Opinions de Kaldi South Pasadena
My favorite coffee shop in Los Angeles. It’s the heart of south Pasadena. Lovely community. Baristas very nice. Owners very down to earth, always there. I get my iced vanilla latte there every since day!
Make sure to order a Vente not a large black coffee. They don't accept Lira either. Awesome spot if you need a break from tasting the beast.
Found this gem while walking around the so pas public library, five stars for the most amazing chai tea latte I've ever had!! I usually try one everywhere because it tastes different wherever you go. On the downside there seems to be no public restrooms. I haven't had to go yet while visiting, but I can see this as a future problem. Anyway, they were nice enough to waive the $5 min since I was a few cents away (not sure that this is a regular thing).
Frozen mint coffee is great! I would love them to do the same with mint tea make it frozen, not just iced I HAVE TO UPDATE: Tried it again a month ago and the flavor wasn't there. I guess it depends a lot on the server for this drink.
I love this place. It even has the old vault from the old bank. A warm welcoming feeling by the staff. Great products. A powerful film & tv location. Love coming here anytime of the year especially in the winter when it feels like New England with the chill in the air and the crispness of the crackling leaves on the ground.
Anything is better than the 'bucks. Well maybe that's going a bit far, but I do enjoy this coffee shop. I've always had polite service here, and I like sitting outside where I can pet dogs going out on walks. It's right across from the library so the vibe is chill.
I can't get over how smooth their dark roast is! It is my go to place when I want a cup of coffee. The pastries look great but haven't tried them yet. Laid back, friendly atmosphere.
Considering my companion and I only drink black coffee, no cream or sugars in order to judge the quality and taste. We ordered medium House coffee and it was Superb. It had a medium body with a satisfying taste. Kudos to them!
I started going to Kaldi in 1994. It's still the best little coffee shop in South Pasadena. I'm so glad it's still around. So many memories there. I love their coffee but this summer the Blended frozen vanilla latte was my go to.
Located next to Pasadena library, this hidden gem has the best honey vanilla latte! It's absolutely phenomenal! The perfect combination of sweetness from the honey and the delightful aroma of vanilla make this latte a true treat for the taste buds. The baristas at Kaldi are always friendly and welcoming, which adds to the overall positive experience. If you're a fan of lattes, I highly recommend giving their honey vanilla latte a try. It's a sip of pure bliss! It's giving me cozy vibes too! Not all tables have outlets because I was thinking to come here to do some work.
Best coffee in South Pas!! the espresso drinks are smooth and rich and the staff is super friendly. Also they have local art all over the walls which really brings together a community vibe. Skip the chains like Jones and La Monarca and check out this wonderful ma and pop cafe :)
Good coffee shop atmosphere. Interesting art on the wall, some of it is kinda creepy. The coffee is good. Well kept behind the bar. And the recipes seem fairly standard for a coffee shop. Mocha, Cappuccino, Au Lait, etc are all there and their foam is decent. The real interesting feature is the building housing Kaldi Coffee & Tea. Beautiful wood floors with stains and chips, shows the history of the building, and the old vault door frame is still in place revealing its past. Fun little find and a good neighborhood coffee shop
I went there with my friend for the first time I 😍 loved it.I like the Art on the walls.Nice quite place
Good neighborhood coffee spot. Fair prices and happy helpers. Been there for years. Used in a lot of commercials. Plenty of outdoor seating. No inside seating due to COVID right now. In a historic building with a lot of character. The serve pastries and have sandwiches too. All good. Give the independent stores the business.
First time trying this place. EXCELLENT! The lady owner actually made me a tuna sandwich that I ordered. I loved how she took extra care in preparing it and how professionally wrapped it was. I especially loved my homemade iced Mexican mocha latte that was prepared by this nice, tall blonde, young lady. I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN!!
A South Pasadena classic! I've been going here for years and the quality is always high with fairly typical cafe service. The ambience of this place wins it for me. On a quiet street with beautiful surroundings and the library close at hand. Quality espresso, too. My go-to drink is always the iced americano with a splash of cream, and it never tastes too watery. Note: they have good WiFi but no public restroom.
Amazing ambience for getting work done at a cafe. Can move to the library when it closes or if you just need a change of scene.
Kaldi's is easily my favorite cafe I know of. Great prices and selection for their coffees and teas. I haven't been disappointed once with my orders. But by far the environment/aesthetic is the best thing going for it. A perfect little corner of the street, hole in the wall, brick building cafe. It's in a quiet part of South Pasadena; It's right next to a library with paved park that goes around the library. If you go once, you'll find yourself coming back again.
I have always enjoyed coming to this place but then again, I try not to have expectations on the places that I go to. As such what I ordered I get it's tasty and good but I don't ask more of the place than I can give. I make small talk with the cashiers oh, we've always been young ladies who have their own sense of style and Poise, and one has to respect that.
This intimate little coffee house has become a perfect date spot for my hubby and I. Something about its vibes just make you never want to leave. Nestled in a quaint corner of South Pasadena, Kaldi's coffee and teas are all exceptional and the pastries are just an added bonus to your trip here. There's art on the walls for sale and regulars who come here to strum their guitars and chat. Oh! And there's a park with a library right across the street. Come on Thursdays for the farmers market Enjoy!
Excellent Matcha latte I had never had a Mexican mocha before, but I tried it and it was outstanding. Definitely recommend and will be coming back. Their food options are also delightful.
This cafe is on the corner by the South Pas library and it has a really laid back feel to it. The interior is light and cozy with fun art on the walls. The drinks here are good and there are a decent amount of food and pastry options. Lots of great seating inside and on the patio.
They make a lovely latte. All of their stuff is good! The vibe indoors is very pleasant, and I basically always see people sitting outdoors during the day, enjoying the ambience of a quiet corner of SoPas right across the street from the library. Kaldi's a classic, for sure.
Cute coffee shop, love the seating outside with the big trees for shade. Good coffee, friendly staff, and the best part: no charge for milk alternatives!
Great food and coffee, really nice atmosphere. Sadly they are only open till 5:00 (5:30 on Thursdays) but very worth a visit.
The baristas are super friendly, the pastries are so good and it's a great location to watch people with their dogs. I love the architecture of this building
Their mint ice coffee is perfect summer time delight, and the cafe is a great place to sit with a book. There's also a nice community of musicians that gather on the weekends.
I often come here on a Saturday or Sunday morning to get a coffee and go for a walk. The food and coffee are good quality and reasonably priced. The shop is in an old school corner store type of location, and I'm a fan of the retro.
This is, by far, my favorite spot to get an hour or two of work in. The lighting, ambiance, playlist, and food/coffee are always 10/10. Their Wi-Fi is also excellent, and it's very easy to access the restroom at the library across the street. Also, the employees are extremely friendly. I never have to wait more than 2-3 minutes for a drink.
Great little local coffee place with delicious baked goods and sandwiches. My personal favorite is the Mexican Mocha, but everything is fantastic. The vibe is relaxed and comfortable with works by local artists for sale on the wall. Enjoy!
I come here all the time to get my work done and it hasn’t failed me yet! I am obsessed with the cozy atmosphere, it literally looks like a coffee shop out of a Nancy Meyers movie. The coffee is great and made quickly and the staff seem to love working here- I see them hanging out even when they’re not working which in my opinion is a sign of a great coffee shop with great managers. I know this is a South Pas staple and for good reason- this coffee shop has been home to many workdays for me and I am grateful for such an amazing place to cozy up and get a nice drink.

