As a Colorado transplant to Seattle, this place has the green chile you’ve been craving!! Every bite tastes like home. It’s not Mexican food, it’s southwestern food. The owner is from Durango and uses his grandmothers recipe and it is incredible. Highly recommend for anyone from the southwest looking for that taste of home.
This place was great! I’m from Texas and it’s definitely not Tex-Mex, just an FYI. It is truly New Mexico/desert inspired cuisine. Hatch chilies!!!! The queso is absolutely to die for. There are also 3 sauces on the table and the mild oil based one is the bomb. The grilled chicken that came on the chicken rice bowl was cooked beautifully. Every element blended so well. The prickly pear mocktail was also great!
What an unexpected surprise in Seattle! Authentic New Mexican Cuisine that I loved. Not Mexican. Not Tex-Mex. New Mexican. I vacation a lot in New Mexico and love the food there. This restaurant was completely on point. Had the green chile cheeseburger (the official state food of New Mexico) and it was one of the best I’ve had. Service was excellent, in particular my server, Magic. My only disappointment is that I’m only in Seattle for 1 night. I would definitely eat here again!
Nice wrap to our holiday weekend. Server was great. Nice chat with the owner. Enjoyed our cocktails. The Hatch Chili soup I had with the cornbread was tasty. The Three Sisters salad was perfect. I had a big lunch so these choices were just what I needed.
This is a great New Mexican menu. If you are not familiar with Hatch Green chile, you should try this spot and if you are familiar you should make this spot a regular! The owner stopped by our table several times to ensure we were satisfied and the staff was super friendly! Amazing cocktails to accompany their great food
Best tacos, rice & beans I've had... probably ever. Tastes fresh, good portions, well priced. Appreciate the GF options - popcorn chicken is awesome, so good I had to get an order of the chicken to go for an evening snack.
Brunch here is so delicious - table set with three house salsas (sauces, not dips), and you're in good hands whatever you decide. A bowl of the hatch green chile soup is rich, filling, and plenty for two. The chicken and corncakes were the best take on chicken & waffles I've ever had - I've never enjoyed pancakes more, made savory with fresh veggies and topped with maple syrup and crunchy moist chicken - yum! Service is very good even when they're busy, and the interior can get loud so be ready to shout or keep conversation to your nearest neighbors.
Very trendy restaurant, excellent laid back, competent service. The hatch chili sauce is absolutely divine. My favorite was the popcorn chicken - don't let the name fool you, though. There's nothing "popcorny" about it. It's more like chicken chunks fried in a great coating. Location is also pretty awesome. Go!
Perfect way to spend a Sunday in Seattle. The staff were really friendly and the food was great. We opted for bottomless mimosas, which came with fizz and the choice of 3 juices. Chilled atmosphere, and I would definitely go back.
Good. Great. Excellent! Food was good gave a lot of it too. Service was amazing. Yeah it’s downtown (bell town) so parking sucks but it’s worth it. Went in for brunch and got the bottomless mimosas and THEY DON’T miss!! Two bottles later and we still could have kept going but it ends after 3 also served with orange juice, grapefruit and pineapple juice. Got the Chili cheese fries not as spicy as I would like but they have sauces on the table that are really good and added a nice spice to it. My friend got biscuits and gravy. That was on point too she had sunny side up but you can do your eggs however. Large portions! Was not expecting an entire plate of cheese fries. Overall great. At least on a Saturday afternoon.
I had such an amazing experience here thanks to our servers, Neryzza and Magic! They were incredibly kind, attentive, and really understood what I was looking for. They took great care of our table and made us feel truly welcomed. Their recommendations were spot-on and made the meal even better. Honestly, this was the best service I’ve had in Seattle. Highly recommend this place, and I’ll definitely be coming back!
This was a great meal. The flavors were delicious and everything tasted just right. I really enjoyed it and would happily eat it again.
First time at Hatch Cantina and the food and service I experienced today will have me coming back for more. A friend and I shared a breakfast burrito with sausage and their hatch Chile, breakfast gravy and sauce, and the crab flautas. Ingredients and flavors were fresh and sassy! My friend enjoyed the hatch Chile bloody May. Nya was our server and was super kind and gave us solid recommendations. Thank you, Hatch Cantina!
