My husband and I recently went to Copper Rock without a reservation. They offered seats at the bar. We gladly took them and are so happy we did. Aaron & Joel took great care of us. Friendly and prompt with their service. We started with cocktails. My husband loved his Italian Manhattan. My Heat of the Night was just ok... should have done the Lemon Drop!!! Their bread service and spreads were spectacular. My husband had their Lobster Bisque and Crab Cakes (from appetizer menu) and was able to save enough room for their bread pudding which he said was the fluffiest and largest helping he has ever had. I had the delicious Prime Rib. My usual dessert is an Espresso Martini and it did not disappoint. Live piano music was very enjoyable and provided a nice backdrop. The 1 bite chocolate Beinet (sp?) was delicious.... don't turn it down!!!! Thank you for a wonderful birthday/Valentine's dinner. The gentlemen next to us was there by himself. That's nice to know for single travelers.

i just tried this place for the first time with my boyfriend. before coming i looked at the menu and wasn’t sure if i’d like anything, but boy was i wrong! i’m so glad i gave this place a chance! i ordered the french onion soup, the new york strip steak, and had a side of mashed potatoes. everything was delicious! i also enjoyed the assorted breads and spreads that came with it, i couldn’t stop eating it! all of the food came out fresh and hot and tasted amazing. the steak was huge, tender, and juicy. the mashed potatoes were super smooth and buttery. we also got complimentary dessert which was a chocolate lava cake type of dessert which tasted so good! the chocolate was very rich and delicious! the service was also amazing as well. our servers were george and layne, and they were both very attentive and helpful since it was our first time there. they did an amazing job at explaining everything to us and even told us about the different types of wines and how they taste different in the bottle vs. in a decanter, it was actually pretty interesting! layne was quite knowledgeable about wines and he was funny. both servers were great. the atmosphere is really nice and quiet and the bathrooms are super fancy as well. overall an amazing place and experience and i’m so glad i gave this place a try. we will be back!

Date night with the hubby. Service was excellent. I tried the seafood pasta that was good but I didn’t think it was over the top. I also tried the lobster bisque that was hands down my favorite and would definitely get again. I’m pretty picky when it comes to my lobster bisque and I would have to put this one as a top favorites. Hubby got a nice steak he said was okay good flavor cooked as requested. He wasn’t a big fan of the mushrooms. Mash potatoes were pretty good. We both got cocktails that were fabulous. Don’t get me wrong we would definitely try this restaurant out again but we would try something different next time. Also suggest getting reservation ahead of time to be able to get a seat. Atmosphere was very nice, clean and classy.

This was our 1st time here and definitely won't be the last . Food was amazing everything was cooked and tasted perfect! Cocktail were on point but the best part of the experience was our waiter Layne 100/100 on service thank you for making our date night .

Love it here! We always have great food and service! They have amazing prime rib and crab legs, but honestly everything I’ve ever tried here has been great! Even the bread/cracker bowl they bring with cheese and butter spreads is 👌🏻

July 8, 2023 Dana, made this restaurant visit appreciated. Dana's kindness and menu knowledge made us feel well cared for. Her service made us feel like her only customers for the evening. Tony, the manager almost took my little bit of tequila I had in my glass that evening 😆. He couldn’t see I had a smidge left lol. We joked about it and had some fun! His top-notch management skills were evident during our visit. Tony and his team have created a classy yet friendly dining experience, from the welcoming greeting at the door to the pristine restaurant and smooth service. Layne's bread service was exceptional. He chatted with us before dropping the bread, bringing a personal touch to our evening. The chef deserves praise also. Our meals were carefully prepared and delicious. As you can see in the pictures. These factors made our visit special. This restaurant excels in service, management, and cuisine. I recommend this restaurant for exceptional dining. Thanks from Alek & Suzi Pavlovich

