Opinions de Scotti's Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria Schenectady
Scotti's Restaurant is a wonderful family-owned Italian restaurant located on Upper Union St in Schenectady, NY. The food is delicious and moderately priced.Generous helpings. Recently, I recently enjoyed a huge, tasty chef's salad and a glass of red wine. Chicken parm anyone? Scotti's has been in business for many generations and is well-known by Schenectadians and out of town citizens alike. In summer, eat putdoors on the piazza. Always unforgettable dining here at Scotti's
My absolute favorite local place for a celebratory dinner! The food is simply amazing and the service is always top notch.
Calamari was the best I have had in Schenectady. My friend had the same reaction. My wife loved the spinach ravioli. Go early to avoid the crowds
Great family run restaurant! Fantastic food and service. Guy always greets you like you're his favourite customer.
Excellent food, super friendly service. The owner treats everyone like a VIP. The sort of place where they know your name and treat you like family. Absolutely recommend without hesitation.
Excellent food and service - always! So nice to be out at a restaurant again! I missed their spinach ravioli and good salad. Guy and his team are just terrific!
My wife and I have been dining for over 30 years at Scotti's. Delectable! Charming and endearing, but very busy on the weekends. Conversations can get lost in the hubbub.
Loved everything about this restaurant, the family style atmosphere and the food was great. Waiters very friendly and helpful. I recommend and I will come back!
The best pork chop I ever had in my life! Excellent food and owner/manager is so nice! Can't wait to go again!
The food is great. The service is great. Guy greets and gets to know all of his customers. Nice small town vibe with a fine dining style.
Excellent food with a large variety to choose from. They deffinenetly have a more cozy environment then other Italian themed restaurants but it is quickly overlooked after you taste the amazing food (I recommend the linguini and clams or muscles) and meet the friendly staff.
Wonder staff. So friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious and served timely, even though they were very busy. A must for a nice dinner in the area! Interior was also inviting and cozy.
Excellent food. We were in a rush, and they were very accommodating, great service...did I say excellent food. Gluten free options too!
Lovely, quaint restaurant with amazing food and equally awesome staff! Small, intimate dining room, not a very large place but what they lack in sq. footage they more than make up for with personality and quality! Highly recommended, you will probably need a reservation! If you happen to just walk in, Isabella at the bar will be more than happy to take your order and serve you right there! A+
I’m a Schenectady native but have lived in Savannah, GA for 17 years now. Every year I come back to NY to visit family & every visit I have to have Scotti’s! I grabbed take-out on this trip. It never disappoints! Their sauce! That garlic! I can’t wait until my next visit!
A friend told us to try Scotti's so we did. We ordered the chicken parm, the manicotti, meatballs, the stuffed mushrooms, salad, and a few other side dishes. We called it in and we're told it would be ready to pick up at 5:00PM. We pulled in at 5 and the waitress was just coming out to meet us. The food was superb, the sauce was great, and their bread is to die for. Very reasonably priced also. We'll definitely return. Great job.
We dined at Scotti’s over the weekend - hadn’t been there for a few years, and we keep asking ourselves “why?”. We made reservations and were greeted and seated promptly, a few minutes ahead of our actual reservation time. Our waiter was Santino, a personable young man in his early 20’s. My first word of advice in this: If you are fortunate enough to get Santino as a waiter, listen carefully to his recommendations about the specials, and FOLLOW HIS ADVICE!! He strongly recconended the 16 oz. pork chop, and my wife ordered it. I was dead set on my favorite Italian entree, Eggplant Parmesean, and although I was not disappointed, my wife was enthralled with her choice, and offered me a small piece. It was incredible!! The service was outstanding, with water refreshed regularly. Salads were promptly delivered and fresh - my only suggestion to management might be to offer a Ceasar salad option, but the lack of it won’t alter our plans to return to Scotti’s. We ordered a bottle of Merlot which complemented both of our selections, and we also enjoyed the freshly baked bread, which I believe is baked on premise. It was piping jot and delicious. We topped off our meal by splitting a generous piece of Tiramisu for dessert, which was also fabulous. Scotti’s is on Union Street in Schenectady. Parking is easy on nearby side streets, and if you go, you will thoroughly enjoy the experience!
