My husband and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary at Idol Wolf. Our first time visiting this establishment on a recommendation from an office co-worker. We arrived early to visit the museum and the excellent architectural work. Our table was ready before our reservation and our server, Lee, was extremely attentive and helpful throughout the evening with recommendations for drinks and food. Thank you for making this a very memorable experience for the both of us.

This place was so beautifully decorated in vintage old castle style. Perfect place for a date night! All dishes were well decorated and tasted amazing. All dishes that we had were great. I love the chorizo roasted hen of the woods the most. They also gave cotton candy at the end which was a cute surprise! The service was excellent. We had a great time there. Highly recommended!!

It was delish but very expensive. For a tiny manhattan, it was $22. But great food, service and atmosphere

Well that was ridiculously good and I'll be back. The cocktail menu was insane. I had the chorizo fat washed marg and the hen of the woods and polenta may be my new favorite food. The shrimp was average, but I have nothing bad to say. The octopus and potatoes was also really quite nice. I'm really difficult to please, so that says a lot. Also the service really was top notch. Ryan was my server, and he knocked it out of the park.

Normally hotel’s own restaurants are nothing to shout about. I.e. same mediocre menu items. But this one is purely Spanish (Europe)theme which is why we tried it. The sangrias were very tasty and the food were so well presented and taste so authentic! Tried different tapas (the Serrano hame with home made chips, Chorizo spice butter with mushroom were Devine) as well Seafood paella . For the price , the squid should be a little bigger, less on the salt but took us back to Barcelona paella! Our main server was very good but one individual (young girl) delivery just dump the food on the table. But overall will return for special occasion!

Amazing food & drinks. We went for my husbands birthday and couldn’t have asked for a better meal. The service was impeccable. We even ordered non-alcoholic cocktails and they brought us out champagne for the birthday but non-alcoholic! So sweet & attentive. The paella & almond cake were the highlights of the meal!

Idol Wolf blends an eclectic combination of delicious Spanish inspired food, brilliant fine art, and a chic, welcoming ambiance. We enjoyed each dish ordered for dinner and the friendly service. Each drink was beautifully presented and tasted well balanced. Our favorites were the corn gazpacho and Serrano ham, but the burger also hit the spot! First this hotel/restaurant is gorgeous. One of the most esthetic hotels/restaurants in St. Louis. Food was very good and the tapas style are large portions. My one desire with fine dining is the food is hot (temperature wise) and Idol Wolf doesn't disappoint. Food was good quality and is spanish inspired. Drinks are strong and are well made. We had a glass of champagne, and a couple cocktails which are priced well for the quality of alcohol. I wpuld recommend!

Lovely experience at Idol Wolf during my stay at 21C Museum Hotel. Had a variety of dishes but my favorite was the “chorizo” roasted hen of the woods. It was something new and I was pleasantly surprised once I tasted it! If you want to try something new, I would recommend that dish. One thing to note for the market steak is that the sauce is sweet (tasted like a deeply caramelized onion sauce). The blueberry mule was a citrusy, sweet choice for a non-alcoholic drink. For dessert, I would 100% recommend the Tarta de Santiago, which is an almond cake served with coffee ice cream on the side. Our server, Lucy, was also extremely welcoming and lovely!

Meet friends here for dinner and the entire vibe was great. We shared several appetizers and entrees including a great paella and even a tasty shrimp dish. It was all very good and I’ll definitely go back.

This place is so dreamy and interactive! The 24 hour museum changes frequently throughout the year, the design of the hotel is fun and eclectic and the food is top tier. If you go…order the chicken…trust me!

It’s new places like this that help elevate St. Louis. An absolutely delicious dinner at Idol Wolf. Outstanding job for a new restaurant. The vibes are immaculate, and the food is incredible. The flavors combos are executed perfectly! Our server, Miranda, was awesome! She had the best recommendations! I can’t even pick a favorite dish because they were all so unique. I came in for Brunch right after a very hard workout. Hadbrhe Breakfast Crossaunt, scrambled egg and bacon with a side order of fries. After my meal, took a walk around the art museum. 1st time here and I had a pretty nice time. Staff was professional. Shout out to Diamond! Extremely kind and helpful! I definitely will be back. It was a Sunday so parking was on the street. Meters are free. I'm always hesitant in coming downtown due to safety concerns. However, I felt safe that day.

