Siamo venute per pranzo. Ero un po’ preoccupata di non riuscire a finire tutto, ma in realtà il prezzo di ogni piatto è giusto e le porzioni non sono grandi, quindi abbiamo potuto assaggiare diversi piatti. I camerieri spiegano con gentilezza i piatti tipici della zona.

Siamo stati benissimo, è un locale che consigliamo ad occhi chiusi. Sono toscano ma vivo all'estero ormai da 10 anni; mancavo da Siena da tanto tempo e cercavo a tutti i costi un posto 100% autentico, lontano dai classici circuiti turistici. All'Osteria degli Svitati l'ho decisamente trovato. Il cibo è spettacolare: abbiamo mangiato dei pici al ragù buonissimi, una trippa eccezionale (con i veri sapori di una volta) e una battuta di carne di altissimo livello. Oltre alla qualità della cucina, il trattamento da parte del personale è stato fantastico, ti fanno davvero sentire a casa. La cosa che però mi ha colpito di più è avvenuta scambiando due chiacchiere con il proprietario: quando gli ho raccontato che vivo fuori dall'Italia da tempo e che era un piacere immenso aver trovato un posto non turistico che offre ancora una cucina così genuina, si è emozionato. Anche questo lato umano conta tantissimo e fa la differenza. Grazie di cuore, torneremo sicuramente!

Oltre ad essere collocato in un punto magico.. è un' ottima Osteraria; il cibo, il servizio, la gentilezza dei ragazzi e del proprietario. Ero lì con un team di lavoro per uno shooting fotografico.. siamo arrivati tardi ma ci hanno trattato come principi. Tornerò da voi appena torno a Siena. Grazie di tutto Arianna

Piccola osteria nel centro di Siena. Il locale è molto carino e il cibo servito è molto buono, caratteristico del territorio e di una cucina "fatta in casa". Abbiamo mangiato i pici all'aglione e i ravioli maremmani al ragù, due piatti eccezionali. Poi tagliere di salumi e formaggi della zona. I camerieri sono cortesi e disponibili. Sicuramente lo Consiglio!

Ho avuto la fortuna di provare questo magnifico posto con i miei amici. Nonostante fossimo un gruppo di 17 persone sono riusciti a riservarci una salette quasi interamente per noi e a garantirci la scelta delle pietanze alla carta. Il servizio è stato gentile e rapido, mentre la cucina ha soddisfatto ampiamente i commensali attraverso piatti regionali/senesi realizzati ad opera d’arte, su tutti gli intramontabili “Pici all’Aglione”!!! Che dire, super consigliato!

Entro sempre con un sopracciglio alzato quando leggo "cucina tipica", temendo il solito menu turistico fotocopia senza anima. Invece, qui ho dovuto abbassare le difese già all'ingresso. L'ambiente è familiare, deliziosamente tranquillo, un rifugio perfetto dove si riesce a parlare senza urlare, cosa ormai rara. Ma è a tavola che è crollato ogni mio scetticismo. Ho ordinato il peposo e, quando il piatto è arrivato, il profumo intenso di pepe nero e vino ha anticipato un'esperienza mistica. La carne si scioglieva letteralmente in bocca, un contrasto commovente tra la morbidezza interna e la salsa densa e saporita. "Ok, ritiro tutto quello che ho pensato entrando", ho confessato ai miei commensali dopo il primo boccone, mentre loro litigavano bonariamente per l'ultima forchettata di pici al ragù, definito all'unanimità "uno dei migliori di sempre". Servizio impeccabile: ragazzi gentili che sanno esserci senza soffocarti. I dolci fatti in casa hanno chiuso il cerchio di un pranzo memorabile.

"A favorite thing": Svitati is an absolutely lovely, home-cooked meal in a charming setting in one of the best cities in the world for dining-delights! Must tries: Pici with Tomato Sauce (simple, delicious, special); Beef Stew (peppery goodness, melts in your mouth); local cookies with Vin Santo for dessert (perfect ending). We went with the house wine and it was delicious, poured from a tap into a jug (perfection). There is no wine list, but loads of bottles, and the owner is a master at matching the bottles of wine with your meal. Service was excellent. It's a fun place with an incredible menu. Try as much as you can, and go often. grazie mille svitati!

