Opinions de Plaza Bistro Sonoma
What a great experience! Beautiful venue with a stunning wine rack, that extends across the entire wall with a huge selection of local wines. The staff were very attentive, kept our glasses full and delivered all the food at the same time. The blackened prawns had a good bite, and the bruschetta was fantastic. The tomatoes were incredibly flavorful, definitely something special. A little bit higher class and the prices reflect it, but you will enjoy your meal!
Always top tier, friendly service and fantastic A+++ food. The kitchen has an absolute magical touch. Hands down a Sonoma favorite, and a must do for a wonderful brunch, lunch and dinner!
Nice dinner at an outside table! A good bottle of wine with salad and a pasta entee. A bit expensive but very good
We had a one night stop over in Sonoma! We decided on a quick glass of wine and small snack and wandered into the Plaza Bistro. The owner Martin was serving at the bar. He gave us an awesome suggestion of where to stay and other local places to visit. He invited us back for a special he was offering of prime rib later that day. We visited other areas in town and went back later that evening. We were served up a delicious prime rib and more importantly, a very fun evening. We met some local folks and had a night of fun and laughter. If you are looking for a fun place with a local feel, good food, and a beautiful atmosphere you must visit the Plaza Bistro. Martin, Robin and Steve you all are awesome! You made our evening one to remember!
Stopped by for quick bite, food was good and service was wonderful. A bit pricey. Ambient of the restaurant was ok, we were sitting at the kitchen windows side, not much decor at all. Indeed it's kinda out of place with "curtain" ro coverthe kitchen window.
This place was on the way home, and I have to say this is a place to visit. Amazing food, elegant feel. Alexandria took care of us and kept up to our demands. Each plate was delicately put together, making each bite so appetizing. The teramasu was a definite hit and had to buy two. Definitely would return and ask for Alexandria.
From the moment we arrived our server Sasha was amazing and the food outstanding . She was quick to explain the dishes. Very accommodating and make us feel she appreciated us. Made us feel special. 10 star
If you have the opportunity, do yourself a favor and make sure to visit this amazing establishment! My husband and I were visiting Sonoma from Maryland for vacation and we just happened to wander in this restaurant late one evening to grab a drink and some light fare at the bar. The owner, Martin, was phenomenal! He immediately made us feel at home, made the best lemon drops, and the charcuterie board was delicious. We were so impressed that we ended up going back 3 more times for dinner during the rest of our stay! Every single time the food was spectacular and the owner and waitstaff were all so friendly and attentive! When we make it back to Sonoma (hopefully soon) this will be our first stop! So do yourself a favor and if you haven’t visited this marvelous place, make it a priority!!! Thanks so much Martin and staff!!!
Popped in here for dinner after the place we originally planned to go to was actually closed. Glad we did, because it was a really nice dinner. I had the special of the day, fish and chips, with super tender halibut and homemade tartar sauce. Wife had the risotto, which was delicious and not overly rich or creamy. Daughter has the rigatoni bolognese, with a nice meaty sauce. Service was excellent, with a nice outdoor seating area.
Great food and service! Great wine list.

Really pleasant on the patio. Yummy cocktails, some good wine options. The bread, pasta, and eggplant dishes we tried were all delicious. The staff made it relaxed and fun without rushing us.
Stopped here during a wine tour in Sonoma and really enjoyed it. The Spaghetti & Meatballs were a hit, the burger was good, the salad was fresh, and the espresso martini was on point. Service was great, our server Hector F was kind, attentive, and welcoming, and the food came out quickly. The atmosphere was relaxed, the menu was easy to navigate, and it’s a solid lunch stop on the town square. One funny note: my espresso martini was $17 and my burger was $19—almost the same price, which just made me laugh. Both were good, though. Definitely recommend if you’re stopping through Sonoma.

We had a great experience for dinner. Aneta was our server and bartender. She was so personable and made you feel right at home. Our table was on the bar side by the window. Our dinners were well proportioned and tasted great. We liked it so much we came back a 2nd time before we left for drinks at the bar and so glad Aneta was there to serve us again! We highly recommend!
Nice, small place. We had an omelette, fritatta + NY steak. Very nice staff.
This was a nice dining experience with quality food. Nice portion sizes and attentive service with good wine list.
Had the Salmon sandwich for lunch with the tomato soup. Very good! Service was prompt! Happy with the meal! Would recommend! Price is reasonable as well. Quick suggestion, pay attention to your check as the prices were different on my check than what I had seen on the menu. I pointed it out and they corrected it. Location is nice and if you would like to sit outside they have outside seating!

Just stopped for a snack & beer. Had the polenta cakes & they were excellent. Sat outside with a view of the historic park. Enjoyed it.

Stopped here on our winery tour. It was recommended by our tour guide and was known for quick service. We were seated quickly - they have more seating in a back area - quite warm (they had the ceiling fans on low) - it didn’t help that it was one of the hotter days for October 🥵 our server was quick to get our order in. We ordered the small charcuterie board for appetizer and then the salmon sandwich and special halibut fish & chips. Our entrees came out before our appetizer which we weren’t thrilled about but we were hungry. The food was good but the salmon was pretty thin, the board was small and simple (5-6 pieces of sausage, 3 chunks of cheese, two pieces of bread) and the portion of fish & chips compared to the price seemed outrageous ($28 for two small pieces of fish). The servers work fast but I think that can cause forgetfulness - had to search around for malt vinegar and to find our server to get us our bill. The food was good but if we were to return, I would go with the burger or something simple to make the price worth it.
I came here with friends and one of them has a service dog. As soon as we arrived, we were approached by the owner saying “ you can’t bring the dog and asked for id”. We told him that he was not supposed to ask for an id”. He rudely disagreed. He then looked for his car and presented it before we were able to sit. They charge $5 for a soft drink with lots of ice with no refills. On top of it they charge an admin fee . I asked what this was for? They said it was for cc fee. I would not recommend this place to anyone Not worth it. Very rude owner/Manager Food and service was bad and prices way too high

Went to this restaurant for dinner with friends. We are a group of 6, 2 of us are 16, 2 are 18, then 2 parents. After we ate and paid, 3 guest of our party had to use the bathroom. So the rest of us waited by the front inside the restaurant. Then this man came inside probably the manager, asked us what we’re doing. We told him we’re waiting but he didn’t care and kicked us out of the restaurant. It’s also raining very hard. He thought we were solicitating and being kids. Then when the rest of the group finished and came out the restaurant we told them what happened. Then another dude came out of the restaurant, probably another manager or owner, and told my friend nice to see you, indicating that we’re are still solicitating. Do not come here. Waste of money and the owner or manager, whoever kicked us out for ageism does not deserve the money. Being that rude should have pay back. There needs to be a change! #ageism
Horrible experience. Made reservations on Valentine’s Day. Drove 30 minutes out of town to come here based on their menu on their website. With no mention on their site or on google, they had a fixed menu that is completely different than is shown. Nothing we could eat(vegetarian). Absolutely ridiculous to not have any warning of this on their front page of a website. Completely ruined our Valentines Day that we had planned for the surrounding area afterwards, because now I had to frantically find SOMEWHERE else that isn’t hiding their menus
Manager or owner was rude to us telling us to leave assuming we were soliciting, likely because we are young, but we were waiting for the rest of our party to finish using the bathroom after we ate, paid, and tipped. The servers were very welcoming and kind and the food was okay however the owner was a jerk for no reason.