After visiting the 21c hotel for a wedding, it was nice to visit here for dinner at Idol Wolf. They’re featuring a Spanish inspired menu. The cocktails were delicious. The Viva Verde had so many components that made each sip an enriching experience while the Kalimotxo was an easy sipper. We ended the night with a bottle of red, Ever Seeking (DOC), and that had an easy lighter finish. For eating, we ordered the tuna on toast and a slice of the chocolate cheesecake. Both were delicious! Again, I think Idol Wolf is nailing the combos of many components and blending them well. It is such a vibe from the first step in, to the bar, through the exhibits, and to the dining. Definitely will go again!

We visited on a Sunday evening. Although we had reservations, there were plenty of seats available. The server was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was cool and chic. I ordered the Gambas al ajillo, and it was delicious. Others ordered the steak, roasted chicken, cauliflower, olives, etc. I didn't hear any complaints. Check it out.

My BFF and I dined at the new Idol Wolf last night and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in my life! 😁🥰😘 Not only is the hotel property jaw-dropping beautiful, our entire dining experience was impeccable. From the hostess who greeted us with kindness and humor, to our server who knew his menu and made great recommendations, and the food (we practically ordered the entire menu) was outstanding! Not a single dish disappointed with the absolute must order items being the Hen of the Wood Mushrooms (how Chef Matthew gets these to taste so freaking amazing is beyond my comprehension) and the Beef Cheek Empanadas, hands down two of the most amazing things I’ve ever had the pleasure of shoving into my mouth. And obviously the paella is an absolute must, was cooked perfectly with amazing flavor and my favorite crispy rice on the bottom! I’m soooooo happy they’ve opened in St Louis and plan to give them even more of my money because it’s the type of dining experience that everyone should have at least once, or in my case, as often as I can!! 🥰

Wandered in here for dinner back in May, and I do not regret it! Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were able to eat in the bar/lounge. The bar staff did a fantastic job. The food and drinks were delicious. I loved the atmosphere. I will be returning on my next St. Louis trip.

We had the absolute pleasure of enjoying the private room for a family get-together. Superb food, outstanding service, and a fun, inviting atmosphere. The various art pieces are chosen with excitement and care, showing a love for making people stop and appreciate what's around them. Idol Wolf's Happy Hour is a Day Drinkers dream. The Happy Hour is daily, that means 7 days a week and is only 3-5 PM. Which is plenty of time to enjoy yourself in a art deco bar. I'm a vodka man, so $5 vodka cocktails are right up my alley. Then to cut the booze, they offer a $10 Cheeseburger that is served with fries. The Smoked Cheddar, Lager Braised Red Onion and Tomato Jam, makes the burger a steal at $10. It is worth so much more. The bartender was a master of this craft. He made one variation of a Dirty Martini, that thrilled me and my friend. Bonuses that I like, they've got outlets and hooks under the bar. Makes it easy for charging and hanging a messenger bag or backpack. If you are a day drinker, you gotta check Idol Wolf out. The crowd is super friendly and like most hotel bars, everyone talks to everyone.

I would come to this bar 1000x over if I could be served by Sunday every single time. By far one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a bar, and I watched her attend to each person with the same attentiveness and personalized experience. The drinks were 20/10 and the service was even better. She was also moving a million miles a minute making sure everyone was attended to quickly. We watched 5+ groups came in that recognized her from the night before and were so excited she was working again (not including us). LOVE SUNDAY!!!!!!

