Opinions de Asian Box Palo Alto
Vietnamese food in a modern presentation and built for the masses. And the flavors were good, of course. A bit overpriced but it is Palo Alto.
Perfect for quick bite.... Must try their chef signature box. Fresh, healthy, taste, customer service, location value of money, parking, 5/ 5*
The garden box is the best, I could eat it everyday! I love the coconut yellow curry and the peanut sauce. All the toppings are super fresh. A delicious lunch!
I have ordered the Tofu (All Toppings) 15 times so far in the 8 months since I discovered the chain, and has become a good reason to visit Palo Alto. Great flavor and vegetarian options.
Imagine yourself, it's SF quarantine, 2020. The date? 4/11/20. Almost some sort of confidence, but far from it. My destiny in life was to devour this delicious meal. Do yourself a favor, eat here before we all take the long nap. Order online for easy pickup. Pristine sanitation, courteous staff, outdoor seating available for essential business Tinder dates...

It's closer to Southeast Asian or, more specifically, Vietnamese food. Their most popular item, "Workout" (six-spiced chicken) tastes lemony, but lightly salted and sweetened. Pretty good, but not something memorable. The food is fresh though, and the portion is just about right for a small person. Very affordable prices at $15 and above per box. Available for to go or dine in. Very nice outdoor seating. There's a big table inside as well. Water provided, which is another plus. I will try their curry chicken next time I stop by. Overall, it's a very affordable and decent place in an expensive neighborhood.
Stopped in for a later lunch the other day. I had the sweet and spicy chicken and a shrimp spring roll. If you want a quick eat that's healthier than fast food, this is a good option.
Six spice chicken with brown rice box is my favorite. They always prep fresh food and love all the goodness in one box for quick lunch time.
Great gluten free options 😁 the food was pretty good. I would come here again . The staff were very knowledgeable about if things were dairy-free as well which is another allergy I have a long with gluten.
Two of us had lunch here. It is counter service. The menus has an excellent selection and comes across as both tasty and healthy. The price is reasonable and the serving a well sized for all but the super hungry. The bathroom is clean. Parking is available but very crowded at lunch time. We got the Salmon salad and the yellow curry vegetables. Both dishes had great flavor and fresh ingredients the flavor of the curry vegetables is good enough to be considered one of the vegetarian meals in Palo Alto. The only negative (which is easy for the restaurant to fix) was super aggressive wasp trying to get the salmon. As the only seating is outside have to swat at a wasp all meal was disconcerting. They need wasp traps big time.
Good spot for a quick bowl of rice and protein. Friendly staff and quick service. Some outdoor seating
Stopped by the Palo Alto location for lunch. My son and I were very satisfied with our orders. I had the Salmon.

9-25-21: Stopped by for lunch before the UCLA vs Stanford football 🏈 game. Tried the Vietnamese hot 🔥 chicken 🐔 and was disappointed. Tasted like they poured that Thai sweet chili sauce over the dish... the kind you get at an Asian market. If I wasn't so hungry, I think I would not have liked it as much... Not sure if I would be back OR I would try something different.

Expensive Salmon Salad with very small amount of salmon, dressing without flavor and a salad with just green leaves. UGH! Wanted to eat there, but all tables were sticky and disgusting.
Fast food to go with sitting area. Select rice variety or noodles, topping choices, sauce choices. This is probably good for children who like predicability in their food choices. A good indication of how great a place is is whether you finish everything in your to-go box. The food is not that interesting or innovative, nor really enticing. But, it's a safe bet.

Horrible place. The food was not fresh, the salmon I ordered was cooked at an unknown time, then heated up in the microwave and thrown on top of my salad. And in general everything was sloppy and careless. The tables were greasy and dirty from food, I had to wipe them myself and it was dirty all around. I'm afraid to imagine what's going on in the kitchen... I don't recommend this place, it's awful.
The food tastes very bad because it is far too sugary. The "Vietnamese hot chicken box" has cubed chicken breast slathered in extremely sweet sauce. It tastes like nothing that has ever touched the nation of Vietnam. You can't taste the chicken at all underneath all the sugar.
WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! Our family chose Asian Box after reading ALL of the 5 star ratings. We were convinced that this was going to be a great dinner choice and infact it was one of the worse. My daughter does NOT like peanuts! Her order specifically did NOT include peanuts, her meat choice was chicken. Upon getting our boxes as we ordered and went home, my daughters box had peanuts in them and another order had been screwed up. They switched the orders around. I didn't get to eat what I had ordered. After trying to eat and just forget about the mess up my daughter and I both could not enjoy our meal. Such a diservice to locals like us who frequent that plaza almost daily. We couldn't just go back, Asian Box closes at 9pm and we would have just wasted more time of a problem they created. The shrimp spring roll is $5. It is actually one whole spring roll that is cut into two pieces. The dipping sauce was ridiculously spicey we all ended up discarding $15 dollars down the drain along with the other two orders that were screwed up. This place is pricey and I personally wont dine here again, but if you choose to dine here, be cautious of how your order is handled. If you are someone who cannot ingest spicey sauces, skip the sauce on the spring rolls.
First, we tried to order online but that was capability was not working and the website did not have pricing, which was inconvenient. Found out upon ordering in person that this place is VERY overpriced:/ I’ve never spent $12-17 per person on a small hotbox. Shrimp were tiny and my meal felt more like a snack. Also, $12 for 2 mini spring rolls????! Are you kidding me?!! We will NOT be back.

I am not someone that usually leaves reviews, but my experience here has been terrible. I have severe food poisoning. The food was good, but absolutely not worth the aftermath. My friend has also gotten food poisoning from here and I’ve been reading through some of the reviews. It’s clear this is a problem here and something needs to change on the hygiene side or the way the food is prepped. It’s incredibly concerning. For a 20$ meal, I would recommend going elsewhere with bigger proportions and not risk getting poisoned.
