Great beer, food was fine, service was great. We were there on Saturday night so there was a 45-minute wait but they took my phone number and I was able to go across the steet to the bookstore and shop for 45 minutes till they texted me worked out great.
The pizza was absolutely delicious!! The Pesto was super nutty and married well with the caramelized onions and sausages. The Omni pizza we got is somewhat like a supreme pizza with a garlic and salami added to it and was absolutely delicious. The beer of course was good as expected. Definitely worth a visit.
The food, beer and service were all great! We had the full tasting of 12 beers and the monogram pizza with pesto and chicken. I would definitely recommend the tasting! Trying all the beers was a really nice experience and helped us figure out what specific kinds of beers we each like.
Iconic craft beers, wide selection. The chicken caesar wrap we had was plenty to share and excellent. We sat on the sidewalk patio and got to know the bouncer (who was a great guy and helped me out with local traffic rules). Can be very busy but worth any wait you might have. Highly recommend!
Love this place. The lines are long, esp during the limited release of Pliny the Younger, but the craft brews are beyond phenomenal. If you wanna drink the best beer (produced in house) in Santa Rosa, this is the spot. Staff/Beer Jockeys are awesome af, just please remember that when there's a lot of patrons, they're doing their best to get you satisfied ASAP!!!!
Hole in the wall feel brew pub with delicious pizza and world renowned beer. People travel from all over the world to drink their beer. The bar area has a fun, social vibe. They haven't let their reputation get to their heads and have kept their prices pretty low for the area.
Great brewery with great beer in a chic atmosphere. The CBR pizza was really good and not too greasy. Worth a visit!
If you've never been here, you're missing out big time. Their beer is amazing, and their food matches. I love sitting at the bar and enjoy getting to know new ppl around me and chat with beer tenders. But if it's a beautiful day and / or you have a doggie outside is nice too. Bring your growler and take delicious beer home gor later.
Love the place. It's very cozy and has a lot of great beer selections. For me, it's like paying a homage to the best IPA that's out there. Definitely did not disappoint. The food and service are great too. They have tables out front that is covered and blocked from the wind, so it's nice and we are able to bring our dog to enjoy some delicious beer and food!
Beer heaven and the ultimate destination. An unbelievable lineup far beyond the Pliny even though having Pliny straight from the source is truly life-changing! Grab a few Beer Bites and settle in for an easy, perfect afternoon!
I don't like beer, but this is a must visit every time I'm in town. Their shirts are soft, pizza and food are quite tasty, and they have multiple non-beer options which are enjoyable!
The busyness can sometimes be a little overwhelming but overall it's still a great spot. The beer bites are my favorite and I like to add jalapenos & pepperoni to them 🤤
Although a new brewery has been built in nearby Windsor, we still prefer coming to the original brewpub in downtown Santa Rosa. The pizzas are delicious and the sandwiches as well. It has a great atmosphere and feel to it from the minute you walk in and I believe they still have live entertainment on some nights. There is a small area where you can purchase some of their famous beer and swag as well. Always on my list when we go to Santa Rosa.
I’m giving 5 stars not because of the hype but because the service, food, and beer were really quite excellent! We went during the Pliny Younger weeks in February and waited in line to get in and the staff was extra accommodating to the businesses around them and the people in line. The artichoke and spinach dip was really good and the pizza was great too! I come from a town that has a lot of craft breweries and RRBC definitely fine tunes their beers to the style. Of course Pliny the Younger was an excellent triple IPA and you cant even taste that it has over 10% ABV in it! Overall a really good experience.
I just recently started going here because I am working right down the street. The food has been really good, and the service has been nice. They make their own beer and it's wonderful
Went for the Pliny the Younger release. We took the guided tour at the Windsor location which included generous pours of several of their beers, including Pliny the Younger! This is a beautiful new brewery and a must see for anyone that wants to try the gold standard for IPA’s and many other styles.
Everyone already knows the beer is great so this review is for the pizza, which was excellent. We got the Excel with spinach, mozzarella, sweet onions, crumbled Italian sausage. They cut the large pie into 12 slices so each slice is half the size of a normal slice, making it easier to eat and share. Such a great idea. And delicious!
