Came here ALONE and had a very good experience. Had the Power lunch, Cesar salad and Salmon (with habas, I'm peruvian so this was a good surprise), both were delicious (truly delicious). The waiter and bus boy were awesome, very kind, always making sure I was ok. The manager walked by twice and was very funny and cool. The wine was also served on the beat temp ever and they did NOT push me into a 2nd glass (which I appreciate). T he only con was the reception, the lady was a little unwelcoming ( I would hate to think that it was because of my South American look) but everything else made up for it. Will go back with hubby and friends , Def recommend.
Staff was very nice, food was very good and blåhaj enjoyed it too ^_^ the view was very nice
If I could give 10 stars I would! Everything from the bread, to the drinks, to my Wellington. Absolutely delicious and fresh. Tuna tartar was also amazing. Came when it was busy and our server was still attentive. Highly recommend reservations, nice attire, maybe walking around the boardwalk afterwards. My only other tip would be with the crab cake appetizer only comes with one.
We hosted my sister’s bridal shower at Prime and it was perfect. David is excellent to work with and the entire staff was extremely helpful. The food is also amazing and everyone left with positive things to say. :)
Had a really positive experience at Prime Stamford for my 30th birthday brunch with my girlfriends’ Our entire table’s food was phenomenal - probably the best ricotta pancakes I’ve ever had. The portions were all very fair for the prices and so were the drinks. Our server was extremely attentive and friendly and even got some nice photos of us. The only downsides to our visit were the live music was a bit loud and it was hard to hear eachother talk…I had to ask our server to repeat himself a few times. And seating/service was a little slow. Nothing that would stop me from coming back. They even comped a dessert for my special day and gave me a gift card. I can’t wait to return!
Excellent food and service. Birthday celebration for our daughter. It's hard to find a place to make beef wellington so I was excited to see it on the menu. And it did not disappoint. It was fun to see the boats coming and going. Place was packed when we left. Definitely have to get reservations.
Great restaurant for any occasion. It has a beautiful view of the marina. Staff, food and drinks were amazing. We came here for brunch and our server was José. He was extremely helpful and kind. The manager also gave our 2 birthday ladies a gift card which was really nice. We will definitely recommend to friends and family, and of course we’ll be back. Thank you Prime staff. You were great!
Attended for a holiday party and they did not disappoint, food was amazing !! Some of the best sushi ive had . Antipasto board was gorgeous, prosciutto sliced fine & lovely brie !! Their lobster was a bit on the chewy side but over all everything else such as ; oysters , crab legs, meatballs, Brussel sprouts, broccoli, lamb, potato’s, mini sliders, much more were delicious. The waiters/waitresses were very attentive and provide great service. I would love to come back again 100%. Drinks tasted yummy too!
First time here. We got the 3course prefix menu and started with some rolls and truffle parmesab gnocchi. Rolls were very well balanced and the gnocchis were 10/10 I literally love it. As a second we got short rib w lobster salad and petite filet mignon. Overall we enjoyed the dinner and the view. Id recommend you to come before sunset👌
Great outdoor seating with nice views of the harbor. Shrimp cocktail was fresh as well as the lobster roll. Nice portion sizes and service was very attentive. Will be back next time in the area!
I love the Japanese A5 Wagyu black truffle lobster sushi roll. I like the foie gras and prefer it hot as the serving plate cools the foie gras making it less satisfying. I like the squash side and parmesan cheese side. Beautiful view.
An outstanding dining experience. Great view. Diverse team and clientele. The staff is professional, gracious and aims to please. The food is delicious. Parking is not a problem. Be sure to take a stroll along the waterfront. Options for gluten free folks! I do not have a single criticism. Just go! Make your reservation and go!
First time here and from when we walked in the door we were made feel welcome. The service was very good and well worth the tip at the end of the meal. The menu is reassuringly small, however there is still plenty of choice and something for everyone…even the most fickle amongst us. They easily catered for intolerances and were very professional in doing so. The restaurant is roomy and the table large so you can eat without bumping elbows or eaves dropping on the conversation beside you. The staff were always there but never obvious. Really enjoyable experience and we will go back.
The rating is given based on the one-time experience I had. Overall a nice ambiance with an excellent view, worth going. The food is something to die for. The flavors are well balanced, the taste is amazing.