Tonight we ate dinner at Scotti's. Everything was wonderful! My stepmom had the pork chop special. The porkchop was perfect, seasoned and served with spinach and peppers. My chicken parm was delicious and HOT from the oven! Excellent! The staff was friendly and accommodating and our waiter was awesome. We highly recommend Scotti's!
Delicious food, great service. Got the calimari steak which was a treat, I've never seen it anywhere else - crispy and tender, quite the surprise. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a great Italian meal in Schenectady.
A great restaurant. Cozy atmosphere . A good selection of options for a small restaurant. A nice tossed salad included in price of entree. Becoming rare thing.Had veal milanase, done nicely. I liked the option of fresh broccoli in place of a pasta. A good value . PARTYof 4 entres,4 adult beverages, 2 desserts. $50 ea including tax and tip. Also, reasonable size entres.
Been waiting to eat here for a few months, and finally had the chance. As expected, everything from the 50 year old Schenectady treasure was absolutely fantastic! The interior was dimly lit and cozy. The staff were friendly and professional. And the prices were very reasonable considering the high quality of the food. We started out with the butternut squash ravioli, which were nestled in a sweet and delicious white sauce, that had a hint of cinnamon. Next we moved onto a yummy traditional Antipasto which included salami, olive, and some provolone cheese. Then I had a few stuffed mushrooms, which were really hot and delicious ~ I recommend asking for a little balsamic reduction on top of them for some extra punch. For entrees, three of us went with the Chicken White Wine, which was a tender chicken cutlet with mushrooms, wine, and butter; all topped with mozzarella. It was freaking delicious and a hearty portion as well! It came with a side pasta, but you can get broccoli if you'd like to keep it a little lighter. The pasta was perfectly al dente, with a great tomato sauce. Finally, we finished with a plate of wonderful desserts from a local vendor. All of which were amazing. My personal favorites were the pumpkin cheesecake and the spumoni ice cream ball, while my friends marveled at the heavenly tiramisu. Overall, a really positive experience, and I can't wait to go back for more.
The quality of the culinary skills is unmatched by more than 2-3 other Italian restaurants in the Capital District. The skill and congeniality of the wait staff was also "top shelf." The dining room is very cozy, so reservations are *strongly* recommended.
Wonderful staff and great food. Make sure you call for a reservation if you are dining in. It is well worth it. We had pizza and the white wine chicken and it was fantastic.
Best Italian in Schenectady! Went back to back nights! First night for drinks and apps and second for dinner with friends. Did not disappoint! Food is amazing and staff is just as good Will definitely be back.
Not gonna lie, but I LOVE their pizza! I’ve known the owners since childhood, and they make OUTSTANDING DELICIOUS PIZZA!!!! A very special thank you to Guy, Paula, Sonny & Izzy Sementelli for making the best pizza this side of the Mohawk & Hudson Rivers!
The chicken white wine is fantastic. The restaurant is smaller, but the food is excellent!
Great Italian restaurant with a relaxing upscale atmosphere. The veal parmesean is delicious. This is a memorable experience with good food and great service.
Awesome experience. Santorino was great! Food was delicious, first time and we will be back! Thank you Joe Scotti for sharing your Dad’s story with Tia and I.
Omg - delicious! We definitely ordered too much because the menu is wonderful! Appetizers and main courses were incredible, as were the desserts (yes, we got it all - and boxes to go!). They offer great nightly specials as well. Portions were large and filling. Servers and owners are all very friendly and welcoming. A beautiful atmosphere where you feel comfortable and at home.
My son and I had dinner there tonight everything was so good the lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs was so good and the sauce was perfect also had a slice of cheesecake that was delicious and fresh the owner Guy and his staff are amazing excellent food and service I'm definitely going back
My mom and I went to Scotti's on a spur of tge moment great atmosphere! Food delicious gourmet style. Isabella our bartender was fantastic, drinks amazing!! We will return with the rest of the family. And the owner was Fabulous and welcoming!