If you’re a fan of bold flavors, Hatch Catina is a must-visit. We tried a variety of tacos — the shredded beef was tender and savory, the mahi-mahi was perfectly cooked with a fresh, bright topping of pineapple and mango, and the chicken was juicy with just the right seasoning. The standout of the night, though, was the Hatch chile stew — rich, flavorful, and exactly the kind of comfort food you hope to find served with the jalapeño cornbread. It was moist with just enough heat and was awesome alone but even better when dipped in the stew. The guacamole was incredibly fresh and well-seasoned. On top of the excellent food, the service was attentive, friendly, and efficient. The space itself is beautifully decorated — a warm, welcoming atmosphere with modern Southwestern touches that make it feel special without being overdone. Although we did not have any, the table next to us was highly recommending the margaritas that they serve on tap as well as the tequila specials that they offer. Highly recommend for anyone craving quality Tex-Mex with a Hatch chile twist. I’ll absolutely be back.
Stopped by for late night happy hour and was here till closing. Pretty big space with tvs and great food! The tacos were amazing! The rice and sauce inside were so tasty, and at the happy hour price, it was a steal. Comes with rice and beans as well, which is always appreciated. I asked for hot sauce, and they have 3 options that range from mild to hot, but all pack flavor. The $9 margaritas for happy hour were made so well and tasted better! Had the blood orange and prickly pear margaritas. We will definitely be back!
Delicious carne asada! The steak is tender, the rice is flavorful with nice sticky texture, and the freshly made corn tortilla is a perfect complement. Everything comes together well.
Atmosphere, food, and service were incredible. Nya was super attentive and helpful! Went there for brunch twice during my visit to Seattle. Great place to take friends. I had the French Toast and the Americana Breakfast. Prickly pear margarita and espresso martini were on point. Magic makes some amazing drinks. If you need recommendations, just ask. I'll be back!
Great food! I had the carnitas burrito with red sauce. Absolutely awesome! Rice and beans were in the burrito, not on the side as I was thinking. Not that I didn't like it, I really enjoyed it. The rice has a hint of cinnamon that really goes well with the pork as well as the red sauce. But, I really like beans on the side, so I ordered them. Great! I am looking forward to later 😂, my wife is not 😱. The chips and salsa were very good as well. Everyone in our party of 8 (2 kids) really liked everything we had. I highly recommend this place if you like Mexican food that is amazing.
We had a great quick luncheon before heading to the space needle. We ordered Carnitas tacos (only two) with rice and beans which were surprisingly great! 3 different salsas and we ordered a hamburger from the kids menu. Great facilities clean washrooms and friendly staff. Def a place to visit again!
Went there with a friend and we enjoyed the burritos. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Gratuity is already added on the bill and they are transparent and proactive about telling customers that upfront.
Heck yes! FINALLY I’ve found a place in Seattle with green chili that tastes like home. I moved to Seattle from Colorado a year ago and this place warmed my heart in the best way. The green chili must be had! It’s probably the best I’ve ever had to be honest (and my husband is a chef). The chef is from Colorado, hence my desire to eat here. Everything we had was amazing. The fresh corn tortillas, the chili fries which reminded me of poutine and was absolutely phenomenal. The rice and beans were also incredibly amazing. I can’t say enough about this restaurant in terms of the menu. Also, the chef is super kind as well as the rest of the staff. I can’t wait to come back for more! Thank you, chef!
I came here during happy hour, which goes until 6pm on weekdays. I got the classic $9 margarita, which packed a punch. Very delicious. I also got the carnitas and skipped the side dishes. It came with 2 tacos. The tacos were not what I was expecting. The corn had a bit of spice to them and the cheese was a great combo. The service was fabulous, the server was accommodating and attentive. It was a great place to try out as a traveller.
This place deserves a higher rating. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. We liked all of our food - tortillas and guac were very fresh. The chile stew with pork shoulder and the brussel sprouts were A+. The popcorn chicken was too salty but based on this experience we'll be back to try the tacos and burritos.
