My husband and I visited this restaurant for lunch on a Thursday in late March, it had been recommended on a blog about visiting Segovia. I loved the plaza location where we could watch a farmer's market and we had a view of the Cathedral we had just toured. We sat out on the patio because there was no wait for a table versus inside. While it was chilly, the server went around turning on the heating stoves, which made it very pleasant. We had some delicious crusty bread as a starter, each a bottled water, and entree. We were close enough to talk to people at the table next to us and our food was quite tasty. Our total was US $65

One of the best meals of my travels by far. Elegant and so simply sophisticated. A classic and not touristy at all if you are looking for that. Ask for the red peppers off me ur simply served. Lemon sorbet with cava - incredible but off menu. Loved every second.

My uncle savoured the mixto sandwich, which he thoroughly enjoyed. As we dined, I indulged in two delicious cappuccinos, all while taking in the picturesque views. The attentive staff at Restaurante La Concepción added to the overall experience, providing friendly service and displaying remarkable efficiency. Their patience, especially with my limited Spanish skills, was greatly appreciated. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines relaxation, exquisite food, and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to be.

Restaurante La Concepción offers a delightful dining experience. During our family lunch in the first week of January 2024, we enjoyed a variety of appetizers that showcased a range of flavors and textures, setting a positive tone for the meal. The main course, a perfectly cooked steak, was the highlight of our dining experience. It was tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. Although I can’t recall the names of the appetizers and dessert, they were both delicious and complemented the meal well. The service was attentive and friendly, making our visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience.

This restaurant deserves 5 stars for the simple reason that it's one of the few restaurants which serves food between 4 and 6 in the afternoon. If you missed the lunch windows, there aren't many places available, but this is one of them. It is true that it was more expensive and the service could have been a little more friendly, but the food was good and the view over the central Plaza made it worth it.

This was one of the best meals of our lives. The suckling pig and baby lamb was juicy, crispy and delicious. The preset meamnu option was a great deal, the wine was delicious and I would 1000% reccomend. I wish we could have gone again!

I learned about this place through the Tapeando Castilla y León program on TV, which highly recommended their tapas and pinchos. Breakfast/brunch in Spain is as good as lunch and dinner with a variety of choices, light or heavy, that make Spain the Food Capital of the world. La Concepcion had great service, great choices and even customized to our preferences with eagerness to please. Located right on the Plaza Major in front of the Cathedral, this place is a must-visit.

The octopus with white sauce (Pulpo) was the best octopus I have had anywhere in the world. I’ll be returning for just this dish! If you are saving cash, just order the beer as each one comes with 2 pieces of bread with a potato slice on top which is Devine. Don’t go cheap though, splash out on the €25 octopus it’s so worth it! Service is a bit slow as it’s super busy 2pm. Build in time if you are busing back to the station in order to train back to Madrid. Ask for the beer with lemon juice in it.. unique! Richard Clausen

El lugar está perfectamente bien ubicado, con vista a toda la catedral. El menú es grande. Yo solo probé el cochinillo, estaba muy rico. La presentación del plato es ordinaria pero el sabor es muy bueno. Me gustó mucho. El pan es muy rico también. El servicio puede mejorar bastante sobre todo en un lugar tan concurrido por turistas.

Fuimos porque nos lo recomendaron unos amigos y fue una buena decisión. Una cena estupenda, las verduras muy ricas y el cochinillo excelente. Los postres muy buenos, mezcla de lo tradicional con cocina moderna. Los camareros muy atentos y, a pesar de estar bastante concurrido, la comida casi no tardó. Las raciones son perfectas tanto para compartir como para tomarlas de forma individual. Muy recomendable.

Pagué 5 euros por un caldo que no valía ni 1 euro (ver foto), los bocadillos si estaban de buen tamaño (8€). Adicionalmente el servicio deja kucjo que desear, poco amigables y atentos.

Viendo las ultimas reseñas me he asustado.... menos mal que fui hace 1 mes y mi visión es distinta... voy a ser lo mas justo posible ya que el lugar vale la pena. Solicitamos en concreto una mesa ( sin tener reserva ) y nos la pusieron sin problemas, el servicio fue mas que correcto, tomamos croquetas, ensaladilla y cabracho.. para terminar con cochinillo.... la calidad de todo lo servido muy rica y cocinado con cariño.... por no hablar del torrezno que te ponen con la cerveza... Otra cosa son los precios.... el cochinillo sale por 28 euros y nos pusieron 4 trocitos ( la ración muy justa para lo que cobran y lo que nos conto el camarero cuando preguntamos como era la ración de grande), cierto es que la bebida y los cafes ...junto con el pan que te ponen y te cobran están subiditos de precio...pero tambien es cierto que estas en la Plaza Mayor de Segovia... y eso hay que pagarlo. Volveremos

I feel as though my expectations that I carried from Madrid might be misplaced. In Madrid the food was delicious and the people were very friendly at the establishments that I visited. Here, it seems as though the friendliness isn't there. My buddy and I went there for dinner, and were asked what we wanted to eat even before we had menus. The waiter seemed very busy, even though the location didn't appear to be (being in the major plaza). In any case we received our food and while not bad, it wasn't anything to write home about. The price was okay, but for the lack of flavor and the customer service I expected better.

Fuimos a desayunar a este restaurante porque era de los pocos abiertos a esa hora y no repetiríamos la experiencia. Pedimos dos cafés y dos tostadas con jamón. Nos sirvieron uno de los cafés con una mosca dentro, el jamón de los peores que hemos probado, el tomate insípido y el aceite prácticamente inexistente. El precio total fue de 16€, un precio muy elevado para la calidad del servicio y del desayuno. Lo único positivo del lugar es la ubicación de la terraza situada en la plaza mayor de Segovia, con vistas a la catedral.

