One of the best slices to get in the HV. Thin crust. Well flavored dough, quality cheese and understated but well balanced tomato sauce. Excellent!!

Excellent service and really good food. Had eggplant parmigiano . Wonderful sauce and the eggplant was thinly sliced. Had a choice of pastas. Good salad though I always have to take out any raw onion. Generous pour of wine.

The chicken is 11/10. Wife and I stopped in for dinner. Our check was under $20. Can't even get dinner for two at Wendy's for under $20. And this was much, much better

It says on their website something like when you walk in the door you're family...and that is exactly how I felt. I ordered takeout when we were in town and I went a bit early for pickup. I talked with two of the people, I'm assuming one of the owners and her son?...at any rate, EVERYTHING was great!! Garden salad, two XL pizzas, vegetarian sub, and the small loaf of bread that came with my salad. The cheese pizza was very good, but my favorite was the Italian sausage and mushrooms!! Fantastic!

Walked into slice of Italy at 9:20, they close at 10, they treated us like long lost family . Showered my hungry kids with attention and (cake). Great pizza , great staff ,Great burgers too.

Take a 1/2 step back in time, forget those chains and get some real food served by real authentic folks who talk and are truly nice and welcoming. Food reminds me of the Bronx Italian places from the 70s... if you are looking for fancy and chain stuff, move along. If you want great food and a great price point, here's the place to go. Pizza, calzones, pasta, apps all awesome. Drinks were fast and cold. If we ever pass through will stop again!

Best Italian food I've had in ages

This restaurant is definitely a place you need to visit when in Kingston. Wait staff will leave you laughing and they’re very willing to make your dining experience memorable. My personal favorite is Beth, she has the ability to make you laugh even when you are having a bad day. The specialty cannoli fillings they frequently serve are to die for. Food is fantastic and if you have dietary restrictions they bend over backwards to accommodate you.

I chose A Slice of Italy for my wedding catering and I do not regret that decision at all. My late father knew the owner personally and she made sure my wedding day was taken care of and made it absolutely perfect. The food was delicious and I got so many compliments. Thank you so much for taking care of me. I know my dad was smiling down that day to see the village I had to make my day perfect.

Everything about this place is Great. The pizza is excellent. On wensday, they do stuffed pizza absolutely delicious. They have round Sicilian pizza that is also amazing. It's a family oriented place and the people who work there are great. It has a nice dining room and a bar. 2 thumbs up for this place.

After some shopping we went looking for a restaurant to have lunch and found this very cute place. Since we both decided to have Italian food, this was the spot and I'll say personally it was the best!!! Great place and I'll definitely go again.

I had a wonderful dinner prepared by the owner himself. I ordered eggplant rolletini and instead of pasta they prepared a side dish of sauteed spinach and garlic. It was the best I have ever had. Beth our waitress was so friendly and willing to accommodate our requests.

A Slice of Italy is a family home restaurant. Everything's freshly cooked right on the spot, and even their garlic knots are freshly cooked. It is on the strip in Kingston Lake Katrine, and it is the cheapest, best quality, home-cooked food you will get on that entire strip.

Busy dinner time (Fri evening) was a long wait to pick-up takeout with difficulty finding a parking spot. But aside from that, pizza is awesome and the staff is terrific. Never disappointed in the food.

Not only do they do Italian perfect but the corned beef and cabbage is the best I ever had! On this St. Patrick’s Day I got two orders..1 for tonight and another for leftovers! Everything was soooo good. This is the best place for all food and the people are so nice!

Stopped in on a hunch, of a routinely packed parking lot. I was greeted at the door by three or more genuinely friendly wonderful people. One of which, Marine, who is the owner. After a lovely chat left I with an arm wrenching bag of hot food. The clams and linguine is perfect. Noodle to shell could not possibly be better. The lasagna was hot and gratifying. Soup salad and garlic bread completed the this meal which only was like 30 bucks. Im stuffed, happy, and coming back. This is my first review, it was that good of an experience

What a great little spot!! Sorry the pizza was too good for our group so didn't get any pictures at all lol.... Our whole group enjoyed everything we ordered from the antipasto salad to the fig pizza... The service was friendly as possible... Strongly recommend giving them a visit and next time we're in the area we'll be back!!

