Opinions de Aroma de Café Santa Rosa
A friend and I were in town and stopped into Aroma de Café for Brunch on a Friday morning. My friend had her dog with her, so we sat at the outside table, which was perfect for us. Since we didn’t eat inside, we only got a little glimpse of the interior when we walked in to meet the hostess, but the inside of this new brunch spot is super cute and inviting. Outside, there is ‘new build’ construction going on, but my friend and I didn’t even notice it until the end of our dining experience because of how great everything was. My friend decided to get a vanilla latte with her dog’s face on it so that she could take a cute picture for her family back home (it turned out so good that it even made it onto his pangu.adventures IG page.😅) Since we were sitting outside, that latte became a smash hit with every passerby. As most people don’t yet know that the technology exists to put photos on lattes, everyone’s minds were blown to see this little pug sitting at the table next to a latte with his face on it. It was such a fun experience! To top it all off, the latte was actually good. (In all honesty, we were half expecting it to be so-so in flavor when the appearance was so perfect, but it was a hit on all fronts.) It was definitely worth the price for the novelty and for the overall experience it brought to us as every passerby stopped at our table for a laugh. Next, came the food. My friend and I both ordered the Breakfast Choripapa Burrito. I got mine with a side of their Guajillo hollandaise, and my friend got hers with a side of green salsa, and we were each in breakfast Heaven. It was quite entertaining to watch my friend bite into her breakfast burrito and immediately say, “This is going to be hard to follow. I’ll tell you that right now….and I’ve had a lot of breakfast burritos.” Needless to say, we both really enjoyed our meals. The icing on the cake for us (other than having a latte with my friend’s dog on it) was the friendliness the staff. Every employee who visited our table was absolutely wonderful. We loved chatting and sharing photos and stories with them. The service alone was enough to make me a returning customer, but they also have a lot of yummy-looking menu items, so that helps. I’ll definitely be back whenever I find myself in Santa Rosa.
The mimosa flight is cute. The coffee is amazing and needs no milk. The food was good. The waffles were crunchy and soft. The pancake was amazing paired with the coffee. The huevos rancheros was good. The tortillas are fresh hand made. If you’re looking for a cute spot or breakfast or brunch this is your place. Come check it out.
Our first time in but won't be our last! Alejandra was very wonderful let me make a off the menu kind of order of chicken and waffles! I like the sweet and spice and everything was beautiful and fresh. Mimosas were great and the coffee with cinnamon was a great little change 🙂. Thank you for the staff being so friendly and efficient. We really enjoyed our experience.
This is a great place to have a pleasant sit down, enjoy good food with family and friends. Their fresh squeeze orange juice is delicious. Our waitress Tania was friendly and took good care of us. I like how low the music was. It allowed my group to hear and enjoy our conversations. I enjoyed seeing their nature theme inside. Beautiful place, beautiful people, clean, and professional staff.
Genuinely one of the best spots we've been to on our trip ! We we're looking for spots to eat breakfast before heading to the Charles M. Schulz museum and this came up! Gorgeous atmosphere, amazing service, and YUMMY FOOD !! Everyone got a variety of food and drinks, everything was delicious. Love how attentive staff are and how much they love to converse with their guests :( so so sweet. They're moving to a new location soon! Can't wait to see you girls grow your business. We'll definitely be coming back next time we visit:) thank you for a wonderful time <3
It was fantastic , I couldn’t believe how fast the service was. My daughter had a competition in Santa Rosa and we want to have some breakfast before it but we weren’t sure since going in a restaurant most of the time we had to deal with the waiting to get help and in this restaurant we got seated right away and it was so fast that we got our food in the first 10 minutes…. Highly recommend it if you are in a hurry!!!
So fun to spend our birthday with Joaquín and the rest of the servers. Everyone had a smile on their face and truly made us feel special They accommodated our vegetarian needs and had so much fun with the sparkling mimosa tower. All around so fun!