Idol Wolf is an absolute must experience in the St Louis food scene. If you are into craft cocktails, flavor with layers and depth, accompanied by atmosphere and outstanding service, you need to book your reservation. We arrived early and checked in for our reservation and then grabbed a seat in the beautiful bar area. The mixologist are top of the game and in no time we had amazing drinks in front of us. When called for our reservation we found the dining area to be warm, cozy, and conversation was easy and not loud. We ordered the lamb sirloin, Crispy Brussels, SOBRASADA AGNOLOTTI PASTA, and beef tapas plate for the main course. Food arrived quickly and the lamb was cooked perfectly and quit possibly the best I have ever tasted. The sobrasada agnolotti is a dish that will live in my dreams for a long time. The depth of flavor and presentation was second to none. Desert was a smores inspired dish with a wonderful tosted Meringue over sweet bits of chocolate and ice cream. We also ordered the cheese cake which was amazing and reminded me of new York. Chef Bonnie is doing amazing things and I look forward to visiting again. Mick was our server and was exceptional at answering questions, keeping the meal flowing and bringing us the best espresso martini I've had in st louis. I tip my hat to these folks. #STLFOODIE

What an amazing experience!!!! The vibes the cocktails especially the purple reign was such a creative twist. And our server “Sunday” was absolutely fabulous! So warm and charismatic and the lady knows her stuff! I would come back just to vibe with her energy again and see what kind of concoction she comes up with next! Very cool vibe. Arrived and saw an elegant photoshoot on the stairs. Quickly ushered to nice table with great ambiance. BlackBerry sage gin and tonic and chorizo margarita were both delicious. Plant based appetizers were delicious. Paella was great although I'm not a connoisseur. After dinner wandered the interesting attached modern art galleries. Would definitely recommend this as an interesting hotel to stay at and a great destination for date night food and drinks. It's downtown St Louis.

I enjoyed my first visit here. Our server was nice and friendly, he welcomed us with a smile and was very informative about the menu options. Before eating I went to the restroom. The color scheme and fixtures in there were lovely! I especially liked all the mirrors. Very nice and clean!!!! The atmosphere was beautiful and it was a bonus to visit the museum located upstairs after dinner. Parking is somewhat annoying but it wasn’t really an issue for me. And lastly, I noticed I was overcharged the wrong amount but it was only by about $2…not a big deal though. I look forward to going back soon.

Love the vibe of this place! Came for a friend’s birthday and we all enjoyed the experience. Serving sizes are pretty small though, we had to order another plate after putting our first order in after realizing this. It was fun to walk around and look at the art afterwards. I would highly recommend giving this place a try. And great photo opps too!

While the credits provided by the American Express program were probably only good enough for one meal here, most of the dishes that my partner and I had were tasty and it was an enjoyable experience overall. We tried to keep our options limited so we could keep our spending reasonable, but I can already say that I would recommend people visiting St. Louis or even staying at the hotel check this establishment out. In terms of the tapas, the patatas bravas had some very tasty potatoes! The aioli complemented the existing flavor very well, and the potatoes themselves were fried on point. They also had very nice crunch and texturally maintained a good balance between crunchiness and softness. The "chorizo" roasted hen of the woods dish had a masa cake that resembled polenta in terms of both flavor and texture, and the smoked aioli offered a nice addition. The mushroom on the top was way too salty and oily, though, so I really had to eat it with the masa cake to make it work. Under "from the sea" category, the tuna on toast offered a juxtaposition of various flavors because of the ingredients from tuna to tallow aioli to the herbs. The toast itself also tasted really good, so whatever I placed together with the toast simply offered an amazing taste. I enjoyed it thoroughly. As for the squid ink pasta, the calamari was a bit chewy, and the pasta was definitely overcooked beyond al dente, on top of the fact that every bit of pasta was a small piece of pasta noodle that couldn't even stay on my fork. I think using spaghetti or bucatini in the future may be a better idea so customers can use their forks to roll the pasta noodles. The tomato sauce had a strong taste, which wasn't a bad thing. It was a very specific kind of tomato sauce and I couldn't quite tell what was included. Once again, for those visiting St. Louis and / or staying at the 21c Museum Hotel, I would recommend them giving this establishment a try, and maybe even choose different dishes across several tries so that there would be a comprehensive experience all around.

Idol Wolf is has a wonderful array of tapas and other delicious appetizers. The new vanilla basque cheesecake is also scrumptious. However, the main dish we had was vastly overpriced and sadly forgettable. This place has some great flavors but for the most part you will be paying for a slightly more pricy experience than what it should be. Granted, valet parking is included and the hotel has a beautiful museum and aesthetic.

