We went to L’Ortiché for New Years Eve. What a fabulous evening! Jill & her staff made us so welcome to the point I felt we were being hosted rather paying for a meal in a restaurant. The set 5 course meal was absolutely delicious and we certainly did not go home hungry. The included wine was lovely plus they had an extensive wine list for any extras that we needed. There was fizz and dancing at midnight plus watching the fireworks from outside the front door. The staff were exemplary - friendly, efficient, and good fun. I normally dislike New Years Eve but that night is up in my top 3 NYE evenings of all time. I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough. If we ever go back to Sauze D’Oulx it will be the first restaurant I would book a table at.

We had a fantastic meal here on Saturday evening, a great way to spend the last evening of our holiday. Jill and her staff were attentive and helpful and the food was excellent. I was impressed by the quality of choice for wines by the glass, and was able to get a good glass of my new favourite, Babaresco. My son was particularly impressed with the lamb shank special, and my husband loved his apple tart dessert. I definitely recommend L'Ortiche. Don't forget to book a table in advance!

We had the most magnificent dinner here last night. The restaurant is wonderfully cozy, the service attentive and welcoming—and the food was so good we barely talked about anything else at the table. We started with the capunet (cabbage leaves stuffed with meat), which tasted like a best-of of Italian herbs. Absolute must-order. Then came the plin, delicate stuffed pasta swimming in a rich, gravy-like sauce. Both plates went back spotless—we used the bread to mop up every last drop. For secondi, we had the boar cheek with rustic polenta. It was so tender it practically fell apart under a strong gaze. The lamb shank with roasted vegetables and potatoes was just as impressive: deeply infused with rosemary (we’re still wondering how they managed that), perfectly seasoned, and juicier than any lamb we’ve had before. Choosing dessert was a challenge, as it should be. They offer classic options, but elevate every single one. The semifreddo with salted caramel quickly joined the Clean Plate Club. A lovely bottle of local wine rounded things off beautifully—they have a great selection, nicely displayed on an impressive wine shelf. All in all, this is a dinner we’ll be talking about for a long time. Do yourself a favor and reserve a table ahead of time.

We had our Christmas day meal in L'Ortiche this evening, the food was delicious, the waiting staff were very attentive and well informed, we didn't feel rushed after our meal. We had a coeliac at our table and the staff were very knowledgeable about this dietary restriction. I would highly recommend this restaurant if visiting Sauze D'oulx.

Fabulous food for our family. We all had the Angus steak, which was so succulent. The potatoes were amazing. We have 2 coeliacs in our family and the wad no hesitation in being accommodated as well as confidence in their knowledge. We visited on our last night and will make a point of booking again when we visit Sauze d'Oulx. Jill was very responsive when I enquired about booking and was able to accommodate us the same evening. Many of the other customers were Italians, a true sign of quality

We visited L'Ortiche restaurant on our ski vacation. We came from Israel and wanted to eat Kosher food. We got special service from Jill who's the owner of the restaurant. Jill made special dishes for us out of the menu. She was very patient with us and gave us extraordinary service. Jill gave us the feeling that we were very important guests. The dishes she served us were very tasty and delicious. We came to her restaurant twice because we had a very good experience. I highly recommend staying at Jill's restaurant to anyone who is in Sauze d'Oulx.
