My new favorite local place. I was looking for another sushi restaurant to try in my neighborhood. Tokyo Sushi offers fresh fish and seafood at reasonable prices with nice portions. They have a large full menu for any kind of Japanese cravings! A chill environment with tv screens. Attentive and friendly service. Delicious food along with a comfortable environment ignites great conversations and time. We'll be back to try more items. =)

Absolutely delicious meal! All rolls were bigger than other sushi spots and definitely justified the additional $1-$2 per roll. Highly recommend!!! Service amazing as well.

I stopped by for lunch and tried their premium bento box, and it was amazing! The beef was incredibly tender and juicy, and the sushi tasted so fresh. I highly recommend it and can't wait to visit again soon.

Read some of the reviews first. So, wanted to give the readers my feedback: Tokyo Sushi is my go-to place for good, fresh sushi in large portions. My grandson and daughter have the chicken teriyaki bowl every time I go with them, no MSG. I've never had an issue with my card and I'm there at least twice a week. Never had to wait, either. Excellent service, friendly and fast. Best Sushi restaurant in Simi Valley and the prices are very reasonable. I give them AAAA++++

the serving size was ridiculous. I ordered octopus and paid for paper slices of fish and charged way to much. The sunomuno was weak and should have tasted more tangy. Also paid for extra octopus. Not what I have been to another sushi place of same prices and more. So sorry to not have this place as my sushi place. I have a big party coming and will not rely on restaurant. I never have written a review. But I’m so dissatisfied with what I received and the lack of taste.

Best Sushi Around!! What a great menu! Every time I go in there, the chef surprises me with his creative combinations. We're picky... And this sushi hits the spot every single time! Plus the hospitality from the owner, management and sushi chef is top notch. Almost hesitate writing a review because I'd love to keep this place to ourselves!! But then again, I'd rather see them THRIVE. Won't disappoint! And consider reaching beyond the sushi to the baked yellowtail - Heavenly!

Stopped in tonight for a light dinner. I ordered the Brussel sprouts appetizer to start. It was good, but large. I ended up taking half home. I got the Dinner Bento. It was a very generous bento with Sush, sashimi a California Roll. I opted for the Salmon Teryiaki. It was a large piece of salmon! The benyo also had a salad, miso soup, 2 thousand and mixed tempura. All was good. It was more than a light dinner with the larger servings, but I enjoyed it. The service was good, but a slight mix up with the check that was quickly corrected. All in all a decent dinner

Looking for a decent sushi bar a little closer to home, I read good reviews on this place and thought I would give it a try. As I pulled up I realized I have eaten here before, maybe 8 years ago. I remember not thinking well of it but 8 years can change alot. Now I am not a big roll person, I like nigeri and don't mind paying extra for quality fish and good portions. I opened the menu and realize this is a premium priced sushi bar. Not west la priced, but high for simi valley at 9 bucks for 2 pieces. Better be good huh? I checked out the chef making some sushi and it did not look like amazing pieces to me. So I ordered a ca handball quickly just to get something made. It got to me extremely fast! It tasted fine. After quite a long time my salmon skin handroll got to me, straight out of the chefs hands. IT WAS COLD! Room temp cold. Now I am not exaggerating that I have been eating sushi since 1983 when my dad was working for a Japanese firm and I was surely the only 20 year old kid with sushi cravings. Salmon skin hand rolls have always been my favorite. I have eaten thousands of them from probably 50 sushi bars over the last 42 years and I have never eaten a cold one. I have eaten many bad ones but never was the salmon skin cold. The chef looked Japanese, his rolls were artistic, but his salmon skin hand rolls indicated a lack of care to me. And that is the central point of my review. If you are sophisticated to handerstand quality, and not just satisfied with a pretty cut roll smothered in mayonnaise like most, suggest you try another place on the west side of Simi or try to get into the place on tapo canyon .

I called at around 8pm to ask about their hours on Monday. The hostess said energetically they were open and haven’t run out of anything and to come on in. So we came around 8:45pm, and she greeted us nicely and grabbed two menus and was walking out to seat us, when suddenly we turned to view the sushi chef and he vehemently said, “No! Take out only!” He crossed his arms in a big X with a huff and said, “No!” again! The poor hostess/waitress and I got startled and confused and froze for a second. There were zero guests inside dining by the way. I was confused because I had just called to verify that we could eat here. What happened? So then I thought ok well I’m starving and hobbling so tired from the day I’ll order something to go. But then my husband was given a scorned look by the sushi chef and then we decided he doesn’t want us here. The waitress looked sad as I asked her about the specials. We decided to leave as we felt super uncomfortable even to order take out. As we were leaving, she hoped we’d come back another time.

After clarifying that the order was only sushi rolls, we were informed they would call when it was ready. However, we didn't receive a call until 8:00 PM. Upon calling the restaurant, we were informed that our order hadn't even started and could take another 30 minutes. This was extremely frustrating as we were ordering for a child who didn't understand the long wait. The lack of communication and inaccurate initial estimates were unacceptable. We never received a specific ready time, leaving us uncertain about when we could finally pick up our order.
