Note: I’ve passed this place many times. This was my first time giving it a try, as the bus stop is right outside and I had a 13 minute wait. I only ordered one thing: the roasted chicken. You know, those rotisserie chickens you see rotating in the window of your typical Spanish food restaurant. One thing I’ve learned though: All the chickens rotating in the window of any restaurant look good, but not all taste the same or as good as they look. Such was the case with La Rosa. My two stars is based primarily on the taste (or lack thereof) of the roasted half-chicken I ordered: Lackluster, dry and bland. Only seasoning to be tasted was on skin, did not penetrate down to the meat. I ate at home with a bottle of Texas Pete’s hot sauce by my side to add much needed flavor and the illusion of juiciness. The price is on the high side (a little under $11 with sales tax), but I wouldn’t have minded if the chicken tasted wonderful. It doesn’t taste wonderful and I won’t ever order it again; basically, I’ve enjoyed rotisserie chickens from the supermarket more—at half the price with twice the flavor. While waiting to receive my food, I did see a worker dropping some freshly breaded tenders and those did look like they might be something to come back and try. But only the tenders, as I rely a lot on visual cues when trying food items for the first time. A cursory once over told me that the sides weren’t siding. Also, be mindful if you’re only ordering a la carte: I specifically requested “roasted half chicken” and did not ask for a meal, so when the worker asked “What are your two sides?” although I found the sides visually uninspiring, I prepared to select two, but then I asked “Are the sides included?” The sides are not included. I don’t think it was an intentional sneaky upsell, but just make sure there’s no misunderstanding at the register. If I ever go back, I’ll let you know if the tenders are tendering.

This place used to be one of the best in the area with a maximum charge of $9 per person. All of a sudden, a new management took over and the quality start declining steeply. Now a single order will cost you $13 and it will look like the attached pictures, as if I am eating after someone else! 😖😣 Bottom line, quality, portions and representation should be a priority if the new management wants to stay in business.. and please do not serve customers your leftovers anymore!!

So I was very excited to try this spot out because of the reviews as well as there not being any spots on the island with quality fried chicken. Anyways, I ordered from here for pick up which said in multiple confirmations that it would be ready in 38-45 min. No problem. My husband goes to pick up our food when we see 30 min has passed by. When he arrives our food was just sitting there which we were excited about because it was sooner than stated. When we got home to eat the food was absolutely freezing which tells me that they just left our food there for more than 15 min. Absolutely ridiculous that we were their only customer and they couldn’t call to let us know the food was ready way before the time stated. If they were slammed then I’d understand but he walked in to them just sitting down. Chicken was dry but flavorful which is why I didn’t give only one star. Everything else (mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese, and stuffing) had a tap water flavor, mashed potatoes were more like grits, it was such an odd texture. Corn bread was tasty and soft. All in all would not go there again.

On 12/22/25, I placed an order 9802 at 4:34pm. I called the restaurant at 6:05pm cause we haven’t received the order we placed yet. The lady stated it was out for delivery, I asked how do you know what order this is, the lady ask for my order and said it was out for delivery. I called back at 6:43pm cause it’s been over 2hrs and we still haven’t received our order. The lady stated our order was just made and about to go out for delivery, I stated that what I was told 40 minutes ago that it was out for delivery and it clearly wasn’t, the lady stated they were “busy”. I stated that they didn’t even call to communicate that they were “busy” and or when I did call, you told me “it was out for delivery” and now you’re saying it was just made fresh. When I asked for a manger on duty she stated no one was a manger there. My order finally arrived at 7:10pm, cold and almost 3hrs from when I ordered it. I can’t believe this is the service you are providing to your customers and expect them to return.

Terrible food. We got delivery today (Sunday). Food was so low quality. We love the La Rosa in freehold. The quality of the grilled chicken and hamburger was awful it looked like they got their meat from Restaurant Depot or something. Mind you we go to the Freehold one all the time. The food there is literally completely different and much higher quality and delicious. The only thing that’s the same is their fries. Like seriously the food looks and tastes completely different and like crap here. Waste of money. Seems like this location really went downhill

Old string beans they literally tasted sour like vinegar or something was in you can tell they were just expired or prob were sitting since the morning and gave it to me and my wife to eat we did have to see a doctor after consuming this food uncooked and and old food this is a true disgrace i don’t what happened to this place

My order came wrong, and the worst of it all the chicken was dry, and the only thing I tasted was a dish of salt. So if you have a blood pressure problem, and or you do not eat with much salt do not order from this establishment. I do not use salt, and after a few bites, the only thing I taste is salt. Horrible, and not worth the money!@

I ordered takeout over the phone for the total of $60.21 + $7 tip. The food tasted really good but it came cold and I had to reheat it.They told me over the phone 45 minutes and of course you think its cooking. But no, cold, like what the fluke. They didn't even include the drink in my combo nor the BB sauce. Their service sucks. I have gotten their Pilaf rice before and it was nasty but today it tasted good. So you don't know what your getting and hoping for the best.. When I order with Uber they bring their food hot so I don't get it. Well I'm definitely not ever ordering from here again.

Listen.. I’m writing this in the parking lot lol.. first off I’m not a mal person, I don’t set out to write bad reviews or anything like that but please be weary of this place.. three small sides , two mini biscuits and a “burrito” bowl was 29$..okay but I look up and noticed the bowl wasn’t being prepared, instead it was put into the microwave for about three mins on high. Once he took it out I legit had to ask if there was meat on it because all I saw was cheese beans rice and corn but the kicker was, the bowl which was used to microwave was so hot that it began to deform also the top he put on after he microwaved the food melted. That’s how hot and high he cooked the food..kind of unsafe because god forbid it spilled..I’ve never seen a meal be made in the microwave.

I recently ordered a burger and fries from here after a long day at school and i got my food delivered cold. Mind you i live right on victory which is not far away from the store. The patty was dry and rubbery and some of the fries were hard. When i called a complaint since i couldn’t even eat the food i was told that “she made it herself and she knows how she made it so there should be no problem” she then gave the phone to a guy after i wanted a refund OR another meal delivered and offered to give back the meal i had firstly. The guy said he wanted to come and see the food and said the food is not cold and tried to make it like I over exaggerated lmao. but he offered to take it and give me a refund. Here are the photos
