Bistro on the Boulevard - Saint Joseph

We had a WONDERFUL meal and overall experience here on 6/18/2023. Our server Courtney was super attentive, knowledgeable and just took great care of us. The appetizers we ordered were extremely generous portions and really delicious. Truly there was no need for an entrée, but we split the elk chops which were cooked to perfection and possibly the best elk I've had in ages. Sadly no room for dessert, but I bet it's great here. Highly recommend this place.

We had a reservation for 7, but got done early and they were able to accommodate us. The service was outstanding, very quick on water service and for the server to greet us. We had the Hot Honey Cauliflower, it was a little on the sweet side, but still very well prepared. The butter with the bread basket was outstanding! Husband has sea bass. It was a little rich, but good. The veggie bowl was fresh and the steak frites our daughter loved. Would come again definitely.

A seriously decent restaurant with excellent service Hot honey battered cauliflower and cheese garlic dipping bread to share was heavenly and then Steak tornados to die for!! We were finished but in discussion with our server we had to try the Key Lime Pie and it was as described amazing, thank you chef!! Seriously well worth a visit

A wonderful restaurant located in downtown St. Joe's. Their excellent hospitality was felt from their watestaff, to their bartenders, and the executive chef. A well thought-through menu pairs with craft cocktails to make this a dining experience you must check out. The Fritto Misto is delicately battered and adds a beautiful texture to this dish. The addition of asparagus, mango, and Fresno chilis creates a mix-and-match of flavors to allow you to find your "perfect bite." The bay scallops didn't add much once fried and could have been left out. My hidden gem in this menu is the Humboldt Fog Brulee. The balance of flavors and textures that span from one end of the spectrum to the other creates a culinary song that will make you smile. The "Little" Caesar is far from small. It includes a very delightful play on the crouton. I would recommend the addition of anchovies to help balance the salt and acidity. However, the roasted tomatoes tie this dish together nicely. Pappardelle. It was everything I expected and everything I didn't. The ingredients read rich, rich, rich...and I was right. However, the wild mushrooms, which included morels, added a much needed earthy punch. I was taken aback by the bed of noodles, which needed a knife to cut through. It was a very heavy dish, and I used a lemon to provide some relief. It is a great choice that creates great leftovers!

I was watching Hells Kitchen for weeks straight and thought this place was similar. I wasnt dissapointed! Having hamachi for the first time was not a dissapointment. My daughter is picky but absolutely loved sharing the filet with me! Cyler gave exemplory service. As long as this place stays the same i will revisit every summer!

The best place to eat in st Joseph! Sorry world, western Michigan is not the gastronomic capital of the world. I can start listing the ten reasons why, but that’s likely to cure a case of insomnia. For some respite to the cookie cutter restaurants and semi processed food breweries, the bistro has some fantastic food. Generous portions that are flavorful, they excel in seafood but you can’t go wrong. The tenderloin hash is world class and the staff are fantastic. The ambience is nostalgic for a time gone by.

Cozy restaurant in St Joseph. Highly recommended to dine here if you are in St Joe. We had Lamb lion and cod fish (special menu). Enjoy their wine selection to pair with my lamb lion.

We try to come here as much as we can and its worth the drive from Chicago.

I made a reservation to celebrate our anniversary. We were surprised by a card, signed by the team! Food was delicious and the the server was so kind, giving us all her attention during our dinner. The desert was on them and closed the dinner with perfection. I highly recommend the restaurant if you are looking for a good food and a nice dining experience!

Absolutely amazing restaurant. Every dish was unique and delicious in its own right. The flank steak was probably the best I've ever had and I'm a steak freak. Then the scallop and shrimp pasta was to die for. The noodles, the sauce, and the perfectly seared scallops that literally melted in your mouth was on point. The flavor profiles were top knotch. And don't even get me started on the strawberry creme brule..... I will be returning. If you want to have a high end dining taste and feel for middle of the road pricing I highly suggest the Bistro. Also, maybe you'll get lucky to have Robert as your server. Super cool, laid back and was very professional.