Let me start off by saying this, Pliny the Elder is the best beer that has ever been made. No I am not a mustacheo'd hipster who spends more on craft beer than anything else. Anyways Pliny the Elder is the signature beer from Russian River Brewing, and the ability to buy this extremely rare beer in Southern California is worth the trip here alone. I came for lunch on a Saturday and there was about a 30 minute wait. I ordered a pizza from the menu and the flight sampler and I really enjoyed both. The service and atmosphere was great as well. After lunch, I went to the gift store and was able to buy some beer to take back home along with some Russian River swag. Just a heads up, as far as the very rare beers, Pliny and Blind Pig in my instance, they limit it to 1 case per customer. It ends up coming to about $6 a bottle, a few dollars less than if you were lucky to find it in a local liquor store.
The Pliny is my favorite beer of all time. Their wings in pliny sauce is amazing! It should be featured on Hot Ones. This is the only place in Santa Rosa (maybe even Sonoma County) that isn't afraid to dish up some heat. HIGHLY recommended!
Went up for my 40th birthday last weekend. I already knew the beer was amazing but having not been here in almost 20 years, I didn’t know what the service and atmosphere would be like. The service was on par with the beer. AMAZING!!! The staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and super attentive. So much so that we returned 3 days in a row while there for the weekend. The food was also fantastic. The pizza was up there with some of the best I’ve had. Cannot wait to get back up there!
Had their damnation and the hopfather during the Santa Rosa visit. I'd recommend the damnation beer, it's super smooth and creamy. Not too sweet, just right amount of hoppiness as well. We were too full to eat so we didn't order anything but definitely a great place to grab a beer tasting. These folks have a great atmosphere with great staff.
Great atmosphere and excellent staff. The pizzas had the perfect crispy crust and balanced amount of toppings. The southwestern bbq chicken wrap left room for desire - this is probably a personal preference because I'm from New Mexico and I have different expectations of southwestern. If you enjoy Chipotle on Chipotle with a tad bit of bbq you could enjoy it.
We stopped here in June and July of 2020 while on a road trip up the coast. It was on our list of places to stop along the way and it did not disappoint either time! Our stop in June was to pick up items "to go", we called ahead when we were about 30 min out (at this point it was take out only). We ordered a pepperoni pizza and their garlic bread for our lunch while on the road and also got some beer to go for later. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. My husband also got himself a t-shirt as a souvenir. The garlic bread was to die for; some of the best we have ever had and our girls enjoyed the pizza. Everything was hot and ready when we got there. It was a stop worth making. Our stop in June we were able to dine outside, so we ordered beer and a few things on their menu to try. We did the Pliny Bites and a New Yorker as well as the garlic bread to go for the kids. The beer is good, okay great and the food too! Our second stop was better than the first. The staff again was awesome and friendly and we had a really enjoyable time while we were in the Santa Rosa area. If you have not been here, I highly recommend a stop!
Stopped by for lunch on Friday, very happy to see that the brewery has kept all the things that made the spot great intact over the years. I had visited over 10 years ago and had very fond memories, and the days visit did not disappoint. The food great and the service was awesome. We had a toddler with us and there was no issue at all. The beers were solid and it was great to see pub exclusive beers on tap as well as to go in cans and bottles. Very happy to have visited in time for their fresh hop IPA release.
I haven't been back here in a couple years and yet everything tastes so amazing. From the beers to the food I'm always impressed. Of course it's packed for a reason. But the place is so homely and I've never had a bad time. Service is very quick and they will always accommodate. Thank you so much 🖤 Update 12/31/21: Went back again and even when sitting at the tables there was always a few servers there to accomodate you so i was still able to get drinks and food super quick. Be sure to tip them well its always busy and they deserve it!
