Opinions de The Axe & Palm Stanford
Pretty good food on campus, use your meal plan dollars if you have them. Chipotle sauce is the best for chicken tenders or burgers.
I prefer eating here over the Treehouse, but its hours are more inconvenient and if there are a lot of people, which often times there are, the wait for food can be really annoying. But the ordering system is really neat and easy, done on iPads, and the food is great. It's also a little cheaper than Treehouse which is excellent. I also love their honeydew milktea.
Decent quick food -- TAP is your basic college sports bar, minus the bar part. Now faster with ordering via tablets. Popular campus spot, especially for late night dining.
The bean burger was really excellent, best vegi berger I've had. Had good sweet potato frys too. Not real fast but well prepared and good value.
Great burgers, affordable prices, and I really like their condiments selection (even during the pandemic)!
Super awesome place for a quick meal. Especially on late nights. Waffle fries are amazing!
For the location, best prices around. Good quality hamburgers. Lunch special is awesome
This place is the best! Usually open till 1 or 2 am, offers a huge study area and good, realistically price food!
Nice place for a halal bite. Good food but the timing of the restaurant is bad. Opens at 5pm.
Very tasty food with good vegan options and quick friendly service. Also a fun place to chill.
The ladies working in there are alllllll hella cool. And Michelle is the best manager ever!! And the cooks in the back are awesome too!
Axe & palm lunch combo is literally the best thing on this planet. Its gotten me through so much in life. The workers and the manager are also insanely nice. Also the lunch combo. Its amazing. I love the pretzel buns too. Also chicken tenders.
Wonder burgers and sandwiches! They feature a few vegetarian burger options like brown rice patty, mushroom, Impossible Burger, and black bean burger. There are also standard burgers and some fun alternatives like bison. Order food at one of the self serve kiosks then sit down. They have many bottled drinks, chips, soda fountain drinks, or boba milk tea drinks. After you order you can help yourself to the counter with different sauces. There is a ton of seating! The restaurant itself features indoor and outdoor seating. You can also venture into the adjoining building and sit somewhere more quiet. This would be great for groups. I had the bison burger combo. I would highly recommend the combo. You get a huge pile of fries and a soda. The burger is 100% customizable. The bison was flavorful and moist. The fries were fresh. Service was very good. Just ask if you have a question. Bus your own table at the end.

This place have 4 self order tablets and one cashier. This speeds up the service andrefuces the waiting times. There is hardly any line there when you enter. If you are in a hurry or font like waiting in line or waiting too long to get your order, then this is the place to go to on campus. Also it is clean, well organized, and allows lots of sun in. The burgers are good, the portions are fairly big, and the prices are reasonable.
Affordable, customizable burger with good options for customization. Also a good selection of fries to choose from. Ordering was simple and interactive through a touchscreen based system and the music was pretty cool too while I was there, so a great experience overall.
Mark and his team of sunshine have been nothing but positive support all throughout the pandemic with a great place on campus to get quick tasty food. I had the brioche bun salmon burger with waffle fries + TAP sauce dunkerosity that was melt in your mouth delicious. I'll be opening my calendar this afternoon to schedule my next lunch at The Axe & Palm. If you find yourself in a hurry, there's also an ample supply of grab and go options to get you on your way swiftly.
This place has great Stanford sports paraphernalia, but instead of having a photo of a random golfer, they should really have a photo of TIGER WOODS. I mean, Andrew Luck is already on the wall, twice.

I became vegetarian 6 months ago and worried about how I will find my go to plate to accompany the Axe and Palm's wonderful cajun fries. I found it in the Palm Burger, which is a rice and quinoa burger that is the perfect combination of moist and flavorful. If you are a student the place is definitely a staple and I suggest you find your go to meal for those pre or post game meals.
Lots of customization for you kiosk-placed orders but generally overpriced. It is a good dumping ground for unused meal plan dollars on the brink of expiration.
Love hanging out on the farm and the axe and palm is the best place to get food. I like the new tablet ordering system too.
Average taste and price around here. College kids atmosphere if you want to get some feeling of being an undergraduate here.
Great burgers. Bubble tea was surprisingly good. However, the waffle fries were hard and cold. And it is bit pricey for a college cafe.
Spent way too much here in undergrad and the prices are definitely what a monopoly would charge but the late night hours and service were always great. Would recommend the chicken tenders and caesar salad
TAP is an amazing place for Stanford students to eat when its hella late. Those burgers are to die for. Only drawback is things are a little pricey BUT you can always use your meal plan dollars.
Good burgers and I love the waffle fries. There is a nice gathering on weekends. The staff can get a bit annoyed at times, other than that a nice place for american food. Great for takeaway and the food is very fresh too.
Not sure if the reproductive harm was included in the meal deal or not.