I was able to Enjoy the last nice weekend and sunset on St.Joseph in Michigan in The Boulevard Inn & Bistro. Hotels are priced through the weekend but you work hard to play harder 🤫😎 this review is about the restaurant on the main floor of this hotel! 10% discount for anyone how's stays for the night. The patio is always a big plus for any restaurant or bar. Because the weather was fabulous we decided to stay outside and have dinner on the patio, drinks were ok my mojito was not that good but every place had a different receipt I got it, and as an appetizer we took scallops and the was delicious!! Bit too salty but very delicious, and as main try I try lamb burger - and that was my first time to try it and was ok / I think I prefer a regular beef burger 😅, menu is big and many things to try but this will happen next time!

Very happy with my experience here. Great service and the food was amazing. We only got breakfast but would love to come back in the future to try more. I would absolutely recommend!

Truly lovely restaurant with fantastic food! I can vouch for the halibut on the main menu for dinner, and several of the appetizers. Cocktails are pretty good, very wide selection. Really good atmosphere and good customer services ball. Great place to have a business dinner, date night, or simply an upscale meal when you're in the mood. I enjoyed it and highly recommend!

Great location near Lake Michigan (few min walk to the beach). Very good service. Ordered sea bass and sole and chocolate cake. They were very flavorful and tasty. I would highly recommend this place.

The food was awesome. It has to be the best restaurant in Saint Joseph. The dining room is beautiful with a view overlooking the bluff and Lake Michigan.

Once a month this Summer, I enjoy a luxury breakfast at the Bistro on the Boulevard in St. Joseph, overlooking beautiful Lake Michigan. The food is divine. Cooked to perfection and delightfully seasoned. It makes an ordinary person like me feel rich! Breakfast on the balcony is my favorite place to start my day!

The food here way exceeded my expectations. Good amount of vegetarian/vegan options too. Do yourself a favor and order the hot honey cauliflower! Good value for the price as well.

My favorite outdoor patio overlooking the beautiful Lake Michigan sunsets, in St Joseph! Stellar Food! Always done right. Reasonable drink prices. Appetizers, salads & sandwiches are generous shareable portions, making it a five-star economical choice! After years of feasting on the amazing chicken cobb salad , today I tried their new wedge salad. It was one of the most beautiful and delicious salads I have ever eaten! The house made Maple pork belly was to die for! Entrees are on the high end, but a perfect celebration or date place.

Greg makes a fantastic espresso martini. Seriously the best alcoholic drink I’ve had in my whole life. It’s a must try if in the area or visiting.

The food was absolutely delicious! My husband and I were floored! Looked good, smelled good, most importantly the taste was divine! We made sure to tell our waiter to please let the chef know how amazing it all was! It was our anniversary, I let them know in the notes upon reserving. They treated us to a card signed by the staff which was so sweet and totally unexpected. They also treated us to a wonderful flourless chocolate type of cake dessert on the house-picture posted on my review. The service was great, food was fast, fresh and delicious (you can tell the chef takes pride in what she does!) and the ambiance was romantic, and the pricing was honestly phenomenal for all you get!! Just a beautiful evening. Everybody truly made our night. This is a must eat if you are in the area!!! Thanks for everything! We will have to visit again next time in town.

Stayed here with the hubby overnight. Enjoyed such a nice clean Inn, the staff is pleasant. We had dinner and the open face steak sandwich and Martinis were so good. Highly recommend! We will be returning for sure! Thank you…

We went to this restaurant twice during our visit from London and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was incredible, the best we’ve had in Michigan. Courtney was our server both times and was an absolute delight, so friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. We’ll definitely be back again soon!

The Bistro remains one of our favorite restaurants in St Joe, Michigan. The views from the balcony are unmatched. Their biscuits and gravy are one of their best breakfast dishes. We also order the stuffed French toast every time we visit. Their staff made us feel welcomed and the service was impeccable. Thank you to the Bistro for your amazing food and hospitality. The Bistro is consistently delicious. We love the staff at this gem of a restaurant. From Gregory the best bartender in town to the consistent wait staff, this place is our go to for wonderful food and a mi my atmosphere.

