Opinions de Xiang Xiang Noodle Sunnyvale
I was in Sunnyvale for the Super Bowl working at the stadium nearby, and I ended up going to Xiang Xiang Noodle three times in one week, that should tell you everything you need to know. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel like a regular right away. The noodles are clearly homemade, with that perfect chewy texture, and the Sichuan dishes are the real deal. bold, authentic, and properly spicy. The dan dan noodles were a standout, and the salt and pepper eggplant was addictive. On top of all that, the portions are generous and the prices are more than fair. If you’re anywhere near Sunnyvale and craving legit Sichuan noodles, this spot is a must. Easy 5 stars.
Located in a non-descript business plaza in Sunnyvale, this small hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant has an impressive large menu, and everything we tasted was authentic, fresh, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked. Generous portions at reasonable prices. The spicy Sichuan Dan Dan noodles is a must-try. Fast and friendly service. Large free parking lot.
If you are ever looking for a restaurant that feels like home cooking but with a punch this is it. All the spicy dishes are aromatic spicy, and has that mala kicked to it. Non-spicy dishes are also perfect not too salty. They have the perfect amount of chew and freshness and all of their soup and noodle dishes.
I walk in, greeted enthusiastically by one of the two workers, a nice lady, not fancy inside but cosy, and genuine. Huge portions for not much, with an extensive menu. Also really, really good. Ate too fast to take a pic, but let the empty plates speak for themselves:
Feels like home! We ordered - dan dan noodle - the egg fried toona sinensis - stir fried shradde cabbage - seasoned beef shank - pork spareribs with house special sauce We really like the Dan Dan noodle, cabbage and egg fried; the appetizer beef shank and spareribs taste good too they rank below the other three 😘
Xiang Xiang Noodle delivers a cozy, satisfying bowl that feels both comforting and thoughtfully crafted. The balance of rich and tasty broth, bouncy noodles, and good quality toppings makes it a spot worth a visit. Food and flavor • The noodles have an excellent chew and spring, with options like knife-cut and round styles that hold the broth beautifully without getting soggy. • The broths are deeply savoury and clearly simmered for hours, with layers of flavor rather than just salt or spice • Side dishes such as cucumber salad, beef tendon, and various small plates round out the meal and show the same attention to seasoning and texture. Ambiance and service • The interior has a simple, warm, and homey feel, with sturdy wooden chairs and an atmosphere that leans more toward a neighborhood favorite than a flashy chain. • Service is friendly and welcoming; staff check in often, offer recommendations, and make first-time guests feel like regulars. • Even when it is busy, food comes out in good time and the staff stays attentive without being intrusive. Overall impression • Xiang Xiang Noodle stands out for its combination of authentic flavors, handmade noodles, and a relaxed, comfortable setting that invites repeat visits. • It is an easy place to recommend to friends who love noodle soups, as well as to anyone looking for a hearty, satisfying meal on a cool day.
Very kind owners. Gave me an extra large portion of Dan Dan Mian too, which is hands down the best I’ve had before. They even said that if I don’t like it, they’ll give me a different bowl of noodles for free, but if I do I give them 5 stars—suffices to say that I did haha Oh and entertainment was included—he did a handstand. Ask him to do it
Absolutely love this noodle shop! The flavors are authentic, the noodles are fresh and perfectly cooked, and the portions are generous. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Definitely one of the best spots for a comforting bowl of noodles—I’ll be coming back often!
TL;DR - Salt and Pepper Eggplant. Get it and take the bet. A friend found this spot through social media, and we decide to give it a shot. When we arrived, the place was quiet with plenty of seating and a super convenient parking lot. It’s run by a Chinese man and woman who take turns greeting, cooking, and serving, giving a very mom-and-pop vibe in the best way. As we placed our orders, the owner confidently recommended the Salt and Pepper Eggplant - saying that if we didn’t enjoy it, he would comp the item. We couldn’t resist a fun bet, and so we shook hands on the deal. We lost that bet, but we felt like winners. The eggplant was crisp, flavorful, and perfectly fried without being too greasy. The chopped sautéed jalapeños added just the right kick. That’s important, because we quickly found out how much spicier they can go here with the other eats. I loved it, but my friend less so. If you’re spice sensitive, I would err on the side of mild. Beyond the eggplant, we tried a range of noodle dishes, including the dan dan, knife-shaved, and sautéed oil noodles. Most were solid, but the eggplant stole the show. One last thing: when you go up to pay, ask about the photo next to the register. You might hear a funny story or two.
Authentic Chinese noodle shop with knife-cut handmade noodles that offer plenty of options. Try their beef sirloin soup for some delicious broth with Szechuan peppers, but most of their noodle dishes are good. I did find their sauteed string beans to be a little too salty, but otherwise, it wasn't too bad. The grandparent-like staff are warm and friendly and treat you like their grandchildren. Note that there is a 10% discount if you pay with cash.
service was kind of on the meh side -- the owner insisted on us trying the cucumber salad (we had no thoughts of ordering it at first and so we didn't ask for it) and told us we didn't have to pay if it wasn't good, but i mean how could we not pay if it was brought out to our table? it was pretty tasty but nothing too special. i don't really like that they essentially somewhat forced us to try the cucumber salad, i'm sure they knew beforehand that 99% of the time people are gonna be like "yeah it's good!". anyway the fried eggplant was really delicious and perfectly cripsy and the noodles were a bit too thick for our liking but the flavor was decent. the prices are quite high though, and it's not like the portions are that big, so perhaps re think before you come here!
