Opinions de Pretty bar Milano
There are a lot of really bad drinks, food, and vibes at Seattle restaurants that look exactly like this and have almost identical menus as well. Honestly, I have never been to a city where the bad restaurants and bars cosplay so well. Fortunately, this bar is actually really really good. Their happy hour is an infuriatingly tiny window (4-5p), but really really good. 50 percent off of every drink, and 25 percent off all food. We had some of the best truffle parmesan fries I have ever had here. It came with a black garlic aioli that was also incredibly good and left a really strong impression. We got 8 different drinks, if you include a 3-amaro flight, and all of them were storied, complex, herbaceous and delicious. They printed out cute little descriptions with lots of great context too. That flight was $21 pre tax tip and also pre the 50 percent off happy hour. It was one of the best flights I have ever had. They have a section for amaro-based drinks. We tried two of them and they were stellar. We also got 2 non-alcoholic (N/A) drinks that were both some combo of delicious, complex, and refreshing In a sea of middling bars with $22 drinks, herb and bitters stands out. Their patio space with a clear roof feels like a lovely sun room with lots of christmasy trees. The menus are printed in these cute little kids books. This place is stellar, and you should definitely go. Please keep them in business.
I had a really great date night here! I enjoyed the variety of amaros available. The food was fantastic! We got the wild mushrooms, brussels sprouts and spicy tacos. The food was fairly priced and it looks like their prices have actually come down in the last year which is great in this economy. Ivan gave great service and made delicious cocktails! I’ll definitely be back :)
Fell in love with this place! The vibe is cozy, stylish and full of good energy. We did the 5course menu and everything was insanely good. The team was so sweet, they even brought us hot water with lemon because we were freezing after long walk. Highly recommend for a fun dining or bar night in Seattle!
Incredible restaurant week menu-- five courses, lots of options, and absolutely delicious. Probably the best one I've seen; it was clear they'd put a lot of effort into it. Interesting and extensive cocktail list; restaurant week menu included suggested apertifs, cocktail, and wine pairings. Intimate place, seems like a good place for a date. Kitchen closes an hour before the bar. They seem very accommodating to walk ins, but for a larger group I'd highly suggest to make a reservation / give them a heads up considering the intimate nature of the place and staff volume. Overall, I would recommend and will likely return.
Herb & Bitters is my comfort zone. I’ve been coming here for about ten years, and the bar, food, and service have been consistently amazing. It’s truly a gem in Seattle — warm, reliable, and full of character. A strong and absolute recommendation.
My boyfriend and I wandered into this cocktail bar during a short barhop, and I'm glad we did because I was originally under the impression that I had already seen all the bars and shops on Broadway! We had WAY too much fun with the Blackberry cocktail (which comes with Willy Nelson) and the Peach and Chong with live burning sage 😹😭 I sent a pic of it to my husband because he is a regular sage user, and he was very impressed, calling the cocktail "so next level" 😆 Our Bartender was great, and I noticed how he was great with conversation but didn't keep the conversation dragging on for too long like some Bartenders do (I mean, connection is nice but I don't like feeling pressured to hold up a conversation for the entire time we're there.) I also noticed how everyone worked as a team with taking orders and making drinks (we weren't by the cocktail station so I didn't quite see who was making every drink, but they were definitely working as a team.) We are already curious about the fancy high-priced cocktails, and we are so excited to finally know of another decent cocktail bar on the Hill! I'll be sure to take more friends. We will definitely need to try the food as well. The most hilarious part was when we were walking past this place on our way to our errand, and saw a friend in there with another friend! We ambushed him with hugs, and the bartender proclaimed that we made his night 😆
Walked in here shortly after opening and was astounded by the beautiful decor, it’s like every angle is aesthetically pleasing. Food and drink were excellent and extra affordable during happy hour, the staff was polite and very knowledgeable of their menu and offerings. Shout out to the bartenders who curated the selection flight of amaros, they were all uniquely delicious - and bonus points for having underberg and a actual variety of different beers. 10/10 approved by me industries.