I went here on a date night and was impressed. The food was absolutely amazing. Service was great and the staff was very knowledgeable on the menu. I got something our waiter suggested and I was so happy with it. I honestly think it was the best meal i have ever had at a restaurant. I would highly suggest going here.

can't say enough good things about this place! we were here twice, both for late night drinks/snacks, and both times were awesome! Bob made some unbelievably good martinis and and Greg had us cracking up the entire evening! for food: the shrimp is a MUST, their spiced almonds (on the tapas platter) are unreal, and the affogato is perfection. i would visit St. Joseph for this place alone!

Went for a date night with ol lady! Was a great place very classy! The food was amazing! Price is good for what you're getting. The customer service was the best out of any place I have ever gone.

Quality, excellent food in a nice environment. We stayed at the Boulevard for two nights and enjoyed breakfast each morning in the restaurant. Very clean restaurant, attentive service, and excellent food.

The EVENING STAFF AMAZING!!!! We love Greg and the other bar staff. Great breakfast. The evening steak salad was amazing along side asparagus side dish. Great Great Great all around place 👍

We went with a huge party and the staff took amazing care of us. Courtney was our server and she was so friendly and attentive. The bar staff was exceptional and treated us like regulars. Food was awesome. There were 14 very happy girlies after this visit. Highly recommend

The food was excellent! The tenderloin medallions were the perfect temp (medium for us), well seasoned & moist. Though the fries were pretty standard. Service on the other hand didn’t go so well. Water was brought to the table right away, but then a full 20 minutes went by and still nothing. We noticed that other tables were being serviced quite well by very social & friendly staff. I finally went to the hostess & asked for her to find our server. A minute after returning to my seat, the hostess, Daisha, came to our table & said our server was overloaded & that she’d serve us. From then on, everything went well and Daisha was great! The kitchen even prepared a special dessert for our anniversary & the staff all signed a card for us.

Okay. Fab service. French Vanilla martini. They have discontinued their $5 martini on Thursday. I got the steak salad. It was good. Next time I will ask for less onions. I thought they would have been diced. The layout of the salad was interesting, felt like a charcuterie board. I am a medium steak eater, however I'm finicky about the steak juice mixed with my greens. It was a good dinner I'll be back.

We all enjoyed the food. I had Shakshuka which I greatly enjoyed. The atmosphere was fine, not great, not bad. It was fine. The service wasnt bad it just wasnt great. It was more odd than anything. Had 3 different people helping us. One was fabulous, one came across as completely disinterested to the point of being checked out. The 3rd seemed to be an all around assistant. We wouldn't be against going back but it's not in an area we frequently find ourselves.

Long time customer of the Bistro and very disappointed with the Sunday buffet this past weekend. Very bad selection and especially for the cost of it. Did not even have pancakes or bacon and what was available was not very good. Will not come back here for the breakfast buffet but definitely be back for lunch and dinner. Santa was AWESOME!!!! Service was really good as well. Just disappointed with the buffet!!!!

Don't know how to begin with this...visited for brunch at 10:30 on 8/24/25. We ordered the prime rib burger with fries. We both got undeniably rare burgers when I ordered medium and sister wanted well done. I closed my eyes and ate mine, it was wonderful, she couldn't. So naturally I was finished before she got her burger. We complimented our waitress Hanah because she was great. I wondered if we could have a slice of cheesecake, and was told no. Desserts don't come out until 4 p.m. They had it, but wasn't allowed to serve it. My sister wanted to leave Hanah a cash tip and asked her if she could break a twenty. No-one employed there could break the twenty. We just asked someone randomly and they broke it. It was like being in the twilight zone. I gave the restaurant a 1, but food, service and atmosphere a 5! So weird.
