I came here for my aunt's birthday and had a great time. My server was Dewann and he was very nice and friendly. We got the birthday brownie sundae and it was huge and delicious.

Daniel made tonight memorable. He was so kind and personable. He was so responsive and had no problem helping us even though we had him running back and forth all night. We are so excited to come back. We loved the Four Meal deal, perfect for our family.

My all-time favorite restaurant!!! I went to the San Francisco location many years ago before it sadly closed down. I went to this location in Palo Alto for my birthday back in March. It was an okay experience, but I still wanted to give this place another try. Let me tell you, I was completely blown away by the waiter's FANTASTIC service. Dewann was not only kind and courteous, he was also attentive, positive, warm-hearted, and overall cheerful. I can tell he was HAPPY to serve not only at my table, but every other table he served as well. I've never received such exquisite hospitality before in my life. The bread basket tasted amazing because of the way he presented it along with the way he served the olive oil, vinaigrette, and Italian seasoning in a small bowl. It looks messy in the picture I took because I already started digging in. But seriously, he served it with such perfection that I ended up smiling for the rest of my stay. The food was really good, but it was all about the presentation from Dewann that left me absolutely satisfied. To the manager of this location: Please give Dewann some kind of special recognition, a raise, and even a promotion. He really does deserve it! THANK YOU Dewann for making me feel at home with your service. I look forward to returning to this wonderful location soon.

Hands down the best Italian restaurant I’ve been to in Albuquerque. The portions are definitely worth the price. No place competes or compares with the spicy shrimp 🍤 I had tonight. To top it off the staff will treat you like family. 10/10 recommend and will be returning.

We celebrated my son's birthday at Buca di Beppo and had a great time! This was our second visit this year, and both times we had Daniel as our server—he’s amazing: super friendly, attentive, and really makes sure you’re taken care of. The food was MUAH! (pasta Alfredo, lasagna, and the chicken stuffed with prosciutto were all delicious) and the portions are huge, so you definitely leave satisfied. After dinner, we spent some time walking around looking at all the old photos on the walls, it gives the place such a charming atmosphere. Great food, great service, and a great vibe—we’ll definitely be back!

Great place to come with a Family or Work party. But it's best when you come with the significant other to share Great Food. Pasta Shells Filled with Spicy Italian Sausage ricotta, spinach and parmesan with alfredo and under as a decoration but what gives it an extra kick is the home made marinara sauce something I get a bit extra for when I make my own plate. The other item was the Ravioli al Pomodoro with a twist. So it's just a cheese filled ravioli but with a Creamy Pesto Sauce. Something my Son loves to eat.

Very cool place and decore! The set up when you first walk in is a little different and actually feels like You are entering the restaurant backwards because the main door in Leads you through the kitchen before you meet with a host or hostess. Once you sign in to get your table you are lead up stairs to where the actual restaurant is and you are immediately emersed in what feels like an old time Italian restaurant. You can hear Frank Sinatra and other old classics playing in the background and lots of family style seating everywhere. Do not come if you are alone! This is definitely a family style restaurant and the portions are large. I went on a date night and because there was just 2 of us we ended up bringing a lot of food home. Worked out well for delicious leftovers. Would definitely recommend this place based on location, décor, and most of all the delicious food.

It had been such a long time since I last encountered quality restaurant service. I did not believe such professionalism existed at eateries during the post Covid era. However, I was proven wrong when my daughter and I went for lunch at Buca di Beppo in Palo Alto. From the moment we walked in, the staff showered us with a burst of positive energy which got our fine dining experience at Buca off to a fantastic start. Dewann, our host, was quite hospitable with his approach to restaurant service. He made us feel quite welcome throughout our dining excursion. The food we ordered was carefully prepared with an abundance of flavor! Bite after bite, the delicious taste of our pasta plates remained rather consistent. The quantity of our orders was generous; there’s quite a bit of leftovers which we look forward to having for dinner tonight and perhaps the day after! Thank you again to Dewann and the rest of Buca di Beppo’s staff for providing such a memorable dining experience for us, it’s much appreciated. Please keep up the great work! We will be back in the near future for another round of delicious Italian cuisine! Ciao!

My food was great, the flavor from appetizer to entree was great. My service was even better! If you didn’t know, this place serves LARGE plates but, tonight it was just me. My waitress recognized this and offered single serve dishes from the same giant dishes menu. I got all the flavor without wasting a single noodle. Highly recommend the Vino and chicken Carbonara. Down to earth ambience. $55 for wine, appetizer, and entree.

