Opinions de Jimmy's South Lake Tahoe
We’ve been on the road for three weeks before we arrived to Tahoe and tried Jimmy’s. It was hands down the best food we’ve hand in the US thus far and I’m sure it will be hard to top. Just wonderful - coconut and carrot soup was balanced out perfectly, bolognese and short rib were incredible, my mouth waters days after and the desserts were also just delicious. Would recommend to anyone looking for great food!
Views (even though it was cloudy n rainy) are fabulous and the food was delicious. Came for brunch. Hubby had the omelet and I had the Cuban sammy. Delicious.
Best Chef, every bite is like a trip back in time. There's no good rating because each plate is an experience. 👊 I can't believe they love me so much they let me put a soft boiled egg on their breakfast salmon salad... and eat it like it's the best thing ever made. My photos are just a sample 🔥 #thisisasliceofparadise
Spontaneous day trip to South Lake Tahoe and found great place to eat. Amazing view of the lake even on a snow day. The food was delicious! Kids plates of macaroni and cheese, sourdough mac and cheese with fries did not last long on the plates. The rabbit leg was delicious, took me back to when I last had it (6 years old then). 10/10 recommend!
I usually leave a review only when it’s really bad or really good, this falls under the REALLY GOOD review. Food: amazing presentation , the flavours are fresh and goes together, and ingredients are fresh. Worth every bit but I wish the portion is a bit more generous for the price. Service: attentive, sincere, warm. Faultless. Ambience: the crisp air from the snowy mountains makes it super nice. We arrived close to sunset and the view and everything just works. I would recommend the outdoor seat.
Charity and the crew are the best! Charity goes above and beyond! Beautiful food, great service and a great Happy Hour! We really enjoy Jimmys and the view is amazing!
Great breakfast with a view. We came looking for delicious breakfast with a view and that’s exactly what we found. Eggs Benedict and potato’s (hash browns) and the Heavenly Granola Bowl were perfectly made and tasted wonderful. For a Saturday morning in August the weather was cool and the restaurant was quiet with great ambience. $60 plus tip for 2, well worth it.

Have to update the great dinner experience with a poor breakfast experience. The male waiter behaved arrogant, did not serve the dish as requested, coffee was served cold, and long before the food, no options for teas. Dinner was so much better: This was the best Chilean sea bass I have ever had. Slightly crunchy on the outside, soft with a good bite inside, and the orange sauce very creamy without being sweet or fatty. Scallops were very good, too. The cheesecake did not convince. A place to be back to!

This was a last minute find with a view of the lake. We had just missed happy hour but was happy we ended up here as the food was decadent. Apparently, the menu changes periodically so won't recommend dishes. Just know the food, presentation and service (Aaron) was all 5 star.
Let me first say this: this will not be an over exaggeration. I brought my mother here for her birthday. We chose the restaurant because there was mention of allowing dogs. They do allow well behaved dogs. Massive plus in my books, especially for a fine dining-type restaurant. The food was great. Ribeye was cooked perfectly, the tiger prawn pasta was so so so good. Had just a little heat (wish it had just a tad more, but that's just me). The flavor was just great. But honestly the two highlights were the drinks and Kevin, our server. Whoever is in charge of the drink menu loves to experiment. And I love that. They have a rotating "punch" that is constantly changing. Tonight's was a play on a White Russian with an espresso float. It's hard to describe how good it was, but just think of the best espresso martini you have had, and you might come close. But there were other drinks too: the Broken Arrow, there was something else I can't remember but had the word velvet. It was all just so good. Major kudos to the mixologists! And there was Kevin. He went so far above and beyond that it really made my mother's birthday special. Thank you to all the staff at Jimmy's. We will definitely be back!
My husband and I had a delicious dinner in the newly renovated restaurant. The crab cakes were some of the best I have ever had. I loved the seabass. It was cooked perfectly. We are looking forward to our next visit. We want to try the Rib Eye and Mushroom Risotto. We watched it go by to another table and the presentation looks amazing. Our server was friendly and attractive. We had a great dining experience!! Thank you
We came in May for our Honeymoon and were just absolutely blown away by the food and the service! We ordered from Jimmy’s 3 times it was THAT GOOD. All 3 times our server was Aaron and he was incredible. He was so hard working, charismatic and had great recommendations & knowledge of the menu! He provided excellent room service and overall made our experience that much more special! We had the crab cakes, Caesar salad, steak and 3 different kinds of dessert! Bananas foster, chocolate lava cake with blackberry ice cream and crème brûlée with fresh fruit! I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough! Fantastic! 11/10
Wonderful surprise... One of the closest restaurants to where we live and we had never been there! Decided to try it on a whim at 6PM, weekday night (off season). It was packed. No way to get a table but the bar serves same menu and there was a quiet corner with 3 stools open. The place is nice and cozy and appears to be very popular. Parking faces the lake and is right on the beach. I'm sure people love to hang out on the decks on summer nights but it was just too cold for us (Late October). The bar seating was just fine, very good service and excellent food. We tried the Wagu Flat Iron, Braised Short Ribs and Sea Bass. Everyone was happy with their own meal... That's three thumbs up. Good wine and bourbon selection to boot. We shall be back with reservations next time.
Spectacular lunch and dinner! Breakfast was good, but not ideal (really badly burnt toast on the avocado toast) - but I highly suggest the waffles! Delicious!! Drinks are incredible, and the service is great. Don’t skip out on dessert either- the vanilla bean creme brûlée was divine. I’d suggest making reservations to avoid any wait times.