A must-visit every time in Santa Rosa. Even though it is crowded and touristy, we always have a great time here. Not only is the good really tasty, but the staff is great. They are also great at managing the workflow. Plus, their beers - especially the Pliny the Elder and Pliny the Younger (worth the visit) are great. If you need lighter or sour beers, they have those options too. An option for anyone. Thanks to Rachael for taking extra care of us on our last visit. We will be back soon!
I really enjoyed this place overall. My colleagues and I were in for a work trip and grabbed dinner here on a Tuesday night. It was busy, so we had a bit of a wait. But we grabbed some beers and stood in the also-busy patio area. They text you when your table is ready. The hosts were super nice. The servers were super nice and efficient - teamwork was strong. I liked about 50% of the beers on tap (got the flight to try them all). Pliny the elder on tap. We got the antipasto plate, Nu Deal pizza, and Excel pizza. All tasted great. I would definitely come here again when I'm back in Santa Rosa!
First time here. My brother has stood in line before for Pliny the Younger so I figure we would join him this year. 5 hours to get in but I was with family so it was cool. Beer is delicious! Pizza is delicious! Our server was freaking awesome! Can't wait for Pliny for President to come back out during the next election year. We also bought hats, clothing, and stickers after dinner. Very nice area to walk around too with plenty of places to eat while standing in line. Overall, a great experience.
although our server was an angles fan, and dodger friendly, worried me that he would leave before we got our beers, younger just lovely great taste best yet I say that every year, but it's true pub grub is great got a bbq.chicken mushroom pizza and was the best. I use this place as the bar. it's just hard to find a place with business model just great place
This is the must visit place if you are a beer lover and enthusiast. They have locally brewed IPAs, which are amazing! Sometimes you need to reserve bottles in advance to get one and taste it. We had: Blind pig, Piny the elder, Shadow of the doubt, Damnation. My favourite was Blind pig, because it is more fruity and not very strong. The shadow of the doubt was totally different and the strangest one, I have ever tasted. The taste was full of cacao and bitter coffee with specific notes of IPA. These two were really beautiful for me. Piny the elder is just the legendary Californian IPA. You can buy a taster board as many beers as you want and taste everything one by one. Also you can buy bottles and take them with you at home. The most surprising fact for me was that, despite the fact, this is one of the most famous places for beer lovers, prices are very reasonable even less compared to other Californian go out places. Definitely, recommended.
Poplar and busy for a Monday morning (1130am). Metered street parking in the front. 🍕Got a half half medium pizza: mama Mia and Megan’s (vegan - no cheese or vegan cheese option). Was a decent pizza. Fresh and hot. But ingredients aren’t anything amazing for these two. 🛎️ Got a lot of beers to go for friends. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Great service. Definitely recommend!
Delightful experience. The beer was good and the food was amazing. We got a flight of beer and a pesto pizza The kids both got a personal kids pizza that they loved. The service was quick and helpful. I would be happy to recommend them anyone looking for a new beer and a delightful pizza experience.
No bad beers. Ameer and Nick can hold it down. The food could be a touch better. My go to spot when I travel here for work. Better beer diversity than Lagunitas.
This is an awesome brewery. Been coming here for years. Beer is always good, pizza is always on point.
Pleasant vibe and bar tenders. Service is swell-as expected. Cheese pizza does not dazzle but the strawberry spinach salad does 🥗 New offering came out last Thursday called Hop2it. It’s good but I prefer Docta. Pliney is being tapped out in the field. Not in 4th street tho til Mar21. Looking forward to the line of comrads 🍻
We enjoyed dinner here. The beer was obviously great. We also really enjoyed the wings and spinach artichoke dip. We also had a cascade calzone which was ok, but just not to our taste. My wife thought there was too much garlic, and I thought it came across a bit bland. I might add banana peppers, tomato sauce, or something with a bit more flavor to spice it up.
Very happy we stopped by this brewery after working up an appetite from playing the Taylor Mountain Disc Golf course. Their pizza and wings are incredibly tasty! The main star of the show was their Pliny beer - always a must have when you stop through this area. They have great service, a pleasant outdoor dining area, and it’s in an excellent location downtown.
