Traveled from Mississippi to visit my sister. We came here twice last time we were here. Food was great every time. Our waitress was Sabrina and she was wonderful. We had the fish fry, Mozzarella Moons, and Cauliflower crust pizza. All were very tasty! Will come back!

We had a great lunch celebrating a birthday, the owners Jennifer and Dwayne run a great restaurant, and are friendly. The fish fry was huge and delicious. Our waitress Kelly served us with a friendly attitude, and served us quickly. We loved the atmosphere and plan on returning when we can sit outside to enjoy the great view of Sodus Bay. ⭐️

I stopped by this gem of a restaurant on the well advertised "prime rib Monday." Having long ago become privy to the high-quality of a recurring special, I stopped in as soon as I saw the sign out front referencing my favorite cut of meat. The bartender was quick and could make a great drink. The food came out in record time. The staff and locals are a pleasant and welcoming crowd in this spot. And the patio is gorgeous, day or night. The picture almost speaks for itself, but I am no photographer. A huge cut of prime rib that almost melted in the mouth was promptly delivered with a savory Au Jus, gratuitous sides, and my glass of Patrón. If you can make it on a Monday, you may have been a Saint in a past life, ready for a reward. If you stop by any other day, expect the same quality, customer service, and beautiful outdoor seating with a waterfront view. Wash your hands. And tip your staff

We eat here often. I have eaten on the rooftop, in the restaurant, in the bar area, and on the deck and back dining room. Today was the worst experience I have had there. I asked for a plain tortilla shell for my wrap. The waitress was very snotty saying they only have 2 kinds. I have had a plain tortilla shell there before and when I nicely told her that, again with the attitude that they only have 2 kinds. Whatever but, I was also with an 81 year old friend. Yes it took a few minutes for that friend to place her order and the waitress seemed really annoyed. It took forever to get our food. I had to help my friend to the restroom as the food came out. I told the waitress to just set them down on the table she was in front of. Again with the snotty attitude she said I will put them on YOUR table. Unfortunately, she cut my friend off and now they had to maneuver a walker up a narrow isle. It was almost dangerous. I regret giving the waitress a 17% tip. She definitely did not deserve it!

Our bartender was great/very friendly, and the hostess made sure we had a nice place to hang out as we were a group of eight that just "popped" in to see what Jack's on the water was all about...we loved the place and the water views...fun time (Goodtime!) and would highly recommend if you are in Sodus! They had a complimentary fun photo engagement area, and the music playing was good too...cool place, especially on a good weather day.

This was the first time my wife & I went to this restaurant and we went to the tiki bar upstairs. We got food & drinks, & it had a great view as well. A band played there that night as well, it sounded amazing & the band was so fun! Overall, it was a great experience !

We had heard of Captain Jacks for years and on our family vacation we made a stop in for dinner and we were not disappointed. We started with wings which were the most authentic wings outside of Buffalo, Cheese curds and coconut shrimp . And on Fridays they have a Prine Rib Special for $17 . If your in the sodus area make Captain Jacks a must stop

Indoor restaurant with fireplace, enclosed dining right on the bay, outdoor waterfront patio seating, second floor open air deck with live music summertime and reserved-for-customer docks. My husband and I ate a late lunch here and while the rest of the food was delicious, the winner out of our order was definitely the lobster pizza. We'd never heard of it, let alone tried one before, so we went for it. So glad we did. It's even available on a gluten free crust, which was as crisp and delicious as a regular crust in our opinion.

Great place to enjoy a beautiful sunny day. Highly suggest to sit on the bar as it gives you the awesome waterfront view. Went for Monday evening special Prime Rib. It was delicious! 😋 Captain Jack's is a Sodus Point landmark. It is a great place to go even when the weather does not permit eating on the deck. Seating at booths and tables is warm feeling and comfortable. Sitting at the bar is a "Cheers" type atmosphere, and IS NOT loud! When leaving I saw a group of 20 eating pizza, it looked delicious!