Before I go into too much detail about my experience at Copper Rock Steakhouse South Bend, I just want this to be known. I did not come here for a special occasion. Myself and my best friend came here on a whim, just to see what it was like. Personally I dragged my feet a little bit coming to this specific casino because the last time I was here before the Covid-19 epidemic, I made the unfortunate decision to try their weekday buffet which was free as a reward for me, and too be honest, not only was it easily the worst buffet I ever had, but it was among the worst food I ever had period and that rubbed me the wrong way considering how much money that this casino brings in on a daily basis. I came into this fine-dining restaurant with one question in my mind. "Does this casino care about their food quality at all?" I stood corrected, Copper Rock was actually very good! Right away myself and my friend were enthralled by the elegant yet modern-minimalist decor. It helped provide with a very relaxing environment. The service was a highlight during the visit, I didn't get the name of the waitress, or I honestly don't remember but she was very friendly with the both of us and even made recommendations to us. Very professional. The breads they gave us were all unique in their own ways, a little rustic but not too over complicated. Might I add here I personally thought the Asiago garlic spread that was provided was one of the highlights culinary wise. Then came the Lobster Bisque. I'm not going to deny myself when saying that lobster bisque is one of my favorite foods, period. Considering my initial hesitation because of my fear of their food quality I was in doubt about how amazing this soup was going to be. Smooth, a little heat in the back, some sweetness, it had everything I would ever want in that soup and more. Definitely worth the 14$ and a return trip alone. Now did anything hold back the experience? Yes. While my best friend thoroughly enjoyed his filet migion, i was left somewhat dissatisfied with my 55 day bone in ribeye. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad although I had one bite that was overcooked and tasted like unseasoned beef, the rest of it I thought was cook in comparison to other steaks I have had in the past. My issue is was it worth 79$? I don't think so. Overall this was a great form of redemption on the part of Four Winds South Bend to get me interested in making the hour long journey to come back. Perhaps on my next trip I won't go for the most expensive steak, but rather the true stars, the starter dishes. Perhaps I will branch further and find more I would love.

I don’t review local places enough. We came here for our anniversary this year. Service and atmosphere were both excellent and our dinners and drinks were amazing. We will definitely be back.

If you never had a real Japanese Wagyu steak, if you have never spent $130 on a steak, you should. And you should do it here. I've never in my life tasted a steak that when you bite into it it literally turns into juices. Absolute perfection. The best steak I've had in my 43 years. Anywhere. It is definitely not the wannabe wagyu steak that is in most restaurants. It was worth every penny

Service and food was outstanding!!! Even the bread basket and variety of butters / cheeses were amazing. The sides of broccoli and baked potato enhanced the filet and lobster tail. Only question I have is... why have I waited so long to visit this place?!?!?! I’ll be back soon.

Excellent service and food for two years straight. Worth the extra money to know you will be satisfied no matter what you eat or drink.

This is always a great place to get great steak or seafood. The lobster bisque soup is very good. The piano player in the bar area was playing good music and was very kind. Overall great experience!

I’m a tough critic first time here. I came in, the bread was amazing. These wealthy ladies next to me complained about everything and the bartender Joel took care of them with extreme professionalism. He had back up support to take my order. Great food great service and experience.

Bread service with cocktails was great. Everything was elegant and prepared perfectly! Joel was our server and he was very good. It's fun to have a wonderful dinner out!

Amazing experience. We went to celebrate our anniversary - 7 years (the gift is 'copper' so this fit perfectly). I forgot on the day of our anniversary, I had a hockey game - 2 actually - and played. In any event, the food was amazing and the staff equally so. Our waitress was knowledgeable and honest with her assessment of what she felt we would like. We like to sample so she ordered: - wedge salad - Lobster bisque - Crab Cakes I had: - French Onion Soup - Baked Potato - Prime Rib Dinner was delicious and filling. For a special occasion or celebration definitely consider Copper Rock.

Absolutely 💯% the best experience me and my fiance had last night. Everyone was so pleasant. The food was out of this world. Will definitely be returning in the near future.

Our food and drinks were delicious! Bradley and Tony were friendly and informative. Their service was outstanding. Our family was looking for a different dinner experience this Christmas. We wanted to dine out because my husband died a few months ago. We have decided Copper Rock will be our new Christmas dinner destination. Thank you for bringing joy to our family tonight. Merry Christmas!

