Opinions de La Martintera Solares
I've eaten there several times. The place is quiet and cozy, very nicely decorated. Very clean. I'd like to highlight, although the menu isn't extensive, the quality of the dishes, well prepared with excellent ingredients. The service is very friendly and homely, with attentive service. It has a spacious terrace. I recommend it.
We discovered it by chance and were truly pleasantly surprised. A large terrace next to a beautiful park and a very comfortable dining room. Local produce is very well prepared, service is excellent, and desserts are spectacular! We'll definitely be back and plan to try the rest of the desserts. Quality/Price: Excellent
The place is very cozy with a nice decor. The waiters' service was good, friendly. We had ham croquettes as a starter (one serving comes with 8 croquettes), which were very good. Our main courses included slow-cooked ribs, vegetable moussaka, and oxtail. It's clear that this meal takes a lot of preparation. It's a shame we didn't get to dessert. We were very pleased.
A very nice place, pleasant atmosphere, and impeccable service. Right from the start, they won me over when they asked if we wanted bread. A thoughtful touch. I'm tired of places that serve you bread without asking and then charge you 2 euros per serving, so I appreciate the thoughtfulness of asking first. The food was very, very good, and the French toast was unbeatable. A perfect 10. Highly recommended.
Wonderful and highly recommended. The place is beautiful, the food is homemade, and as soon as you walk in, you know you're in for a wonderful meal. The most recommended thing we ate was the grilled toad. I didn't try anything else, so I can't comment on it. We'll definitely be back. The service is 10/10.
We went for lunch during the October Festival and highly recommend it. The service was fantastic, the waiter was very attentive, and then the one who brought us the fish and prepared it for us as well. We were offered shots for dessert. We ordered grilled vegetables, croquettes, and grilled asparagus to share. Afterwards, we each ordered a dish: bonito meatballs, machote for two, cachón, and ribs. For dessert: chocolate bomb, apple tart, and sobao torrija with ice cream. The quality is truly unbeatable, and of course, you pay for it, but once you've indulged yourself, everything is delicious and the staff is super attentive.
A real discovery! We found it on our trip to Solares, and dining there yesterday was the best thing we took home. The food was beyond delicious, the presentation... I'd also like to highlight the friendliness of the lady who served us. It's a shame I didn't know her name. She always had a smile on her face and was always ready to answer any questions and give advice. We'll see you again, thank you!
A very cozy and charming restaurant in Solares. The service was friendly throughout. My partner and I went for tapas. The menu isn't very extensive, but everything was delicious. The croquettes were perfect. The fried squid was very good. The spider crab pudding is highly recommended. The potato salad was light and delicious. Excellent value for money. I would definitely go back!
A great find! We were staying at Balneario de Solares and it's just 100 meters away. A truly luxurious, top-notch restaurant; we had dinner there both times. Definitely worth repeating.
The food was delicious (some dishes, like the blood sausage lasagna, are spiced with paprika). We received prompt and attentive service. The decor is beautiful.
Excellent service and delicious food.
The food was delicious; the quality of the product was evident. The staff was also very attentive, and the atmosphere was very welcoming.
Food and service of 10.
Homemade nachos + blood sausage lasagna Very special flavors and textures, a real hit, and the service was wonderful.
Incredible. We went for a small dinner, and we left craving the great steak we saw live. The portions were excellent (and reasonably priced), and the squid was super tender. The ham croquettes were very, very good, both in flavor and in the excellent coating. The waiter who served us was very attentive and made suggestions. Definitely recommended.
Cozy, nice, pleasant, different. Thank you.
We came for lunch. The food is clearly quality and very well prepared. We paid 45 euros per person and didn't have dessert (a slightly steep price, but well worth it).
A 10/10 meal, very good service and attention to detail. Recommended.
We had lunch with three people on the terrace, taking advantage of the sunny weather. The service was excellent and the food exquisite. We will definitely return if we pass through Solares.
Everything was great, the service was very polite and friendly.
Restaurant located in Solares, decorated with originality, and with an extensive menu. Everything we tasted was very good, highlighting the crab cake and the hake. Very attentive service. Highly recommended.
Delighted with the flavor that comes from the special touch of the grill. Spectacular octopus and local tomato salad that you should try.