My son had the “monster plate” aka Garbage Plate, he enjoyed it very much. I had the beer battered fish fry and I’ve got to say one of the best I’ve ever had. Lobster bisque was delicious as well, lots of lobster (real too). Beer selection as always is great. Prices on new menu list both cash and credit pricing so save some $ and pay cash. Looking forward to coming back this season.

The food is good most of the time but I have noticed that depending on who is working the fish instead of being crispy being fried is dripping with grease and soggy. Wish they had plates and silverware as Bayside breezes can lift paper & plastic ware off the table and if not quick... into the bay.

Had a very nice lunch on a sunny Fall day at Jack's. The food portions were generous, and everything was tasty and cooked just right. Eating outside on their porch was also lovely. Captain Jack's is a staple out at Sodus point. They are located right on the bay with great outdoor seating, good food, a full bar and an excellent beer selection. Their menu is a a mix of seafood, full entrees, sandwichs and burgers. Of note is their birthday wing special. We have been a few times and food and service are consistently good. Expect a wait in the summer and their prices are set based on their location so they are not cheap. That said if you want a fun place to go enjoy some food drinks and fun check them out .

We were disappointed that we could not take our dogs to the deck. Receptions was very apologetic. She said it was not their policy, but a town policy. They suggested ordering take out, and eating elsewhere. Food is good, with generous servings. I ordered the nachos topped with taco meat, fresh jalapenos, lettuce, cheese and Pico de Gallo. My husband ordered the steak sandwich with a side of fries. It came with horseradish mayo and gravy. I walked my dogs to a nearby play ground next to a marina, while we waited for our order.

This is a favorite spot for this cute seaside village. Although parking is plentiful, on the weekends it can get a little tight in the summer months. The best thing about the place was the ambience. The wings were meh, especially since we are still in Buffalo wing territory. Our entrees were simply not memorable. Not great but not horrible. Our server was fantastic - attentive and very pleasant. The atmosphere made it worth it all. Friendly fellow patrons, a beautiful bay view and an absolutely fantastic band were the highlight of the pleasant evening. Sitting outdoors only added to the experience.. I was pleasantly surprised to recognize several songs, and clearly they tried to cater to a variety of tastes.

Captain Jack's is the Perfect Summer Spot! If you're looking for a great summer hangout, Captain Jack's is the place to be. It's got a great mix of a atmosphere, awesome water views, and good food. We went the other day and can tell you it’s a fantastic spot for anyone. The vibe is a huge plus. They had live music playing, which made everything feel festive and chill. But honestly, the best part is the view of the water. You can just hang out for hours watching the boats come and go—it's super relaxing and totally fits the laid-back mood. And it's not just about the views and music; the food is really good too. Everything on the menu was delicious and didn't break the bank. Our nachos and hamburgers were perfectly cooked and tasted great. Our server was super friendly and right on top of things, making sure we had everything we needed with a smile. There were 12 of us and that wasn't easy. The great atmosphere, yummy food, and perfect service are what make Captain Jack's a real winner. Honestly, it's just a solid choice for a relaxed, fun meal. We will for sure be going back. If you need a spot for a casual lunch, a fun evening with friends, or just a place to spend a summer day, you can't go wrong with Captain Jack's.

Planned a Surprise birthday party for mom on Saturday. I was nervous it being a Memorial Day weekend but it was an amazing time! Mom loved every minute of it. Your staff is so sweet and thoughtful letting us decorate everything, helping us take it down and our Server was Outstanding!!!! He was such a sweet guy and took care of our party of 17!!! We arrived for a late lunch on a Monday. We were greeted and seated by a friendly staff member. The draft beer selection is cumbersome due to the 5 page list you are handed. I appreciated that they customers were spaced out across the deck so as you could enjoy conversation with your party. My daughter and I ordered our drinks and food at the same time. My draft beer seemed to take longer than normal to arrive for such a moderately busy time. The food arrived in a timely manor. I ordered the portobello wrap and she ordered the beer battered fish fry. I would give the wrap a 4/10 as it was heavy on the marinade/dressing and the wrap fell apart in your hands. I also expected more portobello in ratio to veggies based on the menu description. I ended up using my fork to finish all that had fallen out of the wet wrap. My daughter gave her fish dinner a 9/10. My overall experience was ho hum. As a foodie, I would give the establishments another try...maybe I just didn't pick a good menu option.