We loved this restaurant. We went for lunch without a reservation. When we arrived, we were informed about the house rules: they have two lunch times: 12-2pm and 2pm. I imagine they do this because it's a small restaurant in a city with a high number of tourists. When we went to choose the wine, the restaurant owner gave me a lesson on the Chianti wines of the region, and I was able to choose a wonderful one to taste with lunch—Monsanto. Regarding the food, we ordered a papardele with ragu, which was very good, and a ravioli stuffed with tomato sauce and garlic, also very good—if you like garlic. Dessert was ice cream with candied fruit and a chocolate crust, which isn't really my taste, and a tiramisu, which was okay. The service was very attentive and welcoming.

The start was the bruschetta classica followed by the beef ragout pasta. The ragout was rich and slow-cooked to perfection. I also tried the 'house meatballs' (Polpettine Dell'Etrusco), which were juicy and full of flavor. ​Every dish felt genuinely prepared with care. Osteria degli Svitati is a stop for anyone visiting Siena who wants real food, real warmth, and real Italian charm.

I had the best Tuscan tripe soon here. I love tripe already, but the soup was extremely flavorful. Our family also tried very pasta dish. Each was incredible- especially the papardelle pesto. Service was incredible. Everybody was so kind and accommodating. We had no problem ordering 2 dishes per person- requirement at the restaurant. We weren’t too full. I highly recommend!

Great Italian food. Very homey. Loved their pesto sauce so much! Before we went in, the gentleman informed us of the terms for their service, minimum 2 dishes per person which honestly was not a problem since we wanted to try multiple things anyways. Everything was very very good. Wish we ordered a bit more and very sad tiramisu ran out. Staffs were all friendly and efficient.

The gnocci was Cooked to perfection paired wirh the veal and pork red sauce, the pici pasta with basil pesto was a hit and the special dish Peposo ( slow cooked beef in red wine with a nice touch of cloves ) was soo tender and cooked to perfection!! We went on a walking tour today and our guide was from the Contrada dell’ Oca. He walked us through there and we loved the neighborhood and came back at night and found this place. Simply the BEST food ever. Gino is the nicest restaurateur and his dishes were amazing! Try the bruchette, even streamed potatoes were delicious. Spinach ricotta ravioli with an amazing tomato sauce and pici with basil. What a great find, great food and service. Just go!

I had a great time in this restaurant. All the staff were nice and food was delicious. I took two pasta and both of them were homemade so the texture of the pasta was amazing. And also the homemade ragout and homemade tomate sauce with garlic were tasty. My partner took carpaccio and gnocchi and both of them were delicious as well. Very nice atmosphere as well and not noisy so easy to talk. I recommend to reserve this place in advance especially if it's for the weekend ! Thanks a lot to all the staff in the restaurant!

So good that I almost don't want to write a review and make it too busy. The staff were very kind and accommodating, and the service was friendly and attentive. We sat outside at a lovely table on the street. The food was exceptional. The pastas were incredible, especially since we opted for fresh locally made pasta. The meatballs were on special and were a perfectly sized second course after the pasta. I highly recommend.

Simply exceptional. Fresh local ingredients are the star. Beautiful olive oil is present in most dishes. The freshly made pasta and meatballs are absolutely to die for. The service was also top of the line. They were timely, gracious, patient and polite. Sitting on the street was just perfect for the hot temperatures and great people watching of the locals going up and down the street.

One of the best meals we had in Italy, such unique offerings on the menu and warm and friendly service. The standout for us was the Guinea fowl which we never had and was delicious! The potatoes with anchovy pesto was also incredible and rustic.

Absolutely amazing! This was hands down the best restaurant I experienced in Italy. The pici and tiramisu were chef’s kiss — so flavorful and memorable! You get a fine dining experience for a fraction of the price — literally one-fourth (or even less). We arrived in Siena late and didn’t have time to research, but luckily got the last walk-in table. (Reservations are highly recommended!) The service was wonderful — when we couldn’t decide between red or white wine, they let us try both. The owner and waiter were incredibly kind and patient, answering all our questions with care. (Note for Chinese travelers: Pici意面和提拉米苏巨好吃，服务很好，价格也很亲民，强推！) Every single dish was stellar. I still think about it after flying back to LA. Honestly, I’d happily live in Siena for a month just to eat here.

