My fiancee and I were on our way home to Vermont from picking up our new puppy, and we decided to stop here. Glad we did. First of all, the beer was great. On top of that, they have an awesome outdoor area that we enjoyed with our new puppy. Inside, the bar was really very nice, and the bartender was super cool. I wish we lived closer to this place, but we will absolutely stop by next time we're in the area.
Great local brewery with great beer and friendly staff.
Ok so first of all, get yourself some taproom 18. Second, this place is AWESOME. if you are lucky enough to meet one of the owners, they are super personable and will chat with you about their craft. I met Kurt last week and he was so enthusiastic and willing to share his amazing beers with me. I've tried almost every beer here and I can say this place is no joke. I have not reviewed many breweries because really I don't consider myself a beer expert but..... This place is really something else. Never thought I would like a sour beer or a stout! This place changed my mind.... If you are an IPA guy or gal, Don't hesitate to come here. Hands down some of the best beer I have ever had. One of the bartenders who was working (John) was super attentive and personable. There is no pretentiousness here. They will chat with you about their selection and treat you like a valuable patron. Also did trivia night here on Wednesday night. The host was super professional and organized more than most others I've been to.
Good selection of beers especially if you are into sours or Belgians. Was sad as a lot of the beers were sold out but understand with the release party yesterday being one of their busiest days. Would def say it is worth a trip to. Has outdoor seating No food there but can bring your own or get delivery Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly
Best place for a beer and food. Incredible experience every time no matter how many times you visit. Hasnt been a beer that isnt top notch quality, same with food. Staff are incredibly personable, food is as incredible as the service. Would recommend to anyone.
Very relaxed environment! Very knowledgeable and helpful. Greet you and help you navigate finding a cocktail or beer that fits your fancy! 10/10 - highly recommend.
Favorite location and brewery in Saratoga. Everyone should check it out!
Artisanal has a ton of great beers in ever changing flavor profiles. Their new spot is really pretty with the outdoor seating, the staff are always fun. Can't wait for them to get their kitchen up. Excellent spot for a few drinks with friends.
Great Belgian Tripel and fun spot for Taco Wednesday. Friendly staff & good service.
Hello people, here is my official review of Artisanal Brew Works. This brew house is the Gem of I-87 and Saratoga Springs, NY. We tried over 8 beers, all extremely good, a lot of variaty of IPAs and without a doubt the Whole Lotta which is a NY Gold winner. The family enjoyed the ambient and people from Saratoga Springs are real nice, we felt welcome. One thing is like many breweries, this doesn't have a kitchen. However, they have menus in which if you order from a menu of one of the restaurants near by you will get a 2 for 1 deal. Overall, extremely please with service and quality of brews at this location. If you are nearby do your self a favor and stop here.
WOW! And WOW again! We truly enjoyed our time here! Good food, great beer, the service was right on! Plus, we spent the night in our camper in their spacious parking lot for free! And OH…let’s not forget…free entertainment! Yeah…a trio…composed of 2 guitarist and 2 singers. So yeah…good music and a good time! We came all the way from Quebec Canada to be here and we were not disappointed! Had a wonderful time!
Tomato bisque was excellent!! As was the pepperoni pizza (my choice) and Havest Turkey sandwich (partner choice). Service and staff very accommodating and friendly. Only negative is music was to start at 5:00 per their event page but didn’t start until 6:30, if that’s the only downside, I have no complaints, they’re doing something right!
Wonderful place with friendly staff, great beer & food. Lots of seating options, both indoor & out. I tried several of the beers & enjoyed them all.
We love it here. The people are so sincerely friendly and knowledgeable, and they clearly love what they do. They are also super considerate of dietary restrictions and always accommodate us. Not to mention they make awesome beer. 10/10.
Love this spot! Great location, great food and of course great beer!
