Excellent location! This is one of the few Pontillos left that really actually does have the original flavor which, if you remember what that is like, its really darn good. The service at this location is also impeccable. I have gotten slices and whole pies and they all taste the same and they are all fantastic. Try it if you haven't. You will not be disappointed. Updated 7/18/22 - Still amazing pizza!

OMG!! I ordered some dry rubber wings( fried to me) with some French fries(extra crispy) who ever was cooking today!!! You did an excellent job, the wings and fries was on point!!!! Thank you!!!!

Staff was friendly and polite. It was nice to see that an order of wings is still 12 good size pieces as most places now only serve 10. Will definitely order again. Craft 120 is right behind this place also (craft brewery). beautiful joint if you have a chance to check it out do it. Pizza was excellent and service was great.

The food was very good. Service was o.k. as for the atmosphere, it is a pizzeria.

This place makes great pizza but only wish they made garlic knots or garlic breadsticks. Would probably order more often!

I ordered the wrong condiments so I don't think I can give an honest review. I will definitely order another one soon and update my review.

The employees are always in a good mood and the pizza is great. I wouldn't suggest getting a sheet pizza though because it just doesn't have the same taste as if you were to get the regular range of sizes. I also think they should be more on top of local deals and coupons (i.e. 20% off on Mondays, ect.)

The place is not air conditioned. The tables were sticky as we're the benches. No ice in the drink machine. Not a good place to eat in. The pizza is fair, but not great. They do put generous amounts of toppings on.

Not a bad location. Definitely clean and well maintained. The cashier / cook seemed to be in a bit of a bad mood but didn't do anything that would deter me from visiting again. The menu and prices looked good. And I'm slightly intrigued by the hot sauce soda.

One of those not great, but not horrible experiences. The calzones crust was good and cooked to the right temp, but the filling was under seasoned and bland. The sauce included was just plain tomato sauce.

If you enjoy hot and greasy pizza that is fairly overpriced, this will be a great option for you...! The cup that they give you for soda is styrofoam and maybe 12 ozs(?). At $2.00, it's not a steal of a deal. The employee taking the order was annoyed that I asked for a different cup that was not already sticky. I would probably look for a different pizza place than go back to this one... :(

I can not find a current menu w prices anywhere. Only menus available do not have accurate prices, be sure to ask prices before ordering. Everything is extremely inflated lately. Seem to be chasing profits by cutting quality and jacking prices. Also, check the seal on ur sodas and drinks before consuming!!!

Ordered a slice and fries... Worst slice ever. Pretty much no cheese, only 2 pepperoni and it took 15-20 minutes ordered from the counter. Fries were ok. Not going back...

Two dozen wings and two slices like the one below, for $40. Tough to even give 2 stars, but the wings were at least good size. The slice was comparable to 7-11. Not what I would expect from a pizzeria. The one in Bushnell’s Basin is way way better than this.

Ordered a small pizza and cheese curds... small pizza... yeah more like a personal pan pizza... slices were bite size. So small and price was 15.. had 3 ppl to feed who don't eat much but no way did that "small" feed 3... had to order a medium which cost 25.. just for extra cheese n pepperoni... medium was more like a small... guess I should have went with large. Pricy food n not good quantity :/

Don’t bother unless you want a incorrect order and cold food with a rude staff. This is the third time I’ve been here and they’ve messed up my order. Ended up throwing out my food and going to Burger King. Aparently fast food workers understand the basic concept that the food should be warm, while the cook at Pontillo’s doesn’t. I could understand if I lived 20 minutes away, but I lived right around the corner and showed up when they told me too. Guy working the counter seemed like he couldn’t care less. Complete waste of time and money I won’t be back

Weather was bad so they wouldn't deliver to my address so I went and picked it up close to closing time . I ordered a pizza which was dry and 2 orders of wings one was boneless garlic one bone in hot when I received my order both orders were the same and neither one was hot or garlic it was close to close time whe I picked up the order so I didn't complain that night and when I called the next day the person on the phone was completely unhelpful said I should have called the night before I said I had the resept they said they didn't know what I wanted them to do about it. A bit rude.. will never order from there again

I’ve always loved Pontillo’s food but as of recently it’s gone downhill. Recently ordered lunch with my family and most of the food was cold. The sub we got was made incorrectly and Lettuce was very brown. Guy at the counter was rude and unapologetic. Overall pontillos is just a waste of money, very disappointing to see as it was once one of my favorite places to eat in town. You’re better off going to any of the other 8 Pizza places in Newark, don’t bother with Pontillo’s

Came in for lunch and they didn't have any slices and when I asked if they were making more they said no. What's the point of having lunch specials if you can't get anything on the menu.

Order took 45 minutes for 2 subs and mozz sticks totaling about $30. Subs had been crushed and tasted terrible. Mozz sticks were ice cold and sitting in the sauce that had broken open. First and last time I will be ordering from here.

Ordered a tuna sub with cheese, tomato and lettuce. The guy who took my order just stared at me, never said hello or what would you like today. Got back to work and discovered they toasted by tuna sub. Gross. Never asked me. I hate warm tuna. Plus the roll was squished and soggy.

It is a rip off the web site you are reading this review on is "a fake website" at least thats what i was told by a very rude lady on the phone when i tired to order my food.they charged me 12.95 for a medium pizza when it clearly says 9.95 when i asked why the price change i was told that this website is fake and that if i typed in another special website the real prices would be on that website.it all sounded like a bait and switch im sure most ppl just dont notice the difference or are to hungry to care but it is clearly a hustle

Really great at never getting the order right. I gave them plenty of opportunities, but no. I hate not getting what I pay for. For constant disappointment order from them.

Bad customer service. Food is greasy, cheap ingredients, and overpriced for what you get. It’s obvious employees do not like their job there. The establishment has been going downhill for years and it appears they have hit rock bottom.

$18 for this atrocity. The first “calzone” they messed up so it was free. The second one wasn’t any better, just a pile of mush don’t waste your time and money.

Then when call back she states " im sorry theres nothing we can do about it now" 42.00 for calzone and wings and a 5.50$ tip. Im done ordering from you. No customer service. They put a garlic butter sauce on the wings so my wife called and took them back to exchange them for mild buffalo. The manager took the wings from her, washed them off, put the right sauce on, and handed them back saying they were new wings. They were soggy and tasted awful, we're done with this establishment. Everyone makes mistakes, it was the failure to fix it and lying about it that was completely unacceptable.

Mine was a little crispy around the top and the bottom not even a little cooked. Worst sub I have had from there in a long time. When I order and pick up it is right but when I call for delivery this is what we get. It happened before. Cliff ordered Buffalo chicken sub and they forgot his dipping sauce. Unacceptable order for 40.00. Will be going back to BB’s.

I dont normally leave reviews but Last night, my boyfriend and I ordered pizza, garlic bread and mozz sticks, and the food tasted alright. It was a little expensive but didn't mind. However, an hour later we started feeling very nauseous, and that started the Neverending series of running to the bathroom. If it was just me, I would think it didn't agree with me. However, since it was both of us, it just sucked and we definitely think we got food poisoning from here.

My husband and I had a small order, not only did it take almost 2 hours to get to us, all the food was cold, and mozz sticks were soggy, when we called to check on our order after politely asking and apologized for calling in Bc we knew they were busy we were met with a very rude manager and then hung up on in the middle of me talking very nicely to just ask how much longer it would be. We didn’t ask for a refund or any sort.just simply wanted to know how long our food would take and make sure everything was ok.