Food, service, drinks - all stellar! I’m surprised they haven’t been open very long. The food is not typical American Mexican food. They definitely put their spin on each dish- love the hatch green chili! You can tell the Chef takes pride in the cuisine. I like their queso which again, is not typical melted white cheese w whole milk. It has a unique texture and flavor which I really enjoyed, especially when paired with their guac and salsa! All of which are delish! The entire staff from managers to bussing are extremely friendly AND helpful. Our server was attentive to our needs and kept an eye on us for when we sent those cues that we need their attention. The drinks… I’ve never been a huge tequila person but they have me thinking twice. Their margarita’s are on point and again, have the extra creativity making each drink delish! I love the decor and vibe of the place! Looking forward to returning!
I feel a bit weird reviewing chips and salsa/guacamole but they were so, so good. Stopped by for a drink and appetizer before a show at Crocodile and loved the atmosphere, bartender was friendly and service was quick. The three house hot sauces served alongside were absolute fire. The mildest of the three was almost like a macha salsa...I could literally eat it with a spoon! Margarita was on-point, guacamole & salsa super fresh...loved it all. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!
Unbelievable! 35 dollar bottomless mimosas is hard to ignore. Excellent balance Of bar and restaurant, appealing to a group regardless of the occasion. Stellar breakfast burritos and delicious quesadillas. Ideal flat screen placement if you’re trying to watch the game, and yet the arrangement of seating doesn’t force the sports bar feel.
Great experience from the moment I walked in the door. No wait for a table, my server was very helpful explaining menu items and making recommendations, food was served very quickly after ordering, and prices were great for the amount of food. Salsa and guac were fresh and flavorful, the only improvement would have been if the chips were warm. Beef in Chile Colorado tacos had fantastic flavor and meat was moist and tender, perfectly cooked. I opted for no rice and beans were served in a dish on the side. The beans were mildly seasoned but well cooked - I mashed them with my fork and mixed in some salsa resulting in a wonderful bean dip for the chips. I'd had my eye on this place for a while and now that I've experienced the great food I will definitely be back.
Went in on Monday evening to find out there was happy hour all day long. The service was great! Lively staff, I was taken care of by a female bartender, Neriza. Had to try all the different margaritas on the happy hour menu! Had some chips with salsa, was recommended the green hatch chili fries, definitely getting that again!
Been here a few times now and I've been absolutely thrilled every time, but tonight was their April Fools pop up and it went above and beyond! I seriously want them to add all their food inspired by a particular iconic Bell to the already incredible menu! Seriously! Writing this from a borderline food coma because I NEEDED a second helping! Do yourself a favor and check this place out
Hatch Cantina is a Belltown favorite. We came in on a very busy afternoon and the staff were still attentive and gracious — everything ran smoothly despite the crowd. The food is consistently delicious, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. The owner has also been a strong, positive presence in the neighborhood through Belltown’s post-COVID challenges. We’re grateful to have Hatch here. Highly recommend.
Happy Hour all day Monday. Been here twice never disappointed once. Lots of options whether you are vegetarian or a meat lover, I really liked the crunch wrap and the chips and salsa here are very good. My friend also had a few very good mixed margaritas. Bartender named Magic is fantastic. Will keep coming back here!
The food was outstanding. The carnitas tacos were out of this world! The blue corn tortillas were such a nice addition and the corn salsa on top added a nice refreshing touch to the tacos. They had live music playing which added great atmosphere to our dinner. We had a great chat with the owner about the food and he realized it was my birthday and gave us a round of shots. Super charming guy and very hospitable. Last but not least. The green chili cheese fries are a MUST try. The citrusy blast you get when you first put it in your mouth followed by the savory after taste and crispiness of the fries is to die for. A wonderful night at a fantastic restaurant.
We've had our end of year work gathering there the last two years. They did a wonderful job preparing for our group and the food and service was great. They have solid vegan options, which I especially appreciate, as well as gluten-free options. Nice atmosphere too. I recommend the Vegan Hatch Green Chile Stew and Vegan Three Sisters Burrito - Christmas style.