First time going here. Service was great, with a very friendly atmosphere. The food was AMAZING!!! Maybe my new favorite Italian restaurant in the area.
What a fantastic restaurant! The food The service The atmosphere Our family has loved coming to this small gem on upper Union St for years, ever since it was just a small pizza place. Now there is a top notch menu with great Italian dishes, sure to please anyone who likes quality Italian food. They have enclosed the front patio for additional seating all year round, so there isn't too long of a wait. If you haven't tried Scotti's, what are you waiting for?
Came across Scottie's by accident, I'm glad we did, great atmosphere our server was top notch, the food was exceptional, I had the lasagna my wife had ravioli Isabella the owner came out to us boxed our leftovers and made pleasant conversation, we took 2 deserts home with us, lemon cake and cheesecake . Great place! I will be returning.
I try to go there once a week, as I enjoy the food and all of the servers. I haven't had a thing on the menu that would rate lower than an 8. The cooks know how AL Dente pasta should be prepared. The 10's for me are The anti pasta for two, The Cherry peppers appetizer, The chicken cutlet dinner, and the Pork chop. Deserts are also excellent, I almost always take something home. If there's any criticism, I wish there was a steak on the menu, and my favorite pasta Rigatoni.
Excellent food and excellent service. Food worth every penny.
It had been a number of years since I'd been to Scotti's. When my wife and I lived a few blocks away, we would go a few times a month. I was so happy that it was still the gem that I remember. The food was prepared wonderfully and was nothing short of delicious (I had the pork filet pizziaola special, and stuffed cherry peppers appetizer); and the staff, including the owner who came by several times to my table, are still excellent and very attentive.
It's a small, maybe 15-20 tables, softly lighted venue that takes no reservations. Like any other restaurant, if you stay away from the alcohol, the prices are reasonable. The food is as good as I've tasted and at the end of the meal the young chef greets us and asks us if we enjoyed our meal. The four of us always give an enthusiastic two thumbs up each. The wait staff are very helpful and attentive.
This is kinda my go to place for dinner. Excellent food, wonderful servers, easy going atmosphere. But if you want a table, make sure to make a reservation no matter the day.
We were back after many years for dinner on a recent Saturday evening. The experience hit all the categories with high marks. Food, drinks, wait staff, ambiance, all 5stars. Returning soon. 😋
Food and atmosphere is excellent. Service was impeccable and the chef is top notch. I had the brined pork chop special. Fall off the bone and juicy. Thick cut too. My wife had the vodka penne with chicken. Outstanding. We both had the cheesecake which is made in house by the chefs daughter. This girl has a future, I'll be waiting to see her cakes in stores as good as they are. Definitely be back.
The food was absolutely delicious, the service was fast and so nice, the environment was warm and welcoming... just all around an great experience. I've driven by so many times and I'm really glad we made our way in finally. Didn't have time for dessert tonight, but that'll be something extra to look forward to next time!
We went to dinner at Scotti's recently and it was incredible. I had the Veal Gaetano and my wife had the Chicken with white wine. Both were superb ....the veal tender and perfectly cooked and the chicken moist and delicious. The sides broccoli and linguini were an excellent complement to our dinner. To top it off we had the tiramisu and it was easily the best tiramisu of any restaurant we've visited. Kudos to the owner and staff for a great evening!
Wow! This place was incredible. I had chicken Parmesan and my bf had manicotti. We both loved our dinners. The bread was yummy. Even the salad and salad dressing (blue cheese) was yummy. Service was great. We will definitely be ordering from here again, soon.
Best food and wine! Given the quality of the good, very reasonable prices. Well worth a visit and don't forget to say hi to the amazing owner! Thanks for the great hospitality and lovely food. We had the clam chowder, chicken and egg plant lasagna, wine and that hot bread straight from the oven. Amazing.
This place is the most amazing food. Their Scotti’s marinara sauce is amazing! I tried their Pizza with Scotti’s marinara sauce and it was addicting. Nice place for a date night or friends night out. There’s an inside and outside option, the outside option is cute and cozy. Definitely recommend.