I had high expectations for La Concepción in Segovia, but my visit was a complete disappointment. To start, the food was bland and uninspired. The supposed “signature dish,” a roasted pork belly, arrived with a soggy, rubbery skin instead of the crispy crackling you’d expect. The accompanying vegetables were overcooked to the point of being mush, and the sauce tasted like it came straight out of a can. The service was equally abysmal. Our server seemed indifferent, bordering on rude, and acted as though we were inconveniencing them by being there. It took over 20 minutes just to get our drink order, and another 40 minutes for the food to arrive—even though the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy. The portions were laughable. I ordered a main course, but the serving size would barely qualify as an appetizer. My partner’s meal wasn’t much better three small ravioli on a plate with a sad sprinkling of cheese. And the prices? Outrageous. For two mains, a bottle of mediocre wine, and a shared dessert (which, by the way, was a rock hard slice of “homemade” cheesecake), we paid over €120. For that price, I’d expect Michelin-star quality, not what felt like a reheated meal from a chain restaurant. Save your money and your time there are far better dining options in Segovia that don’t rely on inflated prices and a reputation that is clearly undeserved. Avoid La Concepción at all costs.

Lamentable. Sitio exclusivamente para turistas incautos. La camarera que nos atendió no puede ser más dedagradable y antipática, otro camarero, un tal Felipe, se ríe básicamente en tu cara si te quejas de algo. En la foto que añado se puede ver una minicopa que en cualquier otro sitio sería el corto de cerveza de toda la vida (o incluso más pequeño) que aquí lo cobran a 3€. El vino, más de 5€ (un cuarto de la copa, que es lo que te ponen, no te vayas a emborrachar...). Ojo.

Íbamos recomendados por un conocido de los propietarios, y en principio todo bien pero nos trajeron el pulpo a la brasa frío (tendría que venir caliente y la salsa a temperatura ambiente). Avisamos rápidamente a un camarero de que estaba frío y me increpa diciéndome que normal que me lo había servido el hacía un buen rato( 30 segundos y fue otra persona) le digo que no fue él y que lo cambiara y se lo lleva de malas maneras. Lo trae a los 5 minutos recalentado de microondas o lo que tengan y con gesto burlón e inclinándose nos repetía “está calentito jajajaja está calentito jajaja….” Riéndose de nosotros, lógicamente pedimos la cuenta y nos fuimos… se llama Julio y es uno de los socios, yo solía ir una o dos veces al mes a comer pero aunque paguen justos por pecadores restaurantes buenos en Segovia hay muchos y que atiendan bien y cuiden a sus clientes también. No volveremos ni lo recomendaremos.

El servicio PÉSIMO. El camarero que me nos atendió a mi pareja, un amigo y a mí un maleducado. Llegué a las 11:50h para desayunar y lo primero nos dijo que ya no ponían tostadas. Por ello, solo pedimos un pincho de tortilla para cada uno. Una hora después y tras llamarle unas mil veces nos trajo el pincho de tortilla, el cual, la cantidad vergonzosa. Y no solo eso, media hora después de pedir observo que a la mesa de al lado le sirven las tostadas que a mí no me querían servir. Se lo comento y encima se pone brusco conmigo. VERGONZOSO.

Me sosprendio los precios que tienen en cartel y que luego te añaden 1 € porque si te tomas el vino en la barra de pié es a un precio pero si te moves 1 metro y apoyas los vinos en una mesa vieja pequeña y solo a 1 metro de la barra y estando de pie claro es otro precio! Me parece una falta de respeto y le decís me parece que me estás cobrando mal y de muy mala manera te dice eso! Es un bar típico de Segovia pero todas las reseñas son por la mala atención , porque los torreznos son muy ricos pero no pienso volver ni recomendar porque no me gusta que me traten como si fuera tonta y mucho menos sin ganas y de mala manera! Es lamentable que l atención al cliente no se tenga en cuenta y no sé controle a la hora de tener empleados !

Estuvimos en la terraza del restaurante La Concepción de Segovia y la atención del camarero de terraza fue muy deficiente y poco educada. Se dirigió a mi familia de manera inapropiada y no permitió que los niños estuvieran a nuestro lado simplemente porque llevaban unos churros, algo que nos pareció innecesario y poco comprensible. Debido a este comportamiento, me vi obligada/o a anular la bebida que había pedido y la comanda para merendar. La falta de empatía, especialmente hacia una familia con niños, fue evidente. Confiamos en que la empresa tenga en cuenta este tipo de actitudes, ya que no reflejan el compromiso ni la atención que se espera hacia los clientes. No volveremos

This is the most racist restaurant I've been in. Despite being right next to a major tourist spot, the staff made it very clear that if you don’t speak Spanish, you’re treated as an afterthought. We were left in the freezing cold while every table that arrived after us — all Spanish‑speaking — was served first. When our food finally came, they shut off the only heater next to us and told us they were closing… before we had even taken a bite. Our dishes went cold within minutes, while the Spanish‑speaking table beside us continued enjoying their meal with their heater still running. No one deserves to be treated this way, and I hope others think twice before coming here.

Waiters were extremely rude. Asked kindly for an extra plate, but the waiter said it wasn’t his problem and left. We cancelled one of the cakes we ordered, but he brought it in anyway, and we told him we had cancelled it a while ago, but he ignored us and tried to charge us for it later and kept arguing with us. Steak was also mediocre with lots of fat. Don’t waste your time here.
