Gelin Restaurant is a classic that has been part of the city's culinary history since 1957. Founded by the Castanedo family, it has been championing traditional Cantabrian cuisine for over six decades with a broad, honest menu that is always faithful to the product. Today, the third generation keeps this emblem alive, evolving without losing the essence of its origins. The menu is extensive and varied, featuring Cantabrian fish and seafood, confirming the reliability of its seafood restaurant. The traditional starters are also available: Russian salad or garden tomatoes. As for meats, the impressive aged Cantabrian ribeye steak or grilled sirloin steak are outstanding, along with stews and rice dishes that showcase the breadth of its excellent menu. The lobster rice is outstanding.

Highly recommended. The service was fast and friendly. The sweetbreads were spectacular. The scrambled eggs, potatoes, and fua chips were very good, although it lacked fua. The croquettes were very good, but the potatoes didn't do them justice. The house wine was very good.

The food is spectacular, of very high quality, and the service was fantastic. I was so surprised that one of the waiters noticed I didn't want to leave my bag on the table (because it was big) and brought me a stool to put next to it without me even asking. They were very thoughtful. It's a really welcoming place, and I'll definitely be back.

The food was very good. We ordered grilled shrimp, octopus in Gallic style, a set of fried seafood and some meat. In addition, local white wine, beer and some refreshing drinks. Everything was delicious, finger-licking good. Prices from 16 to 20 € per portion. The staff was very nice, but spoke Spanish quickly, so it was a bit of a challenge 😀 But it was definitely worth it!

We really enjoyed it. The restaurant is located in Nueva Montaña, with easy access and parking. They have a varied menu specializing in fish. We tried the tuna belly salad, the croquettes, and the grilled sea bass with roasted potatoes. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and of excellent quality. For dessert, we tried the rice pudding and the French toast made with sobao (a type of sponge cake). Everything was very good. The service was quick and very friendly. Highly recommended!

Great atmosphere overall, and the food was good. There was one issue with the Galician-style octopus; some pieces were tough. They more than made up for it with the seafood risotto, which was spectacular. The price was a bit high, but the place is very welcoming and the service was excellent, although we had to wait a while as it was full and we hadn't made a reservation. 😁

Everything was very good. The tomato sauce was excellent, and the San Martín was also very tasty. The tables have tablecloths and cloth napkins. However, the price is a bit high. It's a good idea to book in advance because it's very busy. They're closed on Sundays.

Was very friendly. One of party is GF and so was the owner. So he understood the gluten problem but has very little English. Unfortunately we has very limited Spanish. However the food was very good. We ended up paying the bill for a different table. All was sorted out when our host got involved and refund was issued.

Very kind and attentive service even though no one spoke English we managed to get recommendations and selected great dishes. The Titamissu is the best we have tasted ever. Rest if the food was nice but not exceptional. Prices are a bit higher if what I would expect from a restaurant at such a location and interior.