Good beer Great food Lots of outdoor seating in the warmer months The inside can get crowded very quickly
We randomly picked Artisanal Brew Works since it was near our hotel, and it ended up being a great choice. The patio was perfect for bringing our dog, and there was live music the night we stopped by, which added to the fun vibe. We had such a good time that we stayed for hours! The food seemed good—my husband had a Cubano sandwich that was delish, and I just had a pretzel, but it was tasty. The server even brought a big bowl of ice water for our dog. We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back.
Walked in and was greeted immediately! We went over a few brews and found the delicious Daily Double IPA!!! I had a smash burger LTO sharp cheddar and a fried egg and it was slamming!! There pickle chips are freaking awesome! The place is nice...the random people in here are great!!! Please make this a stop on your schedule of great times!
Really good beer! A great find! Atmosphere is laid back, lots of seating inside and outside. The guy at the counter is very serious and could use some humor or more of a welcoming attitude but maybe it’s bec I’m visiting from the south. Either way I loved having their beer! And they don’t charge you for stickers which I always appreciate!
Great place for a post mountain biking ride (Trailhead is behind the brewery). Friendly staff. Many fun events. Good beer. Good patio
Delicious beer, always among the best I’ve ever tried. The food is also usually outstanding. Today, the baked chicken wings with sticky Asian sauce were really good. Great serving size, cooked perfectly, and amazing flavor.
So in love with this brewery! I was on the hunt for a location to host my husbands 40th birthday party. I stumbled across this brewery and it was love at first site. I reached out and all correspondence was fast and pleasant. Jen was so amazing waking me through the procedure, what they have done before in the past, what to expect etc. The space is clean, bright and wonderful layout. The beer was fantastic and they even had a great wine selection. All my guest loved the brewery and we have been talking about the party ever since. It was the perfect place for our event. We cant wait to go back and just hang out on their great patio for a relaxing night. Thanks so much for making my party so easy and fun!
great drinks, great service, great food. simply a great spot
Absolutely phenomenal brews! We spent a lovely evening on the patio enjoying an excellent blues duo and some top-notch hospitality from Jen, Nate and the crew. Restaurant is being developed, but don't let that stop you from getting to the taproom and tasting some of the best beer around. We look forward to coming back!
Good beer, nice folks, with a very comforting small local business vibe
This spot has always had great beer and a cool atmosphere. But now you can add GREAT FOOD to that list. The new menu is tasty and unique. The service is always super friendly and we always leave with a smile on our face! We will be back soon!
We absolutely Artisanal Brew Works! The employees were friendly and welcoming, wanting to take care of any needs we might have. The bistro food and craft beers were awesome. Our dog, Kona felt welcome too, and loved getting to run up the bike trail right off the parking lot!
I really enjoyed their last spot that allowed outdoor sitting in a casual manner. The current spot is behind a car dealership in a strong contrast to that it was. What it is currently still is nice but just different. Has a brewery/bar/restaurant feel. Beer is still wonderful and we still enjoy stopping by.
Staff was prompt and nice. Beers and Cocktails were good. We enjoyed walking through the lighted trees they had for a fundraiser they were doing.
This place is great. Firstly, the prices are incredibly reasonable. They don’t have servers, so the food and drink cost are cheaper than most in the area for the quality. Great selection of beers with knowledgeable staff. Food is actually really great and came out fast. Super cozy inside with a nice and well lit outdoor patio. Trivia night was super. Will return!
Stayed here 2 nights using Harvest Host. Staff was extremely accommodating. Location was safe. Beer was delicious, very reasonably priced. NA options available for kids. We didn’t order food but the menu was solid. They were hosting a bridal shower while we were there as well. Comedy show was available as an event as well (paid tickets). We didn’t attend but could hear that people seemed to be having a great time. All around good experience.
Always a good time to be had here. Despite not having food or a food truck (due to local regulations and laws) there isn't anything to complain about here. Great beer and an amazing variety, especially for a craft beer place, with some of the friendliest employees around. Doesn't hurt that the space is super cozy with a wide bar and large seats with plenty of table seating available. I've heard rumors of tours but haven't been on one myself...yet. Cans available to take home to and sometimes in options not on tap!