The food is decent! But I loved the sarcasm and smart ass personality of Tammie! She just makes me laugh and is fun. Her puns are priceless! Never had a better time being abused in a funny way at a restaurant before! She is way too awesome to be here with that personality.

For upstate, this is definitely a slice of Brooklyn. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. Pizza is 9.2 on Barstool if Dave were to rate the slice. The lasagna is out of this world. Worth the stop over after shopping in Kingston.

Slice of Italy is a great place to get some good food at a decent price while supporting a local independent restaurant. I enjoy going there for lunch during my workday and am never disappointed when I do. Their chicken parmigiana is particularly good.

Stopped in last minute for Valentine's Day. And we got a great split pizza that wasn't even on the menu. My half was breaded eggplant, and her side was fresh garlic, onion broccoli. For dessert, we had the chocolate mouse cake and fresh canolis! Our server was so sweet and accommodating and helped us make our decision an easy one! We will definitely be back!

I have been wanting to try A Slice of Italy for awhile now and I'm so glad we finally did! It definitely exceeded my expectations! I'm not surprised this place is in the top 10 Italian restaurants in upstate NY. Eggplant parmesan melts in your mouth and do not miss the Tiramisu. These taste like family recipes (they are! It's a sweet older couple who keep it running), and the servers are always friendly. Pizza is top-notch and the decor will remind you of pizza hut restaurants in the 1980s.

Old school feeling Italian restaurant. I think it's some of the best pizza around. Thin crust, super crispy and no flop. Just the right amount of toppings without being overwhelming. Pastas, soups, breads and wings are decent. I have had better, but they were still really good. Tammy was our server and she was amazing! Super friendly and easy to get along with. Great service and a pleasure to talk too and joke around with.

(Felt like they actually wanted my business!). Caitlyn was great and guided me through the menu. It was amazing. We went for our anniversary dinner after reading an article that had them in the top 10 upstate NY Italian restaurants. Knowing upstate is a large area, I was thrilled they were in our backyard. They did not disappoint. The eggplant melted in the mouth, the portions were generous, prices reasonable and the staff were wonderful. An enjoyable experience all around and we look forward to taking the family back to our new "favorite".

Wow! Another great find. Recommended by our hotel and right next door. Super friendly service as we were seated right away. Ordered a bottle of wine and settled in. Loosen your belt cause this was a good one. The salad was delish and the bread fresh and nice crunchy crust. Ravioli was wonderful and marinara sauce perfect accompaniment. The star of this show was the veal parmigiana. Cut it with a fork and melted in your mouth. Penne pasta was perfect Aldente and marinara sauce here as well. So much food. Walked out stuffed. Prices very reasonable. Get your Italian fix right here. #stevensleavin.

I can’t give this restaurant a higher rating! They were the only place open during a snow storm in an area with a ton of restaurants. The place was slammed and they were able to make a great meal in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and the food was outstanding. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was very filling and had great flavor. The staff was also super friendly and courteous during the chaos of the storm.

A new location has allowed them to serve more people than before. The proprietors are friendly and remind me of our family restaurant back home. Their margherita pizza is the best I've had around here. All the basics of an Italian American menu are offered as well as some specialties unique to them. A nice bar makes for good single seating.

Normally this would be a 5 star review cause we love this place and majority of the time they are excellent however today was a an off day. Margherita Pizza over cooked, hard crust and I think they forgot the fresh mozzarella or they barely used any. I guess we all are entitled to one bad day. Either way I still recommend them just maybe not the Margherita pizza. I'll go with my usual the next time.

I travel for a living and eat at a lot of restaurants. Before coming here, i read the reviews. Most were good, some bad. You are never going to find a place that doesn't have a bad review because some people are never happy. I will say i was happy with A Slice of Italy. The place was very busy for a Tuesday night. It might be because they are supporting a local fundraiser or because the food is good. But a busy restaurant is a good indicator the food is good. And it is. I had fried ravioli as an appetizer knowing my food might take a little while because they were so busy. My entree was meatball parm. Besides it being huge, it was very good. And like i said, they were hosting a local fundraiser. So if you want good food by good people who are local and support their community, then give this place a go. You won't be disappointed.