Went for a special occasion lunch and the view was quite lovely. We were seated by the window overlooking the boats that are docked in the marina. For starters I had the soup of the day which was a lobster chowder with potatoes (that had a subtle truffle flavor) topped with crème. It was perfect. As my main I got the Boston lobster roll, which was a great portion and pretty well stuffed with buttered lobster, and this came with the side of fries (wish I had taken a picture but I wanted to enjoy the lobster warm). The bisque and lobster roll was a great value for the power lunch and totally worth it. For dessert we had the s’more Sundae since it seemed to be the only dessert we’ve never tried before (split with my husband since we were pretty full with our lunch). It was good, but not WOW (the reason why the food didn’t get a perfect 5 stars). The service was great, the staff made helpful recommendations and were very attentive to making sure our glasses were full, food was to our expectations and that we were enjoying our dining experience. Would definitely be going back again for the lovely ambiance and the lobster.
Went here for my girlfriends birthday, from the moment we walked in it was a phenomenal experience. Looking at the experience as a whole the decor, drinks, apps, dinner and dessert everything was exquisitely exceptional, it may be pricey but worth every penny. Get the beef Wellington and for after take the boat taxi across the pond for a nice stroll.
Great food and service every time! The location is right on the water so the view is always wonderful and the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is beautiful! The gnocchi, caesar salad and creamed corn are all amazing and a must try!
Good established restaurant and bar with water views . Attentive staff making sure you are fully satisfied.
My husband, a true carnivore, said this was the best steak he has ever eaten. And let me tell you...he is well versed. I got a halibut special (pictures) and it was so delicious. The view of the water is spectacular. Not enough good things to saw about Prime. We cannot wait to go back!
Just a perfect experience: from cocktails, to appetizers, to wine list, to entrees, to sides, to desserts. No stone was left unturned. Thank you! We'll be back!!
A new favorite for fine dining in Stamford! We came to check out their gingerbread houses and enjoy a festive date night. Prime went above and beyond! Their wait staff was attentive and pleasant all evening, even cleaning the table between courses. My husband’s steak was cooked perfectly, and we were impressed to find they even had sushi on the menu! The mac and cheese was also a highlight. We couldn’t get over how decadent their hot chocolate was! This spot was such a treat, and we really want to come back in the daytime to enjoy the waterfront views.
What a beautiful experience. I tend to go to other restaurants in this area but we decided to splurge for our anniversary. The staff were very attentive. The food was excellent. We ordered the ceviche, filet mignon, New York strip, whipped potatoes, broccoli, jalapeño margarita and limoncello spritz. My only issue was I ordered my filet mignon medium and it was closer to medium well. My husband prefers medium well so he enjoyed his own New York strip and some of my filet. The location is gorgeous. We sat by the window and watched the boats coming and going. If you choose to eat here, just be aware that with excellent service, food and atmosphere comes a higher price.
Food was delicious, the entire staff was amazing!!! I’m a bit of a picky eater and I don’t eat steak so I was banking on the daily special. Great gamble I got the lobster ravioli, lobster bisque and the brussel sprouts-all DELICIOUS!!!!! They also kept the bday cake while we enjoyed dinner and brought it out at the perfect time to sing happy bday to the guest of honor, they even cut the cake for us.
Went to celebrate with the family for Sunday brunch for the first time. Great view, professional service, & food was excellent. Quite possibly the best pancakes I ever had...and I have had MANY! The tatter tots were also out of this world.
They are the best in everything. They deserve your best tip The best beef Wellington that I ate, they have the best Express Martini that you ever try. Best restaurant to have a great dinner, see beautiful and polite people and the best atmosphere ever!
Went with my parents!! Love the atmosphere, the food, and especially the service was kind and great!! Thank you, Jose, for serving us!! It was a fantastic lunch with a beautiful view also! Planning to visit again soon!!
5 stars all across! Best food and attention you can get. The water view is amazing. The outside seating in the warm season is a must-do. The only thing missing is the bands like in previous years

Great gluten free options - their spicy tuna rolls are delicious! I feel very safe eating there with my gluten allergy - the staff is knowledgeable and attentive!
This restaurant is a MUST GO!! My husband took me here for our 6 year anniversary and the staff was beyond awesome! I may have heard “ Happy anniversary” from 5 different staff members.. alone side several treats “ on the house” . The food was also amazing! Shoutout to JULIE our waitress! We will definitely be back! Thank you again! The kimbles
I have been coming to this place for many years now and they are always the best. Super friendly and attentive staff. Food and drinks are top notch. Venue and ambiance are spectacular!