Neryzza is amazing. What a kind person. So authentic and a pleasure to work with. We loved all the food but fell in love with the chili relleno!!! Highly recommend the pork stew and chile corn bread.
Native New Mexican here. Although it's not exactly the same as home, it has all the best parts of New Mexico's famous foods. The queso fundido and the beef dinner burrito are worth going back for again and again. The homemade hot sauces with red and green chili were fantastic. The staff, including the owner, were warm and inviting just like restaurants in the land of enchantment 🙂
Great vegan options, that change from time to time. Have had the cauli-al pastor and it is very tasty but some times can lose flavor, the burritos have been my favorite, and you can’t go wrong with either sauce on top. Even the “Christmas” sauce, red and green is a way to get a different feel for the flavors. The hot sauce tray is great also, all made in house. Simple chips and salsa doesn’t disappoint either, the Guac is just okay imo, I know that is something that each have different taste for. And I haven’t had a bad margarita yet, the bartenders are amazing! Friendly, and great to chat with. Have even done a big group outing there and they took great care of us. Hope you enjoy it also, I know I frequent a lot!
Checked out Hatch Cantina during happy hour and really enjoyed the vibe! The margaritas were top tier! They were strong, flavorful, and well-balanced. Definitely the highlight of our visit. We also tried the queso, which had a slightly different texture than I’m used to, but still tasted great. For food, I ordered the chicken and cheese rolled tacos. Unfortunately, they were a little too cheese-heavy and light on the chicken, which was disappointing. My husband got the crunchy tacos and felt they were just okay. Nothing particularly stood out . That said, the happy hour prices made it worth a try. The staff was super friendly and attentive, and we sat at the bar which had a great atmosphere. I’d absolutely come back for the drinks and might give the main menu another shot next time. It seeing like a good spot to unwind and explore more of what they offer.
Hatch Cantina is a great spot to hang out with friends or office colleagues, though I wouldn’t recommend it for kids. The neighborhood outside feels a bit shady, but once inside, the restaurant’s service more than makes up for it. The staff was incredibly accommodating and attentive. I ordered a spicy drink, but it turned out to be too hot for my taste. When I mentioned it to the owner, they immediately offered to replace it with a less spicy option, which I really appreciated. It’s rare to find such flexibility and attentiveness. The vegetarian tacos I ordered were delicious and packed with flavor. Overall, I was impressed by the warm hospitality and excellent service, and the food definitely hit the spot. Hatch Cantina is a good choice if you’re looking for a laid-back place to enjoy drinks and good food with friends.
Two words. Bottomless. Brunch. I came with two friends at 11am on a Saturday and we were seated with champagne almost immediately. Three bottles and some delicious food later and we were making our giggly way back home. If you're looking for a drunk start to your morning, then look no further. As for food, they have a great variety of both American and Mexican breakfast options. The food was hearty which was very necessary to power through the mimosas. And they had some fun twists on breakfast staples like adding corn and hatch chilis to the biscuits and gravy. I also appreciated the salsas they provided, which allow you to adjust for heat to your liking. Mostly street parking in this area. You'll probably have to drive around a bit for a spot. Don't drink and drive, kids.
Great place for Margaritas!!! The salts are incredible. Which is a weird thing to say but it’s a fun touch. My friend and I had the Green Chili Fries and the appetizer ribs. Green chili fries I could eat all day every day. Perfect amount of sauce and spice. The flavor profile was well balanced with the cotija. Ribs, were good. A little too sweet for my taste but we’ll cooked and savory. And if you missed it… Margaritas are so on point!
Price: 4 Taste: 4 Service: 4 Quality: 5 Quantity: 4 I thought the food was really good. We ordered the queso fondito, green chili, beef burrito, carnitas burrito, and the tacos. Prior to coming in, I didn’t realize it was New Mexican food, so I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t super crazy for the queso fundido, but I think this is a regional thing. Where I’m from, it’s actually cheese. Out here, queso is more of a powdery base and it was consistent with what we got here. It wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t taste like cheese. That said, everyone enjoyed their food. I ordered the burritos Xmas style, and I’m pretty sure the tortillas were made fresh too. I wasn’t the craziest about the pork, as it was a little dry, but all things considered, it was really good. I think there were pickled onions in mine, which a nice touch to break up the flavor. Service was great, decent ambiance, and minimal wait. If you’re in the area, definitely stop in.
