Great atmosphere and service! But the food is the true star at this establishment. They took great precautions so that they could accommodate my gluten allergy. Cocktails and oysters were amazing. I highly recommend the crab cakes and salmon. We went for my birthday and they seated us at a cozy table next to the fireplace/window it was a very pleasurable quiet dining experience! Highly recommend! I just visited for a second time last night and apparently I'm not able to leave to reviews, so I just edited this one. I went back again for the crab cakes and oysters because they are just done so well. This time with caviar on the oysters and a vinaigrette salad accompanying the crab cakes. The creme brulee was incredible and they threw in a chocolate covered strawberry in my to go box. Staff was amazing as always and our drinks were great too. My husband really loved his espresso martini!
We have always been fans of Go Fish, but even more so now that our favorite server Davina is back!!! Davina helped host my sister’s birthday party last night & everything from decor to service was impeccable. The sushi is always fresh, the atmosphere is welcoming, and Davina is the most attentive server we’ve ever had. Please hold onto her & we’ll keep coming back!!!
Another hidden gem! Came here for a friend’s birthday dinner and loved the calm, welcoming atmosphere. Service was excellent our waitress, Lilly (I think!), was friendly, attentive, and really knew the menu. The food was delicious across the board. I’d definitely come back. Thank you!
What a pretty little place to grab a bite. I came in for my Go Taste Berks passport crème brûlée and was glad I did. Although there was a little confusion about how to get my deal, they still honored it. I’ve never had sushi before, so I went with a vegetable roll and I substituted a mango wrap for the seaweed. I will be back to get this again it was absolutely scrumptious.
This was our first time at Go Fish and I wish we would have gone sooner!! Everything we ordered was delicious. I had the Scottish salmon; the salmon was cooked to perfection it was moist and flakey. They had a great flavor profile for it as well, the sweet and acidity were balanced. For my personal preference I wish it had a touch more spice but that’s just me I love spicy food. My husband had the fish and chips. They were also cooked perfectly, lending to a flaky and delicate bite. It was served with a malt vinegar aïoli and red onion tartar sauce which were both house made. Again the flavors were fresh and balanced to perfection! We will most definitely be back!!
The sushi is amazing... Every dish tasted fresh. There were 4 of us and we all enjoyed everything we ordered. The bar made me a custom drink and it was superb! Our waitress surprised us with lil birthday cakes and sparkles, as we were celebrating 2 birthdays, but she did it on her own, no one set it up. That's awesome customer service!!!
Went for sushi lunch and loved it! Good quality, good selection. We'll be back!
Fabulous dining experience. A wide variety of options with unique (and delicious) cocktails. Service was incredibly friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back!
First time going here and I was completely blown away. It was small and tight but felt very romantic. I wouldn't recommend taking young children there but you still could. It was busy when we went but the service was still fantastic. If you love sushi I would definitely recommend this place but oddly the best thing here were the fries! Perfectly crisp, not overdone and not greasy. It's not too expensive but also not cheap. Definitely check this place out.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Go Fish Seafood Restaurant, and it was truly a memorable experience. From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the phenomenal atmosphere. The cozy yet modern ambiance, combined with tasteful decor, created the perfect setting for an enjoyable meal. Now let's talk about the star of the show: the food! Go Fish truly delivered on their promise of excellent sushi. Each piece was crafted with meticulous attention to detail, showcasing the freshest ingredients and bursting with flavor. Whether it was the classic rolls or the chef's specialty creations, every bite was a delightful adventure for the taste buds. To complement the amazing food, the selection of drinks at Go Fish was truly impressive. From unique cocktails to a wide array of sake options, there was something to please every palate. The bartenders were highly skilled, creating drinks that were not only visually appealing but also perfectly balanced in taste. The true highlight of my visit, however, was the friendly and attentive staff. From the moment I entered until the moment I left, everyone went above and beyond to ensure that I had a superb dining experience. The waitstaff was knowledgeable, offering insightful recommendations and catering to my needs promptly and with a smile. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Go Fish Seafood Restaurant to anyone seeking an outstanding dining experience. The excellent sushi, amazing drinks, phenomenal atmosphere, and great friendly staff make this place a true gem. I cannot wait to visit again!
Had an amazing time with great friends! The food was delicious, the service outstanding, and the atmosphere so warm and inviting. Can’t wait to come back!
I came here with my mom and my sister for a girls night and i want to say that the experience was amazing. Customer service was great. Staff was attentive to or needs and the things that we had wanted. Ambience even having been seated outside was just perfect. Food was delicious and I have been craving ever since!
Absolutely amazing experience from the time I got there, to dessert. Excellent service and amazing prices we happened to get there when it was happy hour so a lot of their meals were on discount. Their appetizers were the best appetizers I've ever had. Their oysters and muscles were to die. I most definitely will be going back!
