Opinions de The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Santa Monica
I stopped in at 11AM on a Sunday and only had one other person in line ahead of me. Plenty of seating outside, I suspect timing is everything with this situation. 60s music playing over the loud speaking, a very festive environment. Staff was courteous, friendly, and efficient. Coffee is standard Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf coffee. This is another stop that makes a visit to the Santa Monica Pier enjoyable.
I love coffee and I can have it anytime of the day. When I went to Santa Monica Pier, the first thing I wanted while I was walking around was a good cup of coffee. I really enjoy the java I got from "Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf". Coming from a cold climate, I can have it even on the hottest day which is probably why there wasn't many people in this store. Located right on the pier, it was in the right place at the right time. Stay safe out there people and please, be kind to one another!
Stopped by today and had an absolutely perfect Mocha-rich, smooth, and exactly what I needed. The atmosphere on the pier is wonderful, and the vibes are great for a coastal stroll. My only complaint is the seating area. There is a catastrophic lack of umbrellas at the outdoor tables. Sitting under the scorching sun without any shade is tough. Love the coffee, but they definitely need more cover for their customers!
Layered pumpkin was delicious and so was the cheese danish. Employee was friendly and kind. They were kind enough to give us a pup Cup for our pug. Had a good first time experience
I recently visited this branch of Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and tried their Vietnamese coffee and tea. The Vietnamese coffee was fantastic—rich and bold, delivering a delightful kick. It was one of the best cups I've had in a while. The tea was soothing as well. The café had a warm atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, I highly recommend their Vietnamese coffee and can’t wait to return to try more!
Thank you for being at the end of the pier! I was in need of coffee, and didn’t want diner-quality coffee that can be found along the other pier stalls. I needed something with a robust caffeine burst and they provided the kick. More expensive than other Coffee Beans. My regular sized black drip coffee and regular sized white mocha latte was just under $10. They have a nice selection of pastries available. Warm anything up to-go. Good variety of bottled beverages, too. Game stepped up here with their add-on milks at the station where you can customize your drink: non-fat, whole, non-dairy and half & half readily available. Also, stevia packets. Nice. Employees super friendly - they made the line move quickly. Excellent view of the pier and a great place to people watch.
Very busy but the jalapeño cream cheese bagel was amazing!
It was very cold the day we visited and having coffee/tea at this place warmed us up. They don't have a sitting area inside, so you will need to sit outside. The staff was great. Visiting from Houston, Texas.
This a great spot on the pier for a little pick me up. Busy, but quick service! Can’t think of a better combination than enjoying the ocean view with a delicious coffee in hand.
Great vanilla latte. Refreshing!

Cofee bean reminds me of Highschool. I have been drinking their cofee since 2002. It still tastes good as usual.
The staff is super sweet here. Might have been the sun and the pier that made this iced coffee taste so good. Worth a stop after the beach.

Definitely a great place to get some hot coffee and muffins. The kids loved the chocolate muffins and we enjoyed a walk at the pier with our hot lattes.
The iced teas we got were great, but they were out of the first two flavors we asked for. Drinks took a long time to make even though there weren't many people there. Also there's nowhere to sit - this is a grab and go type of place. However, drinks were super yummy.
I went last Saturday for a matcha cookies and cream Frappe. Customer service at the register wasn’t the best. Yet, Jasmine is a great worker, made my frappe quickly and it tasted amazing! Compared to other works she greeted me and told me to have a good night, her greetings and smiled seemed genuine! Give her a raise haha. Amazing way to make the customer feel wanted.
A must-try spot for coffee lovers: Coffee on the Santa Monica Pier is pure bliss. I had the caramel-flavored coffee, which was excellent. The staff is courteous, and the place is clean and well-maintained.
This coffee shop offers a calm & soothing vibe as it is located right by the rides & the staff are very welcoming & lines are always through the door. Be prepared to be know what u want before u ate in line as it is a fast moving shop. Personally I am a fan a more cold chocolate drink for the afternoon/evening as it is still January it does feel rather chilly staring at 5pm. Staff is very accommodating to each and every customers request & pastries are always warmed up & taste very fresh.
Probably the only coffee shop that I found on the pier. My wife wanted hot drink as it was cold on the day we visited. Shop is very basic and decent selection which is nice. I grab her a hot latte and I tried their bubble tea. Impression on the latte was good as it had a good strong coffee taste on it. They had an option for oat milk as well for those who are lactose. Bubble tea experience wasn’t too pleasant because of my expectation. Typically bubble tea is on a sweeter side of taste and this was a cold latte with tapioca. This was not for me, but could be for others.

It’s a great location but the service is chaotic and the chai latte was poor. Staff were having an argument at the till so the queue had to wait for them to finish before any orders were taken. Shame really, with better customer service and attention to detail it could have been 5 stars. A captive audience should not be an excuse for mediocre service
This is a convenient coffee bean location but if you know you want coffee before heading to the pier grab it before. This location does not participate in the rewards program and it’s more expensive than other locations. Coffee was good as usual.