My wife and I visited Jimmy’s at the Landing in South Lake Tahoe for their Thanksgiving dinner. We had pre-reserved the set menu and arrived on time. The staff was friendly and our server was excellent—polite, attentive, and professional throughout the evening. Ambience & Seating The biggest issue of the night was the table placement and the atmosphere around it. We were seated at an awkward, non-standard table located off to the side. Even worse, the couple next to us had a dog that barked at every single person walking by. This continued throughout the meal and made it difficult to enjoy the dining experience. For a holiday dinner priced at this level, I expected the restaurant to manage seating and noise disruptions more effectively. Food The Thanksgiving menu was $150 per person and included multiple courses. Amuse-bouche: My wife received half of a deviled egg. I had the crispy halloumi, which was excellent and full of flavor. Soups: My wife’s French onion soup was outstanding—rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. I had the pumpkin soup, which was beautifully presented but just okay in terms of taste. Appetizer: We both had the prosciutto and pear dish. Very good flavors, but the portion was extremely small—only a couple of bites. Entrées: I ordered the Thanksgiving turkey dinner. The turkey was cooked well but the portion size was disappointing for a holiday meal. My wife had the ribeye, which was delicious and cooked perfectly. Drinks I had a local beer ($10) and my wife opted for the $65 wine pairing, which was actually a great value and well-selected for the courses. Price Our total came to about $450 including tax and tip. Given the quality of the service and some of the dishes, parts of the meal were enjoyable—but the seating arrangement and the continuous barking from a nearby dog significantly reduced the overall value of the experience. Overall Jimmy’s has great service and solid food, but our Thanksgiving dinner was affected by poor seating and a very disruptive nearby dog. For a special holiday meal at this price point, the restaurant should ensure a more comfortable and controlled dining environment.
Great place for dinner at the hotel, we liked: Lamb chops, beets salad, mushroom and the French fries! The kids pizza was less… Other than slow service, we liked the food!
It is a very nice place to have lakeside dining. The happy hour was excellent. They have great wings and wine. The dinner highlight is the pull apart bread. The breakfast is terrible and processed food. Overall the it is pricy for the quality of food, but you are paying for the view. The service was ok, nothing to rave about.
I stayed for 4 nights at the Landing, had a great time overall. I ate a Jimmy's everyday sometimes a couple times a day and really enjoyed the food. It's a combo of "California" type food, mediterranean and featured some game meats like venison and rabbit. I stuck with the seafood for the most part and enjoyed every meal there especially the scallop appetizer, perfectly cooked and presented. Same goes for the crab cakes. If you are in Tahoe, the location is great, right on the water with fantastic views, highly recommended.
It’s romantic place. But we have 2 under 2 toddlers so we just wanted the food asap. But maybe today too many people so it’s a little bit slow. And kids fries are too salty.
Jimmy’s is a quaint restaurant right on the water and on a quiet street. Their food is traditional and hearty comfort food. The chef really knows how to fill your belly with good portions and flavors. The lamb shank fell off the bone and had a nice amount of fat to it, while the risotto was creamy and rich with a expertly sautéed portobello on the bottom. The firecracker shrimp was crunchy, yet succulent. Their cocktails were also well balanced and flavorful, although a little on the smaller side. The staff here is very friendly and attentive, although not fine dining service, they make you feel relaxed and at home. I would recommend a meal at Jimmy’s if youre in the South Lake Tahoe area
Very tasty food, the food was perfect, taste, presentation, everything was perfect! Very tasty desserts. If you like to eat delicious food, you should definitely dine here! From the minuses: not very cozy, it felt like we were sitting in the Livig Room, music was not heard any but only the sound of plates in the kitchen. The furniture is all old and worn. It did not feel like an expensive restaurant, although the prices are quite expensive.

Jimmy's at The Landing is a delight for all the senses. Highest most is the delightful view of Tahoe from much of the dining room and outdoor patio. The service was as great as one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Th waiter was prompt and knowledgeable about the menu and drink pairings and the water glasses were never less than half full. To start we enjoyed the Lobster Crab Cakes which were an easy favorite for my wife and quite deserving. I enjoyed the Chilean Sea Bass with massive shrimp. I found the seasoning to be inconsistent over the bass which is a bit disappointing for the price but it was cooked to perfection. A bit of a roller coaster. To finish we enjoyed the Pistachio Cake which was splendidly soft and had an excellent texture, a definite recommendation from me!
Dinner party of three Score range 1-10 Filet Mignon topped with oyster mushroom: Overall score 4. Tough to cut, not a tender piece of meat at all. Slightly overcooked. Side of asparagus. Very minimal and basic. Maine Lobster Pappardelle: Overall score 6. Creamy Calabrian pasta dish with decent amount of lobster, wild mushrooms and roasted tomatoes, topped with parmesan cheese. Could have had a bit more bite to the sauce, but overall was good. Chilean sea bass: Overall score 6 The sea bass was a perfect portion size after consuming the appetizers, it was well balanced so it wasn’t too heavy, the fish was so buttery it melts in your mouth, however could have had a little bit more flavor on the fish as well as the beurre blanc sauce that came with it. It could have included more greens on the plate, there were diced snap peas but the rest of the veggies were potatoes, it would have been more balanced if the greens and carbs went hand in hand. other than that, no complaints.