I love this place. We come here often. They always earn 5 stars. The food is excellent. The service is fantastic, and the owner Alejandra has the best vibe ever. Try it you will love it. Nitrosmike
I actually found this spot while searching for brunch on my flight here (dedication, right? 😂). The vibe was chef’s kiss and the Guajillo Eggs Benedict did not disappoint. Even the style they had of potatoes—which I don’t usually go for—were great with it. Usually just a hash-brown girly or diced potatoes kind of gal. Such a fun little brunch gem, can’t wait to come back! 💛
This spot is adorable and incredibly welcoming. Friendly service all around from every person on staff. *ALEJANDRA* took amazing care of us! Shared the Mimosa flight, Waffles & Burrito. All were delicious and made us dance in our seats. If your food doesn't make you dance- you're in the wrong place. Really happy we found Aroma de Cafe.
Beautiful cafe. Great atmosphere and decor. Staff is incredibly friendly and food is amazing. Best brunch place ever!
I stumbled in here a week ago – it's tucked away where you wouldn't go looking for breakfast. Instantly loved it and went back a week later. A wide, diverse Mexican breakfast menu. Last week I had the tres leches French toast, which was a REVELATION. This week I had wonderful chilaquiles suizas. The coffee is great, and this week realized they also had cafe de olla, which is a treat. The place is cozy and spacious at once (high ceiling), and has a hip vibe, more like a breakfast spot in Mexico City than one in Santa Rosa. The staff is great – charming, attentive, really concerned that you are enjoying the food. Or maybe the food is always this good and the attentive staff just want you to have the chance to articulate it.
Love this new spot for weekend brunch. All 5 selections at our table were fantastic. Great atmosphere and service. We will be back soon to try more from the menu! Avocado toast with iced horchata latte. Chilaquiles in background lived up to all the great reviews.
I was looking for a unique destination for Saturday breakfast. Never heard of this restaurant. I hope I'm the only one who didn't know. What a jewel. A cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Wonderful staff. An original menu with a traditional take on classic Mexican dishes. A pleaser for every palate. And, super portions. All forca fair price. Loved it!!!
Aroma de Café Brunch is such a cozy spot with delicious, freshly made brunch options. The coffee is excellent, and I love the variety of flavorful dishes on the menu. The friendly service and warm atmosphere always make it a perfect place for a relaxed meal.
It was a wonderful breakfast experience. I recommend the horchata with the espresso shot. It was delicious. We went for my daughter's 19th birthday. I recommend you make a reservation, which we did. The place was so elegant and decorated beautifully for valentine's day. I will definitely be going back again. I want to try so many things on the menu.
This place has an amazing atmosphere! Which is surprising for Santa Rosa, no disrespect. Thania was our server and she did an amazing job very attentive, and took care of us. Now to the food, the food was amazing, I almost forgot to take a picture. The star of the show was the Horchata, I immediately had to get an another glass after trying it. My co-workers guaranteed they will back soon, they do more work out here so it makes sense. When I’m back in the area this will be the first place I go to.
Having recently experienced this establishment, I was thoroughly impressed by the environment and ambiance. Our server, Alejandra, provided exceptional service, and her recommendations greatly assisted in our order selection. The culinary offerings were of the highest quality. I highly recommend this establishment. The comfortable atmosphere is enhanced by the background music, creating an uplifting experience. I understand that further enhancements are planned. I look forward to returning to sample the brunch menu.
One of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had in a long time! Perfectly toasted brioche, eggs, ham, and cheese — every bite hits. Goes perfect with coffee. The aroma crepes also great . You can start off with the sandwich for savory goodness and then move onto the crepe. Is a great combo. Pro tip: for the sandwich, ask for the creamy orange aioli on the side, it takes it to the next level. Highly recommend!
had a lovely brunch w family. Our server Talia was so attentive and kind with us and our food came out looking gorgeous in a timely manner. We will definitely be coming back for their happy hour and dinner times— loved our experience 😁
I had such a great experience at this restaurant. The menu offers a wide variety of tasty dishes. The prices are very reasonable, wich makes it even better. Our waiter Joaquin was pretty attentive, helpful, and professional, he made us feel very welcome. Definitely a place worth to visiting !