One of the only places on campus open during covid closure. Fries are good, garlic, seasoned all yummy. These guys are open super late also. Burgers are good if you want food coma lol. No complaints here.
If you are looking for burgers and fries, then this is the right place for you. Menu might be a little pricey, but it is open late which is convenient for students. Students can also spend Meal Plan Dollars here if they are tired of Dining Hall food.

Price increases are too much, Oreo milkshake is now $9 for a mediocre shake. Used to be a fun spot to stop by but I don’t think the prices are worth it.
Warm and freshly cooked food. Small selection but filling for the meat lovers. Quick to order and tech enabled tracking of food prep.
Burgers as just okay. The fries are pretty good though. The atmosphere is a bit rushed, but they have nice booths.
I ordered grilled chicken sandwich with onion rings, and epitome of elegance it is not. Lower your expectations and it'll be fine.
Lackluster, over-priced food. If you're stuck on Stanford campus, a decent eat. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
I liked the old menus with the sliders and they used to do breakfast sandwiches that rival the Sports Cafe.
A good spot for late night snack if you're drunk. Don't bother going sober since the food is terrible though.
A classic on Stanford campus, food is always mediocre but consistent (in a bad way probably). Would not advise spending your own real cash here if you had to. It's one of the few places you can grab somewhere to eat at 1am, so that's where you're probably gonna go... whether your like it or not.
Alright food for a campus dining location, a bit pricey for most of the menu items, but they do have a captured audience. This location is supposed to be famous for being open late, but has been lacking on those hours during the pandemic. They would definitely have more sales from those of us working late and wanting a quick bite. Unfortunately, the boba drinks are not worth it - much better to take a trip to, for instance, Boba Guys in Town and Country. Otherwise good food for the location.
Food is mediocre and the burger is big enough to appease a late lunch appetite. Fries are generous and good. But a little noisy around 1pm and you have to wait in line. p.s. the table is not very clean.
If you're looking for a burger, this place barely meets the standards. My bacon was overcooked and stale; they also forgot a part of my order. I must say the sweet potatoe fries were on point and the restaurant as a whole was clean and bright.

1 star if you're not a Stanford student, 3 stars if you are. 1 star because if you're a visitor to campus, you are paying way too much money for terrible quality food on par with (or worse than) a TV dinner. 3 stars if you go to Stanford because you don't really have many other options on campus, plus they accept meal plan dollars, and since you're paying a ridiculous amount for bad food anyways, might as well go to TAP because at least the vibe is cool.
As others have mentioned, over the last several years, quality and portion sizes have sharply declined, while prices have sharply increased. Not a good combination.
They don't accept cash
This used to be a cheap place to eat. Now they serve frozen hamburgers for $17... If only my stipend inflated this much
Overpriced. Small portions. Disinterested employees. This joint has all the makings of a terrible meal experience. Who goes here? Stanford Alumni trying to relive the glory days I guess. Listen to the Springsteen song and realize how pathetic that is. But not as pathetic bas this place. I'd rather eat at the Subway...and we all know that's a low bar.
TAP has inflated their prices and cut costs so much in the last year that they serve worse quality food for a higher price than lakeside and now even doordash is a cheaper option. It’s absolutely disgusting what R&DE does to its own students.
I got the Immortal 21, which had usually come with 6 tenders, and I only got 4. I asked a staff member there how many it usually comes with, and they said 6. But when I told them I only got 4, another staff member told me they only give out 4 now. I looked at all the menus and they had REMOVED any description of how many tenders the menu items includes. It just says "Crispy chicken tenders" now, when it used to tell you 6. Obviously, they reduced the number of tenders they're giving, and updated the menu to be more vague, to scam Stanford students. There is literally no other reason they would update the description to remove the number of tenders. I asked for two more but they said no. Don't support a business that is trying to scam you. Never coming here again.
Me: Can we have good late-night food? R&DE: We have good late-night food at Stanford The good late-night food at Stanford: In all seriousness, TAP could be worse. However, it sucks that I even have to say that as a defense for the place. I may have been here for just over a year, but I recall when TAP was *slightly* better. The prices were just a tad lower, you could get as many sauces as you want for free, and they had waffle fries that always satisfied my late night cravings. Now, those are pretty much all gone. They reformatted the menu so that you have to pay more for some of their previously offered items; each tiny little sauce cup costs 49 cents instead of being free; waffle fries are no longer a stand-alone option (you can only get it as part of a temporary special). I no longer feel desire to come here. If you need to eat something, the food is edible. But the charm that made the Axe & Palm somewhat attractive, in my eyes, has disappeared.
TAP is usually an awesome late night dining spot. However, they have no crowd control whatsoever. Tonight, I waited for 45 minutes for my food, which was already cooked, ready, and cold, before I eventually gave up without even trying to obtain a refund. This was unacceptable service. I know TAP is a beloved campus spot, but this oversight is egregious and must be called to attention.
this is not axe and palm anymore. this is awful, overpriced crap with the same business name. no vegetarian options, no salmon, no bison, no waffle fries. this business needs to fail so something better can move in, stop giving them money.