Had a fantastic lunch with my team here. The food, service and drinks were great and yummy. Great to look at the water while we had time together enjoying our meal.
Writing this from the parking lot because I was just so impressed and couldn't wait. My father had been talking the place up for months and it exceeded all expectations. The food and service were phenomenal. I'll be talking about my drink for ages, possibly the best cocktail I've ever had. And finally, you must hire from a modeling agency or something because the staff were so beautiful and our waitress had all the specials and all of our orders memorized, and it was a lot. It was a really amazing experience and I cannot wait to dine here again.
Fab bar and restaurant on the harbor. Great views. Tables are outside in warmer weather. Ample parking. Jimmy, the manager, was welcoming and engaging. Service was impeccable. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Mushroom side was generous and buttery. Excellent bread selection and onion soup was one of the best we ever had. Can’t wait to try this place for brunch.
Great place to have a drink in Stamford. I enjoyed their lychee martini. They have a gorgeous wrap-around bar with plenty of seating. The restaurant overlooks the water, so you get beautiful views of boats along the docks. There’s also a large parking lot, which makes parking a breeze. I’ve heard the restaurant is usually packed, but it was pretty quiet on a Sunday evening.
First time at Prime. Server was fantastic. Table outside had fabulous views of.the water. Loved our location. We held a college mini reunion at this location. Crab cake was good. Loved the baked eggplant. Loved their cappuccino. Ceasar salad was just ok. We overall had a fantastic time.
Pros: Unbeatable view next to the sea. We were able to look at the full moon in the night sky and the boats on the water while enjoying our food. The service was not bad although they were very busy accommodating a lot of guests at the same time. The cocktails with pineapple and cucumbers were very creative. The oysters, sprouts, and fries were amazing. The chocolate cake came with a very big size. Cons: Didn’t like the baked half chicken. The crispy smell and taste was not appreciated by me. I wish it could be cooked just like the sprouts. The steak sandwich was a little plain. The waiter was not speaking very clearly when introducing the specials. So we didn’t order any specials. Just ordered whatever on the menu.
The highlight are their cocktails! Very fresh, elegant, modern cocktails, could experiment with different garnishes but overall the execution of classics like Cosmos or Old fashions are clean and neat. Have tried their food menu but still quite doesn’t meet quality and price. Worth the check if you’re looking for a place where you can enjoy of vibrant and exciting atmosphere but not if you’re looking for a well done meal.
Fine dining on the Stamford Harbor. It was a nice day but too cold for outside dining. They have a sushi chef that prepares rolls in the dining room. I had the burger no bun which I liked. Also the lobster chowder was very good with crème fraiche. I liked the hamachi roll and also the chicken paillard salad was tasty.
Food 4⭐️ Drinks 2⭐️ Service 5⭐️ Atmosphere 5⭐️ Food was good. Happy they had special and everything came cook well. Oysters were awesome! DRINKS wish I didn't waist the money. Me and my boyfriend both ordered 2 Drinks each. Leaving with no buzz at all and the drinks tasted week sadly. Service was fast and they cleaned the table quickly. Probably won't come again unless it is during the day so I can appreciate the beautiful view.
A great “special event” place. Great menu with a variety of steak and seafood selections. Cocktails were on point as was the service. Located next to the marina with beautiful water views.
Pretty good. My beef wellington was medium instead of medium rare but still good so I didn't send it back. The cocktails are great and I would highly recommend the gnocchi. My brother's filet was cooked perfectly and I'd say my dad's halibut was a tad bit overcooked. Great outdoor seating.
I’m super grateful to Restaurant Prime in Stamford for accommodating such a large reservation—especially on such short notice. I was visiting town to celebrate my two cousins’ graduations and wanted to treat them somewhere nice. I couldn’t believe how much Stamford has changed! I loved seeing all the new restaurant options available—it’s definitely become a fun spot for dining out. We had originally planned to go to Sign of the Whale, but without a reservation, they couldn’t seat us. Luckily, we ended up at Prime—and it worked out perfectly. What started as a group of 10 quickly turned into 14, and the staff didn’t miss a beat. The service was fantastic, and brunch was absolutely delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks, and we had a beautiful time reminiscing and celebrating together. To top it off, they had a live band playing during brunch, and the music was phenomenal—it really elevated the vibe and made the celebration feel extra special. The restaurant was very accommodating, and our server was such a standout—attentive, friendly, and on point the entire time. I actually nicknamed him The Golden Boy because he handled our big, ever-changing group like a pro. Big shoutout to him for helping make the day so enjoyable! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the water situation. Without asking, they began serving Saratoga bottled water, and with a group our size, I feel like they should’ve checked first or defaulted to tap. Especially since everyone was drinking alcohol and barely even touching their water. As someone who dines out often, I caught it quickly and asked the server how many bottles had already been served so we could stop it before it got excessive. Aside from that, it’s a great restaurant with amazing food, live music, top-tier service, and a beautiful view.
