Opinions de Telefèric Barcelona Palo Alto
Another great location for Teleferic. Smaller location than Scottsdale but they have a large patio. Tuna tacos can’t be beat Tried the meatballs and they are now a favorite. I tried the bacon wrapped shrimp and they looked nothing like I envisioned. Basically Spanish egg rolls. Tasty Service was friendly but a little too relaxed.
I’ve been to this restaurant twice for dinner, and both visits were memorable in their own way. The first time was a weekend evening with a date. We had a reservation and were seated outside on the patio, which had a very lively, upbeat tapas-bar vibe. The service was quick and attentive. We started with a few tapas- patatas bravas, gambas al ajillo (one of my all-time favorites), and crab croquettes. Everything was delicious, but the gambas al ajillo really stood out. I only wish they had served a few more slices of bread so I could soak up all that garlicky olive oil goodness. They gave just two pieces, and I felt a bit shy asking for more. For drinks, I ordered the Barcelona sangria, which was absolutely amazing—sweet, refreshing, bubbly, and very light on the alcohol. It almost felt like a sparkling lemonade with wine. He ordered another cocktail, which he enjoyed as well. We also shared a burrata salad with pistachios, strawberries, and tomatoes. It was nice and fresh, though nothing particularly standout. That wrapped up our first visit, and overall, it was a great experience. The second visit was with a friend who was visiting town, and this time we went all out. I ordered the same sangria again (still excellent), while my friend chose a virgin mocktail, which he really liked. We started with oysters, which were served very theatrically—on pebbles with dramatic white fumes, possibly from dry ice. Visually stunning and very fun. The oysters themselves were fresh and tasty, topped with something interesting that I sadly don’t remember, but we enjoyed them a lot. Next came our favorite patatas bravas again, followed by a grilled octopus dish served over potato purée with truffle. The octopus was cooked perfectly—not chewy at all, just tender and flavorful. The real highlight of the meal, though, was the Barcelona-style squid ink paella. A heads-up: the portion is huge. We couldn’t finish it and had to take leftovers home. The rice was jet black from the squid ink, deeply umami-rich, and packed with seafood—octopus, clams, shrimp, and more. It was incredibly comforting and flavorful, and honestly, I may have overeaten because it was that good. Even though we were completely full, we still ordered churros for dessert. They were decent, nothing extraordinary, but a nice way to end the meal. Overall, the food is consistently very good, the service is fast and professional, and the atmosphere is lively with a slightly upscale feel. It’s always busy for a reason. I really enjoyed both visits and would highly recommend this place.
We visited this Spanish restaurant with friends and absolutely loved it. We ordered paella, tuna tacos, and several other dishes — everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The drinks were especially impressive: creative, colorful, and perfectly crafted. Great atmosphere and a wonderful spot to enjoy a relaxed evening with friends. We’ll definitely be back.
I am quite impressed by the quality of the dishes! Starting with the brussel sprouts, the foamy creamy layer of aged cheese was excellent with the appetizer. The crab croquette was small but I savored it all. The paellas (there is both large and medium option which is not listed on the menu) are well seasoned. You can request for socorrat, if you want the crunchy bits, I'd emphasize it as the socorrat we got wasn't as crunchy as we'd prefer. Having that said, I enjoyed the meal tremendously!
It's already a very famous place, but I only visited it today. I had the chance to come last year, but I postponed it because I was traveling to Spain, and finally got to go. I liked the slightly modern yet cozy atmosphere, and the food was delicious. Especially the ink paella was definitely the best. If there was a downside, it was that the clams weren't fully cooked. I ordered octopus together, but it didn't come out, so I inquired and they brought it right away, but I was very impressed to see them exclude it from the cost, saying it was their mistake. I'm thinking of trying a different menu next time! I highly recommend you visit at least once.
Had a very delicious meal here with some friends. The service was great, waiter was nice and friendly and gave me some travel recommendations to Spain. All the food dishes we ordered were very good as well I especially enjoyed the octopus dish. Nice family style portions for sharing among the table.
Good food, EXCELLENT service! Their dishes are just fantastic! Their Pink bubly sangria is just perfect! Their tapas selection is fantastic! Their tuna tacos, patatas bravas, Shrimp and Octopus are just a few examples of their delicious selection. Nacho is the chef at this location and he shines bright in excellence with his dishes. Their service is also the best! The Teleferic in Palo Alto captures the essence of what an "excellent restaurant" means.
