1st time trying this chain, very good impression. Super clean (their grade posted on the window is A). Fast service. I equate this to a Mexican In-N-Out. Simple menu, quality food. We tried tacos asada and al pastor, sopes asada and carnitas, and mulitas de pollo. I always appreciate a salsa bar, because I hate having to ask and wait for more salsa. Free refills (soda, horchata, tamarindo, piña, jamaica). Definitely would stop by again.

Place spot is pretty decent. Alot of space and they have drive-thru. Food is good. I have tried the asada quesadilla and frijoles de olla and killed it. My boyfriend had the pastor burrito and suggested the meat could of been a little more meatier. Lol overall it was good.

Tacos are decent but their "taco Tuesday' is the biggest joke. Its only 15 cents off from the normal price. They shouldn't advertise that.

Honestly I used to love eating here and several other locations. Something possibly went wrong this past week. Meat was far from what it used to be, tasted like a mix of asada with a drier meat blend. The cotija cheese tasted like parmesan. I will try again but definitely not what it used to be and this is of course a like with other restaurants reducing the portions.

Hope the owners pay attention to this review: The quality and taste of their food has gone down over the years. I miss the taste of old Gavilan from back in the day in LA. Guess they expanded to fast. Aguas frescas are now watered down along with the Champurrado. Self served rabanos and lettuce never came back. Meat quality has suffered and prices have gone up, understandable with the times, but quality should still be there. They continue to have a clean environment and friendly customer service I'll give them that. But taste and quality of the old Gavilan is now missing. I wish them the best, but they lost an old customer.

Ordered breakfast burritos & was given tacos. They charged 30 dollars for 6 tacos which wasn't even what we ordered..... If they didn't have burritos they could have just said that.

Came here after my 12hr shift to get some fire tacos and sopes but when I made it home realized that I was skimped out on my sope. I’ve been eating tacos Gavilan for years and now they charge almost $5 per sope and it doesn’t even have the meat serving of one $2 taco. They are being very stingy with the serving size on the sopes. My tacos are fully loaded no problem but the sopes are weak now idk why they charge so much and almost no food. Rather hit up street tacos or King taco at least they are consistent with serving portions.

I got a burrito for $9 I used to get it for $6 a year ago I understand prices when up But why put a lot less food in it If you prices when up I understand if you kept the prices low But you didn't A total rip off!

I was incredibly disappointed by this food (and a bit disgusted). The pot of refried beans was just liquid...almost like it had been watered down. The chicken in the tacos looked nothing like chicken and it was like each tiny piece had been deep fried. The pork quesadilla was drenched in grease and the smashed avocado was fizzy. Ended up leaving most of it as I was worried it'd make me ill. All the other reviews are quite positive so maybe this was a one-off but I'd definitely never order from there again.