Our favorite family place to go. The food is made to order and taste great every time. They make you feel like family.
I thought i was impressed with Johnny's Restaurant in Schenectady as one of the best Italian restaurants around. I found one even better Scotti's Restaurant in Schenectady. Johnny's is good but Scotti's is GREAT. do yourself a favor and check it out. Started with a nice salad, then Mussels as an appetizer and finally home made manicotti, including home made pasta for dinner. Amazing, would HIGHLY recommend.
Went here with coworkers for dinner. The service was fantastic, can't say enough about how pleasant the staff was. Ordered the pork dinner special, it was phenomenal. Would definitely come back. Reservations are a must, this place was packed on a Wednesday evening, for good reason.
My first time at this establishment. They were so patient when half our large group was delayed. Everyone was very happy with the meal they ordered. The food was hot and fresh despite the late hour. Our server was both helpful and personable. And she took a great picture for us.
The food was PHENOMENAL! I started with a Caprese salad (had pepper shooters on it), he had the Minestra. Main course I had scallops with linguine in a Fra Diavlo sauce, he had the big pork chop with cherry peppers spinach and mushrooms. The owner/chef came out to see if we were enjoying our meal. It was our first time here, FREAKING PHENOMENAL!!! We will be back.
Scottis Restaurant is outstanding. The Mussels Marinara Fra Diavolo is one of the best dishes I’ve ever had—perfectly cooked with a bold, spicy sauce. My wife loves the veal parm. Owner Guy is an excellent chef and a genuinely great person. Service is fast, friendly, and attentive. Highly recommend and will be back.
Visiting this restaurant, you truly feel like part of a big Italian family. Founded back in 1966, it has preserved traditions passed down through generations. Everything here is made with heart: the dishes taste as if they were prepared for their own loved ones, and the atmosphere is filled with warmth and hospitality. A special delight is having the chance to personally meet and talk with the owner and his family, which makes every visit even more genuine and welcoming. This is truly a place created by a family, for families. Each visit is a celebration of flavor and authentic Italian culture. Without a doubt, a solid 5 stars!
Love everything about Scotti's from the food to the owners/staff and the atmosphere. The marinara pizza is always incredible, the sauce is like nothing I've ever had before. In the fall they usually have butternut squash ravioli as a special, also incredible! The chicken parm and ziti are amazing also. Generous portions and well priced. One of our favorite restaurants in Schenectady!
My husband and I have been patrons of scotti's since 1998. He has recently passed and our son and I decided to have a go at Scotti's again, you never disappoint. Dinner was wonderful , it was my son's first time there and he was truly pleased. He said we'll have to do this again. Everything was delicious. Gil and his family make it a lovely experience. Thank you Karen McElroy
Dining here for the first time and it was overall a good dinner & service. The service was surprisingly slow, for ordering, waiting for refills and dinners, because it was not that busy— however all of the staff were incredibly nice and personable. The long wait didn’t tarnish the evening. We had a party of 6 and our table was a comfortable atmosphere for talking. Food was very good with no complaints. Would recommend & would return.
Once we entered we were greeted and taken to our table, had no reservations. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful towards my kids. We sat near the door to the kitchen. One of the cooks was playing with my kids, pretending he was going down an elevator from behind the door. He made their night, they loved the food and atmosphere. I had ordered shrimp pasta, 10 out of 10. If I could I would of licked the plate clean.
I can't recommend Scotti's Restaurant & Pizzeria enough, especially for anyone staying at the Mansion at Rebecca's Fountain. I had the pleasure of trying their porkchop and it was absolutely delicious! The service was impeccable and the overall dining experience was excellent. Every time I recommend Scotti's to guests, they are never disappointed. It's simply the best Italian cuisine in Schenectady. I highly recommend stopping by and giving it a try! We went to eat at Scotty's to celebrate our engagement recently and it was absolutely phenomenal! The staff was so nice, they made you feel like you were at home. My Christmas martini was amazing, my fiancé got the beans and greens soup, said it tasted just like his Grandma used to make. The penne vodka was the best we have had. The dessert also did not disappoint! Will definitely go back again. Be sure to call ahead for reservations as they are very busy because they are so good!!