Excellent in every way, service and product, the sea bass was sinful
Restaurant in Solares where we were surprised by the food, everything was delicious. With a good wine cellar.
A very delicious place with cool decor and quality food 😉😋
Everything was delicious and the theater was very good.
A highly recommended experience. The food was 10/10. The service was super friendly. We brought our pet along, and the way we handled it was very pleasant. Nothing else to complain about.
Everything was delicious.
We trusted the reviews we read and it didn't disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious. Perhaps there isn't much on the menu for children, but mine ate ribs and even mopped up the sauce.
Juan's friendly service, along with the spectacular food, made the experience fantastic! I'm including a photo of the anchovies because they were incredibly good. I enjoyed every bite! The tomato sauce was delicious, and the cheesecake was even better 😁. The price is in line with the quality. It's quite an experience!
Wow, what a marvel. We ordered four dishes, and I can't pick a favorite. Hand-seared anchovies, local tomatoes, black pudding lasagna, and cheesecake. €48 for two people with two glasses of wine. Unbeatable. Unbeatable. Thanks, Juan.
Very nice place, lovely staff, and delicious food. They're also dog-friendly and treat them very well. Highly recommended!
Easy to book through Google. Attentive and very polite staff. Locally sourced, high-quality food. Kudos to the kitchen. The sirloin steak and sea bass were superb. The icing on the cake was absolutely delicious.
This is our second time at this restaurant, and we'll be back every time we're in Solares. The service was exquisite, as always, and the menu is breathtaking. We ordered croquettes (this time they were made with stew meat), and they were delicious! The waiter recommended a half portion, but these folks at Solares seem to be from Bilbao—it was four generously sized croquettes, absolutely fantastic. Then we had black pudding lasagna with onion marmalade (I think) and Parmesan, which was very, very good, but the oxtail... Oh my goodness, it was the jewel in the crown! Spectacular. For dessert, we had cheesecake (I went for it because I'd tried it the last time and still remembered it after four or five years 🤣) and a white chocolate sphere with melted chocolate—we practically licked the plate clean! In short, you can't visit Solares without going to La Martintera. We'll definitely be back. Thank you!
The best bonito encebollado of my life! Highly recommended.
A must-visit if you're visiting Solares. The place is very cozy and peaceful, with a unique, carefully designed decor. The staff is exceptional, and the service is very friendly. Local produce is prepared with great care. The zucchini ravioli with goat cheese and the chocolate sphere are a highlight; exquisite! Special mention to Mai for her goxotasuna; we felt right at home! We'll definitely be back :)
We made a reservation for dinner and what a find it was. The service was fantastic, the place is beautifully decorated, and the food was exceptional. We ordered grilled monkfish and got a 10 out of 10 for that fish. We also tried the salmon marinated with lime and ginger, and it was an explosion of flavor. Even the dessert, since I don't have a sweet tooth, was delicious. Bravo!
A great find. If you want a great dinner in Solares, this place is perfect. The interior is tastefully decorated, but the terrace is also very comfortable. The dishes and preparation are top-notch: the cured salmon with lime, dill, and yogurt foam is delicious. For fish, we ordered grilled black monkfish; I think it's the best fish I've ever eaten. The dessert and wine were also excellent. Next time, we'll try their famous 10-year-old ribeye steak, aged for 180 days... also... The price is a bit high, but it matches the high quality, so it's perfect!
The food was excellent, the products were quality, the place was cozy and had a wonderful terrace, and the prices were very affordable. We will definitely be back.
We ate very well and had very good service.
A very nice place, very friendly service, and everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommended.
Wonderful dinner in very good company
The place has a great atmosphere, is welcoming, and the staff is very friendly and professional. We'll definitely be back!
Highly recommended, a 10/10 place, treatment, service and products.
Very good I loved the decoration Delicious food
Everything was excellent, the waiter was very attentive at all times. Thank you.
The food was delicious. The mussels were amazing and the ribs were cooked to perfection. My only complaint is the quality of the bread.
Awesome! Definitely a repeat!
Simple restaurant with good, well-prepared produce and a reasonable price. We'll be back.