The food is good and fresh but definitely not worth their pricing. They’re asking Manhattan prices for upstaged bar food. The cocktails are mediocre, and the only ambience here is that they are on a semi commercial Marina in Stamford.
Steak was ok, perfectly cooked but lacking flavor. crème brûlée was perfect, appetizers were good. Nothing special. Nice views and atmosphere but food was average.
One of the most consistent restaurants. You always know what you will get is solid. All staff always are super happy and the view is amazing no matter what. A bit steep on the prices, you will always be a bit shocked when getting the bill and your drive through a rough neighborhood to get there. Other than that no complaints
Update: Did not accept gift card. Was extremely rude and nasty about it arguing that “I don’t know who lied to you” after we called and asked if we can use it. What a business killer over $25 when I’m already over paying double that for sushi. What a shame. ————————— Dined here on my birthday. First off, the staff is extremely great and friendly. The bartenders were nice and our server was very sweet. The manager came out and greeted us multiple times. The food does all the talking too. Arguably the best octopus we’ve ever had! Can’t go wrong with the beef Wellington or paella. We had such an excellent and positive experience, we’re surprised it’s not as popular.
I made a reservation for 7pm on a Saturday night a few weeks in advance with the request to sit by the window and I was told that they will mark it down but that they can’t guarantee a table but they would try their best (which I totally understand). We arrived right on time and was immediately sent to the back of the restaurant near the kitchen which was not acceptable so I went back to remind the host that I made this reservation a few weeks in advance and this was not a last minute unreasonable request, I got the same “we try our best blah blah” BS answer and so I pushed back again and was told that we would be seated “at the last 4 seat table near the window” as if he was doing me a favor. The restaurant was maybe 50% full and they could have held a table prior to our 7pm reservation but AGAIN the table they sat us at was not only at the kitchens front entrance, but also the waiters station. We debated at the table as to what to do and It was clear to us they did not care about our experience so we got up and walked out and went to another steakhouse in Greenwich and had a great experience.
I had a very disappointing experience with David, who identified himself as the restaurant’s manager. While trying to place an order for my partner and me, I took a few seconds checking the name of an appetizer. David told me he didn’t have time to be on the phone. When I asked to speak to another representative, he refused and told me to call later. His attitude was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. When he noticed I was upset, he finally agreed to take my order. However, when I requested to speak with the general manager, he said the general manager was busy and told me to call back later. The incompetence and lack of empathy displayed by David show a regrettable attitude towards customer service. I sincerely hope the restaurant takes action to improve this type of behavior.
Very under impressed. Have dined in many places across multiple continents and by far one of the least impressive places both in service and food versus price point. Not unwilling to open the wallet for fine dining but with that comes a high expectation of service. This place fell well short of that expectation… well short. The server… nice, a little too informal for this price point… under dressed, no proper introduction, no welcoming to the restaurant, asking if it is our first time, etc… seemed distant and perhaps rushed. When the food was delivered, the runners made no verbal engagement with our table… just dropped the food and ran. No explanation of the food, no checking to see if all is to our expectations, nor was the server there to immediately follow up after delivery of the starters nor the mains. The runners acted as if they didn’t even feel comfortable speaking English and engaging with the customer in conversation. Everything is a la carte with sides all at $16 per side. Even a simple bread basket was an additional charge. The wine list is quite minimal, uninteresting, and at an average of $60.00 … yes… $60.00 for a 6oz pour, not worth a true consideration. The most telling part was upon entering the restaurant, for over 2 minutes, no one to greet us… no one. The bartender had to “yell” from the bar that someone will be with us. At $200.00 per person, it was absolutely unacceptable service all evening from start to finish. I rarely critique this way, but this restaurant is substantially “lacking” in multiple areas. A substantial disappointment… would not recommend.