My husband and I went in for beer and ended up having a delicious lunch of the hummus platter and the best pizza we've had in a long time! The crust and sauce tasted homemade, fresh toppings and melty cheese - you can't go wrong! The service was so fast. If you don't want a big beer you can get a taster for $1.50-2 each, perfect if you just want a little to accompany your meal :) we can't wait to go back!
Been a while since I was at the 4th street location. So many great beers! The chicken wings with Pliny sauce were some of the best I have had! Great place to meet friends and enjoy great beer.
It was a good day today at the planet of the younger release. I had to wait two hours and 15 minutes to get in, I got there at 12:20 pm on a Wednesday. Once I got seated at the bar, the server was on top of me and I had a beer in my hand within a minute I’ve sitting down. I tried the meatball sandwich, which was fantastic and chatted with other people around me. Great atmosphere great service great food and great beer!
Not only one of the greatest breweries in a generation, but wow … the food is amazing too. They really have done this right across the board. Service is fast and friendly, knowledgeable recommendations and understand the product and menu well. Biggest flight I have ever seen, love the fact that you get to literally try everything.
We truly enjoyed our time here. We knew we would be drinking some great IPAs but were happily surprised with how much we loved the Belgium style brews. The flight was a great way to try everything and a reasonable price. We had a pizza that was solid and our serve was friendly and attentive. Loads of easy street parking and easy to get a table on a Sunday afternoon. We didn't bring our kids but they would have been very welcome in the space.
Not only is this beer meca, but the food is good also. The simcoe calzone, my favorite, is a one of a kind. BTW Row Two Hill 56 may be the best beer.
Cold beer and hot pizza what else could you want. The beer was delicious and so was the pizza. The price for everything was very reasonable.
We were inside (was boisterous!), moved outside since we had someone with hearing aids. Sat on the patio, got an iced tea, a sav blanc and Pliny the Elder. Cool air was nice! Took a chance on the spin dip - it did NOT disappoint. We ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture of what it looked like. It was that dense and delicious inside with a layer of baked cheese on top. Crispy, yet gooey alongside the quality inside. The pita bread was on point, too. The pizza was great (the New Yorker), but 3 adults had 3 pieces left over with the spin dip + drinks. $110 including tip. Happy Hour mostly applies to the beers (4p - 6:30p :) ). Definitely give it a go!
Great beers! Love the joint. Still has the old school brewery vibes which has sadly gone missing in a lot of other brew pubs.
Love it. Been a fan for years. Sitting at the bar and mingling is a lot of fun, sitting at a table felt like a general restaurant. But service was top notch, and the brews were divine. Will keep coming back every chance I get
Great food and excellent beer! I love the Pliny bites with the jalepenos! The Mikey pizza is one of my favorite pizzas ever. Everything tastes good while washing it down with a crisp STS Pilsner or Pliny the Elder.
The pizza was perfect. I already expected it to be good after reading the reviews, and it did not disappoint. The crust was crispy and chewy, and they really loaded it with pepperoni. The beer also stole my heart—so good and the perfect pairing with the pizza. Exactly what I needed after a tiring day
We went on a Sunday morning. Got there before lunch time and was able to get a nice patio seating. It was dog friendly. Food came fairly quickly and was very tasty! I had a Southwest BBQ chicken wrap. It had a little spice to it which I liked. The pizzas looked really good. Will have to try next time. Got two cans of Pliny the Elder to go. 👍💕 Inside had a nice pub atmosphere with TVs too.
My husband is a long time fan of RRBC and Pliny the Elder. We finally made it here all the way from Pittsburgh PA and it did not disappoint. We did the full flight (husband did the California beers, I did the Belgium) and our wonderful waiter Antone walked us through the whole thing. The gift store was closed, but Antone made sure we got our souvenirs anyway! We were expecting great beers, the service was the cherry on top!