My wife and I have been eyeing this spot every time we come to Seattle. Finally got a chance to try it and we are so happy we did. The food was amazing. Truly authentic New Mexican food, not pretend like most places in the NW. I got the Hatch Mac and Cheese which was probably the best Mac I've ever had. My wife got the tacos which were amazing as well. Atmosphere was good, went on a slow night so it was fairly quiet. Pricing was on par with Seattle, kinda high but to be expected, I guess. We were annoyed with the automatic 20% gratuity. We felt that 20% was a bit much for the service we got. The server was nice but they weren't outstanding. Overall though I would definitely recommend this spot. I lived in the SW for several years and can vouch for this restaurant.
Honestly pretty mediocre Mexican food. We came here cause someone in our party has a gluten allergy, and the staff accommodated very well. Otherwise, it’s in a pretty sketchy area to walk through. The food is fine (red flag: there’s chopped up romaine lettuce in the taco). And there’s an automatic 20% service charge on all purchases, which I find to be in poor taste. The food was also very expensive for what it is. I’d say take your money elsewhere.
So we went in super excited to have some New Mexico food and ended up having Seattle food in a Zia disguise. That said, the Hatch fries were fantastic and the drinks were good. ***Know before you go*** if you arrive between 3 and 4, there is a limited menu and the staff are super busy, preparing for dinner. Considering all that, the service was pretty good. If you're not from the Southwest, you'll likely really enjoy anything from the menu and the decor is beautiful.
The food was adequate, not overly flavorful. If you’re looking for classic, spicy authentic Mexican food, this is not your place. If you have no tolerance for spice and prefer mildly overpriced Americanized menus, this is for you. My burrito was alright, but it wasn’t nearly as full as a Chipotle burrito (or as flavorful). The green sauce was much better than the red. The service was phenomenal and the interiors were nice, it was very clean. By Seattle standards for Mexican food, this place is probably pretty decent.
Cute place but the food was just okay. The Al pastor tacos were extremely greasy, did not have much char, were under salted, and generally not super flavorful. Their hot sauce was delicious though - not spicy enough but the tanginess was was great! I’d suggest a different menu item to try.
Cauliflower wasn’t great but glad there was a veggie option… Rice and beans were decent but the rice was undercooked
Honestly was pretty disappointed in this place. Had been thinking of checking it out for a while with my partner who has celiac disease. Our server was great, knowledgeable and able identify gluten free items and get us gluten free chips. First off the restaurant seemed fairly busy and our server seemed to be the only one working the floor plus someone behind the bar. She did a great job considering how much she had to handle. Our three margaritas took 15+ minutes, though they were delicious. I had the blood orange flavor. For dinner I had the beef in chile Colorado burrito and it was FULL of rice and pickled jalapeño, I assumed there would be sauce/beef visible inside but I only found a small amount of meat closer to the center. My partner had the pollo asada plate and enjoyed it though also felt it took very long for what we got. Overall I appreciate the attention to gf/celiac options but I don’t think I will be returning here considering the price and quality.
Nice looking restaurant and good location in Belltown. They provide chips with a trio of salsas which were okay. However the food was just okay. My ribeye was over cooked and the veggies served with it were actually BURNT. The other items our table ordered were just okay. The sauces they use lacked flavor and kind of not what was expected… just seemed off. I guess that was their style or rendition of the menu items, it was just not hittin. I did mention this to the manager on duty, and they were so kind to provide a gift card in the value of my meal.
Service: what service? I've been in multiple times and the only thing that's consistent is how long it takes for anyone to perceive your existence. Don't go unless you don't mind waiting an extra 15-20 minutes to place an order. Food: there's a hole-in-the-wall Hispanic taco shop half a block away with better pricing, quantity and quality of flavor. Atmosphere: it's the Bucca de Beppo of Hispanic restaurants, minus the amount of pictures. I've tried to give them my time and multiple chances, but as someone in the industry, the words "sense of urgency" isn't in the venacular.