UPDATE ! CAFE AROMA HAS MOVED TO 115 4th ST. SANTA ROSA, CA. The new location is incredible. The space is six times larger. There are two levels upstairs and downstairs. There Is a giant bar with a huge huge variety of liquor. They have added waiters and waitresses to the staff. Hundreds of people visit every day but there is no waiting. They seat the customers right away! Alejandra hit a grand slam home run! The vibe is 💯 positive. The food is five star. The prices are reasonable. If you have significant other, a special date or a birthday party to celebrate you must take them here. Everybody will love you. ¡ACTUALIZACIÓN! They took the existing space and invested tens of thousands of dollars into a complete upgrade and remodel. Everything is new new new! I love it. Previous review 2023 I was looking for a new place to eat. I got so lucky. The staff is super friendly and professional. The interior is new, fresh, and clean. The food is authentic mexican. You must try the Crepes and Cafe de Aroma! Delicious 😋. A patron celebrated her birthday. The staff presented her with a sparkeler enhanced cakes. It was beautiful. If I have a date I want to impress, this is the place. (Update 8-2-25 I did meet a new person after years of being single. I brought her to brunch at the New Cafe Aroma. She loved the food and now she loves me. 😀) Last Sunday October 5th i had weibo's friends. My date had the salmon plate. Oh my god it was heavenly.
Omelette Por Favor!!! The person making the omelettes is making some magic. The Alambre omelette is something worth driving from San Fran to come try… weekly. Delicious. The server was great, it made a fun experience. Thank you Kenia ✌🏼
10/10 💎 great customer service, atmosphere interior designs beautiful and music is at the right volume where you can have a conversation and food is delicious
Aroma de Cafe is a gem! I had the huevos divorciados and chilaquiles suizos—both were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The sauces on each dish were rich and distinct, making every bite satisfying. But the real star? The coffee. The cafe de olla had that perfect warm, spiced sweetness, and the horchata latte was smooth, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet. Highly recommend if you're looking for a flavorful breakfast and a cozy vibe!

What an amazing little gem. I sure hope they stay around or move into a bigger spot because this place is amazing. Food, service, vibes…top notch. It is really great to see a fantastic brunch/lunch spot in SR again :)

Breakfast was good and’s coffee was great. Nice ambiance as well. Dinging one star because there were no high chairs.
This place is very nice to go and enjoy its delicious food with your partner, family or friends, but I do not know if I should recommend it, because it has two problems. Number one: it reeks of drainage. The smell is very strong. They need to solve this problem, because it is uncomfortable to eat with that smell. Number two: I want to tell you about a problem I had on the official website of this place on Google. I went online to look at the menu so that when I arrived at the scene, I would know what to order instantly. But the online menu is totally different from the menu they have in the restaurant. Actually, the online menu does not exist, according to them. This creates a conflict, a problem with waiters when it comes to ordering. I hope the owner will listen to my voice and solve those two small but at the same time big problems.
We had 32 minute from the time someone told us there would be a wait. I'm glad we waited because the food was delicious. I've never been to a brunch place that was primarily Mexican dishes so I was excited to try it and it did not disappoint! The place was a little tight and crowed but no not uncomfortable. I'll definitely be returning!

This place was pretty disappointing. The seats were stained and dirty. All the food was mediocre, lacked flavor - same with the latte. The service was lacking. We were the only ones in there and the music was blasting. Both me and my friend noted it. I requested she turn it down twice and the volume didn't change much either time. She didn't check on us once during our meal, I had to flag her down to get some more water. I won't be back.
We stopped here on our way to the zip line adventure. We came in got our name on the list and gave them our number to call us. We were told 20 minutes for 2 people so we walked around the corner for some coffee. After about 30 mins we walked back and the guy said he called us 3 times. Well he wrote our number down incorrectly. We waited for them to get the next table cleared and ordered right away because we had our reservation to get to. My sisters order was put in incorrectly but we didn’t have time to wait for them to fix it. We ordered a mimosa flight and while they were good we had to rush through our experience to get to where we were going. I got the birria with chilaquiles and they had good flavor.
Exceedingly mediocre. The decor is trendy and the plating is cute but the food was undersalted and bland. It also wasn't hot, and the potatoes tasted like they'd been kept warm for too long. My partner and I were seated on the upper floor, which I think contributed to our service being so-so, since the servers have to walk up and down the stairs to see us. This restaurant feels like it's trying to be two things at once, and not doing either well.
Apparently this is the new location so the older reviews are for the last location! We were so confused when we walked in and the pictures didn’t match where we were. We also thought it was a more casual spot but it’s a sit down restaurant and people were there for drinks. We went later in the night and they must have been beginning to close shop because it reeked of cleaning supplies and dirty mop water - it was actually so strong but we didn’t want to leave after we just ordered food. Our food was plated beautifully but was not hot when we got it - enchiladas were just warm and the mole sauce was cold. Mole was very very peanut buttery. The beans and rice were not very good - beans were oddly pink and the rice was soggy and not Spanish rice. Service was great though - our waiter brought us new enchiladas when we told him about the temperature of our food and was very apologetic.