An authentic experience of food from Siena. The place is wonderful and cozy on a great street away from the crowds. If you can make a reservation then for sure you will get a table or else go early as soon as it opens. Everyone must order two things each, which wasn’t a problem because we wanted to try a lot. Don’t miss the chopped liver crostini and the pici pasta with the house ragu. Everything was delicious. One of the best meals in Italy.

We visited this place based on a recommendation by a local and it did not disappoint. It was away from government center area off a little street. They have two lunch sittings, noon and 2pm. We got lucky and got a table. They do have a minimum order, everything made fresh, don’t expect a rushed meal. The Pici alle briciole was amazing, the antipasto were fantastic, the best prosciutto! What a fantastic experience. This was absolutely THE BEST meal and service we have recieve so far during our 2 weeks in Italy from Australia. Not only was the food and wine outstanding, but the service was exceptional. The gentlemen who served us spoke fantastic English, helped with suggestions, and provided a background on how the wine is produced. Could not recommend highly enough. Also, the price was excellent, way cheaper than we expected!!

I had Tiramisù every day in difference cities, Rome, Florence, Venice, So far, this restaurant serving the BEST Tiramisu that I so regret I didn’t order more for takeaway later. Location molto carina posta al centro di Siena, classica osteria con panchine come seduta, mattoni e travi a vista. Antipasto scelto da noi piccolino, prodotti buoni, 4 tipi di salumi e due di formaggi. Come primi prendiamo tortelli e pici al ragù di chianina e cinta, molto buoni e ben conditi. Come secondi invece: faraona scomposta, sembra un carpaccio, davvero caratteristica guarnita con verdurine e semi di girasole, buona; il peposo, ottimo; le polpettine saporite e da inzuppo. Prendiamo mezzo vino rosso, acqua e caffè, spendiamo circa 30€ a testa. Il servizio è molto cortese e pronto a darti informazioni anche su Siena in generale. Consigliato per chi volesse provare un po' di rusticità di Siena.

Sono stata qui a novembre dell’anno scorso. Il proprietario mi aveva dato un orario per il pranzo nel primo pomeriggio, così mi sono seduta in Piazza del Campo a godermi il sole per una mezz’ora. Poco dopo, lui mi ha chiamata al telefono e io sono andata con calma, pronta a godermi il mio pasto. È importante sapere che questo ristorante ha una regola: ogni persona deve ordinare almeno due portate ———ma non è affatto difficile farlo. Ho preso i pici di ragù(homemade),un tiramisù e un’insalata mista. Il ragù aveva un sapore molto buono, la pasta era ben consistente e il tiramisù davvero delizioso. È decisamente un ristorante familiare, accogliente e curato, anche se un po’ affollato. Io ero seduta nella parte più interna, quasi una “grotta”, e ho mangiato tutto con tranquillità. Ho provato questo locale a pranzo durante la mia visita nella città di Siena ed é una buona sosta per pranzare (attenti alla loro formula che vi obbliga a prendere per forza almeno due piatti a testa, ma vi sarà gentilmente detto in fase di prenotazione). I piatti che più consiglio e più mi hanno esaltato sono i primi, noi abbiamo scelto pici all’aglione (eccellenti e consigliatissimi) e tagliatelle al ragù (molto buone ed equilibrate), per quanto riguarda gli antipasti e il peposo buono ma nulla di particolare. Purtroppo non mi é piaciuto il servizio estremamente distaccato e per nulla coinvolgente che in alcuni casi ci ha fatto sentire pure leggermente a disagio, questo discorso non vale per l’uomo al bancone che credo sia il propietario, che si é rivelato molto attento, eloquente e cordiale.

Cibo molto buono, la mia recensione discreta deriva da alcune incomprensioni durante la prenotazione. Io e il mio ragazzo decidiamo di cenare qui sabato sera e venerdì prenotiamo per le 21. Sabato sera veniamo chiamati alle 20.45 e ci comunicano che il tavolo era pronto, già apparecchiato e che se volevamo andare prima potevamo. Ci presentiamo alle 20.55 circa, una coppia entra prima di noi e gli viene dato il tavolo a noi assegnato e già apparecchiato, noi veniamo fatti sedere di fronte al bancone e vicino all'ingresso dopo 10 minuti di attesa in cui "dovevano apparecchiare". Il cibo era di qualità ma la gestione delle prenotazioni pessima.