Dropped by to get some drinks. All the seats were taken and the interior has a very local, homey feel which I like.
A perfect cup of good day at kaldi coffee and tea. So nice to see the barista is care about their latte art. She actually make a second cup because she is not happy with first one. Compare to other hipster coffee shop, this is much friendlier and much more welcome. Tow thumbs up from me.
I like their location! Nice to have a seat by a big window. Nice view of south pasadena. Visited here two times, had cinnamon bread(highly recommended) and Mexican style latte(?)-not my style. I also had hibiscus iced tea-was good. It’s good they have a happy hour-you can get one plus one drink
Super cheep, decent coffee. Nice staff, but couldn’t give a 5 start because everything was just good (not great)

Cute coffee shop with wifi and a few outdoor tables that are due to be replaced. The coffee did not stand out to me and the barista didn't bother with any latte art which is a disappointing trend these days. There is also no bathrooms in the cafe or near by which is an issue if you have a small bladder and want to have coffee 🤣 sorry won't be returning. The staff are nice at least!
Don’t really understand what the point of closing right in the middle of the farmers market at 5pm and shooing away all the people sitting at the outdoor tables is the drinks are all too sweet in a suburban way
I like the ambience in the store but I get lots of coffee grounds in my coffee. The Mexican mocha taste wise is pretty okay but could have a less acidic coffee taste and a stronger cinnamon flavor, and I don’t like the sandy texture of the coffee grounds. Location isn’t bad, great spot for work.