Daniel, William, Enzo, and the rest of the staff were amazing. The restaurant was pretty empty because we came in at an off time. It was just my mom and I celebrating her birthday. We knew the portions were huge, but we still wanted to come anyways. The White Sangria was very good. It was strong, sweet, and refreshing. The bruschetta is always great. The bread was soft and perfectly toasted. It was garlicky and full of flavor. The tomatoes were nice and ripe. And not too many onions. The Brussels sprouts were my moms favorite. They had soooo much pancetta on them and they were nice and crispy. The cheese manicotti was also really good, I just wish there was a little more sauce on it. Obviously the portions were huge, so we had lots of leftovers to eat tomorrow. Daniel was so nice. He asked if we were celebrating anything when he sat us down, and we let him know about my moms birthday and my promotion. We didn’t think anything of it, and when we were done with dinner he came over with some of the other staff with a birthday dessert and sang to us! It was a very nice experience. Entering through the kitchen (by design!) sets the fun tone for the evening. Daniel led our party of 4 to a comfortable table underneath a room ceiling composed of Christmas lights intertwined with wine bottles. Walls are covered with interesting photos befitting a neighborhood I-talian hang. A couple of us had been to Buca before and made some suggestions from the generous menu. Daniel helpfully pointed us to a special offering sized for a group of 4...salad, and garlic bread joining our choice of a chicken dish and one of the pasta items. We selected the ravioli and Chicken Marsala both prepared well and served promptly along with an excellent Pinot Noir. All are served family style and each of our party was quite happy with our selections (plus the green salad gets an A!). The vibes of this restaurant are superb, you begin with walking through the kitchen and there are pictures along the walls. However, the food is mediocre, the Alfredo pasta was too saucy, and you could taste the butter. Additionally, the Caesar salad was overly cheesy and the chocolate chip cookie was neither soft nor crunchy. Instead, the cookie was dry. The service is great, we came in a large group over 20 people, and it was a great experience. Overall, this place is good for the atmosphere but the food is not great.

Centrally located near University Drive, in Palo Alto, this was a quaint but strange Italian Restaurant. We entered the restaurant, through the kitchen, into a wonderfully decorated nostalgic restaurant. We had quite a large party, so we ordered a variety of dishes to eat. The fried calamari was to DIE for!! The Alfredo and Brussel sprouts salad, were a little dry, but all of the other dishes were tasty.

We ordered the chopped antipasti salad, garlic bread, and fried calamari as appetizers; margherita pizza, chicken carbonara, chicken fettuccine alfredo, spicy chicken rigatoni, shrimp fra diavolo, and frutti di mare pasta as mains; and the colossal brownie sundae for dessert. The quality of food is decent, but nothing out of this world since it’s just Americanized Italian food. However, it’s definitely a great place to bring large groups and to celebrate birthdays!

A unique place with huge proportions. A good student dive serving proportions for 4 or more. The eggplant parmegian seemed like it was boiled in olive oil. The corpse was buried in a monotone marinara sauce. The service was prompt even with group of 90 upstairs.

I haven’t been going to Buca di Beppo for years, but most things have changed. Food portion sizes have gotten much smaller. I guess that inflation has really hit them rock bottom that they may have to start cutting costs. I get that inflation happens every year but I didn’t know that it has hit that bad. I know that they have larger sizes for some entrees, but still more expensive. I think that’s why I don’t see people coming to this restaurant anymore. For instance, the pizza used to be twice as big as what they gave us. We can tell when they put one can instead of two to hold it. Another example is when the portion size of the calamari got smaller. I think for a small they just put calamari on the plate. Now it’s put on a pan to make it seem like that it’s a good portion size. The food is still good though, but it just wasn’t the same in terms of portion size especially when prices gone up. I guess that they’re trying to accommodate solo diners but the restaurant started off as a place that serves family-sized entrees. I guess that it’s good news for solo diners and bad news for groups.

I think she was new. It took a while for our drinks to get there. And the food was okay, it tasted like it was frozen.

the bolognese had no tomatoes or tomato sauce in it. the only meat in the sauce was shredded beef. it was basically a beef stew stroganoff. pasta was cooked perfectly though, which is a welcome change from previous visits.

I have been to this location a few times and surprised its still open,(laughed jokingly with the manager) this was a bummer. Our food was not as expected. You have to think about service before ordering everything on the menu in large sizes is absurd. I think we need to introduce an electronic menu system. Don't order online from this place. The dishes have zero sauce. We bought a spaghetti and frutti di mare. It is expensive and you definitely don't get what you pay for.