The service and the food was absolutely fantastic. I'm a paella lover and the Paella Mixta with Socarrat was amazing. One of the best we have tasted in California. The shrimps were super fresh and tasty. The servers were extremely attentive. One of the best things I liked was that all of them were bilingual and very kindly spoke to us in Spanish and although they were extremely busy they were always smiling! The place was packed since we visited on a Saturday night and the vibe was vibrant.
The paella is the star of this restaurant! The seafood and squid ink ones are the best (don’t recommend the limited menu steak one). Pro tip: ask for crispy bottom! My favorite tapas is the potatoes. The squid and croquettes are alright. The sangria is also really pretty but the taste can differ depending on the bartender (stronger alcohol vs lighter). Honestly one of the top Spanish restaurants I’ve had!
I love this place! Been here both of my last work trips out here and it’s so good I’ll be back next t time too. Cocktails are delicious, the bartenders are lots of fun to talk to and they know a lot. The food is really something special! * Spanish Albondigas- well made meatballs w Manchego and ham carbonara - delicious * Tuna Tacos - special - perfect shell with fresh avocado and plenty of tuna make these bites shine * Grilled Salmon - what a simple description for an amazingly well executed dish! The salmon is perfectly cooked (may look rare to some of y’all but trust me, it’s perfect) with a golden crust from well executed searing served on a bed of whipped cauliflower then topped with crisp Iberian ham (think bacon, but better) and snap peas. This dish is splendid and I’ve had it on both visits Also, great ambiance with a bustle, nice “uniforms”, structured levels - really fun place and there is a small front patio Go give Teleferic Barcelona a try - bring a friend as it’s more fun to share dishes!
My husband and I walked into the Palo Alto location for lunch on a hot June afternoon while our kid was preparing to compete at Stanford Stadium, across the street. With numerous large parties in the main dining room, we were given the choice between the shaded patio and the air conditioned bar. We opted for the AC, but would have enjoyed the patio just 10⁰ cooler. Marco greeted us as we sat with the option of still or sparkling water. A recent Barcelona transplant, he warmly walked us through the menu after confirming we had not visited the restaurant before. 10/10 Ubaldo was our bartenderfriendly and knowledgeable bartender. His service was impeccable and his suggestions were perfectly in line with our preferences. 10/10 We landed on the virgin sangria, Tuna Tacos, Pulpo Telefèric, and Bruselas. The plates were small, but the portions were perfect for the two of us. The Sangria was cool and refreshing in the heat, though I would have enjoyed more depth. It was certainly more complex than the mere juice cocktail typical of an alcohol free sangria. 8/10 The Tuna Tacos were made up of marinated ahi and mashed avocado in a fried wonton shell with dollops of garlic aioli and spicy mayo. They were served with a lime wedge, and through delicious on their own, the tang of the freshly squeezed lime elevated them to the perfect flavor bombs. 10/10 The Pulpo Telefèric was a grilled galacian octopus tentacle on a puddle of potato pureé flavored with pimentón and truffle oil. The octopus was cooked to succulent perfection, but we found the potato pureé lacking in flavor when compared with the tacos. 8/10 The Bruselas were large, halved Brussels sprouts roasted in basil oil and lemon-honey glaze, topped with manchego foam and pumpkin seeds. The flavors were perfect, but we found that the sprouts were slightly undercooked for their size. The crispy bits were perfect, but the large heads would have benefited from additional caramelization and softness. 8/10 This is not a restaurant to wonder into while struggling financially. The plates range from $10-$120 and an automatic 20% gratuity is added to every bill. We were surprised that the three small plates completely satisfied us and we left at just under $100. The food and service is worth every penny and we highly recommend a visit to either the Palo Alto or Walnut Creek location. 9/10

We came here on a Tuesday night around 6:30pm without a reservation, but fortunately we were able to get a seat at the bar within 45 minutes. The food and drinks arrived very quickly after we ordered. - Virgin the tourist: this was sweet and tropical, I couldn't really taste the lychee juice though - Carajillo: this was like an espresso martini, luckily the caffeine content wasn't too much - Paella mixta: the pork belly was super tender and the shrimp was plump. The rice was ok in terms of flavor, and some were stuck at the bottom of the pan and hard to scoop up. - Pulpo: This was really good. The truffle oil made it even more delicious - Wagyu empanada: This looked very aesthetic with a leaf shaped potato chip on top, the flavor was ok though Overall the restaurant was nice, though I was slightly disappointed by its paella. Maybe my standards are a little skewed since my baseline for paella are ones that I've had in Barcelona. I would come back here to give it another try though.