A bucket list brewery to hit up. For a Thursday night RRBC wasn't as busy as I was expecting. No wait or reservations were needed. Their beer on tap was delicious and worth exploring outside of their flagship selections they're known for. Sometimes food at a brewery can be hit or miss, however we were not disappointed. With various pizza pies to choose from, it makes it hard to choose only one. Fortunately, I believe you can order half-and-half of two different pizzas, so you can get some variety of different styles to taste. Overall, it may be a once in a lifetime experience if you're an avid aficionado of craft beer and visiting from out of state or a solid local spot to just let loose. Either way, you can't lose.
Got there at prime time and we were seated fairly quickly. Very small tables for a party of four if you’re getting drinks and food. Pliny on tap. Interesting sours based on white and red wine. Pizza was good and we loved the hummus plate, but food was nothing special. Service was pretty good. Loud and busy atmosphere. My husband was very happy to take home two cases of Pliny, however they only came in bottles and you are supposed to keep them cold.
Pliny Release: 2025 Amazing job! The staff was friendly and patient. Bringing coffee and donuts at 8am for those in line. The beers are phenomenal, highly recommend to try everything at least once. Food is also a must try. The wings are baked, giving a good base for the sauce which really drives the flavor.
Pizza wasn't anything special but that's not what we came for. Place was packed but we found a spot at the bar and got to try a bunch of beers. These guys have obviously been in the game for a while and they really don't make bad beer. I liked everything I tried! The vibe of the place was pretty cool with tons of really cool beer and brewery memorabilia. You will never run out of things to look at. The vibe is humble considering their relative prestige, which I appreciate. Overall, great experience.

Both the beer and the food were delicious. The ambience and service here were both very good. \n\nWe did not have time to take the brewery tour. Next time we plan to take the tour.
The atmosphere was fun and the service was great. We really enjoyed the large flights offered and will definitely return! The garlic bread was so good!

Tasty beer and food. I got to try Plenty the Younger and loved it! The brewery is spacious with a fire place and bar. Outside and inside seating. Six of us enjoyed lunch and the beer.

What a great find with our California friends. Good beer, good food , good atmosphere and good staff.
Although we waited more than one hour to sit (and we arrived 2pm), it was worth because the salad, pizza and beers were so good! Defenestrou will come back!
Great brews. good bar food. awesome ambience. must do. carrying on the tradition of the famous Russian river. show up early as gets busy
This was the only place I cared about stopping when we visited Santa Rosa, one of the Mecca's in the beer world! I was glad we were able to grab a beer while we waited for a table, the outside waiting area is a great setup. Once at our hightop we ordered some food a drinks - luckily they do serve drinks other than beer as mom doesn't drink beer! We got some pizzas for the table which were pretty good, but the best part was the flight. You can try every beer they have on tap for approximately $22, it's a must try!! While I am bias to East coast IPA's, Pliny was good, but Supplication stood out for sure!! If you like beer and are in the area, you cannot miss this stop! So glad I finally made it, thank you!
Food was good. Service was excellent but the beers were disappointing. This place was a long time bucket list destination for me but the tasting the beers on the California ales flight ($15) were not worthy especially the lighter ones. Even Pliny the Elder was flat amongst several others. Wish I could've tasted the Younger but not available.
Had a great evening, great beer and good food. Loved the atmosphere. The only concern is that my friend, who had just arrived in the states the day before, used his credit card for the first time to buy the beers, and the next day had a low value fraudulent transaction on his card. No proof, that was the facts.
Never been here before, but I'd go back. Prices are reasonable. Caesar salad was yummy, pizza was thin, but tasty and had substance. My friends said the BLT was really good...it's not on the menu, but was a special for Monday. My friend and I both had the veggie sandwich add chicken. The chicken was really dry and overall the sandwich lacked flavor. I only ate half and then ordered a pizza slice instead. They have pizza slices to order that are not listed on the menu. Our server Jeff was amazing. So friendly and very personable.
This place has been on my bucket list for a while, and finally made it. Was a little underwhelmed with the choices on the food menu,(which I did not research before hand lol) but overall we had a great experience. The Pliny on tap was 🤌🤌 as well as the pizza that my family and I shared. Our service was great, and I love being able to check this spot off of my list.
