My husband and I went for our anniversary, Millwright has been on our list for months just hadn't gotten a chance to go yet. We were able to get a table on the bridge which was awesome. There were a lot of people dining but, the tables felt private. We opted for an appetizer of the chicken dumpling gnocchi and a farm salad. Got Prime NY Strip and Half Chicken for dinner. And Doms ice cream for dessert. Everyrhinf was amazingly cooked and tasted excellent. You can tell the chef put thier time into the ingredients and menu. The food came out promptly and hot. he service was excellent, we had Joe as our server. They did run out of a few items but, given we went on a Sunday night, o understand. Overall the atmosphere, decor and experience was excellent. Will be returning!
Beautiful restaurant with romantic vibes. Food is divine, delicious drinks and excellent customer service. We were celebrating a birthday and Millwright’s had many nice touches including a hand written birthday card to start the experience. I highly recommend this experience because it is much more than just a restaurant.
Millwrights is hands down one of the best restaurants in CT. Chef Tyler Anderson is a masterful chef who understands flavor and texture perfectly. The tasting menu is both reasonably priced and well portioned. Some of our favorite bites were the Tapico custard with all the flavors of clam chowder and the scallops with farrotto. I will say the service was lacking but the food was so wonderful we can't complain too much! This restaurant is gorgeous with views of the waterfall from nearly every seat in the house.
I have never been disappointed coming here and this time was no exception. Myself and two others came here on a Wednesday evening to try out their tasting menu and was so excited to hear that they were also offering a vegan option for tasting! Our table did 2 standard tastings and 1 vegan one so we could see what was involved with both. Outstanding. The food was so well prepared and high quality, I ate every bite of each course. I will say I was very full at the end, but it was worth it! My favorite was probably the small puff pastry with truffle cheese followed by the salmon. Additionally I am pregnant and was so happy to get told there was a non-alcoholic beer and 2 mocktails on the menu. Something here for everyone! Our waiter was so friendly and checked on us frequently. I only have great things to say about this place. Highly recommend.
Went there with my wife for our wedding anniversary and everything we ordered was delicious. The atmosphere was fancy and clean. The server was attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for people looking to celebrate a special occasion or to anyone that wants a gourmet farm to table meal.
Went here for my birthday dinner and it was the perfect choice. Got my birthday card and bubbly to start with. We chose the chefs tasting menu and it was soooo goooood. We went for the non- seafood option thinking we might get oysters (as we don’t eat them) but we should have asked bcos they don’t do oysters for tasting menu anymore and they had a whole other bunch of lovely dishes which we missed out on. Ron was our server and he was great, knowledgeable about the foods we got and made it a great memory for us. We were so stuffed at the end so it was a good idea to take one of the desserts home to have it later. Will be coming back to try their other dishes for sure. My only suggestion will be to place lighting a little better because the place where I sat, the light was behind me and the whole time I ate, there was shadow on my plate so I basically couldn’t see what I was eating. I had to peek into my husbands plate to see what I am eating.
Amazing Easter 3 course prix fixe dinner. Right when we walked in we were welcomed and seated early, drinks came quickly and the sever was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Beef tartare was the perfect start to a crispy skin salmon entree followed up by a delicious coconut milk cake. Surprising app of the day was the Hearts of Palm Ceviche, extremely light and refreshing. This place is first class and great for any special occasion.
This was maybe the greatest dining experience I've had. I love an occasional fancy dinner, and the chefs tasting menu definitely fits the bill. In case you are worried about "fancy" meaning you'll leave hungry with tiny portions, do not worry. You do have smaller and medium sized portions, but there are so many courses that you will leave stuffed. I loved the experience of not knowing what was coming out next and having our waitress explain the dishes to us as they came. You can tell they are mindful about crafting their menu and take great care in the detail and flavors of their food. Everything I had was wonderful, even the virgin cocktails (I'm pregnant). They also were mindful about this when bringing my food and made sure I was comfortable with how it was cooked. Wait staff was excellent and well educated on the menu and they all seemed happy to be there. We had made a reservation stating it was our anniversary so they even hand wrote us a little card for when we arrived and put 'happy anniversary' on our desserts which was thoughtful. We will be back on another special occasion!