The staff was friendly and very helpful. Only did a quick stop by, definitely want to go back and take the tour of the brewery. Great selection of craft beers, I personally loved their taproom #13 and all their sours. Will definitely be going back when I'm in the area again. Will be doing another tasting and bringing home more delicious beer. Their sours are definitely my favorite of what I tried. 10/10 would recommend friends and family to check this place out for craft beers.
First time impression: I LOVED IT! My wife and myself attended their themed adult Prom! We loved their dj they picked to host the party. We enjoyed the environment and we loved their beers. As shown in the photos, we met the marketer who took a photo with my phone when we asked to take a photo of us (Ha! Ha!). He suggested beers based on the taste. I enjoyed a lot of their beers which there’s so many to list. Especially their Warheads collection is a must!!! I drove 2 hours to go here and it was so worth it!!!!! We want to thank the owners and all employees for making a wonderful time more memorable than I ever expected. We are definitely coming back for more beers. Overall, Highly recommended!!! Getting a flight is a great way to go. Ask questions because they know beer!! Taking beers is a great idea too, which we did!!!
Stopped by today and we deeply regret not visiting earlier after living in the area for over a year now. Artisanal is a perfect example of why you cannot always trust Untappd ratings - our experience greatly exceeded expectations after seeing the relatively pedestrian average of 3.7 on Untappd. No other brewery in the greater Saratoga area offers such a wide variety of quality beer style selections - we had a barrel aged Belgian quad, barrel aged pastry stout, and a lovely Joose-esque fruited sour to finish. We didn't even make it to an IPA - very excited to come back soon and try one! The staff was very friendly, and the space was warm & inviting. We didn't have the appetite to try any food, but everything we saw looked great. I believe we'll become regular visitors for the remainder of our time in the area.
Great location and a well done, welcoming interior once you're upstairs. I think this used to be the Serrotta bike factory. Small Distillery bar is on the ground floor by the entrance. Long flight of stairs lead up to a cozy brewery bar and lounge area overlooking the brewing area. Knowledgeable, friendly bar keeper and good ales. Limited parking but seems to be enough. Local restaurants including Juicy Burger deliver to the brewery.
We came here through harvest host and were not disappointed! The beers are very good! Burgers were super good! It was a fun find! You won’t be disappointed! But… maybe better signs on the road, we drove past twice 🙃
Food and beer were EXCELLENT, per usual, and Caleb was wonderful! He was so thoughtful and welcoming! Just missing music piped out to patio. That would have made things perfect!🤗
This is my favorite spot to bring friends for good food, drinks and live music Super chill / inviting space Hidden cozy gem less then 3 miles from Downtown Saratoga
First timer here. Will definitely be back. Loved everything we had to eat and drink. The free entertainment was an amazing bonus. The potato salad, was next level and I am usually super fussy.
This Place is Great. We stayed in parking lot while traveling. Six of us found different brews or ciders we enjoyed. My favorite was the Brown Ale. There are so many choices. And then there's the pizza!. Really the best pizza we ever had. The meatball pizza was topped with homemade meatballs cut in half. The crust is perfectly crispy. The very best part of this place is the Staff! Friendly, Knowledgeable,
Very neat place with a cool vibe. Great menu and fun patio. Enjoyed our visit here and husband enjoyed the beer.
Excellent double and triple ipa's! Great local craft brewery in the Saratoga area! Awesome staff! You can order ahead for pickup and they are open for dine in! They have a large variety on tap 3 double ipa's like wow! They have a good selection of sours, stouts and ipa's! Look forward to visiting again trying the newest beer they come out with! Go get their latest release
We had bourbon short rib panini, portabella panini, French dip and buffalo burger. The paninis were amazing. The burger was good. The french dips also delicious. Great selection of micro brews.