Food is pretty standard mainly pizzas. Good food but my wife was hoping for more variety. Beer selection was solid as expected. Order pizza, chicken wings and garlic cheese bread. We got here when it opened so we were able to find seating pretty easily but it got packed quickly so we got lucky. Parking was easy to find because it was Sunday but I can imagine the parking gets tough to find. Would come here again
Top down establishment. Great beer, great food. 4th Street has a different vibe than the Windsor location. Different menu, but same beer. Parking is Downtown Santa Rosa sucks. The Windsor location is easy to get to and it's a lot bigger. Both have great service.
Great beer selection and food waa quite tasty. Food was only deducted because of the beer (sour porter) I ordered didnt really taste balanced. Staff was excellent though and the pliny hot sauce is killer.
Russian River nailed it. The pizza was fantastic with a perfectly crisp crust, the wings were loaded with sauce and packed a ton of flavor, and the spinach-artichoke dip was way better than expected creamy, rich, and super addictive. Great spot overall with solid portions and food that actually lives up to the hype.
Very cool place to eat. It was a little cool the evening we stopped in, but nice enough that we decided to eat outside (also it was pretty loud inside and decided we'd much rather be able to hear each other). We got their baked spinach and artichoke dip appetizer and it was amazing. We ordered their wings with the sweet chili sauce to share and kind of wished we had tried a different sauce as we didn't like this one as much as we thought we would. We also ordered their Simcoe Calzone (we asked to add artichoke as well). For some reason, it just tasted kind of bland, and yet still had way too much garlic. Just wasn't what we were looking for. We did order a scoop of ice cream for dessert to finish it all off (and help with the garlic lol). But it was a fun experience in a really cute, smallish downtown area and would like to try it again. (Apologies for the picture - didn't realize we hadn't taken a picture of all the food until it was almost gone).
If I were only rating the beer and its selection, I would give Russian River Brewing Company 5 stars. The beer is amazing! I really enjoy getting the flights and trying all the beer available. I think it’s the best way to figure out what you like and then follow your favorites on future visits. Unfortunately, I would give only 2 or maybe 3 stars to the pizza. We had the Mikey pizza, and while it wasn't terrible, I can’t say it was that good either. The pizza had a good crispy crust, which I liked, but the sauce and toppings didn't bring much flavor. Service is a good 4. Our waitress was nice and checked on us from time to time. On busy days it can be hard to find good seating, and parking nearby can also be a challenge. Overall, I enjoy coming here mainly for the drinks. My favorites are Happy Hops (IPA), MIND CIRCUS (Hazy IPA), and VELVET GLOW (Helles-Style Lager).
Stop over between winery tours. Enjoyed the beer and the food. Order the RR III IPA and was great. My husband ordered their award winning Pilsner. Not my jam ;-)

Best pizza and wings around. Can never go wrong with a Pliny. Staff is always friendly. Good pub feel

Amazing beer selection- highly recommend Blind Pig, Happy Hops, Pilney the Elder and Damnation. We also ordered the Excel pizza - great crust. Staff were friendly with fast service.
A bit underwhelming. As a veteran beer lover and brewer, I was hoping for some really amazing beers from a brewery that I have always loved from afar. I had a couple hours in Santa Rosa and had to stop in and have a flight. The lagers were the standouts. Sadly a few of the beers were off ( oxidized or tap lines?) Pliny is still good, but did not pop with hops how I have come to expect. It’s a nice little place and holds a special place in craft brewing… just missed a bit today.
Food, beer, and service were great. Our problem was with their outside dining. They said they were dog friendly with heated outdoor seating. Not true. We froze out front which made our experience n…

Me and my partner went on a date and we had poor customer service, our waitress barely checked up on us but checked up on everyone else around and when she would she looked annoyed like if she didn’t wanna help us. Afterwards she gave us the bill and we waited 15 minutes for our changed back (it was not busy) she eventually gave us our changed saying “I didn’t know you wanted it back” so she basically tried to steal from us. We were the only Hispanic there by the way..