Millwright’s has been on our list of restaurants to visit for years, and we decided to finally visit for my fiancé’s birthday! What a great choice we made! The ambiance was stunning with beautiful views of the waterfall. I had always heard great things about Millwright’s, but wow - the chef is truly talented. Appetizers of the duck drumettes, meat and cheese platter, and the biscuits were all delicious. The steaks and pork belly were perfectly cooked and flavorful, and my mom enjoyed her orecchiette pasta. The tuna tartare was also some of the freshest we’ve had, better than sushi restaurants we’ve been to! Our waiter was so kind and brought my fiancé a special dessert dish for his birthday and a complimentary champagne toast for all of us. He was even aware of the fact that my mom and I weren’t drinking and brought us sparking apple cider instead, and we really appreciated that! Such a great experience, and I can’t wait to come back and dine on the bridge so we can be even closer to that great waterfall view!
We went here for our anniversary dinner. We were met with a handwritten card congratulating us on our anniversary. Our waiter, Joe, was very attentive and pleasant. We had the tasting menu which included 5 courses of delicious food. Some of the courses were on the menu, but others were not so those were fun little surprises. Everything was delicious and we will definitely be back! Our favorite dishes were the tuna tartar and the scallops, both were 10/10!!
Enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Millwright’s. The dining room’s ambiance is rustic and beautiful and we had view overlooking the waterfall. Service was top notch and the food was delicious. I had the swordfish schnitzel and my husband had the steak, both were great. The dinner and overall experience is worth every penny and we both look forward to coming back soon.
Been here many times… WOW! One of my favorite restaurants in CT. Lincoln is one of the best waiters ever. Ask for him! Just came last night for NYE 5-course meal. Check out this phenomenal Duck Breast from NYE. So so tender & rendered fat perfectly. Crispy, juicy, & perfect amount of different textures. The poached pears & red wine jus added just the right amount of sweetness to the duck as well.
Had high hopes for this justifiably lauded restaurant. We had the chef’s tasting menu with wine pairing. Every dish was sublime, but the clam chowder tapioca dish was the most stunningly creative. The bass and duck dishes also shone. Great service and lovely ambiance made this meal worth every penny.
By far one of our favorite places for a special occasion in Connecticut. Iconic New England fare, particularly the Tapioca appetizer. The views of the River/waterfall are also incredible, although the restaurant would stand alone as a gem without the views.
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. This was both our first time and we were blown away by the food. The service was amazing as well. Thank you to our waiter Scott for his excellent service and making our first time here memorable. We got the chef tasting meal which had two appetizers and two entrees and at the end they gave us dessert as well! We’re excited to come back to try another tasting menu!
My husband and I are here for our one year wedding anniversary and we could not have chosen a better spot. Scott was our wautor and he was so excited about all of the food in the tour! I was excited to try everything because of his enthusiasm and he didn't steer us wrong. The seating was beautiful and the restaurant wrote us a card for the special occasion and decorated our dessert! Highly recommend for a night to remember!
I’ve eaten at Millwrights dozens and dozens of times. And I’ve never had anything but a great experience. Everything about this restaurant says quality — with a great ambiance. I often get the tasting menu in the main dining room; it’s great to let chefs work their magic. And the service matches the food quality. It’s never rushed, the pacing is terrific. Yes, people say to go on special occasions. True. But why not a Wednesday and make it a special occasion? Millwrights is that kind of restaurant.
Had a wonderful evening at Millwright's! The staff was amazing and recommended the dishes here. All of it was fantastic! They also have a terrific wine selection and great coffee!
Millwrights is the perfect restaurant for celebrating an anniversary or birthday. The restaurant is beautiful, the staff are extremely friendly, and the food is delicious. Millwrights has a seasonal menu. This is perfect for any foodie looking to experience a new dish every season by a professional chef. The price is on the higher end but still much more affordable than a Manhattan restaurant that is way below Millwrights in terms of quality and taste. Highly recommend a reservation.
Beautiful upscale restaurant alongside a beautiful view of the river. Full bay windows providing beautiful views. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was very good. We had a larger sized party which may have been a bit too large for the typical service here. Good selection of wines and drinks. Excellent appetizers, dinners, and desserts.
i’ve been to millwrights twice. both times the appetizers were excellent, entrees and desserts are hit or miss. avoid the stone fruit strussel bar (in pic #4) very underripe peaches and flavorless dry bar. not sure what happened there, but we love the chocolate turtle cake.
We had the chefs selection with wine pairings and it was exceptional. Service was also exceptional. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. This was one of the best meals and experiences we've ever had dining out. A perfect romantic dinner with creative and superb dishes!