Great food, from the pretzel appetizer to the grilled cheese and my smashburger. All were cooked perfectly and tasted great. Drinks were also outstanding! Try the BB beer-hoi, hoi, hoi!!! And my wife love the expresso martinis, especially the ABW one. She actually had two and never goes for a second!
We stopped here on our way to Vermont on a Saturday night. A nice addition to the Harvest Host program. We had dinner and appreciated that they had several vegetarian options. Food was good. We parked our rig out back on the gravel lot because we didn't want to unhitch. It was very quiet!
Discovered Artisanal several years ago at a beer fest in Westchester County. My wife fell in love with their Raspberry Chocolate Lava Cake stout, so they were immediately added to our list of breweries to visit. Happy coincidence that they're located in a town we visit at least once a year. So they've become a regular stop each time we're up that way. While they don't brew the Lava Cake often enough, they do make some other very good beers. They do serve food, but we've yet to eat there. Inside is a bit small but they do have an outdoor beer garden as well. Live music by local musicians is also a highlight. Friendly, knowledgeable staff will help you choose a beer in a style you prefer. We love to support small, local breweries and this one is amongst our favorites.
Great brewery! Amazing owners who really care about the community as well as the quality of their beer and food. Definitely watch out for their seasonal events, the Trail of Lights was super cool.
Wife and I really like everything about this place. Great beer, we love the food, and friendly helpful staff. Great people here! However, we don't get to go in person much, so we've been trying to order delivery frequently during the past 2 months and their courier (at this time, Uber) has made it an extremely unpleasant and unreliable experience almost every time. In fact, after just spending over an hour today on the phone with Uber Eats over a $60 order, only to be told by Uber Eats that we'll have to pay the full amount if we cancel an order that is an hour late (due to Uber Eats lack of competent drivers in the area, nothing at all to do with ABW), we won't be ordering from here until there's a better option. Uber Eats is definitely the problem. Hoping to see this place on Doordash someday, so we can enjoy reliable fast pickup & delivery.
Love this place! Came for the first time over the summer and they had a live band playing! Such a cozy vibe inside and a great place to meet up with friends and grab a drink/bite to eat. Service and atmosphere has always been a 10/10, it’s clean and the people who work there are always nice no matter how busy they are!
We stayed here via Harvest Hosts. We enjoyed sampling the one local bourbon and a Pinot Noir they had in stock. I enjoyed a variety of craft beers in a flight and picked my favorite for a single draft. My husband enjoyed the spicy wagyu burger & macaroni salad while I enjoyed a Margherita pizza. They have a new spooky trail accessible from the nice patio area. The host Kurt and his staff were super friendly we wish we lived closer we would be regulars. There is also a trail behind the building where folks like to mountain bike and hike.
WOW! I found this place while traveling from NH to NY in my rv. Honestly if I lived in the area I would be here every weekend! Artisanal Brew Works has put together the trifecta. Delicious food and beverages, good music and great people. The staff is both genuinely friendly and helpful. I’m picky about my beers and they suggested their American Lager which was perfect. The burgers are huge and grilled just right. I couldn’t ask for a better Friday night meal.
Fun spot for beer and light fare. Sat outside, scan the QR code and order at the bar. Had one of the stouts. Excellent choice on the beer, and fair pricing. Had a pizza and a small salad. Both good, but would try other choices next visit. Service was good, they bring the food and drinks to the table. Would definitely go back if in the area. Nice indoor seating area and a large outdoor seating space.. Los of picnic tables and a few fire pit seats.
What a great find this was today! Great band on the patio, they apparently play every Sunday afternoon. Varied beer selections, something for everyone- we love IPAs and their Saratoga Squeeze was excellent. The food was just as good as the beer here, which was a big plus! Great menu, wonderfully prepared, and well priced. Highly recommend this place for fun, food, and beer!