The staff are very polite. The food is consistent. Disappointing that the calamari has come off of the menu. It was very good! Dinner arrived to the table only moments after the appetizer, so we asked them to slow down. Sensed annoyance but staff did honor our request. Would definitely go back and this time define expectations to set the pace.

This review is colored by a bad service experience. Lots of little service errors when the restaurant wasn’t even close to busy. Eggplant Parmesan was good, garlic knots were good (but they, as an appetizer, arrived after salads and 30 seconds before entrees). My wine glass was empty for 20 minutes without anyone checking in. If this is one of the 10 best Italian restaurants in outstate NY, I feel sorry for outstate NY!

A great family-friendly restaurant with plenty of options to choose from and friendly waitresses. My husband and I have visited several times with our daughter and enjoy going here. The pizza is not the absolute best I've ever had, but it is good, as are many of the other items we have tried. A nice environment for family or friend get-togethers.

Slice of Italy was a slice of heaven after a long day on the road. We were staying at a hotel across the street and arrived around 9PM and asked the front desk person if there was a good place to eat close by - she recommended Slice of Italy. We ventured across the street and ordered the lasagna (it was about 30 mins before closing so we didn’t want to make the staff work any harder than they already had and figured lasagne was already done) and salad - which when split was plenty after a long day on the road. Good news is that at 9:30PM the lasagna was piping hot and the sauce was really good. Our server had the kitchen split the lasagna so we didn’t need to. Nice place for good food at a great place - our bill for lasagna, bread, and salad was less than $20. Can’t be beat when in the neighborhood.

Went with family who are regulars. I found the food to be quite good. Ended up needing salt and some garlic (both provided on the table) and the food was perfect. Would come again. Chicken Parm and chicken francaise were both enjoyable. Big portion sizes, could easily share or plan on having leftovers.

Food is very good. Nice atmosphere compared to some pizza places which can be too cafeteria looking. Waitresses are very friendly and efficient. We bought a small cake for a birthday dinner with us and waitress offered to put it in refrigerator until we were ready for it.

Food was delicious and reasonably priced. We had the margherita pizza. It was fabulous and light. We will definitely go back!!

Fairly good Italian cuisine at very reasonable prices. Welcoming décor, including strings of lights on the ceiling in the Italian flag's colors. Friendly waitstaff but confused hostess. Two tables al fresco. Vestibule with potted plants, coin-operated arcade games, a vending machine for candy, and a counter for the pick-up of "contactless" orders by telephone. Clean bathrooms and convenient parking out front. Exquisite desserts and a full bar.

Ok ish food but definitely not authentic Italian by any means. Stars because they were really nice and service was fast and comfortable setting but chicken Marsala sauce was literally the same type that Campbell’s has at the grocery store and the mozz sticks were the same type every restaurant has pre made from frozen. Not necessarily bad but not good either.

The food is pretty good and the front workers are super nice! I came here for takeout and overall my experience was alright. However, I saw one of the chefs inappropriately grabbing and touching the much younger female workers. Gross and inappropriate. They need to find better employees. I asked one of the girls and learned his name was Eddy. Stay away from Eddy if you eat here.

This was our second time here as we've read several positive reviews and have been told by friends that we should give "A slice of Italy" another chance, cuz our first visit was just "Okay". I ordered the Veal Parmesan over spaghetti which once again was so-so, veal crust wasn't crispy, tomato sauce was bland/tasteless, and my Wife ordered the chicken parmesan...same story... chicken not crispy, overcooked pasta accompanied with tasteless sauce. Also our waitress was M.I.A. most of the time and we waited awhile for drink refills. I cannot recommend this restaurant!

This was one of my favorite places to come after work, I’d drive from across town. But the last two times I had two different awful servers. One never came back to check after she dropped off my food , so I never got a soda refill or another napkin I wanted. Tonight I asked for an ice water and a coke. Guess I was lucky I got the coke at least!! And I had barely started my food and she asked if I’d want a box to take some home. I only got a sub. Caitlyn is the only server I recommend. If I could get her I’d go even more often. She’s a 5 star person!! If I really want something it’s going to be to go.