Excellent bar/restaurant that is upscale and stylish while still retaining a casual vibe- drink prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Definitely one of the better bars in Capitol Hill to visit (especially if you are looking for a more upscale/mature vibe than a lot of the other bars in Capitol Hill)
If you're heading out to the other side of Capitol Hill (the quiet side) and need a quick bite and a cocktail, then Herb & Bitter Public House is a spot to try. The list of spirits is extensive and they even have vintage spirits from the 70s and 80s if you are in the mood to spend a little extra on a unique cocktail experience. The food here is really good too. If you are just killing time, the truffle fries are a great snack, but the entrees are great as well. The bar seating is comfortable and the wall of bottles makes the environment feel like a speakeasy, but it's also fun to sit all the way in the back in the almost sun room.
This place checks every box. The atmosphere is inviting and cozy. Great location with easy public parking access. Everyone greeted us when we entered and our server was so sweet and recommended some really amazing cocktails/mock tails that we both loved. For starters we ordered the grilled asparagus and beet hummus. They were unique and super tasty. Our main dishes were the Potato Gnocchi with Dungeness Crab and my husband had the Hickory Smoked Korubuta pork shank. Everything was perfect, better than expected. We will definitely be coming back, often.
The kitchen shows real talent with savory dishes—the sauce on the steak and asparagus was exceptional. Unfortunately, the service pacing collapsed, with mains taking over an hour and drink pairings arriving out of sync (though the manager graciously comped them). A specific warning on the dessert: The 'cheesecake' is conceptually flawed. It eats like a savory, whipped goat cheese mousse rather than a proper baked cheesecake. It lacks the sugar and acid balance to cut the gamey notes of the chèvre, resulting in a dish that feels like a spreadable appetizer masquerading as a sweet course. Proceed with caution
Great cocktails but expensive, most being $15-17. Good for a date night or special occasion. Can’t speak to the food but did order the cheesecake which was disappointing. It’s basically a small amount of cheesecake filling on top of crust crumbs. Small portion, so not good to share and being deconstructed, not as satisfying to eat as a normal slice of cheesecake. Would return to try more drinks and food, great vintage-feeling atmosphere.
Herby bold cheeses paired with a bitter orange wine, with a confusing ratatouille lasagna on top? I might as well be an animated rat named Remy voiced by famous actor Patton Oswald in the hit movie Ratatouille. The ratatouille lasagna, although tastes great, is just an eggplant lasagna. Also got the broiled airline half chicken. Talk about airline food, am I right? No. I am an animated rat named Remy voiced by famous actor Patton Oswald in the hit movie Ratatouille. Cant blame anyone but a fly landed in my wine
Been to this place before, the atmosphere is pretty cool, lots of space, maybe make a reservation if you don’t want to wait, it can get crowded in here. Cocktails are pretty strong and have good flavor. All the appetizers we ordered were pretty good as well. Prices seem reasonable but on the higher end. Service is pretty friendly as well. Bathrooms are pretty clean!
Lovely cocktail bar with decent food choices. I came here to meet a friend and had a nice time. They had some good selection of house cocktails. I started with the bellshire old fashion we got the truffle fries and warm focaccia. The fries were good and the bread okay. For dinner we got the hanger steak and frites. The steak was pretty good. My wife got the southern shrimp and grits and our friend got the ricotta ravioli. Both were pretty decent. We also got a bunch of other drinks but I do not remember the name. My wife took one skeleton key which was super nice and refreshing. We ended with the ginger bread cake which was a mistake. I mean it tasted good but a mistake for me. While I was thinking I am ordering for the table I ended up eating alone as everyone was too full. 😅. I also liked their decor and the overall vibe of the place.
The Food was decent and the Cocktails were great. The Aranchini balls were not great, the Zucchini fritters were really good. I would definitely return to try their mains. Definitely recommend making advance reservations! Check @AWorldOnMyPlate on Instagram for more seattle based content.
The venue is beautifully decorated especially the ceiling. The food however took a while to arrive and it was not great. I ordered the blackened fish and it was bland, it was hard to swallow, then the pea vines were oversalted. The root beer float I had was murky and had bits of coconut flakes or something like that in the drink. The saving grace was the truffle fries and the fried chicken. I probably wouldn't come back again.