My coworkers and I went here after a long day at work and we ordered four dozens of fresh steamers! It really tastes good with the sauce, however I thought it would need a bit more seasoning. Then, we had a drink right after and I ordered the winter martini, which was also good. Lastly, the staff were nice and friendly.
Okay, so came back for a second time off of a disappointing first try and was blown away. The veal was spectacular, the mushroom sachetti is probably my new favorite app of all time, and our server was unbelievable. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing this veal was, Thats a really good sign your at a really good place.
Scotties is one of my favorite Italian places in the capital region, and there are a lot to choose from. From the steaming hot, freshly baked bread, to their wonderful appetizers and specials. I love it all. One of my favorite things on the menu is the Porcini Mushroom Sacchetti. I could eat those little pasta dumplings filled with mushrooms in a cream sauce three times a day, and never get tired of them. I may wind up weighing 600lbs, but I'd be a very happy person. I'm also a fan of their lasagna, ravioli, chicken parm, and chicken cacciatore. Oh and now they have a full bar with amazing martinis! Totes delish!
Great people run this place. They are passionate about food. This isn't a 5 start restaurant but is great for the family. 5 star restaurants are elegant, exclusive and expensive and Scotti s isn't not that. Check it out!
First time here. VERY LOUD. Ordered pizza was pretty good. Seems a bit pricey for pasta dishes that aren't homemade. The noise is a deterrent for me way to loud thought I was at a pub.
Haven't been here in a while food was excellent the only drawback was the food came out way to quick had barely touched our salad and our entrees were delivered we well still go back good waitress and bartender
Everything was great, a little loud in the front with a large group next to us so the wonderful staff moved us. The food was delicious!
I love the food and the staff, but the place is too small and quickly gets very crowded and uncomfortable. Time to find a bigger building!
The food is good. However, because the restaurant is so small, the tables are very close to each other in an open room. Everyone hears everyone else's conversations and it can get noisy. The outdoor patio is pleasant in nice weather.
Had dinner tonight. Food, as always, was spectacular. Perfectly cooked, piping hot. Home-made dressings are out of this world. Would rate 5, save for service. Very under-staffed. Waitresses were tending bar, serving tables, bussing tables.
We were able to get a table because we got there early. The service was excellent. My husband had a blueish special that he said was great. I had a pasta with shrimp that was quite nice. Dinner, a cocktail, and a couple of wines cost $50 pp. Definitely recommend it.
Ordered some meatballs for a side. They were added in the entree. I have been going in for a while and disappointed
Who was in the kitchen Friday night? Eggplant rollatini was just a shadow of its former self and undercooked. And when was the last time the menu was reprinted to reflect discontinued items? Not a good experience.
I'm sorry but I don't know what the big rave and buzz is over, from a few of my friends, that been going there for years. Service very good but the food was just ok, we ordered the Pappardella alla Pola & the Penne alla Vodka it was basic lacked flavor and appeal. The Pizza was much better then the Pasta Dishes. But don't let my Critic keep you from trying this family Restaurant, they could have had an off day.🍷
Great fried clams! Great western omelettes. Waitress was AWESOME, short hair with a clover tattoo on her hand. She was so personable, FAST, ATTENTIVE! BUT The waitress with the bandana mask- rude, horrible, all 3 visits. We'll be back next year! HOPE WE SEE THE CLOVER TATTOO.
I went with a group and the service was great no complaints there. Attentive and accommodating. I'm writing this review to mention the chicken parm because it is not the typical preparation. For me chicken parm is a staple dish and I often get this when I go to an Italian place I've never been before. It is my go-to dish to determine if I'll go back! It was a little odd that the chicken was not breaded, rather it was sauteed plain chicken topped with sauce and cheese. Although it wasn't bad tasting, it was not what I was expecting. And for the price I think most people want to get what they're expecting, which is a traditional cutlet parm. I also tried the meatballs and they were very good.