If you are looking for great cocktails, delicious sushi, a warm cozy environment, and excellent service, Go Fish is a great hidden gem. We had a lot of fun with their cocktail roulette and enjoyed every bite of our meals. Highly recommend. Natasha makes a great cocktail!!!
Sushi, ramen, savory crepes, Bellinis and Bloody Caesars! Oh my! Go Fish! can seemingly do it all; and from what I've sampled, they do it fairly well. Housed in an almost non-descript warehouse-like building, Go Fish! is flanked by an auto repair shop and a printing company. Wife and I almost drove past it on the Sunday morning we stopped in for brunch. Once inside, however, we were embraced by the warm glow of Edison bulbs hung from the ceiling and a red brick wall adorned with funky original artwork. Our attentive and friendly Canadian server quickly took our orders and whipped up my Bloody Caesar (Mary's cousin, it's made with Clamato instead of regular tomato juice). This Caesar is delicious and special because the Clamato is made in-house. As is the yummy tartar sauce that accompanied my crab cake. I enjoyed almost everything I had that day. The oysters were huge and fresh. If it's your first time here then I recommend the Bellini flight so you'll know which one to order next time you're there. Perhaps the only dish I wasn't completely enamored with was the seafood crepe. While it was tasty, it became almost too rich and buttery for my palate after a couple of bites. The creme brulee was ok. Sadly, sushi and ramen are not served during Sunday brunch hours. On the bright side that means we'll be back again.
STOP SCROLLING This is the best seafood we have had away from the shore! We are foodies and we don't impress easily. Nikki helped us out for the evening and she was attentive and on top of everything including rapid answers on menu questions. The beautiful place has a great atmosphere with perfect lighting and sound for a romantic or a casual dining experience. We will cheerfully return and anticipate many visits! See our other reviews to understand we don't fluff we tell it like it is, and this is our new favorite seafood stop!
The new location for Go Fish restaurant has a nice modern decor, friendly and knowledgeable staff. A couple of our party members had allergies and our server went above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect. Now for food we ordered the grilled Octopus and American Sushi Warrior as Appetizers, for our dinner we had Halibut, Salmon and Sea Scallops and everything was just cooked to perfection. For desert we had the creme brulee and Pot De Creme which was a coffee overdose so make sure you like coffee if you are ordering that one. All in a very good experience and highly recommended.
Once you enter the unassuming brick building you are greated with a modern and artful ambience inside. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming as well. The ever changing menu and staple sushi rolls are delicious while being beautiful to look at. Go Fish is a must for anyone that enjoys perfectly prepared seafood and modern food dishes and unique cocktails! Will be back again soon.
We had such a great meal!! We started with the fish bowl drink, and one of the Valentine’s Day drinks. They were fresh and super good. We were seated on time for our reservation. The food we got was fresh, and the sushi was amazing. Our server Davina was so kind, and did such an awesome job. She always made sure our drinks were full, and made sure our food was perfect and on time. Thank you Davina and Go-Fish for the awesome Valentine’s Day date night!
Came here while on our honeymoon. Let’s start my saying the atmosphere is perfect!! Our waitress (shower blonde hair didn’t catch her name) was absolutely amazing!!!! We got the oysters which came with a balsamic vinaigrette to our on top and boy did that set it off!!!!!! We also got the lobster dip which was so creamy with chunks of the most amazing lobster. We both had the dragon fruit mojito (pic below) and it was so fun and tasty. I had the pistachio crusted sea bass that was so soft and tasteful with the truffle potatoes to die for. My husband had the seafood curry and said it was the best Curry he ever had wasn’t heavy and you can taste everything very flavorful. We had some other drinks that were also amazing and because it was our honeymoon they gave us a free glass of champagne each. We made reservations for tomorrow!!!! Came back the next day and it was even more amazing took some rolls to go cause we couldn’t get enough I edited my review to add this as well as some more pics our server both yesterday and today was Natasha and she was amazing!!
We Googled restaurants nearby and found this place, which is about a mile from where we were. We are so thrilled and glad we stopped by. We met Brandon, Alexis, Ryan, and more importantly, Heather! Heather is simply awesome and so pleasant and friendly and welcoming and impressive and just WOW! We sat at the sushi bar and ordered sushi, sashimi, and Creme' Brulee for dessert. I will say they did not disappoint. The place is well designed, very clean, the atmosphere is great and the entire staff is awesome. I definitely recommend checking them out. The next time I visit, I will order the Chilean Sea Bass.
Hands down our favorite date night place to go! Excellent Food, Amazing Drinks and a Wonderful Staff. If i could give them more then 5 stars I would.