A very charming place, beautiful and cozy, and not to mention the wonderful staff, who are very friendly and attentive. It's a very well-located place near the spa where we stayed, and the food was completely homemade, with unbeatable flavors and service. We will definitely return because the service we received and the delicious food we ate left us wanting more.
Charming place, very rich dishes and pleasant service
Fabulous place, really stylish
A restaurant with beautiful decor and super friendly service. Plus, the food is excellent.
Highly recommended
A restaurant with beautiful decor, you feel at ease. We sat inside. The food was excellent in quality and preparation. The staff was attentive. We were pleasantly surprised.
Nice place, but the most important thing is that their food is good and the staff is friendly.
As always, exceptional!!! The quality, the service, the flavor, and even the presentation. The menu is very static, but in this case, that's great news. The dishes are amazing. You can always come back and enjoy the dish you loved during your visit. Ideal for eating with clients or as a couple.
A highly recommended place that lives up to its reviews. We ordered the slow-cooked Iberian ribs and the northern bonito wheel, and everything was spectacular. Excellent service and attention.
We had a great meal! We found it by chance and will definitely be back!
Very good
A fantastic place for a great meal. Quality and good service. Everything we ordered was delicious, especially the slow-cooked pork ribs. 100% recommended. I'll be back.
The croquettes are very good.👍
Exceptional. The products were perfect, the service spectacular. We came for work from Barcelona and Lyon. Wonderful. My greatest satisfaction was finally being able to taste a Ramon do Casar. A pleasure I enjoyed in a WONDERFUL atmosphere thanks to Javier.
Excellent food and really friendly and super polite staff I highly recommend it
Great food, the chef takes pride in his work and was a pleasure to dine there.
Super kind and welcoming staff, food was absolutely amazing. The leek was one of the best, lasagne was tastfull. I definitely recommend this place if you are in solares or driving by.
Very good, very good. We had a fantastic meal and the service was very, very good. Congratulations, we will definitely return.
Excellent value for money. The dishes were beautifully served and tasteful. The service was unbeatable. Highly recommended.
Meat Flaw Having just arrived in Solares to spend a day at the Hotel Balneario Castilla Termal, we stumbled upon this restaurant right across from the hotel entrance. The establishment has an outdoor terrace under a pergola with awnings before entering. Inside, on a weekday, the atmosphere was quiet, with few people at the bar and at the tables ordering from the menu. We were told the place used to be a workshop, and the name comes from a nearby fountain, a picture of which is displayed on one of the walls. The decor features blue walls and ceramic floors, and a seating area separated by antique doors placed side by side to create partitions, with illustrations of mechanical bearings on the windows (a reference to the workshop's past). The service was correct, attentive, and quick. The meal started with a salad of blue tomatoes (a local variety), served with two different types of bread (the tomatoes had a spectacular flavor, drizzled with a lovely seasoned olive oil). The fried squid rings were tender, with a light batter, and served with a lemon wedge for squeezing—delicious. However, the meat was not good. We ordered Angus beef sirloin, and I'm not sure if it was the cut or the specific piece, but it wasn't as tender as a sirloin is supposed to be—it should melt in your mouth with minimal chewing (I'm a carnivore by nature and cook regularly). It was a real shame, as the cut had quite a bit of gristle, which was even difficult to cut with a serrated steak knife. They definitely need to improve the choice and cut of the meat in this case.
Nice place to eat. Quick and efficient service. It's quite quiet, which is appreciated. The food is good, although I get the feeling they overuse the wakame seaweed (which I love, but only slightly), but adding that seaweed to octopus, for example, and guacamole just doesn't suit me. We ordered a homemade scorpion fish pie, which was definitely delicious. Very tasty. Also the dish with cheese, peppers, and ham. Odd to see. A bit salty for my taste, but that's also what cheese is like. It's fine. And the octopus was also good, but very greasy. After eating the octopus, you see a large grease stain with a lot of paprika. The cheesecake was also completely homemade and delicious. It's odd that when you see the bill, they charge you 2.40 for two portions of bread (two pieces per person) WITHOUT NOTICE. They can't give you bread in a restaurant without asking if you want it and without warning you that they're going to charge you. That's very BAD. For those reasons, I'm giving it a 4. It's close to the spa, and that's what we found nearby... But I wouldn't go back. In the end, everything cost us 60 euros, and I think there are better restaurants worth that price.