Our dinner experience at Millwright’s was exceptional. Every dish came out in a timely manner and was absolutely delicious - the flavors for each dish were unique and well combined (see pictures: pan seared black bass, lemon caesar kale salad, and caramel chocolate peanut butter bar). The server who helped us was extremely kind and knowledgeable about everything on the menu, as was the rest of their staff. Highly recommend Millwright’s for anyone seeking an elevated “New-American” menu for their evening.
My only complaint is that I’ve only been here once! This restaurant absolutely deserves a spot in the Michelin guide—if it’s not there already. The service is outstanding, the drinks are top-tier, and the tasting menu is worth every single penny. The food strikes a perfect balance: familiar flavors with creative twists that never feel forced. I can’t say enough good things about this incredible gem tucked away in Simsbury, Connecticut. An absolute must-visit.
Honestly probably the best food, I’ve have ever had. That clam chowder tapioca (which I forgot to take a photo of). It was probably the best interpretation of a calm chowder. It was amazing, that first bite smile, was in full effect. The black bass, was crispy, buttery, and just over a well balanced dish. The food was fun, amazingly prepared, the chef takes a lot of pride in their food. The staff was great and overall a nice environment. I can see why the seating near the waterfall is very sought after. I will be returning!
Amazing dinner for the adventurous eater. Appetizer was the johnny cakes that were these unique cornbread biscuits and came with a beautiful garlic butter compote. I ordered the duck breast that came with salsa verde and a black cherry reduction. It was a great combination of flavors I had not had anywhere before. Clean vibrant atmosphere overlooking the river with great service.
My wife and I went for our anniversary and tried the tasting menu. We had a table with a great view of the waterfall. The timing of each course was spot on, with our waiter giving an excellent description of each. We will definitely be back!
This restaurant is magical. We sat in the room that overlooks the waterfall & stream on both sides. Amazing views & atmosphere. The interior has many beautiful plants that gives it a rustic greenhouse vibe. The waitstaff were courteous, attentive, & accomidating fir a couple special requests. The food was delicious. They do seem to focus on quality rather than quantity. Prices are a bit high for regular dining for me but it was amazing for a special occasion. This place would be stunning for a party/wedding. I definitely want to to return as soon as possible.
We stumbled about millwrights on a Father's Day date night outing exploring simsbury. It was a pleasant and fortunate outting because it was my favorite meal since the move to the east coast 4 years ago. We ended up doing the chef's tasting (because why not?) and it was delicious. Definitely on our list of places to go now!
LOVE this place! We came here for a date night after reading how good it was and it did not disappoint! Our server was delightful throughout the meal and offered some great suggestions. I started with an old fashioned and my wife had a resiling, both delicious. For apps, we shared the kale Caesar salad and biscuits and the latter melted in your mouth; so good! For entrees, I had the swordfish while she had chicken. The bread coating on the swordfish was AMAZING and the chicken was juicy and flavorful. For dessert, we had the chocolate tart and it was the perfect way to end an excellent meal. Next time we visit, we want to be in the daylight to enjoy the grounds as it’s beautiful! Cannot WAIT to return!
Absolutely exquisite. Have been here 3x. Twice for our anniversary, and once for a Top Chef guest. It has been absolutely amazing every time. Romantic. The food spectacular. The staff, talented. From the front of the house, to the wait and support staff, to the chefs, everyone knows their business. And it isn’t just business. The personal touches if you mention the reason for your visit, the catering to your needs, swift team member follow through that is on point, but not mechanical, or where you feel pressured. The experience is one where you are surrounded by the ultimate hospitality and culinary experience. If you haven’t been, you should plan to. You will not be disappointed.
We have driven by this place so many times and heard how good it was. But tonight we experienced it first hand d. Booked for our anniversary it was so incredible. Every bite was amazing. And the cocktails were so good. Had a gin and rose drink that was absolutely delish. Highly recommend. And the new fall menu prix fixe was so good. Highly recommend. We were seated on the bridge she and got a lovely happy anniversary card. They covered all the details. Worth every penny for a special night out. Thank you chef Tyler and crew for making a special night delicious.