Stopped in here quick for a drink and app. Drinks and food were great! We got the duck spring rolls and it was probably one of the best I’ve ever had! We will be back again for sure to try there dinner options.
Absolutely beautiful and delicious. Went here for the first time and sat outside. Our waitress was Steph and she was amazing. Great waitress, and very nice and fun to talk to. Ordered the chicken and shrimp spring roll and calamari for apps. Both were great. Got sushi (rainbow roll, bbq roll with spicy tuna, and spicy california). This sushi was the freshest I ever had. I loved the tuna. Also got this espresso/dark chocolate pana cotta for dessert. SO GOOD! Highly recommend for great food and great atmosphere.
Delicious food! Great atmosphere!! And our server was wonderful!! Thank you for helping us celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary ♥️
Great sushi, loved the atmosphere, and nice drink list! Get the oysters, those were my favorite. The bartender will make an oyster shooter if you ask! You’ll probably need a reservation on weekend nights. Can’t wait to go back!
The catering Go Fish Seafood Restaurant did for our annual company gathering was amazing. Both seafood and non-seafood choices were delicious. Thank you Heather, our guests were so impressed!
Cutest place, awesome craft drinks and the sushi was fresh and delicious. We also had lobster dip..wow is all I can say ,we will be back!
Great hidden gem. Expert, knowledgeable bartender in a clean, quality environment. I had a basic roll and a daily special and both were fresh and delicious. Will be back.
Excellent sushi! I love the new location. It has an awesome atmosphere and friendly staff.
Great food and great service, too! Not sure what my expectations were going into this sushi restaurant, but they were definitely surpassed.
Made reservations for a Friday night at 6.30pm. arrived 5 mins early and the place was packed. We were seated promptly and our server was on point. We ordered Sushi which was fresh and tasted amazing. Our server was busy but stopped by a few times to see if we wanted more drinks or food. Prices were very reasonable and the atmosphere was very upbeat with music playing but you could still here each other talking. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend
We drove from Harrisburg to check out Go Fish! The trip was well worth it! The sushi was incredible, the desserts were amazing and the drinks were delicious!! The staff were second to none! We loved our entire visit and will definitely be back for more!
The perfect gem of a restaurant to catch up with old friends and family last evening. The service was top notch and the food was absolutely delicious; we joked about wanting to go back for dinner a second night in a row! By far the best sushi around….we’ll definitely be back soon!!!
Met a couple of friends there and the vibe and the atmosphere were absolutely perfect. Such a laid back environment and was a perfect night out. The food was delicious. These employee clearly love their jobs and feel like such easy going group of workers ! We will definitely be back for lots more sushi and the best drinks around town. By far my favorite place to go on a date night. Thank you for a fantastic memory.
My server , Lilly was amazing, she was considerate , friendly, provided excellent, quality service with all food delivered with high quality. I appreciate her service and will return any time I am in the area. Callie
First but definitely not our last visit. The menu has sooo many things that look, sound and smell amazing. The brussel sprouts are worth the trip alone.
First time trying it and it was amazing 😊Food is absolutely delish! (We had their tuna appetizer/sushi/fish+chips!) the service was great and the place itself was so nice inside. Very relaxing and a great way to catch up with friends or have a nice dinner with your significant other. We’re definitely coming back!
I've been here twice and have had good experiences both times. Best raw oysters in Reading. My wife loved her sushi. I wish I could remember the name of our server, she was excellent! We were seated next to a window and cold air was pouring in and asked to move so she found us a new table not next to a window. I'd give the atmosphere 5 stars if it weren't for the leaky window.
Go fish is a hidden gem in Berks County. The atmosphere and ambience was great for either a date night or small gatherings of friends or family. The waiting staff were very personable and very knowledgeable about the menu. They provided us with excellent recommendations that we would truly get again. I had the crab cakes and my wife had a seafood ramen. The crabcakes were generously proportioned, lightly coated and a creamy composition holding the crab meat together. I highly recommend the crabcakes to any first time customer. For an appetizer, we had the calamari. It was fresh, flavorful, and lightly crusted. We also got the French fries, which were the only downside of their entire menu. I don’t need to go into a lot of detail other than they were really greasy and not very flavorful. But if you’re going to a seafood restaurant for the french fries, then you are looking at the wrong options on the menu.
Took my MIL to Go Fish while she was visiting from out of state. She said the halibut dish was the best meal she's had in a year! My fish and chips were super light and flaky, not heavy like most places. Husband loved the black fish special, and my 13 Y/O neice devoured the tempura shrimp rolls. The duck egg rolls were delicious, and the calamari was perfect, not rubbery. The atmosphere was up scale but comfortable. Go Fish is going to be our go-to date night/ special occasion spot.