I was excited to try a new place and disappointed they didn’t meet our expectations. The drinks were good. The calamari appetizer was OK, my husband had the birria pasta and it was barely OK, I had the chilaquiles and those were OK. I wouldn’t recommend eating here unless you’re out of other options. For a spot between Jackson’s and Grossman’s I would expect better food. The staff were very friendly.
This place was great when we first went weeks ago, we came back but the experience wasn’t the same as before. Once we were seated we were able to get our drinks right away but everything after that went downhill. The waitress didn’t check in on us the entire time., we waited 30 mins for our food that still hadn’t arrived, we flagged our waitress down to see where our food was at as the table next to us came later and ordered later got their food before us and she stated it was coming. She then confirmed that our ticket was lost and she was apologetic. We finally got our food but it came out super salty and seemed rushed. The waitress did give us a 10% discount but by that point we were already over the place. Go at your own risk 🤷🏼♂️
We've been here several times and have always enjoyed ourselves, but our experience today was very disappointing. We were seated before the table next to us, yet they received their food well before we did. When our order finally arrived, my son's meal was incorrect and everything was cold. He had to eat goldfish from our bag while we waited for his food to be remade. When the corrected meal came out, his order was right, but my bacon and crepes were still cold. It felt like the food had just been quickly re-plated instead of freshly made. This is the first time we've had an issue here, which is why it was so surprising. I'm hopeful this was just an off day and that our next visit will be back to the usual standard.
I came here for a brunch date with one of my close friends. We were excited to try this place out. For context, I’m Latina and my friend is Kenyan. What we experienced was blatant racism directed toward my friend, and I’m still shaken by it. From the moment we sat down, the service was cold and dismissive. Plates were taken away before we were finished, no one checked in to ask how our food was, and when we tried to get our server’s attention, we were ignored. Meanwhile, I watched other Latinx customers being treated with warmth and attentiveness... the contrast was undeniable. The final straw was when the check was dropped off without asking if we were done. I ordered something else just to observe the reaction, and the server began complaining about us to others, right in front of us. As a Latina, I was deeply disappointed to witness this kind of treatment coming from my own community. Racism in any form is unacceptable, and no one should have to endure what my friend did. Delicious food does not excuse discriminatory behavior. I will not be returning, and I hope this place reflects seriously on how they treat their guests.
This place has great breakfast, I will absolutely give them that, but I left today feeling extremely disappointed and upset. I've been here a couple of times, and the last few times the food was amazing and the service was good. This time wasn't the case. We were seated on the top floor, where the servers were spread thin. Our server was sweet and nice, but she never checked on us, we had to ask for refills and a side of salsa. She didn't interact with any of her tables very much, because she was so spread thin. Adding onto this, when I went to close out, I handed her my card and she took it and came back with the tables next to me's receipt. She had already charged me, which the difference was pretty substantial. Instead of apologizing or anything, she took the receipt and went to refund me then charge me the correct amount. No explanation, no apologies, just doing this all without explaining anything. Thankfully my wife and I have worked in the business for many years and knew what was going on. The most upsetting part, was the complete lack of service by anyone involved. Her manager had to come over and fix it, and instead of coming to the table and explaining things, apologizing, offering anything for the fact that my card is now being double charged, absolutely nothing. He walked away, and our server just handed us the new bill and walked away. This isn't how you do service, and it's now how you run a business with integrity. To charge me a table that's 3x my tables tab, and say nothing at all just rubs my wife and I the wrong way. Icing on the cake, the food wasn't nearly as good as the last few times. Beans were watery and had no flavor compared to the last few times. Overall a terrible experience
Ive tried ordering from here twice. The first time they tried to charge me double than the listed online price. The second time their menu was "old" and they didn't have any way for me to order from the correct menu. Absolutely subpar. Not an old restaurant, your online menu should be up to date!
Waitresses were very choosey of who they gave good service too if they dont see you dressed a certain way service is horrible got sat in a corner by the dishes and didn't get asked once if I needed any condiments or refill had to wave someone down for some syrup for my French toast