I had dinner at Copper Rock in South Bend tonight. I had the porterhouse. It was absolutely perfect. But the service was even better. My server Abby was great. She was meticulous to detail. She recommended the special, and It was exactly what I wanted. One of the best dinning experiences I have had in a very long time. We will definitely be back soon. Finding good service like that is rare.

This is probably one of the most classy and elegant restaurants I've ever been to. My husband and I came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and our dining experience did not disappoint! We came on a Thursday evening and I had the $55 special which was such a great deal! I chose the lobster bisque soup, a filet mignon with mashed potatoes and asparagus and the creme brulee for dessert. Everything was cooked so perfectly and we left completely full and satisfied! I loved the cozy and quiet atmosphere and I felt so relaxed while we were dining. We will definitely be returning because we had such an unforgettable experience!

Open kitchen is so loud, so if they seat you near there, expect to work to hear. Also service was a bit slow, maybe short staffed, but we had some delays for refilling water or placing orders. Also there were only 3 drink menus so we had to wait to view that as well. All that being said our waitress was very nice and the food was super delicious.

Layne is the absolute best server. We go to the Copper Rock for any special occasion, we request Layne because his service is exceptional. The food is amazing the atmosphere is next level.

We came to town to visit family and decided for a nice dinner for date night. We went to the steakhouse at Fourwinds casino and sat in the private dining room. We had the special for Monday night and the food was delicious. The drinks we had were strong. And Rumi our servicer was incredible. She was smiling and laughing the whole time. We couldn’t have asked for a better night. We will definitely be back.

D
Danaca Paluzzi

We've celebrated a few anniversaries and birthdays there. Food has been delicious and cooked perfectly! Sabrina made our parents feel extra special with the anniversary cards, and Dana was absolutely amazing. She was able to handle our requests with ease and made us feel at home. She explained everything we asked and was informative. Drinks never went empty, and I never had to ask for an extra thing! Clark even checked with us before our reservation and was delightful, too!

My husband and I look forward to dining at Copper Rock for our anniversary. We consistently enjoy well prepared offerings and top notch service in a pleasant atmosphere at the Copper Rock. My husband had the ribeye last night, a little extra aged, it was amazing. I always get the surf and turf, always amazing. Layne was our server, he was friendly and knowledgeable, our service was unbeatable.

My favorite steak house. Alison is so amazing, she’s very knowledgeable from drinks to the menu. She always makes my visits welcoming. The truffle fries the best I’ve ever had. That alone brings me in.

This is my favorite restaurant. We always come here for date night and any special occasion. We typically get the prime rib and order it blackened 🤤My most recent visit was on Friday January 3, 2025 and I have to say whatever they are paying the chef who was working this night, it is not enough. That man knows what he is doing. Absolutely fabulous. We were happy to see our server for the evening was Rumi. She is always so sweet, attentive, and kind.

Unbelievably good steaks and sides. The lobster bisque was one of the best I ever had. This place was the highlight of the trip

This was a wonderful fine dining experience. Layne was our server and had great recommendations on drinks and food. He was also very entertaining throughout dinner. We enjoyed our service, food, and experience with Layne. The surf and turf was beyond delicious, and the chocolate old fashion was something I will be thinking about for months to come. Also, we loved that we did not hear any noise from the casino. Truly a 10/10 dining experience.

This is a fantastic venue inside Four Winds Casino. Once you're inside the restaurant, you don't even know that you're at a casino (no noise pollution at all). There is another restaurant on site as well, themed differently but also quite good. The walls are lined with wonderful pictures of the Pokagon Band People, and also a few older photos from South Bend. It provides a nice reminder of the continuity of the Native people in the region, as well as of the new immigrants (the included photo in this review shows Belgian and Italian marchers in a parade roughly a century ago). I've had excellent food here on other visits, but most recently (with a group of 8), the steaks came out cold. Possibly because there was a timing error between our courses, the service was outstanding. That said, the service was exceptional. The appetizers (a seafood tower and a bacon appetizer) were fantastic and plentiful! The salads were excellent, and the drinks were spot-on. It's easy to believe that on most visits, this is South Bend's very best restaurant. While this particular visit was not exactly what I hoped for, this is a fantastic option in our region.