Very expensive but good menu and tasty food. We ordered cheese board which could have had more crackers and/or bread compared to the cheeses provide. The chicken half was very well done and tasty along with the drinks.

We went to Idol Wolf about a month ago on a Saturday at 5:30. We knew it was a risk to go without a reservation, yet we were pleased to know that the front room is open for walk-ins only. The downside about the front room is that it’s very loud. This is due to the high ceilings and decor wall that separates the front room from the main dining room. Overall the athletic is really lovely but the noise level really took away from the atmosphere. The table we sat at had one side as a booth and the other as a chair. Neither were particularly comfortable after the long wait for our meal. The cocktails were imaginative and super tasty. I got the Oh, Behave cocktail- TWICE. Definitely recommend! The bar was super backed up, even though when we arrived the whole restaurant (front and main room combined) was barely 1/6 full. To eat we decided on the Fried Cauliflower, “Chorizo” Roasted Hen of the Woods, Beef Tartar, and the Seafood Paella. All portions were a tad small for the price but the taste was spot on. The Fried Cauliflower was perfectly flash fried and still kept its integrity (crunch) while feeling indulgent. The mushroom dish could be doubled in size and served with greens to be an absolutely remarkable entree (dreaming here). The “chorizo” spice was such a perfect contrast to the rich, crispy, and creamy masa cake. The hen of the woods mushroom was cooked to perfection. To be honest, I dreamed about this dish for many weeks after our visit. My partner found the thickness of the grilled toast under the tartar to be a bit distracting and hard to eat. The seafood paella was absolutely delicious! The seafood was cooked to perfection and although the dish needed a touch of salt (which was provided as the meal was delivered) it was really delicious. We both felt the price was a bit extreme though. We ended the meal with churros and those were the only thing we wouldn’t order again. They were not cooked long enough and the batter was not authentic (based on the taste). There was also barely any cinnamon sugar on the outside. Overall, I feel prices should be lowered by about $2 on each item but that and the slow service aren’t enough to keep us from coming back. We will be back! If a few things change, I could see us coming twice a month rather than once every few months (we live 8 min away). I recommend making reservations and enjoying a night in the lovely remodeled 21c. Hotel (previously a YMCA).

The place is beautiful! The hotel's design is perfect and it has the most beautiful staircase in St Louis. The restaurant has good drinks, and I simply loved the variety of Spanish tapas. My favorite was the jamon serrano croqueta. The desserts are divine too! We'll be back to try the paella!

Idol wolf simplified : Good not great. Located in a very cool modern art hotel (21c), Idol wolf has a unique atmosphere. Straight forward Spanish style tapas - prices were what you’d expect for a new restaurant but in terms of flavor and creativity nothing blew us away. Everything was good but nothing really made idol wolf stand out where I’d rush back. Location is very awkward downtown - nothing around it to do / didn’t feel super safe but once inside the hotel it was fine. We ordered a sangria (large and very good - not too sweet) and old fashioned (very straightforward). We waited a long time for drinks and our dishes despite it not being very busy at all. The tomato bread appetizer was delicious (their take on bruchetta) as well as the Spanish potatoes. We also got the fish croquettes (crispy but overall salty and one note), chorizo mushrooms (not very flavorful), and empanadas (good but ultimately just tasted like pie dough). Churros were delicious for dessert. We would have ordered another drink but no one came back to check on us and we had finished our food, so they unfortunately don’t have their timing worked out very well. Overall a good date night and we enjoyed seeing the hotel, but we wouldn’t rush back for the food.