The staff and food are excellent. I had a takeout order go a little askew on Valentine’s Day and the owner called me after a crazy night for them, which I was not expecting. You can’t beat that customer service. We’ll be back even more now! Thanks Heather and Go Fish team.
Based on the reviews I was excited to try go fish. However, we went there on a Thursday evening and it wasn’t too crowded but we waited for about an hour and a half for our food. We also got there at 5:40 and ordered some things on the happy hour menu well before 6 o’clock, but they did not honor that happy hour prices because the server didn’t put it in in time. The oysters were really good, but overall the food was very bland and you could tell frozen which is crazy for over $40 for a fish meal. The crabcakes didn’t have much flavor and the crab meat is from Indonesia which is also expensive. We definitely won’t be back.
Not the best sushi we’ve ever had. Appetizers (Brussels sprouts and calamari) were better than the entrees. The food took so long to come out; probably about 45min. Service and drinks were both really good. The restaurant itself was clean and had a nice ambience. We’ve gotten so many people recommendations for Go Fish but don’t know if we’d be back because the food was disappointing and expensive.
Service and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our food did take quite a while to come. Overall they were good but nothing we will be returning to. Philly roll- salmon is way too Smokey. Spider roll- too bland Soda- flat Steak- AMAZING Carrots-Amazing Brussels- very bitter
I've had this placed in my "want to go" for awhile. I had high hopes but I was disappointed. It's a beautiful restaurant but not what I was hoping for in their food. This is a very trendy restaurant and you can tell that's what kind of crowd they're going for. The food was alright, but not better than places you can go to in Lancaster County. I don't feel that the food is worth the price tag and I don't shy away from pricier menus when it's worth it. I was also disappointed that it seemed like they may not even know what they're offering in the menu regarding sushi. I ordered nigiri and received sashimi instead -this was even after discussing the quantity per order if I order nigiri. While this may have been a server not knowing the menu, I could see how they may not know what nigiri is from how it is labeled as a side which also says sashimi. Either way, I was disappointed. People wanting the trendy atmosphere will like it and I think that's apparent with the reviews. I also added a star for having Asahi as an option since restaurants around don't tend to offer it.
Honestly, I had high hopes for this place. The oysters tasted ok and the sushi was decent. However I was not impressed with the entrees. The portion sizes were small and the pork belly was way too greasy. I felt that the food was a little too charred and salty as well. I am definitely a fan of fining dining but this was just not it for me. I saw the rave reviews but it really didn't live up to the hype for me. Not to mention the parking lot was really dark, unpaved, and full of potholes. The food really upset my stomach. Honestly don't think we will be back.
After so many recommendations to come here, we decided to make a reservation. I should have read the reviews first. The food took about 45 minutes to come out. My crab cakes were not hot-just slightly warm inside. I have had many crab cakes and these were not cooked thoroughly. I told the waitress who apologized-the right thing to do. However then the manager, I suppose, came over to question me. Was it the texture or temperature? I told him it was the temperature. He told me it would take about 16 minutes for them to recook. I said that it was okay, my husband was still eating. 25 minutes they came out. He came to check in again and said it takes a long time to cook them-25 minutes. My husband was done eating by then. It was also 8:55-our reservation was 7:15. I have worked in a restaurant and when an issue presents itself, usually the ticket is priority-to make the situation right. There was no offer for dessert or even a discount for the inconvenience. No apology was offered. So basically he took no ownership for the issue. I can say with absolute clarity I will not be back and will share my review with anyone looking for a seafood dinner-go elsewhere where the customer is correct and not questioned. His attitude was unprofessional and off putting.
Horrible service!!! Food was good but we waited 30 minutes between ordering appetizers and our food order. Also no one came over to ask if we wanted more drinks. When someone did we ordered shots and they came when we were almost done dinner. This was my 60 birthday !!! No one apologized or compensated us. If you are celebrating a special day go somewhere else
RESERVATIONS BEWARE I frequented Go Fish at least 2 to three times a month with great service and food. It's unfortunate that I even have to leave a review. But, I booked their party room for my wife's milestone birthday 5 weeks ahead of time. Everything was confirmed and set, my wife had family coming in from out of town and upon arrival, the party room was double booked with only five patrons , leaving my wife's party of seven stuck at a table, not in their reserved room. The hostess offered no explanation, however, we reached out later that night to follow up with the owner, Heather; the waitress said she was sorry for the confusion and would relay my message to the owner. I never heard back. That being said, the food is great, cocktails are great, and the waitresses are fantastic, just beware when making a large party reservation, you'll be stuck wishing you went somewhere else, like we did. **Response to owner's response ** •My review never stated I was present, it stated I reached out that night. It is true the room was occupied with 5 patrons, what Heather forgot to mention was the party was still there when my wife and her party were finished eating 2 hrs later. Just say you double-booked the room and own it. Sad to say I'll never go here again