Staff was very friendly, no wait. Food however took close to an hr from the time we ordered. My wife’s Nashville chicken sandwich tasted good; it was a bit small and the bread kinda fell apart due to it being a bit stale. My chicken fingers were awful. Clearly frozen processed chicken for the price of fresh. I found fibers and Veins inside them. Not edible. My daughter ordered the fried clam strips and they were the best thing our family got. The server was awesome!! If they put a bit more effort into the food, this would be a great spot.

The outside area is infested with bugs and spiders, I mean clean the area every night if you need to. I understand the water brings bugs but it was ridiculous seeing so many spiders everywhere. The inside looked clean but since we did not eat inside, I cannot comment how clean it was. The food was moderately good at best, I ordered the NY Sirloin steak and I ordered it done medium, and got it medium well. The restaurant gives you a steak knife but won’t give real forks and provides Plastic forks for all patrons to eat with.I worked in the restaurant business for years and expect to eat at clean places and have adult silverware. For me it just wasn’t not worth the money.

This is the End , what a horrific experience and not a good way to commemorate someone's iconic 80th birthday. If you're thinking about coming here, be ready to be disappointed . The food is subpar if that. Stick to Bar foods and things you know because restaurant style is not your Forte.

Only giving 2 stars for the food and patio. came here for my birthday last night our server never checked on us after we got our food, never got refills, never got asked if we wanted anything else, waited 20 minutes for a box and a check. I am a server so I understand you get busy, but communicate with your tables, don’t just leave them sitting there. I wanted dessert, but the waitress couldn’t even be bothered with us. Don’t quadruple seat your servers! I’ve never felt so ignored at a restaurant ever.

Not worth the price in my opinion. Caesar salad with “8oz sirloin” was not good and took about 30 mins to arrive at 2pm on Monday, 9/22 (off season) with 12 other people in the restaurant (6 at the bar). The steak came overcooked the first time and it was too tough to eat. The small portion of steak was good for the price ($8 to add steak to Caesar salad) but the dressing tasted like Italian and that was not what I was hoping for since Caesar is usually creamy/ not so vinegary. The chicken sandwich and french fries were good but the french fries portion was very small so that was disappointing. We couldn’t sit outside because it was supposed to rain even though it looked like the deck was covered, so we sat in the booth area which was pretty dark, I saw the bar area on the way out and would have preferred to sit there to see outside while eating but I didn’t look around at both areas when the waiter asked us where we wanted to sit and I opted for the booth area since it was much quieter. I wouldn’t complain about the cost/quality of the food as much if we were able to sit outside and enjoy the view but we can sit inside any restaurant and get food. It was not a good experience since it took a while to get our drink order in (got it wrong) order our food (also got it wrong) and it wasn’t busy in my opinion so it stinks but that is my option. The smells outside and in were promising. The hosts and server were friendly. The drinks came timely, and that was the end of the good time for the most part. Almost all the food came at once - soup, wings, salad, two entrees. The only thing missing was my 1 year old daughter's hot dog. That came out 10 minutes later. The dill wings were supposed to be extra crispy and they definitely were not. The flavor and blue cheese were good. The lobster Bisque had a pound of old bay seasoning on top. Really ruined the flavor. The breaded fish fry was crispy and very good. The seafood pasta was delicious. When I expressed my displeasure with our waitress, she offered to drop new wings and scoop off the seasoning. That was all the resolution we received. I would go back for a second chance if I'm in the area, but I'm not going to rush back.