We just returned from a superb meal on many levels. We travel and dine out regularly-at home and when away-sometimes at the 5 star places, sometimes at the hole-in-the-wall. Suffice to say..we aren't mean. I won't give a restaurant a bad review if the server wasn't great but the food was. That's not fair to either. Go back again and give them another shot. Our experience tonight was really great at every step. Our server, Jack, was warm and efficient. The ambiance was sublime-nice decor, comfortable and..quiet! We love a quiet restaurant! The food was excellent-great salads, apps and entrees-nice innovative flavors and cooked perfectly. The food was also delivered with perfect timing. Honestly-they did everything right! This is hard to do in the restaurant business. Food can be great but it's loud and the service is poor or any combo where one or two is good/great and the third element spoils it. Millwright's nailed it all. Can't wait to go again. Thank you for a great dining experience on a special night.
Excellent service and food. We dined at Millwrights this Thanksgiving and enjoyed their prix fixe holiday menu. We were all very impressed with the attentive, friendly staff and the superb menu offerings. We have never had a disappointing meal at this restaurant, and after dining here for the first time on a holiday, we all agreed it would be fitting to do so every year. We highly recommend dining at Millwrights for special occasions, or even if you are simply looking for a sublime dining experience.
An unforgettable night at Millwright’s! We were honored to take part in a truly unique experience — cooking in the kitchen with Chefs Tyler Anderson and Kyle Bryner (Blue Hound Barbecue - Dillard, Georgia). From making biscuits side‑by‑side with them to asking every question we could think of, it felt personal, welcoming, and so much fun. Dinner afterward was just as incredible: a bright and delicious kale salad, perfectly comforting chicken and biscuits, melt‑in‑your‑mouth pork shoulder, and rich beef cheeks with grits and kimchi cabbage. Every dish was thoughtful, balanced, and deeply satisfying. To make the the evening even nicer, was the one‑on‑one conversations with the chefs and the wonderful people who attended. The whole night felt warm and full of genuine connection. I highly recommend following Chef Tyler Anderson, Kyle Bryner and Millwright’s for more opportunities like this. If you ever get the chance to join one of these special evenings, don’t hesitate. It’s an experience you’ll remember.
I usually do not write write long winded reviews but Millrights is one of those rare dining experiences where everything—food, service, and setting—comes together so effortlessly that the evening feels exceptional from start to finish. From the moment you step inside, you can sense that Millwright’s isn’t just aiming to serve a meal; it’s aiming to create a memorable experience. The setting alone is enough to make an impression. Tucked beside a historic mill and overlooking a picturesque waterfall, the restaurant offers one of the most beautiful dining backdrops in New England. The view of the cascading water through the windows adds a serene, almost magical quality to the atmosphere. Whether you’re seated by the glass or taking in the rustic charm of the interior, the ambiance strikes the perfect balance of cozy, elegant, and uniquely New England. But as striking as the setting is, the food is what truly elevates the visit. Each dish demonstrates a thoughtful blend of creativity and technique, with ingredients that taste incredibly fresh and perfectly balanced. I ordered the duck, and it was nothing short of outstanding. Cooked to perfection, full of rich flavor, and complemented by sides that enhanced every bite, it was easily one of the best duck dishes I’ve ever had. My wife chose the chicken pot pie, and though it’s a comforting classic, Millwright’s version was a revelation. The flaky crust, the velvety sauce, and the deeply savory filling came together in a way that felt both nostalgic and elevated. It’s the kind of dish that instantly warms you, yet impresses you with its refinement. The desserts, though, are where Millwright’s delivers one final, unforgettable flourish. Whatever you do, do not skip them. Each dessert is exquisite—beautifully presented, thoughtfully constructed, and bursting with flavor. They manage to be indulgent without being heavy, and each bite feels like the perfect conclusion to an already exceptional meal. It’s rare to find a restaurant where the desserts stand shoulder to shoulder with the entrées, but Millwright’s accomplishes exactly that. Just as noteworthy as the food is the warm, friendly service. The wait staff was exceptional—attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely kind throughout the entire evening. Their knowledge of the menu, enthusiasm for the dishes, and easygoing professionalism made us feel welcome and well cared for. It’s clear they take pride in both the restaurant and the overall guest experience. What sets Millwright’s apart is how seamlessly all these elements blend together. The breathtaking setting, the outstanding dishes, the exquisite desserts, and the wonderful staff create an experience that feels complete and truly special. This isn’t just a great dinner—it’s a restaurant that leaves a lasting impression. Millwright’s exceeded every expectation we had. For anyone looking to enjoy exceptional food in a beautiful atmosphere with unforgettable hospitality, it’s a place that absolutely delivers.