Stopped in on my way up to Vermont and glad I did. All the bartenders were great, especially Johnny and Amanda who helped me trying beers before getting to go. Got to talk to the owner for a bit as well, which was great to hear the history behind the place. The building is very spacious and beautiful. Worth the stop in if your passing through or if you're lucky enough to live nearby. Thanks for the hospitality!
Attended a brunch with about 30 people so we did not order individually, rather ate from a very reasonably priced buffet. The food was good and the room was great for a large group to laugh and mingle )with lots of light from the many windows). The staff was very accommodating. I will definitely come back when the weather is nicer to enjoy their patio.
Excellent place - amazing drinks, delicious food, fun atmosphere and very friendly staff. Kurt, one of the owners, was extremely welcoming and even providing us with a hiking trail located right behind the brewery. Great place to hang out and they also have live music. Highly recommend if you are ever in the area.
Great brewery! They owner is great too. Comes out and talks to you. Kurt is a great person to get to know. They offer food and beer. Their food has never dissipated and the price point is great. Their beers are amazing. They have a beer for every taste bud. Parking on site that is free. Inside and outside seating. Dog friendly in outside seating. Bar to sit at as well inside. They keep their website up to date with beers on tap.
Let me be clear, I have NOT been to the establishment, although I'd like to now. However, I just tried one of their beers that was spot on. I looked them up immediately and found they're the makers of the Sour Patch Kids beers (in addition to the one I'm about to praise), which I was instantly not a fan of. Honestly, those are garbage. I can not overstate how much I love sour ales and the sour cone(cherry) is 10/10. NAILED IT!
Was busy when we were there for a fundraiser but food was good although they ran out of things. Oatmeal stout on nitro was great.
Cool atmosphere, friendly employees. The only downside is that they were literally out of four beers on the menu, which was a bit disappointing for a brewery.
Our high school dinner get together group met here recently. Thank goodness they took reservations for seating. We usually enjoy table service but ordering at the bar was easy. Some of our Margarita people were disappointed but they had an option for wine. After ordering the food arrived quickly. I don't think anyone was disappointed. The bartenders were very friendly and helpful. The place can be hard to find in the dark as evidenced by the step by step directions we had to give one of our partyon their handsfree device. Good time all around.
The beer is fantastic, the location is great, but customer service is seriously lacking. The one man behind the bar was miserable and was sure to tell us all about it. He didn't greet us, but we asked him how he was doing and he said, while leaning on his hand, "terrible. It's nice outside and I'm in here." We were caught off guard, ordered what we wanted and went outside to drink. His temperament did not change the entire time r were there. I understand that sometimes you have to work on a nice day, but don't take it out in your patrons. Still love the beer!
Meh. Cute place. Beer was ok. Food was not good.
Came here the first night we were in town and everything was great. We had dinner and 2 beers each. The staff were very nice. We liked it so much that we came back the next night. There was a band and it was busier. I waited at the bar for a couple of minutes, and when the guy finally came over, he completely ignored me and addressed a guy standing behind me instead. That guy must’ve been a regular, because they were talking about how “Joe will hook you up.” After addressing that man, he finally turned to me and said, “what about you then?” I felt like I didn’t matter.
We came for our first visit after seeing posts about The Trail of Lights! The place is cute but it absolutely is a small area, luckily it wasn’t too busy so we scored a table by the bar but I could imagine in a busy day seating could be a problem. The band sounded great but we were glad to not be in the room with it because it would have been hard to talk. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was yummy but we felt like it took a while to come out of the kitchen. Also we didn’t know that all the food would come out at once- we thought the appetizer would have been first but it all came together. The Saratoga Squeeze was super yummy but a limited beer menu. Thought it was cool they had a decent amount of cocktails, some wine options and even tea or coffee- don’t see that often. Trail of Lights was really nice. Loved this concept and walking through the woods to see the trees. The snow make it extra magical!