Here we are at Captain Jacks in Sodus on a beautiful day, August 7th at 6:20pm. We are greeted by a disgruntled hostess stating they are closing the kitchen early, 6:30pm. Why why why???? I get it, it hot out, hello it August. My husband works in a steel mill. 120 degree. You can’t make money if your not open and you have live entertainment with no food but alcohol. The sun is going down in an hour. Interesting at best!!! Please humor me with a reply as to why????

Place has been going down hill for years. Now with new ownership it has continued its down hill slide. Place is filthy, bathrooms disgusting, bar is sticky, floors are dirty, can’t even cook fried food. The amount of beer wasted from foam is amazing, something not right with the Tap system. Some good people are employed here or I would have left this review sooner. Worst place to eat or drink at on Sodus Bay! Try six50, skippers or pier 53. And if you aren’t trying to get somewhere by boat hit up Riley’s and the Franklin House!

They were absolutely unprofessional. They did not inform us that parties over ten would not be able to split checks before serving and let us struggle to gather the money together correctly. The tip of $50+ of auto gratuity was definitely undeserved. Our waitress was rude and snarky, and didn’t even let us finish our sentences before answering. She barely attended to our tables while the restaurant was nearly empty. As we arrived and the hostesses saw our party, they rolled their eyes and complained to each other about how big of a party we were. (For reference, only TEN people, and the restaurant was empty ). Do not come here unless you want terrible service, thanks for listening .

This was probably one of the worst services I've ever had. It took forever for a waitress to come and see us. And then it took even longer for them to bring out our food. Our drinks we are probably there for maybe 2 hours waiting and then we got served cold food.

A large part of 7 people, including me, came in to this establishment for a friend's birthday. He got the chicken wings that captain jacks has advertised four years as a free offer. You get the number of wings that corresponds to the customers numerical age, for him that meant 61 wings. We also all ordered drinks and full meals. The total order cost over $150 + 20% tip. We asked for boxes for our leftovers and were told we could only take the wings with us if we paid $1 each! That if we didn't, they would just throw them away! What a waste!! TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES AND A SHAMEFUL WASTE OF FOOD!! WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK EVER!!! This is a picture of the perfectly good food they THREW AWAY!! Over 3 dozen wings. JUST SHAMEFUL!!!

The last 4 times that I've been down there I don't get any food and it's always on Tuesdays. First time they kept putting me on hold and nobody would answer the phone and then when they did they said we're out of chicken French but you can get it all day you don't have to wait till dinner. Next week I go down around noon I called to order you can't get chicken french until 5:00. Next time I go there's at least an hour wait so I ate at Rubino's. This time we're not doing takeout. There won't be a next time I'm done with them I've already wasted too much gas and too much time driving to Sodus for nothing! Also they're quick to block you if they don't like what you say and then they post about your review on their page and cry like little babies. Btw Rubino's was delicious and quick and polite definitely check them out if you're at Sodus point!

7 people 61 Free( as you say) wing. All ordered meals also. Server brought a bunch of box for take home. After packing all of our food she then came over and told us the rules of the free wings. Might I suggest having wait staff to explain as they are taking the order. We would have never ordered all that food. Will NOT BE BACK. WHAT A WASTE...

Spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon waiting for our food. When the waitress came to our table to apologize for the wait, she offered a soup or salad while we waited. We took her up on the offer and then were charged for it. I brought it to her attention and she returned to the table and said there was nothing her manager could do because we already ate it. Huh?!

I keep giving Jacks another try only to be disappointed. Last nights meal, for 2 Adults and one child we spend roughly $120 pluss tip. Pictures below is the chicken finger dinner. $17.00 for extremely hard over cooked chicken in what looks to be weeks old fryer grease. And of course the measles 7 French fries that were cold and soggy. If you came in summer of 2024 you got to enjoy some lovely pink panther insulation with your meal.

We all ordered the steak which was about 34.00 ea. When we got it an hour after we ordered, the thickness was about 1/2" thick. Dennys had better breakfast steaks. Just a really bad meal for everyone. Other servers were pleasant and happy but ours not so much.