They don't quite seem to know the difference between a cappuccino and a latte. No variety of muffins or dessert cakes. Drink was served scalding hot, to the point it tasted like the coffee was burnt. I think a true barista understands that if the drink is too hot it ruins the coffee, also nearly scalded my lips. also no public restrooms which I've also seen commented on by other reviewers. This is a big negative. Otherwise good location, nice building, but more expensive than Starbucks for about the same quality.
I found out that the owners are retiring by the end of December. I overheard two people talking about it saying they can't wait for them to leave because they want someone new to run the place. Personally, I think it's inappropriate and rude to say that. I don't know the owners, but with customers like those, no wonder they're leaving. Also, the white girl who works there in the morning can't make a simple coffee.
3.5 on Yelp. Opinion: Prices are adequate. The menu is meh. Facts: Saturday morning, waited 5 minutes for coffee and 23 minutes for a panini. By the time I got it, I had forgotten about it. Not kidding. Clearly under staffed. Customer service deplorable. 100% too-obvious passive aggressiveness. You'll get a more welcoming attitude and better-everything at Starbucks (believe it or not). Cool corner spot, easy parking.
Oh man. No wonder this place averages 3 stars. I came here because they are the only place open on Easter and I needed to get work done. The location is really great with lots of street parking around. The ambiance is really nice and great to get work done. I ordered an iced Mochanut and it's delicious. So I set up my laptop and about to start working when...my laptop won't connect to the Internet. And then it finally does and it's super slow. And then it stops working. I have a draft that needs to go out tonight and I can't work on it. So I ask them to reset the Internet and the owner treats it like its a bother to ask but the thing is that a bunch of people are here to use the Internet and to work. It's too bad. This place has a lot going for it and the management sucks.
Break my Marbles! Get ready this is gonna be slasher. Kaldi Coffee & Tea is a corner coffee shop in South Pasadena. They serve basic coffee, tea, specialty drinks and pastries. Interior design and layout were cool sleek and spacious, respectively. Atmosphere was nice with plenty of natural light. Young staff were nice. They have front outdoor seats for those who prefer some view. I had a Mint Iced Coffee and it's complete whoppers! If Sauron exists this drink is perfect for him and his minions. It's blithering pathetic drink; there was not a good balance of elements in this mint IC. Drink was not brewed smoothly, not refreshing, banal plastic cup, and on top of it über milky. All I had was a tiny sip and I quivered. And I knew that it was a subpar-mediocre iced coffee. The price does not reflect the quality, I threw it away. No wonder the rating was utterly garbage. I suggest they overhaul their drinks. Overall, I will never come back again. And waste my resources. Not sure why folks enjoy this kind of iced drink.
Nice neighborhood. Dog owners welcome! Came here on a Saturday where the street vendors and highschool band are present. Mediocre food and coffee-- not much of fresh coffee smell. & They got the order wrong, but with the pre-tip rules, there's really not much to do. I don't know if there's a restroom for guests, but a wheelchair may need to stay outside, because the double door is not automatic and only one side is open. There's seats outside.

I’ve been coming here for awhile to support local and never understood why they got such bad reviews. I mean, the coffee isn’t mind-blowing, but it’s also not terrible. And the service, while not tip-deserving, is also not a deal breaker. Today I finally understand why it’s rated so low....No public restrooms. They send you to the public library which wouldn’t be too bad (just across the street) except if it’s closed, you’re outta luck. They told us to try La Monarca (a bakery/cafe) on Mission (8 min walk) but you’ll have to buy something from them in order to use the restroom....so you’re better off just going to La Monarca in the first place. This is the first cafe I’ve been to that doesn’t offer a restroom. They obviously must have a restroom for their employees and it’s disappointing that they didn’t think to make an exception for when the library is closed.
Every time I come in here I’m reminded why I shouldn’t support this place. This happens to me every time and it’s always the same curly haired guy. It might be the service industry inside me but I feel it’s common courtesy to greet and acknowledge your customer when they walk in or if you are busy. Not have them standing there for 3-5 minutes without acknowledging them. mind you it’s not even busy and I’m the only one in line. I was already walking out when the owner called me back. Not coming here again.
Honestly, by far the worst coffee shop ever! When I came in, no one welcomed me in. I ordered a Mexican Mocha, it was a waste of $4. It lacks taste, it legit taste like coffee with milk. Where is the mocha? Also, the croissant was stale.. If you are not a regular here, expect to get bad service.

Service was not good, I had to leave without getting anything because it was taking too long. No one ever acknowledged my presence and when I eventually asked if someone could help me I was a given a non answer, and so I left.