Espresso was good, but the Chai Latte was the worst I've ever had. It was basically a bucket of sugar, couldn't take two sips from it, highly not recommended, a coke probably has less sugar and tastes better!
Asked for a Latte in a 12oz and was told they only make it in 16oz - this is ridiculous. Traditionally lattes are either 8oz or 12oz - 16oz is too weak and too milky. Then they charged $1.89 extra for oat milk in a blended frappe - absurd mark up!! $16.50 for two drinks that were ordinary. Have been to other stores which made a much better coffee and lower price. The USA doesn’t know how awful their espresso style coffee is. Thumbs down 👎
This coffe shop is the worst one I have ever been on my life! There are too many people working and I don't think they know what they are doing. The cashier girl was extremely rude. If she doesn't like her job, she shouldn't be there! As I am a customer spending my time and my money, experienced the worst experience. I can't complain about prices since it is a touristic place, but they have to work with people who can actually do their job nice!!!!
This place had very terrible customer service. To start, they don't have all their items on a menu. I tried to order an iced coffee and they couldn't understand the fact that I didn't want it blended with a cup of sugar. Next they had terrible communication between staff members who were individually being quite unsanitary. While I waited over 20 min for my coffee, I saw them give coffee to someone and then they were almost out of the store when someone yelled "wait come back here!" And they took the coffees out of her hand and gave them to someone else. Then after many people who ordered after me got their ordered I politely asked if mine was coming up to which a very confused girl said "oh yeah it's next..." And then she made my iced coffee in a small cup and was about to hand it to me when she realized I ordered a large so she transferred it to a large cup and filled it up with ice. When I asked if there is the same amount of coffee in all the sizes she tried to cover it up and pretend I didn't see what she just did and say yes. So basically I paid $10 for a cup of ice I waited 20 minutes for. Don't waste your time and money.
No sugar free options other than some “vanilla powder” that the cashier Karen couldn’t guarantee it was sugar free and wouldn’t ask just kinda shrugged and said idk. Not asking to stay skinny but as a type 1 diabetic. Go girl give us nothing
B E W A R E. When we visited late last summer, we told the staff that took our order to ensure our drink was dairy-free due to my daughter's milk allergy - they have the typical non-dairy milk substitutes. When my daughter took a tiny sip to start slow, she immediately knew it contained a dairy product due to extreme itchiness of tongue and throat followed by full body hives. The drink was prepared by staff who just didn't seem to care nor take the request seriously - not sure if it was poor cross contamination controls, lack of checking of ingredients/powders of supplemental ingredients (pretty sure it was the white powder - whatever that was - that they put in), or they just "forgot". Either way poor service, poor product, poorly trained staff, and potentially life-endangering. My daughter never gets "dairy-ed" at the larger chains with proper controls / stringent training.
I have been to many coffee places but this the worst one so for when it comes to service. How long should it take for one cup of coffee ? Especially when they open a coffee shop at such nice place and don’t provide a good service. The server had long long longg nails! Is this even allowed? They weren’t even doing anything to control that much traffic.
I ordered an iced Vanilla Latte and when I received my order I noticed there was no vanilla. When I asked the Barista he said I did not pay for vanilla (paid over 9$ for 1 iced latte) he said I would need to pay an additional $1.79 for vanilla. Their mistake and they were all really rude so I was not willing to waste my time or pay the nearly 2$ extra. When I asked for my receipt back the barista tossed it at the counter and walked away.
It was shown as 4.35 dollars online, but in the store it was 9.99 dollars which was really unreasonable. When we asked the clerk for the price tag, he claimed that there was no price tag.
Easily the worst coffee I’ve ever drank in my life. It doesn’t taste like they left the coffee pot out for too long. It tastes like they reused coffee grounds from yesterday, and then left that pot out for too long. I tried dumping out the rest of the coffee (I was sick of it after 10 sips) to salvage the boba. Unfortunately the taste still lingered. Pretty place though.
The store has the worst customer service, I brought couple drinks and my 20 months kid want cup of water with lid but the guy he is tall with glass say No and shake his head with nothing explaining. I talk to the person in charge his name is Angle, he said he doesn’t think kid need the water cup with lid. I never saw any service like this. It is doesn’t make sense to me for request water and treat like this. If you cannot provide CUSTOMER SERVICES PLEASE COLSE YOHR DOOR FOREVER. Discrimination for sure.

Poor customer service and even worse coffee. Blech. If there was a negative star option I’d be pick that one. How could you get our simple order so wrong? When I asked for cream it was like they had never heard of that before. How strange !?!
Went to the pier a couple weeks ago. My teen waited in line for a while and when she got up to the front of line, the employee looked at her and proceeded to ask the person behind her if they were ready to order. When my daughter mentioned she was next, the employee continued to ignore her and attend the people behind her. So she walked out without purchasing anything.
Came to get some hot coffee for my wife and I. When I was preparing my coffee Pouring the half and half I noticed the milk bulking up. I asked the male barista if I could get a new coffee because the texture of the dairy was off. Instead of just giving me a new coffee he began to ask for a receipt which I chose not to get to save some paper. He began making comments about my ability to make a coffee to his coworkers. If it wasn't for the young female at the register that told him to just make a new one I dont know what his problem is. Worst customer service ever...
I ordered pastries, which were delicuous, and a cup of ice water ($1.00). After.eati g my food right outside the establishment I went back in to ask for a refill of ice water. The staff refused a mnd said I had to pay another $1.00. All I asked for water. Sad!
If I could leave less than one star I would. The girl that works in the morning is so rude. I work on the pier to and I would never want to make anyone feel this way. Liz is rude. You need to have a talk with here about her attitude.
