When you look at the menu, realize that they have more pieces per handroll than most other sushi places I've eaten at in this area, so while the prices in the menu are higher, the portion size is too. Be careful if you plan on buying more than 2, I usually get 3 and this time I had to take some home, it's quite a lot! It's delicious!

Everything was fresh and delicious though!

Really delicious and fresh sushi. We got the garlic edamame, shrimp shumai, and three rolls we ate before taking a picture of. We got the hanashi roll, spicy california with black rice (not bad), and a spicy eel shrimp tempura roll. So good! I will be coming back, it’s a perfect date spot.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside but open those doors and you feel like you are in Japan. The chef was making jokes in Japanese ( I think they were jokes haha), made the food freshly and it tastes amazing. Must try the baked salmon!

Oh my gosh. I had such a great experience at this restaurant. The staff was great. The woman, who I believe to be an owner, was so kind and hospitable. She took my order very quickly. You could clearly tell the sushi chefs were pros. I received my order in about 5 minutes. Overall great experience. The sushi was super fresh and tasty. The chefs even put thought into the preparation for my to go order. See the sushi in photo attached. I ate the warm roll too quickly and forgot the photo. 10/10 would go again

Finally I found my spot ! The people greeted me with excitement The server was passionate about the menu and so nice. THE FOOD! Was excellent. And the drink nigori is a must have. Thanks so much can't wait to return. Also the crispy rice spicy tuna is a must have. Then menu has so many options but they explain it well so you don't get overwhelmed

Was here 7-24-22. Tomas served Us. He did a Great job. The Sushi was fantastic; the "Homeless Roll"! Thanks for the Great service and food! 🍣 2nd time, 8-30-22. Great Service and Very fresh Sushi 😊. Oh and Vicki was a Great waitress. On 9-26-22 took a friend and Tomas took care of Us. He did an Excellent job making Sushi! We were both VERY Happy! Thanks again Tomas! For Great food this is the place to go.😁 Went again today 11-20-22. My friend and I had Salmon California Roll and Albacore Special. WOW, Very Good! Thomas did a Great Job 👍

The chef greets you warmly when you walk in, and the server is very sweet and attentive. I loved that they seem to have regulars that chill at the bar area. They had a vast array of sake to choose from, very impressive. I also have never called a California roll “decadent,” but here we are! The raw sushi was so fresh and full of flavor, I took my time savoring every bite. I overheard someone saying this place is authentic and affordable, compared to other places that people recommended to me, so I’m glad I took a chance on this small lil place in Santa Monica. Definitely do not hesitate to check it out, you will not be disappointed. Try to make it to their lunch special, too.

Delicious sushi 🍣 in a no frills, quaint restaurant. I had the salad with the sushi platter and hand roll. Very good and hits the spot. If you’re into a no fuss, good sushi place… Sushi Hanashi is just right. 👍🏼👍🏼

Nice little sushi place! We found it by accident. Sushi rolls are tasty, the service good, and the food came quickly. I wish the portions were a bit bigger but otherwise a great find. Oh, and there is a robot dropping of food at the tables. For real - I’m not joking!

Super gas !!!!!! Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for great quality sushi with lots and lots of flavor. Me and my 2 friends stopped in and all got different items off the menu. Everything was amazing !!!! OMG

It's healthier than sushi because of less carbs, etc. (but not here to give health advice, but just to eat). The fish was very fresh along with the ice cold Sapporo. The staff was friendly and courteous. Plenty of seating available, including a few tables outside (but refrained from sitting outside due to the mental health crisis/homeless epidemic here in California); but still love coming to Santa Monica for the diversity of foods.

Would definitely recommend if you're in the area an want some fast good food. But get in during happy hour (I think it was 3-5) for a really good deal.