Millwrights in Simsbury was such a lovely dining experience from start to finish. The food was thoughtful, beautifully executed, and clearly driven by the talent of Chef Tyler Anderson, who deserves major praise. We began with the Johnny Cake Biscuits, which were warm, comforting, and incredibly flavorful, simple in the best way. The Butternut Squash and Parsnip Bisque followed and was silky and well balanced, with just the right depth and richness without feeling heavy. For the main course, the salmon with potato rosti and fresh greens really stood out. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the mustard was an amazing touch that truly enhanced the flavor, the rosti crisp and satisfying, and the greens added a fresh, clean contrast that brought the whole dish together. We finished with the hazelnut macaron, which was truly exceptional, delicate, nutty, and just sweet enough. A perfect ending to an already memorable meal. Millwrights manages to feel refined without being stuffy, with food that is both comforting and elevated. A wonderful spot for a special night out and one I would happily return to.
The food is always consistently excellent and the low-lighting ambiance creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Beyond the food, the most enjoyable part of this restaurant is the exceptional service. We’ve had Heather as our server twice now, and she not only remembered us after several months but also remembered an allergy. She was truly lovely to talk to and made the entire experience even more enjoyable.
We visited this restaurant yesterday for a special occasion dinner. Unfortunately, we had an allergy incident during our dinner, but the restaurant staff handled the situation with the upmost professional and compassion. We were so impressed with the level of hospitality shown to us during our visit. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was beautiful, and we would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a perfect date night spot.
Thanksgiving carryout: The drive-thru pickup was a brilliantly organized and seamless experience, with top notch customer service. The instructions for reheating the food were very clear and simple. Food was excellent quality, and everything was delicious - there wasn't a single dish we didn't love. Serving size for the turkey was extremely generous. Ideas to make it even better: if all the dishes that needed reheating were in oven safe containers rather than plastic it would simplify the prep and cleanup. Would love larger serving sizes for only the vegetable side dishes, even if it needed to be an add-on upgrade option at an extra cost, to accommodate vegetarians. Overall fantastic experience - Millwright's clearly has a very high standard for quality food and service.
What an absolutely amazing experience !! The morning of, we received a call from such a nice girl confirming our reservation, and she asked if we had any special requests which I asked if we can please sit near the waterfall . When we arrived, waiters Ron and Noah were fantastic. They sat us in a quiet room right next to the waterfall. Since we were new to this restaurant, he suggested the chefs tasting which we are so glad we chose. He brought out the most delicious drinks and dishes I’ve ever had. We celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary and they had a handwritten card and a dessert for us at our table. This restaurant and natural decor with rustic old wood and a beautiful view of the waterfall was just perfect. Thank you so much!
I Visited this cute restaurant for a surprise engagement. 10 guess we're invited. We started off with tavern wings and oysters as appetizers. The tavern wings were sweet chili flavored and were delicious. I also ordered a sugar plum 1911 hard cider, which was delicious. Then We ordered off a special menu that they offer on Tuesdays nights. Which is 3 COURSE PRIX FIXE For / $50 per person To start | had the Ricotta Ravioli - (honey nut squash, pumpkin seed granola) it wasn't bad but just not my cup of tea. For my main course I ordered the Half Chicken -(caulilini, broccolini, almonds, lemon jus) and it was delicious. Last but not least for dessert I ordered the Chocolate Turtle Cake - (salted caramel, pecan nougatine) which was amazing! Actually was my favorite dish! Our waitress was helpful and attentive to our table. Food was delicious and ambience was just right.
The atmosphere and charm is so lovely. I did the 3 course for $50. The smoke pork was excellent but the ravioli stole the show. For I had dessert comte cheese. Not sure if they burn the caramel or if it was the pickled pear, but something was slightly bitter, which created a contrast that I wasn't a fan of. The cocktails were also very well balanced and delicious. I did book a reservation, sense I had a little bit of a drive, and didn't wanna get stuck without a table. However, at 8pm on Thursday, it probably wasn't needed.
My wife and I celebrated our first year married. Initial attempt to park was haulted by some type of fire alarm and the fire truck was blocking the entrance. Had to turn around down the road and wait 15 minutes at the nearest gas station. Once we were able to park, we were sat within 10 minutes. Our waiter was pleasant and the food came out well. Steaks were cooked medium rare as asked. The NY strip had more fat than expected which was unfortunate. Nice touch with the anniversary card and the view was fantastic. We did not sit at the bar, but took a peak and looks like it is missing some ambience and space. Overall we enjoyed our 4 star experience.