Attempted to stop in Saturday 10/4 around 1pm for some lunch. I wanted to visit to honor my deceased fathers birthday, as he used to own Captain Jacks in 1000 Islands, and this place reminds me of him when I visit. I did have my little frenchie puppy leashed and in my arms. I was attempting to approach the hostess to ASK if dogs were allowed on the patio, as I did not see any signage stating "no dogs allowed". Before I could speak a word, I was met with a nasty attitude from the hostess. You DON'T have to be RUDE. This WAS one of my favorite spots, but I doubt I'll return after being met with such nastiness and hostility. To be clear - I'm not upset the puppy wasn't allowed (grew up in the industry and I get it), I'm upset with how I was spoken to. A little kindness goes a long way. We went to Castaways instead and had a fabulous experience there.

It's unfortunate that service and attitude will be the demise of this landmark restaurant. To blatantly lie to long time decade patrons as to why an hour wait when you can scan the patio and see 15 empty tables is a slap in the face. Be honest and say you're understaffed. We gave the benefit of the doubt and went back again. We were told we couldn't sit on the outside patio because we weren't sure we were going to eat. That made our decision easy... it was grab one drink and get the hell out.... forever ! The bar maid was cold and made it even easier. We will gladly go next door to six50 where they may be struggling for staff as well, but those few employees that are there are as friendly and accommodating as a family member at Thanksgiving dinner. Jack's will not survive... its truly sad. I will gladly go next door to six50 and be catered and pampered by their staff. Sincerely, Blaise Midnight

We sat for 1 hr and 10 minutes for lunch. They only brought water which we ordered our meal at same time. Never came back to check or bring out meal!!!!! We left! Several other customers were still waiting for their meals too. Over an hour waiting is unacceptable at any restaurant! The waitress should have informed us of how long we had to wait for our food.

Wait has been longer than an hour for food, appetizers that are supposed to be a starter comes out with entree. This has been the last 3 times I have gone. I used to love eating here. I unfortunately will not be back.

DO NOT ORDER THE MONSTER PLATE! I have never had such a dry and soulless meal in my mouth before. First off, the menu says it comes with two “burgers” little did I know that meant just pattys and cheeses and nothing else; hardly what I would call a burger. Second the “meat sauce” was simply dry, chunky ground beef that was drenched in hot sauce in an attempt to save its sad demeanor. The Mac salad was admittedly pretty good tasting however it was lukewarm which made an unpleasant eating experience. Service was pretty good and the waitresses were very nice, ambience was also very nice. Long story short don’t order the monster plate.

I was very disappointed with Jack's for our Myers Hospital reunion. We paid what I thought was ample for a daytime buffet. What we got was a half a wrap, scoop of mac salad, small bag of chips and water.....this is NOT what I expect for $25. The service was non-existent as well. There was also supposed to be cookies served, but that never happened either. You should know better Jack's! I will not be going back.

We have been going to jacks for yrs but the last few times the experience has changed Our daughter came to visit us so we thought that going there on a Saturday early evening would be fun. . We were in line and everyone was talking about how rude the hostess was. We wanted to eat in the bar area so we waited to find a table No biggie. Totally fine. The waitress was so nice. We waited and waited for the 3 of us to get our food. A couple who was at the next table told us that they had been waiting 45 minutes. Finally our food came out and the dinners were cold . The burgers were not anything but raw and cold. The owner came to see us and she was so rude. She said that she wasn't going charge us for the dinners. What does that do???? We left without dinner. Never have we been talked to the way she spoke to us. The poor couple next to us was still waiting for there food.

I was there on 7/25/25 seated about 6:30 . We waited over an hour to receive are food. This is absolutely ridiculous. We noticed that others who just sat got their orders before us. Food was ok but not really hot. Definitely felt like it was not worth the wait. Eaten there in the past but felt we should have been compensated for the inconvenience.