Went to dinner with my parents and significant other here last night. The service was extremely prompt and polite. All of the servers were kind and sat us immediately. Our server was the sweetest person and made sure to check on us several times throughout the meal. Although the food wasn't amazing, we would probably come back to try something else because of the service alone. The managers must know what they're doing to keep such a friendly staff.

I've been going there since they opened, they always have good food, but I've noticed the prices vary for the same thing at different times. Last time I was there I paid thirty two dollars for two chicken cheese steak subs. That's sixteen dollars per. It's too much for a sandwich. Sorry I feel like they are taking advantage. To bad. I was very disappointed as I've seen some good reviews. We ordered shrimp cocktail, the shrimp and sauce were room temperature. The Greek salad had no onions, tomatoes and they had no Greek dressing. Nachos barley had meat or cheese. The pizza was just ok and the chicken parm dinner was two large pieces but placed on top of one another ( if you wanted any cheese you had to eat both together, making it to thick) and placed in the center of the spaghetti, not to the side if the plate, Nothing great. The waitress however was newer and very nice, we did not say anything as she was new and my boyfriend does not like to make a stink.

I had the chicken and mushroom angel hair pasta with beef and barley soup and calamari. The calamari was small pieces and very bland, which turned out to be the theme of the night. The beef and barley soup came with bread, the bread was okay but I didn't eat the soup even after adding some salt because it was very bland and had an odd flavor. Then the pasta... very oily, added parmesan to try and get some flavor but... no. There was not much chicken and again, the flavor was blah. The price was reasonable and the young ladies behind the bar were nice hence two stars instead of one. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and I will not be back.

After trying this place for the first time I have to say I am a little disappointed. Our waitress was horrible! Other waitresses actually helped us more than she did. It took about 20 minutes to get our drinks from the bar. Finally got our drinks, and a while later our salad and bread was delivered to us. For our meal to be served it was and hour and 15 minutes. I understand everything is made fresh to order, but that is a bit excessive for shrimp scampi and sausage with peppers parmesan. The food was decent though. We will give it another chance, hoping we just stopped in on a bad night.

Every waitress and cook were working hard and we could see the place was busy , but it took around 20mins to get our order in and another hour to get it not at the Same Time . The food here just is not very good. I tried the lasagna first. It had no ricotta cheese in it and tasted like a basic spaghetti. I decided to give it another try and I ordered fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. I was shocked by the price tag, and even more disappointed by the taste. It tasted like noodles in half and half, no cheese at all. I live in the area and I really wanted this to be my go to place, but I will not eat there again.

We placed an order for boneless chicken wing and instead got chicken cutlets with buffalo sauce?.?.?.? We will never be ordering for here.

This place has amazing staff and inside is very nice. Now we have that out the way, we ordered wings and cheese pizza, wings and garlic bread with cheese. I think my expectations were very high because I was left disappointed. Their pizza is not New York style pizza it looks and taste like frozen pizza. Wings were not breaded at all. Just thrown in deep fryer and then quickly tossed in a sauce that didn’t stick. Idk what I was eating. And garlic bread with cheese was ok. Wish they used shredded mozzarella instead of white American cheese slices that virtually see. Now that’s ghettto. Anyways I’m sure other food on their menus is amazing but someone from Italy should call this place and ask them to take Italy out of the name

To start, I usually genuinely enjoy this establishments food when I order takeout. It was ordinary Italian-American fare. The people at the takeout counter seemed friendly and genuine. Unfortunately, the dine-in experience was below average and the vibe was generally uncomfortable. The inside was decorated like a nursing homes Rec room. The floor was dirty and the atmosphere was uninviting. I went with a couple family members to have a pizza and relax one evening. We were rushed throughout the entire experience… It took all of 30 mins for us to order and eat then be rushed out the door. The older lady waitressing for our table was quite rude. Every time we said thank you she would not respond and every request we had felt like we were a complete bother to her. She seemed to have an attitude the entire time. The other waitressing staff was the same way. Near the end of our meal the bill was dropped at our table without a word and we got up to pay and leave. I waited nearly 5 minutes after being ignored by the staff. I then proceeded to try to pay at the other counter near the door and they all suddenly noticed and acted like I was trying to dine and dash. The staff was rolling their eyes and whispering to each other while I waited to finally pay, making me feel extremely awkward. I will not be giving any more of my hard earned money to this establishment, takeout or not.