A pleasant place to eat. The croquettes are very good, and mind you, they're large. The squid is delicious, but the portion is somewhat small. The pickled tuna is good, and the portion is very generous. I'd like to highlight the overall quality. The torrija de sobao (a type of French toast) was a bit disappointing, too thick (and they don't mention it), giving it a strong flavor that doesn't suit it, in my opinion. But it's worth stopping by and eating.
We're staying at the Solares spa resort, and this restaurant is a great option for lunch or dinner. There was a slight mix-up with our reservation, but the person who served us did their best to accommodate us. The service throughout the evening was excellent. For dinner, we ordered delicious croquettes, exquisite shredded beef tacos, and very good peppers stuffed with black pudding and apple. For dessert, we had warm French toast soaked in cream and milk... absolutely fantastic! The prices were similar to other restaurants in the area. Highly recommended for its quality and value.
I'd been there once before, and honestly, every time I go, I'm always very happy. We ordered grilled leeks to share, followed by a separate dish each. We had tripe and roast beef. Delicious. For dessert, we shared a cheesecake that was spectacular 😋😋😋. The waiters were very pleasant, and the place was great 😊
Overall, the octopus was excellent, a 10 out of 10, amazing in flavor and well prepared, but the black pudding was very spicy. Prices have gone up a lot, I suppose due to the general price increase. Very good attention and excellent service.
Biennn
It has a very nice vintage decor and delicious food, I especially recommend the meats.
Very good food and good service, the croquettes were overpriced, but the white chocolate sphere dessert is a must-try.
It was delicious 😋 and the place was lovely!
Very good quality and excellent service. Somewhat high price.
The service was excellent; they gave us excellent advice on wine and desserts. The dining room is very cozy and the decor is perfect. The quality is very good, although a bit pricey.
Highly recommended. The scallops, marinated sea bass, grilled octopus, and anchovies were all excellent. It's definitely worth trying; it has a spacious terrace and good service. The only thing that could be improved is the menu presentation, which wouldn't cost anything and doesn't match how good the food is. We'll definitely be back, and there are plenty of good restaurants in town.
A very peaceful place, the decor is lovely, the food is delicious, and the cheesecake is amazing. It has a terrace that's absolutely beautiful when the sun is shining. And the staff are very friendly and give great advice.
Very good dishes and friendly service. I recommend the morcilla de León, the torreznos de Soria, and the octopus, which is delicious. The desserts are also excellent. Great quality at a reasonable price, although not cheap. Recommended.
High-quality raw materials, with produce from their own garden and local ingredients. Decent service, but a bit pricey.
The food was delicious. We went with two people with celiac disease, and there was a wide variety of dishes for them.
Excellent service, food and atmosphere!
One of the few places to eat well that we found in Solares. Mid-range prices, but the food is exquisite. Highly recommended. Wonderful service from the staff, quick service, and a peaceful terrace. The grilled baby squid is a small portion, but with an incredible intensity of flavor; I'd never tried them prepared that way before. And the cod fritters were fantastic.
A nicely decorated and unique place. The waiters offer excellent service. The quality of the products is excellent. It has a terrace and ample parking.
A very well-decorated and well-maintained place. Good ingredients, well-cooked, and friendly service. The only strange thing is that, being in the north, they told us not to order so much, and we ended up hungry.
A well-kept establishment with good and pleasant decor, medium-high prices but adequate for the quality of the product. I recommend the risotto, it's delicious.
Good product and cozy place.
Good product, good service, stylish dishes
Despite not having a kitchen specializing in anything in particular, it has a varied tapas menu that's quite well-priced. The place is cozy and the terrace is comfortable.
We went during the supposedly low season. The service was perfect. The food was beautifully presented and original. Reasonable prices.
Nice place with good food. Good service.
A charming place, tastefully decorated. The service was very friendly and attentive. The menu isn't extensive, but the food is decent. The mussels and fried squid were outstanding; the croquettes were tasty, although a bit greasy. The cheesecake was unusual; I'd say it's made with blue cheese or something similar.