Order the paella first thing! It takes at least 15 minutes to cook. This was a solid spot in a cool plaza. It took a long time to turn into the plaza, as if there was only one entrance. Paella Mixta ($46) - Not bad overall. I liked how soft the octopus was. Enough to feed 2-3 people! Warning: Mandatory 20% service charge on all bills.

Really wanted to love this place but sad to say I don't think I'll be coming back. Tapas were good, we got the kale salad, octopus, potatoes, crab croquette and enjoyed those. However, we also ordered the paella (March special), and the beef Wellington both of which were very mid. 1) both entrees came out 45 mins after the tapas, which I understand paella usually takes a while to make but I would have appreciated a heads up. 2) the beef Wellington had this other half to it which was cold/room temp. 3) service was nice but a little slow. It was definitely busy as they had multiple big parties as well. We got there at 8:00PM and left at 9:45PM Churros were a delightful tho!
We ordered a couple of tapas. The chicken empanadas and tuna tacos were amazing. So much so I regret not getting a plate of those for myself versus the pork steak which was just over priced chewey pork and def not worth the almost 50 dollars. The desert was also not as described. It was supposed to be a creme brulee but it was more like a dry piece of bread. The salad that came with the pork steak was also massively salty and I couldn't take more than a few bites with the dressing they used. My friends that ordered the paella were also really disappointed and we all agreeded we should have ordered more tacos and empanadas. Btw skip the wagyu ones they are not worth it. At 120 a person definitely over priced.
Burrata salad was the only stand out dish, the pork paella was ok but there was definitely no socarrat even though we asked for it with that style. Waiter got the customization wrong even though it was related to an allergy, after it was fixed they charged us twice even though the first order was wrong.
Not going to burry the lead here…. I wasn’t blown away. The best part of the meal was the Brussels sprouts. Everything else left me wanting more and kind of was lack luster. It was a good experience with service though. Some of the best service I have had dining in a while. But the food was mediocre. We ordered the papa Fritas, the croquettes, and waygu empanadas, and Brussels sprouts as appetizers. They came out as they were ready so hot and not all at once. None of them tasted bad by any means. I just can’t tell you they were memorable. For our main entree we ordered paella. We got the prawn, octopus, pork, and chicken one. This was a let down. We asked for it the crispy way and it wasn’t super crispy. But the worst part was the chicken. It was so dry. I don’t think you will go and have a bad time here. It’s food. It’s Spanish. It’s different. I personally wouldn’t go back though.

Came by with a group of 7 (6 adults and a baby). We had a reservation, but didn't end up getting sat until 10 min after our original time. We were sat at a smaller table, which was unfortunate, as we ordered quite a bit of food, so we were definitely a bit crammed. As a table, we ordered: -pan con tomate $8 -patatas bravas $9 -wagyu empanadas $16 -octopus $19 -tuna tacos $15 -paella negra $48 -iberico paella $56 Tuna tacos, octopus, and potatos were good. Everything else was a bit of a miss. Paella was underwhelming. Overcooked and salty. This was my first time at this location. Usually go to the Los Gatos one. As other lower reviews have mentioned, service here was an absolute miss: -probably saw our server twice during our meal and had to order with random people -when asking for new plates, staff took our plates and never came back with new ones because they forgot Originally planned for a 2 star review, as I've had significantly better experiences at other locations, so it could've been better. What drops this to a one star: Telefaric reached out a week later via email saying there was an issue on their end and their system showed we didn't pay. Though they mentioned it was their fault, they asked us to check our bank statements and help pay the balance. Startled, we checked and we had split the bill in 2 and clearly paid for it. We mentioned it was split and we had records. A bit later, they mentioned "they reviewed the account and can see where the issue was" Are you kidding me? You didn't check your system first in FULL detail...and our respose was we had it and split it, and you were able to find the issue? Extremely disrespectful and unprofessional way of going about this situation. This just goes to show how unorganized this location is. Not sure if I'll be back to Telefaric based on this experience. You've been warned.