Overpriced. Scrod was not fresh and bone dry and few bread crumbs offered nothing. Everyone ordered pizza now we see why. Shrimp were very small with tails still on for menu order. Never again. Eggplant was a Zero.
Got chicken parm and was just a breast with sauce and cheese. Don't think it was breaded or fried? But didn't say it was on the menu. Partner got penne alla vodka and it tasted really off. Service and the atmosphere was top notch though.
Good help is hard to find, and Scotti's is unfortunately a prime example of this. This has always been one of my favorite restaurants to go to! The recent updates to the patio are incredible....the food is tasty....and the owner is extremely friendly and outgoing. The same unfortunately cannot be said for his wait staff! Last night was my last time going there unless major changes are made. The waitress during my last visit was clearly overwhelmed and made that very well known, as a result the service was horrible the entire time. Last night we went for dinner, walked through the packed entrance to put our names on the wait list and head outside to wait. No one was available to put our name on the list. Instead multiple groups waiting to be added to the list were greeted by not one but two extremely rude waitresses that said we need to go outside to wait that we were in their way. We told her no one has taken anyones name yet and there are multiple different parties here not just one group. She ignored us and walked into the kitchen only to come back out and make another very rude comment about us still being in her way. The blonde waitress still refused to take names for a wait list rather said, "yah if you could make a space for us to get through and go wait outside that would be great" in a very rude tone. Its 2019 and this is a very small venue...to not take reservations via the many apps available is just out of touch with reality. Until I see the ability to make a reservation, and an elimination of some of the rude wait staff I will not be making the 30 minute trip here to just find out there is no availability, let alone to be greeted by rude employees when there countless other equally good options available that are much closer.
I take pride in my food reviews and must say I was dissapointed in what i have eaten from this establishment. I ordered the Chicken Sorrento to go. The flavor was bland and was very poorly put together. The eggplant was soggy which I didn't consume and the chicken wasn't much better. Ordered pasta as a side and the sauce was bland and watery. Bread was mediocre. I hold Italian restaurants to a higher standard being a proud Italian myself and I was very disappointed with this meal.
Our server was wonderful, it was her first day. However, when my wife and I walked in the front door, they looked at us like we didn’t belong there and asked if they could help us. We were dressed appropriately for this restaurant so I was wondering why they didn’t think we were there to eat. Funny… maybe they don’t like LGBTQ folks? That was off putting for a first impression, guess we should’ve left, but we were super hungry. I ordered ricotta cavatelli and broccoli . Why they decided to give me two crown full of broccoli with like 12 pieces of little pasta I don’t know. It was overwhelming. It said it had olive oil, but all I tasted was runny pasta, water at the bottom of my bowl, and for some reason they decided they’d go ahead and put some spinach in it, which was not on the menu! Anyways, the hostesses were rude upon arrival and they obviously don’t know their menu. My wife’s shrimp Alfredo was watery and not flavorful other than that, the salads and bread were good. Good luck with the parking and if you’re looking for a quiet, romantic place to eat, this is not that. It was very overwhelmingly, loud and entirely small seating. I was bumped in the back of my chair by different waitresses three times during my meal without an excuse me.
Very skimpy pizza! Two of my pieces of pizza didn’t even have anchovies on it. Chewy, very hard crust. Undercooked. $30 for the skimpiest pizza I’ve ever had in 65 years! It’s ridiculous! We’ve tried this place twice and thought, maybe the first time we ordered the pizza. It was just a matter of them being busy. it was ridiculous! I was asking the person questions on the phone and they act like they were being inconvenienced. Very bad investment for $30.
We had a gift certificate and owner was not sure he wanted to accept it. The gift certificate was legitimate and was being used in a reasonable time frame. After staring at it for an extend time period, he decided to honor it. It took forever for us to be served and it was not a busy time. When the food finally came out, it was bland and our portions were smaller than the people seated next to us who ordered the same thing. The owner is very nasty. They gladly take your money for a gift certificate, but do not gladly honor them. We would never go back and do not recommended Scotti's to anybody.
