Fried chicken Sammie was fantastic. Loaded fries blew me away, so so soooo good. The burger was a touch greasy but I'd order again absolutely.

Awkward, but accessible entrance. The burger was phenomenal. Single was enough. Got the high notes of shake shack, but done local. Amazing pickles. Mexican coke too!

Just tried 605 Smash for the first time and it was SO good. I got the double cheeseburger and a pimiento chicken sandwich—both were amazing. The food tasted super fresh and the prices weren’t bad at all for what you get. The place has a cool, relaxed vibe too, which made it even better. I’m definitely gonna be back!

Made me feel like I was a kid again. Great food at a reasonable price and bringing more life to downtown. I know we have a lot of fancy food in the area but it was nice to have something simple with flavor. Highly recommend when you had a long day and just want to indulge. Kind staff too! Doesn't hurt to keep it simple.

The chili on the hotdogs was a good amount and bomb. We ordered pickup and were late to pick the order up but everything was still hot. The burger bun got a little soggy but we picked it up late so probably on us. Would definitely go back to try the regular chicken sandwich and the new specials! The staff were so nice and accommodating as well.

Burger was amazing this is a bare bones cheeseburger no lettuce or other other frivolous things. Just beef onions sauce and cheese crispy edges potato bun. So that being said WHOA!! I inhaled this thing. Price was affordable for 2025. I got a double and my wife had the single. We shared the chees fries, the house made cheese sauce was awsome nicely emulsified no complex seasoning just enough to elevate it. Fries where crispy and done well. Now the service was lightning fast maybe under 5 minutes. I will be going back for sure. And now im curious about you other spot.

My Mother and I really enjoyed our visit . We ordered the special, the “ crabby patty” . We both agreed , the bun was soft , yet didn’t get soggy, lettuce wasn’t romaine, but buttery , white onion, tomato , pickles , special sauce . The burger was very flavorful . The fries had a slight coating for that perfect crunch . The chef came out to greet us and serve our lunch , a kind gesture we appreciated.

I must say, as a 41 year old? I WISH all burgers were like this, the people are awesome. Great atmosphere, they have an electronic juke box… The food is GREAT! Stop by and see yourself, excellent all-around!

Ok get ready cause I'm about to be all sorts of detailed.. and I've gotten to that, "people listen to me more" phase of these reviews! Local celebrity ya!! No just kidding, I just like to be fat, eat and review. So, my smash burger experiences began with my own creation, followed by a local restaurant out of town, Herbie's, Sonic and lastly but certainly not least, 605 Smash! I will be honest like I always am, I was expecting to go ham sammich like the fatboy I am, and I was happy with what I received overall. We ordered the same thing, a double smash burger and then shared the loaded fries (cheese, onions, and special sauce). First off the quality of the meat was excellent, the meat was meating! I also loved the new school American cheese, and if you grew up like I did, you know that "special" cheese we were able to get set the bar high 😂😆. Oh if our young taste buds could "hear" us now... Anyways the patty was on point and the cheese was on point. I enjoyed the fries for the most part. Loved that they kept their integrity and didn't flop all around, and weren't soggy. Now this is me being transparent, the special sauce to me was not something I enjoyed. And I love to make condiment concoctions with the best of them, if you know Vin Vin ... I'm a dipper!! Overall, 605 Smash gets a 4.3 from me because the freshness of that patty, the cheese and the integrity of those fries. The service was also quick and the guy at the counter was very friendly. Vin Vin approves. Go there and tell em I sent ya, I'm tryna see something. Deuces

I think it’s a pretty good burger. It’s better than Herbie’s if you are in the midtown area. Pretty greasy which is plus for some and for others a minus. I enjoyed the burger. Fries were nothing special. But I’m glad to see a new burger place in this part of town. Well done!

I was in Albany for 3 weeks & I wanted to try their burgers & let’s say their burgers are phenomenal but their cheese fries to me & the people I was with were not it. I asked for extra seasoning on the smash & they didn’t give it. But over all the burgers were a hit!

Asked to use the restroom as nowhere in the area had public restrooms I am currently 9 months pregnant and was denied bathroom access. I was told to go to the park or next store to Bowled. Bowled was extremely kind to allow me to use their restroom which stated employees only. Because they do not have a public restroom however they did confirm that next store had a public restroom as they are a restaurant. I was also told by the “staff in smashed that it is a restaurant. So do public restaurants not have public bathrooms. !????

The chicken sandwich was an absolute salt bomb. Inedible. The double was tasty, but presented as a greasy slop pile in foil wrapping. Not what I was expecting from 605. Especially for $26.

Not paying $16 for just one chicken sandwich with cheese and It doesn't even come with a side of fries prices made me walk right out the joint.

I entered the restaurant politely and simply asked to use the restroom. What should have been a normal and human interaction quickly escalated into an uncomfortable and deeply offensive encounter. Instead of being treated with basic respect and decency, I was met with hostility, suspicion, and a level of rudeness that felt clearly rooted in racial bias. The tone, body language, and dismissive attitude of the owners made it very clear that I was unwelcome—not because of anything I said or did, but simply because of who I am. Their actions were not just impolite—they were discriminatory. It was a painful reminder that racism is still alive in places where all people should feel safe and respected. I left feeling hurt, humiliated, and angry. No one should ever have to feel less than human because of the color of their skin. This kind of treatment is unacceptable anywhere, but especially in a public business that serves a diverse community. I hope this review serves as a wake-up call to the owners and a warning to others. Until meaningful changes are made in the way customers are treated—regardless of race, background, or appearance—I cannot recommend or support this establishment. Racism has no place in our communities, and it certainly has no place in customer service.