We went to Copper Rock to celebrate my birthday with my wife and friends. The shrimp was tasty, Barata salad was phenomenal, and the steak was delicious. One of the reasons we went was because they had a live piano player which added to the ambience of the evening. We enjoyed the evening and glad we went.

Food was great, service was great, live music was great. Sitting on the bar side, everyone was singing along with the live music and were told to stop.

The 55 day dry aged ribeye might be the best steak in South Bend. In fact, it is the best steak I have personally had, and I've tried pretty much every steakhouse in town.

S
Seth Burke

Sides are shareable but found them to be lacking in the seasoning. Steaks were amazing though. We had filet and Japanese Wagyu. Creme Brulee was rich and delicious. Drinks were good too. Will definitely come back.

The service and wait staff were great and friendly. The oysters Rockefeller and bone marrow were good along with the cocktail selection. We also got the specialty meal on Sunday night, unfortunately our fillet mignons and baked potato’s were cold, so much so that the butter didn’t melt and we took them as leftovers to heat up at home. The asparagus on our plates were hot though. The onion soup we highly recommend as well as their crème brûlée dessert. It was date night and it aligned with our cheat day lol. Hopefully the steaks are hot the next time we go.

I will tell you I had probably one of the best steaks I have had at a casino, but the waitress that waited on me was really really not about checking on me or anything. All she cared about was the group of guys down the bar like she was really condensing I felt more like a nusciance rather than a customer it was crazy. The guys were literally making fun of me acting like I was taking their pictures bc my phone flashes they were really rude too and the waitress just laughed with them. I mean really ruined the entire experience. I would go back if she weren’t working.

Service was pretty good & quicker than alot of other people had posted, recently. Husband and I both ordered the "special" of the evening, a truffle crusted ribeye with broccolini. As I didn't want the crust, if I would have just ordered the ribey with a side, it would have been $15 less as it was no longer the "special". Also we both ordered out steaks med-rare but my husband's was clearly Rare....mine was perfect. We didn't say anything, so that's on us, but it was very obvious, the temperature difference. Somebody wasn't checking quality before sending it out & for $95.00 a plate, that's not cool.

Visited here recently for the first time after hearing nothing but good things so we had to try it out. They atmosphere was really nice and the staff that we encountered were amazing! Our Waiters name was Layne, he was great, probably the best service we have had in a very long time! The food took over a hour to come out which sucked (but Layne kept us informed which was very nice!) When it came out both steaks were pretty dry and didn't have much flavor 😕 but TG for A1 sauce lol. So for the price I was really disappointed. We probably won't return due to our experience with the food.

Our busser was amazing! Totally attentive and very friendly. We appreciated his service. Food was just okay. Baked potatoes not worth it. Overall, we scored this as a 3.

J
JIM MAYFIELD

Not the worst dining experience I have had. But, there was plenty of room for improvements. The server seemed confused. We had a party of 14. In the private room. Everyone ordered prior to arrival. It should have been a smoother setting. All the food was great except the steak. It was unanimous that the steaks were poorly prepared. For the price I had very high expectations. They have since been lowered. An unfortunate experience.

This could easily be a five star rating from our visit on 2/3/25. The good: Atmosphere is beautiful, our waitress (Sumi) was wonderful, drinks were fantastic, love the various breads and spreads offered, appetizers were good, shrimp/lobster pasta was delicious, and the beignets at the end were a pleasant surprise! However, we made a reservation over a week in advance since it was our anniversary. It was a Monday so we knew it would be slow anyway. I give the host my name and am greeted with a “Nope” in regard to my reservation. Meanwhile, there are about 40 tables available anyway. I give him a different name it might be under and just get another “nope” so I show him my phone that shows the confirmed reservation at this location. He doesn’t really say anything then takes us back and welcomes us. We had never been here, so immediately didn’t feel welcomed at all. Secondly, I ordered a filet for $60 and requested no more than medium, emphasizing a pink center, and it came out burnt to a crisp on the outside and terribly dry in the middle. Obviously cooked at way too high of heat, so that was disappointing. We spent a lot of money here, so we just wish we had a better experience. We hope to try again in the future.