The last meal I was given was pasta sitting in mostly water. No taste. They use very little seasoning. Very blah. Tables very close together and noisy. On entering noticed an unpleasant odor, probably from old stained rug. The walls you are up against was dirty. Not s pleasant experience. Doubt I'd ever go back again. Gets worse each time.
Ordered Cavatelli and broccoli. Got a bowl of bland broccoli. Sadly, it was a takeout order so I was stuck. Really not hard to get this one right but somehow they failed miserably… and the loaves of unwrapped bread in the bag was another sad issue.
Very disappointed. Have dined in and food has been excellent. However, recently ordered pizza for take out and husband and I both agree the worst pizza we have ever had. Dough was cardboard, flavor unappealing and very expensive for equivalent of a four cut pizza elsewhere. Had their pizza years ago and was very good. Not sure what changed.
From the moment we sat down to the moment we left it was disappointing. Despite being the 3rd table seated we were ignored and had to ask if we could order drinks while tables around us who arrived later ordered drinks and apps. Then some awkward gentleman came to get our drink order. It seemed that we may had offended them. The blue cheese salad dressing was like water. The minestra was tasteless and the stuffed mushrooms were as dry as the Sahara desert. Our dinners came out before we were even 1/2 way done with our apps and the waitress response was I’m just bringing out what the kitchen has done. I got the cavatelli and broccoli. The broccoli looked as if it was steamed and just added. It was nice and colorful but the dish was extremely tasteless, worse so than the soup. We laid 2 credit cards down to pay and someone snatched them up without even inquiring on how to split the bill. I don’t think it’s a bad restaurant. I just think I chose my selections poorly.
• Disappointing dinner out with family. Our party of 5 went to Scotti’s on Union St. in Niskyuna to have an enjoyable evening where we quickly realized it would be anything but. When we arrived, there was only one other party of 4 that were seated directly behind us and already eating their meals. The owner was informed before we were seated that we would also be using a gift certificate. After we were seated, we were never seen by the wait staff again. We watched as both waitresses, and the owner himself walked by us for over 30 minutes never stopping by to even take our drink order. The other wait staff personnel were chatting and leaning up against the bar. After we tried to get the attention of a waitress twice, we decided we had enough. As we were walking out, the owner approached us and tried to convince us to stay. We walked out of the restaurant and were followed out onto the sidewalk by the owner and a waitress saying it was just a “misunderstanding.” However, the time to act appropriately had passed, and we left extremely disappointed. Absolutely would not recommend Scotti’s restaurant to anybody. NO stars
Service and atmosphere were outstanding. Very friendly staff. We live down the street and this was our first time here. Thats not the issue here. I ordered a $28 ravioli special that came with no protein, so I asked for a side of meatballs for an additional $8. Plate arrived with ONE meatball barely bigger than a golf ball. So if I wanted two meatballs - you know a normal portion of meat on a pasta dish - this goatcheese ravioli with red sauce dish was now going to be nearly $45?! I could go get a steak somewhere for that! My husband also ordered a similar ravioli dish with sausage, you guessed it, $8 for one sausage about the size of a finger. When our dishes came we were stunned and we thought it was an error. Wish we had taken a picture it was that pathetic. If you’re going to rip us off atleast make the flavors and meal memorable. We won’t be back, not worth risking trying the pizza to pay for no toppings if they have no problem skimping even when its blatant.
I had a take out order for four dinners I went to pick up the order I was informed that salads do not come with takeout orders because takeout containers cost money lol well so do wait staff and kitchen staff by the way the takeout containers where the cheep ones you know thin aluminum with the clear plastic top that you have to crimp together oh and then the kicker I requested grated cheese she came back with a very tiny portion not enough for one dinner I requested one for each dinner she brought them out and said that will be five dollars I replied if I was dining in I could have all the cheese I want and that salad also. Had it not been for a friend’s celebration I would have told her what she could do with the whole package!! Needless to say I will never return nor recommend. Customer service non existent in this establishment!!