My wife and I went to Millwrights for our anniversary, and it was our first time eating here. We opted for the tour of the chef which came with 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 1 desert; the food tasted amazing so thanks to the chef! Our waiter Joe H did an amazing job as he was prompt, knowledgeable, and polite. It was made mention by numerous people that this restaurant is top notch for a romantic night out. The environment is great but, for some reason, a party of roughly 8-10 people was seated right behind us; this made it extremely difficult for my wife and I to hear each other at times and took away from the romantic ambience of the restaurant. This wouldn’t be a big deal if we were a walk in, but we made a reservation, of which, we made mention that it was our anniversary; just found it an odd choice to place a significant party right behind us. Overall, we would return to the restaurant as the food and service were great; however, for the price, be careful when making a reservation for a 2 person date because it may not be as romantic as you hope.
First time here with my Daughter visiting from out of state and very impressed with the elevated flavors , quality of ingredients and excellent service . Serene view of the waterfall added to the nice relaxed ambience . Pork Belly Appetizer was incredible and Sheperds pie with minced Lamb was delicious. Scallops, Oysters and Chicken entree were also a hit. Highly recommended and a truly unique venue . My only suggestion is to watch your pricing - a little too high in my opinion .
There were six of us and experiences were mixed but on the balance negative. The foie gras mousse was a big disappointment as it is described as “torchon” style (never seen mousse in a torchon) but it does not measure up to that dense flavorful delicacy as the outcome is blandly overmousse-y and not enough foie gras, swimming in a sugary sauce that overwhelms the remnants of the foie gras flavor. It also looks sad on the plate. The wings were good. The duck breast was so-so and the scallops were accompanied by a dense risotto and mushroom sauce which turned what should be a delicacy into a density. The crusted chicken breast was good as was the burger. See the pictures. So the Millwright does comfort food pretty well but fails at the higher end dishes. And it is expensive, of course. Service was kind but erratic. Very nice setting.
Interesting experience. I’d like to start by making sure that one thing is clear. The service and the atmosphere was perfection, the food on the other hand was lackluster. We opted for the tasting menu, a 5 course introduction to the “best on the menu” or best that represents the restaurant. I inquired at the beginning of the meal if the portions would be small so I could gauge whether or not to order something to take home. The portions were actually way too much to be considered a “tasting menu”. I enjoy fish but I was disappointed that 3/5 of my dishes were fish. The food was salty. So salty. Two of my plates were chipped. One of the drink pairings I didn’t like and they kindly refunded my entire drink pairing which was a nice sentiment but overall I was really disappointed with the tasting menu choices and just the portion size (which I didn’t eat all of it) was still too much. I woke up in the middle of the night with a stomach ache despite not even finishing the food. Disappointed with the experience but the service was good. Atmosphere is lovely. Not sure if I’d go back.
This was our second time yeti Millwright’s. The first time was average to good food, but not excellent. The second time was on New Year’s Eve for their 5-course fixed menu. Some courses were average and at least one was excellent (the quail). The desserts were not good. We tried each of the desserts. They used too much sugar. This experience sealed it for us because it was expensive and the food quality was not complimentary. We will not go back.
I have been to Millwright’s a handful of times. I used to tell people it was my favorite restaurant in CT. After last night I will never go back. I’ll start with the good- the service was impeccable. Our server was friendly and attentive. Now on to the rest- instead of seating us in the dining room they sat us in the drafty hallway near the front entrance that leads to the bridge. They had filled it with tables I assume for Valentine’s Day. I wish I had known that when we made the reservation. The food was not great either. My first course of pork belly wasn’t bad. The second course was the foie gras which was served on sweet toast with an ample amount of granola. The serving of the foie gras was barely a teaspoon. A small portion size doesn’t usually bother me but this was so teeny I could barely taste it. Then on to the scallops which were not edible! Super rubbery and fishy. You could tell that they weren’t fresh. They were also served with an ample serving of granola. The last course was pavlova with yup you guess it-more granola. It was sickeningly sweet and the meringue was just too thick. We both had the prix fixe so with four drinks and tip, the bill was over $400. We also drove an hr and a half to get there. We were so bummed!