The staff was wonderful. They served us quickly, and we didn't have to wait. As for the food, we ordered three dishes: tomato tartar, squid, and mussels, plus dessert (a scoop of chocolate ice cream), which was delicious. We were surprised by the price: €59 for the three dishes, dessert, and water. In Madrid, you can eat even more for that price.
They tell you the portions are large... In my opinion, they're just right... They're not meant to be shared. Everything is delicious.
We went in because it was the only place we saw open. We sat down and were about to leave when we saw several bugs scurrying around the table. We stayed anyway. The food was certainly delicious, the leeks, the meatballs... And the service was fast. The waiter was a bit curt, but attentive. We thought the bread was excessive: four pieces of baguette cost €6, and even more so when we were two adults, a child, and a baby who doesn't eat. It was also excessive to charge us €4 for a one-egg omelet for the baby. And the dessert was delicious, but at €7.50.
They're friendly, it's nice. Homemade. The leeks are very good, but the nachos aren't; they tasted vinegary even though we were told there wasn't any vinegar. They charge for the bread even if you don't eat it. Clean place. Decent enough.
Terrible service. We waited an hour between courses while we watched the entire meal being served to the table next to us. A misogynistic stench.
We arrived without a reservation and there was one table left. We had a drink before lunch. The beer was warm. Then we sat down to eat: - To drink: we were going to order a "mar de frades" (a mix of liqueurs) which we love, but €37 was a rip-off! We ordered a medium-sized drink and it was WARM. We had to wait until the third course to start enjoying the chilled wine. Unacceptable. - Potato salad: okay, just average. - Mussels: inedible. The sauce was awful, pure paprika. - Half an order of croquettes: okay, average, although expensive. €2 per croquette. - Slow-cooked beef rib: average. - Cheesecake: sweet, yes, but it tasted like nothing, and €7.50, wow! We finished eating at 2:55 pm and waited and waited and waited. My husband ended up not having the coffee. After 50 minutes we were finally able to ask for the bill, pay, and leave. I think the prices are exorbitant for what it is. It wasn't that the food was particularly bad, but it was nothing special, and we paid €100! The details I mentioned prevented me from giving it a higher rating, I'm sorry.
For a snack, it seemed too expensive: 1 zurito + 1 cortado + 1 portion of lomo = €14.50. The lomo was delicious, but it's very little for the price. When we got paid, they didn't give us the receipt.
Pleasant terrace near the spa, but the price is quite high for the quantity and quality of the food. For just four beers and the bread service (very limited, just two rolls), it costs 13 euros. The service is average, bringing out the hot items before the cold ones, and is quite slow. I don't recommend it.
Well-prepared food. It's modest for the price. They charge you (and a lot for the bread), which is also scarce and supermarket-quality. It takes a long time to take your order and serve you. The place is tastefully decorated, but there are too many tables in a small space.
I went for lunch. It was very hot outside, and although we begged them to turn on the air conditioning, they wouldn't. We had to leave with our food because it was impossible to sit inside or outside. We tried the squid, which was all legs and a bit overpriced (18 euros), but the worst dish of all, without a doubt, was the prawns in batter with earth, also priced at 18 euros. In my opinion, the price was excessive for the quality of the food and they showed little tact with the customers.
Needs improvement. The squid was very salty and chewy, and the croquettes were also over-salted, and the béchamel sauce was too light and bland. A really bad detail is that I asked if I could take two leftover croquettes, and they told me that if I wanted to take them, they would have to charge me 1 euro for the single-use Tupperware container to put them in. I haven't seen any establishment so far that charges you for taking away leftover food. Very bad for Restaurantela Martintera; if we want to end food waste, they should do their part and not charge for taking away your food. Very poor service.
I won't comment on the food because of the price. Each dish arrived an hour late. And it wasn't even full; there were only about three tables. On top of that, they asked us if we had a reservation. I don't know how they'll manage when it's full. They'll be eating all afternoon and then it'll overlap with their afternoon snack... As for the service, we had to call the waiter because he was nowhere to be seen. He was only attending to one table; maybe he was the mayor of the town, hahaha. I don't know. We won't be back. It's a shame because the town is very beautiful and welcoming.