Bad Italian food. The bread was dry and flavorless, ice cream had worst brownie bits I've ever eaten. Pasta was a nightmare and the server was too busy to get my friend a birthday treat. All in all, I feel nauseous 1 hour after eating and hope I dont get sick. Save yourselves time and money, go to any other restaurant nearby (there's plenty).

FOOD POISONING. It was my second time dining in Buca di Beppo in Palo alto. I went there this previous Thursday around lunchtime with my friend (05/20/2021). We decided to order a small size lasagna since it we both like to eat good. The food seemed fine but the nightmare was about to start. About one hour later of leaving the restaurant I had a really strong headache and I took some medication. 3 hours later, while I was driving, I started sweating and to feel very nauseous, about 15 min later I had to vomit while driving, horrible experience. Later that night , I had náuseas again and around midnight I had a really strong fever of more than 102F and belly pain. Since I was able to recognize the symptoms of food poisoning, I chose to stay home and rehydrate. In the next morning (yesterday), I woke up with more fever and super weak. Today, it’s been 3 days and I’m haven’t been able to eat so far because my stomach won’t take it. Not to mention, my friend who was dining with me, was feeling dizzy the whole day after eating. Luckily, he didn’t get sick as me. I would recommend the restaurant before this experience, but after that, If you don’t want to end up in hospital, don’t even think about going there. Hopefully the management starts to pay more attention to their food quality and freshness.

Avoid totally! Advertised a lunch special — with a big sign out front! — only to deny it when we arrived (saying it was not valid on weekends, though this was never noted)! Any business which lies and plays games should be avoided… period! UPDATE: I received the message below, tried to use the website noted, and it wouldn't work! When I found the new website and attempted to submit feedback, I was told (after three attempts) that the form was "invalid" and that even my feedback could not be submitted properly! I thus reiterate what I have written above and can even emphasize it even more: This restaurant seems to be managed so poorly that even its on-line feedback form will not work... I cannot believe this place :-)

A Disastrous 70th Birthday Celebration at Buca di Beppo (Palo Alto) Rating: ⭐ / 5 I recently booked a banquet dinner for 21 people to celebrate a milestone 70th birthday, and it was hands-down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. If you are planning a special event, stay far away from this location. The Service (or lack thereof): Despite having a large reservation, they assigned only one server to our entire group. Unsurprisingly, the service was nonexistent. Drinks weren't served to everyone, and not once did a staff member check in to see how we were doing. We felt completely abandoned. The Food: For a "family-style" restaurant, the portions were insulting. They served a total of 16 small meatballs for 21 people. The math doesn't even work—nearly a quarter of our party couldn't even have one meatball. It was laughable and embarrassing for us as hosts. The Management: When we brought these issues to the manager, Mohamad Alam, he offered nothing but excuses. He claimed it was a "slow month" and they had "no staffing." As a customer who booked a banquet in advance, their internal staffing issues are not my problem—providing the service I paid for is theirs. The Atmosphere: There was zero effort made for the 70th birthday celebrant. No cake, no greetings, no acknowledgement whatsoever. It felt like eating at a poorly run casual diner rather than a celebration. To top it off, when dessert finally arrived, the table wasn't even cleared of the dirty dinner plates. We were expected to eat dessert surrounded by scraps and used silverware. The Final Straw: We paid for coffee and tea service, but it was never even brought to the table with the dessert. We essentially paid for items we never received. Verdict: Save your money and your memories. This place is disorganized, understaffed, and the management clearly does not care about the quality of your experience.

yikes This place is really subpar service/ambience -We're seated at a booth and one of the random pictures on the wall is a little kid with his finger jammed up his nose; I mean really? -our request to be seated somewhere else is greeted with a rolling of eyes; the restaurant is three quarters empty, I didn't realize it was such an imposition to not want to have a gross picture staring me in the face. fare -It's an Italian restaurant why am I asking you halfway through the entree to bring us bread? -ok great it's a big massive meatball but doesn't taste too good -the baked manicotti had barely any sauce on it it's like it was drizzled along the sides of the dish as an afterthought; this isn't how you serve manicotti, I'm highly doubting any of the staff knows how to even properly pronounce the word. -- Dined at the SF location once, I'm starting to remember now why it's been 20+ years Terrible service, subpar food and a shitty ambience; if you don't know better maybe you think this is some authentic must-do Italian spot, it isn't. avoid.