D
Diane Skubal

Service was phenomenal! Food was just ok…except the lobster bisque. It was the best I have ever tasted. We go to Four winds for our anniversary every year and this is the first time we were able to go and we were very excited. But it was definitely not worth the money.

R

I wanted to share my opinion on the place. I ate here one night out of the week I stayed in the hotel. I got the 26oz bone in ribeye 45 day dry aged. This thing was not that great for 95$! In context I raise my own beef and expect a 95$ steak to be great. I ordered med rare and all but the very center was rare rest was over done zero flavor. Now the lobster Mac and cheese was absolutely perfect and taste great. If you coming here for dinner I would go and check out the other restaurant in the casino. I had dinner there 3 days and ever meal was absolutely perfect I would recommend the wagu surf and turf. Beside the bad steak very nice place to stay.

J
Jordan Ray

The service was exactly what you would expect from a higher end steakhouse, our waitress was training a new hire and they both did great. My wife's food and the table bread were delicious, the problem rested with my own food. I was very disappointed. I ordered the filet mignon and it was just not what I expected from a higher end steak. It was very tough and chewy and didn't taste like a filet at all, my wife got the same cut and size and hers was amazing

My girl and I have been to Copper Rock before and we had a good time. We often eat out and do not go to the Casino to gamble. We decided to go over to the Copper Rock and have dinner as he crave great food and pleasant surroundings. With Tip I believe we spent about $400.00 We had an appetizer, drinks and dinner. We also had the Cheesecake to go ;-) The service was great, no issues there. The problem we had was cold food. The steaks we had were just fine. But the Lobster Mashed Potatoes were cold. The Lobster and Filet we had come to the table with a cold lobster tail. I am not sure about anyone else. But if you are charged premium prices for food, it better be hot. We returned the Potatoes and they took that off the bill. The lobster we had that was cold we warmed up in butter. Not ideal.... We often do not make a fuss at a table, but I will say this is a huge no no. Cold food is the worst. For a higher end restaurant to fail to serve hot food is a recipe for empty tables.

L

The vibe was great. It took 1.5hr for the food to come out. The couple I came in with received their food 20 mins before me & by the time I received mine the couple was gone. Then my food came out cold. No butter on my potatoes, the waiter didn’t ask if I wanted steak sauce or seasoning. This was a very bad experience & it ruined vibe of the night. They’re were four waiters in the same area & they all seemed busy & none consistent. I will never come here again.

L
Laurie Noon

Worst oystes ever experienced. Could not even pulled them out of their shells. Chewy, dry and very weird.

E

Three of us who had the long bone steak felt nauseous afterward, though the food had a good taste. It took us about 1.5 hours to get our main course. Our waiter interrupted our prayer before our meal.

E
Elizabeth J. Muellner

Avoid this restaurant! The food was disgraceful. The service was slower than I’ve EVER experienced (2 1/2 hours total— we sat there for 45 minutes b before we were even offered a beverage and then, I had to ask for a drink menu) Not only was the quality of the food POOR, but the orders were not even close to accurate. And the bill for the two of us was over $200 (one order of grouper, one order of salmon). We will NEVER go back and we will warn others away.

C
Crysta Davis

Hostess Sabrina 1/11/26! laughed in my face when she said it’s 10 minutes not telling us to hang tight it was just for a couple of bar seats! Two white men came in after us and was seated within 10 minutes! She never said what is your name hang out here’ Then we came right back and the 2 guys were sat around the bar area, I guess because we were just getting appetizers and not a full meal and the wrong skin color!!! I asked for a manager and he cams out very ancient and unkept hair everywhere pet hair on his suit and just and understatement of wolf man Jack!! Discrimination is an understatement if we not ordering a $160 tasteless wagyu steak 🥩 then not important!! Worst experience ever!