I stay at the hotel for work sometimes. This was my first experience at the restaurant. I sat at the bar around 8:40 alone. I was not exactly greeted when I sat, but was given a glass of water with no verbal hello. I then waited for sometime to ask for a menu. Then I had to interrupt the bartender talking to an ex employee to ask if I could order. I also had a free sample card from the hotel. Im sober and asked if their was a substitute and he did oblige with a NA gin which I thought was very considerate. I ordered an NA cocktail too. BUT the bartender asked me at least THREE times if I wanted an alcoholic beverage when I had already stated I was SOBER and ordered a NA beverage. Thank god Im not a recovering alcoholic or I may have fallen off the wagon, very poor judgement used by the bartender and would encourage better training…. Then once I had interrupted him to ask to order, I got the half chicken and the tuna. Everything had beautiful presentation and smells! Unfortunately, the chicken was cooked at very high heat so had extremely tough crunchy skin, parts too tough to eat. Then when I got closer to the bone it was not totally cooked through…. Not like a little pink…. Like kinda bloody. It was so smoky it was kinda gross, and the topping used all over it was so strong I couldn’t taste chicken, it was just smoke and capers. The tuna was excellent, with the most amazing crunchy buttery bread it was served on. But the bread was so thick and crunchy it hurt your mouth to try and bite it, but not really a good option for a knife… so maybe thinner bread or cut into bites and top each bite with the tuna. I did have to wait for quite awhile on my food also. Then I had to interrupt the bartender again to get a box and then finally thrust my card towards him as I was not getting a check. Probably going to go elsewhere when I stay at 21c from now on.

Came to see the art exhibit for date night and decided to stop in. The ambiance is warm and inviting and you get enjoy glimpses of the vast art displayed. We ordered the Chicken Caesar and Hen of the Woods for starters which were both pleasant dishes. I didn’t particularly care for how the butter over powers the masa cake and makes it soggy. Our entrees took quite a while to come out to the point we almost decided to leave and just pay for what we had already eaten. The manager did come out and explain the delay and gave us a desert to make up for it however it doesn’t compensate for the sub par service by our waiter. He was less than attentive and seemed more preoccupied with the dinners in the back room. We had to flag him down several times to get refills. When we asked on the status of our food brushed us off and said it’s coming as he scurried off through the back door. Honestly the wait staff just ruined what would have otherwise been a great dinning experience now I just feel like I paid $150 to be ignored.

Idol Wolf would be a solid if unremarkable 4 stars if our server wasn’t visibly inebriated. She was friendly, but repeatedly forgot our orders, didn’t know the menu at all, and just seemed “out of it” which made for a sometimes uneasy dining experience. I hope she’s doing okay, but I have no idea how the restaurant didn’t take notice or do something about it and that points to a pretty extreme management problem. The food is fine, but doesn’t live up to the atmosphere or prices. Octopus and Kale Salad were highlights, but if these are the dishes stealing the show at a Spanish tapas restaurant, something has gone wrong. Generally speaking the dishes didn’t feel very authentic and weren’t always prepared in a way that was tapas-friendly (not easy to share). At the same time, nothing was bad - just not particularly noteworthy or flavorful. Yes, the space is beautiful. Very well designed, good lighting, great for a date night. The atmosphere definitely saves Idol Wolf - if they can whip up a few more memorable dishes and place a greater emphasis on hospitality, there is potential here.

We came for their New Years Day brunch which I know they are better known for with their dinner but the brunch wasn’t the best. The others at my table enjoyed their meals throughly but I got the French toast and 3 slices of bacon that to be honest, just seemed very basic. The French toast wasn’t the greatest (tasted slightly soggy) and the bacon seemed very basic as well.

The restaurant is really nice. Was obsessed with the entire vibe. Interior designer did an amazing job! Was caught off guard when the bathroom was a coed bathroom, granted the stalls are big but still wasn’t a fan of that. The food was meh. For me to complain about food is actually a big deal bc I will eat anything and I’m not picky at all. My husband got the carved strip steak with mashed potatoes and carrots. Texture of mashed potatoes was not good at all. Slimy and gross. Flavor was mid. He said the strip steak was okay but definitely not worth $52. I got the Gambas Al Ajillo and it was trash. The shrimp tasted like cheap boiled shrimp with zero flavor. The gumbo tasted like watered down tomato juice with chili seasoning to add some heat. The best part of my meal was the 2 pieces of bread that came with it and I gave one of them to my husband to eat. I also ordered the Crispy Brussels and they were okay. That was the only thing I somewhat enjoyed aside from bread. I drove 4 hrs to meet husband while he’s out of town working so we could have a date night and this place was major disappointment.