They either need more help or a better system. We went on a Wednesday, decent crowd but not what I would consider busy like a Fri/Sat night. Line to order moved very slow, and an hour wait for food. Food was ok, definitely not worth that long of a wait. Disappointing visit
Pretty disappointed when we tried to go here today. Their beer is great which is why we wanted to stop post hike. Went inside and there were probably 4-6 empty tables all over the room with reserved signs probably totaling about 20 seats that we couldn’t sit in. This left no space for us in the entire place and it really wasn’t crowded. There were probably more empty “reserved” seats than there were people in there. They could have had additional business from us but we were forced to leave with no seating and the staff made no moves or suggestions for us knowing what the issue was. Extremely disappointed.
Very small indoor seating, you can't even stand at the bar without a reservation.
Pros: the beer was good and the Christmas decorations were nice. The bathroom was also clean. Cons: The food was mediocre at best. The service even worse. Our server seemed put out by the fact he had to serve us, which was ironic because we were essentially the only people in the bar. I feel like this place could have a lot of potential but could certainly update their menu and waitstaff.
I’d like to give it more than two stars. Love the look of the place, the beer is decent, but the food was awful. We had the chicken nachos and a margarita pizza, it was barely edible. I equate it to carnival food..
I, personally was not a fan. The beer was average and the setup/ordering system was extremely poor. As you walk in you enter the bar line and it’s not much space to the bar. Add that to people exiting and you have a real annoying situation.
I don't know what to say....they advertise and say come in for football...we have have a 95 in tv......with a band playing at the same time. Upon entering there is no greeting and a clumsy ordering system with people milling around. IT would be helpful to have a least one tv on the bar area...Stood around a few minutes and looked at the cafeteria type seating with no table staff.. And left.....enjoyd the old place in the bike factory.
Normally my wife and I go to the brewery and it’s a good experience with that being said today wasn’t the case. Our server didn’t even greet us and acted as if we were a burden which was extremely off putting. This was honestly our first negative experience at the brewery but it was enough to warrant a review. Typically I wouldn’t post a review but it was all we spoke about the entire time that we were there. We understand that people have an off day at times but in this case it seems like it didn’t matter that we were at the brewery. With that being said all of the beers were great as usual but the rest of the experience was lackluster at best
Didn’t even have a chance to experience this place to review it. Walked in, nobody said hello or greeted us or told us to get lost. Walked around, even picked up a chair and moved it away from the table. Still, no greeting. No thank you, we took our business elsewhere.
Awful service. It felt like I was an inconvenience spending my money by the employees. The food was inedible after 34 minutes for pretzels. The beer honestly is not great nor was the selection. I’ll stick with more quality and better atmosphere in the area. Not worth your time or business.
Gave this place 2 chances. Kinda pathetic. Beer is ok. But serves wine glasses for Pint prices. Food is dreadful. Poutine pictures here was either microwaved or sat for 5 minutes under a heat lamp. A Rueben sandwich had virtually no meat in it but loaded with kraut. And order at the bar system was terrible. Wait in line for slow service. Sad for this place. It could be great but staff acted like they were doing you a favor by taking your money.
Yesterday our large friends group chose here to meet for some drinks, food and laughs. Arrived at 2 , drinks great , food not a long wait and was delicious. House band started, we had no idea , we paid no cover for live entertainment, this is just a benefit offered. The band stated a special guest would be joining at some point. Our group ate, had drinks, conversing , laughing having a great time. Then that was abruptly ended by owner/singer of band. As he stood at the end of our table looking directly at us said “ if you have a loud talking voice you need to keep it down. Our special guest is not a rock and roll singer.” I’m sorry this is a brewery , not a library, not a coffee house at brunch, not fine dinning. It is a bar with bar music. People did not pay money to come see said special guest, most probably did not know she was appearing. Our group found this Offensive and rude. On top of that between every song the special guest asked for money to be donated to fund her 15k trip to nashville to make an album . So we eat, drink for 3 hours , are now not so subtly told to stop talking and then subjected to solicitation. Not our kind of place won’t be back. Food and drink good just make sure your party knows the brewery rules on talking and enjoying the company you are with.
