The girl who took care of me gave me excellent service!! She brought everything right to me. This place is kind of pricey but the food was good and hot. Almost 4 dollars for a small dipped cone!
Great food and great service seating inside or outside, along with a convenient drive-thru. But lunch, dinner or whole ice cream cakes available. Always delicious food brought to you hot and quick with a friendly smile. I always stop when I'm in the area.
As Dairy Queens go, this one is really nice. Clean. Modern. With a spacious outdoor patio to enjoy your cone or Sundae. There's a drive-thru option too.
Great food - also there was this delicious drink called “the Coca Cola drink” which was quite yummy indeed. If they sold it outside of this restaurant I would be first in line to purchase a nice big bottle of “the Coca Cola drink”.
Great for ice cream or burgers. Large variety on menus. Many people came to eat. It was a perfect night but their mini Gulf was closed. That was a bad decision on management. They could have made more money.
On Sunday, Sept. 25th, I placed an order on the drive thru for a large onion rings and a medium french fries. The cashier was very courteous and smiled at me. She gave me my order, thanked me and waved her goodbye. As I pulled off I noticed something that I haven't seen before in my life. I noticed how she covered the food in such a protective manner so that the condiments wouldn't touch it. This is a big deal for me because in light of COVID and germs that can get on condiments during storage. She put thought into securing my food. I was so appreciative of her thoughtfulness, so I returned to the share my appreciation and asked her name. Her name is JESSICA. PS: The food was hot and fresh!
This is a great place for a fast-food lunch! The staff are great! They even bring your food to your table for you! I eat here every week.
Saturday evening, little more busy than expected in drive thru. This location extended the eat out arrangements to other side of parking - nice move. Quality of food and service were good as always.
Always delivers my cheese curds and ice cream in a timely manner. Freindly staff and delish. What else can I ask for? Actually jk, one time there was this new kid working and trying to order my curds and ice cream was like talking to a brick wall. Watch out for the new kids there but they always have good employees on the drive through (shout out to nose ring guy) so I still have to give 5 stars!
I've been here about three times this summer and will gladly keep coming out of my way. The staff is always friendly and go out of their way to make the experience positive. The building is always clean and the food is good and reasonably priced.
Good chicken fingers & bbq sauce; great fries; good raspberry iced tea; a nice little sundae to top off the meal 🥳
As of April 4, the (who I assume is the manager) was very polite and hard working and made my lunch great. She was on top of things there and kept it running. Resteraunt was clean and the cotton candy blizzards were good.
Seems to be the only fast food restaurant where staff seems to care about customer service. Made me nostalgic. I thought gravy came with the tender basket? Is that just a southern thing? Anyway, wish there was a closer one to Tolland.
Really good - inexpensive - food. Clean dining room and friendly staff that will bring food to your table after ordering. The restaurant is new and updated, with a nice outdoor seating area during the summer. There is a whole wall of freezers with cakes and other frozen treats. There is a mini-golf course behind the restaurant that makes this a good place to stop for a couple hours on a summer day for an inexpensive adventure with a date, or your family.
It’s honestly the nicest DQ, I’ve been to. The restaurant is very clean. The employees were very nice. Ample seating, was nice to sit outside to eat, and didn’t have the next table on top of us. Food and ice cream was good. Fries were hot and crispy. Burger and kids meal were good. Got blizzards for dessert, and they were just as good. They bring the food to you after you order, and they still serve the blizzard upside down, well flip it upside down to show you then hand to you normally.
Great grilled chicken wraps, the best I've had. Friendly service and atmosphere. Of course there ice cream is the best. Always get my Birthday cakes there. The manager and the staff are very friendly and go out of their way to please you. I would rate them with 5 stars.
Fun family place to enjoy a meal. I had their cheeseburger meal. Very good fast service and friendly. I don't have fast food but a few times a year. It's worth it here
Really impressed with both the food and service. We don't have DQ so weren't expecting much, just a quick lunch, but both the sandwiches and chicken tenders were very good and fresh, and the sauces were delicious. Ice cream was also great as expected, and offering a small size was very much appreciated with young kids in the car.
Great food and great service thank you
Dairy Queen is now my go to ordering restaurant. There food is super tasty and fills me and my kids up on just one simple meal. Although it’s a little pricey, the food is worth it. Their ice cream (blizzards and cones) are great for when me and my kids and there friends are bike riding or are playing in the heat and just need a quick refreshing item to cool the down. Now when I ask my kids what fast food restaurant they want to eat at, Dairy Queen is their top choice.
Awesome customer service, staff was very friendly and polite. went on a tuesday morning and was cordially greeted by one of the cashiers, never caught his name but he had curly hair and said struck up a conversation with me about my red sox shirt. the food came out in less than two minutes and he made sure i had everything i needed. the rest of the staff was also very friendly and welcoming, i hope to have many similar experiences at this location, it’s way better than manchester
Everyone was polite. They had food ready very quickly and it was very good.
Both my husband and I are from Southwick and we come down this way especially for your establishment. The food is wonderful. Served hot all the time. Plenty of fries soda is great. Everything is really wonderful. The fish sandwich was wonderful. Immaculate. The place is immaculate. The bathrooms very clean, and the service is very pleasurable.
For 6 chicken strips 2 slices of buttered bread and enough fries paired with a drink. The 2 dollar coupon brings it to 12 bucks-ish with no restaurant wait time either. I find dairy queen to be a nice inbetween fast food stop
Getting pricey, but I guess that's the case everywhere. Portions for the tenders meal is very good and my burger was not big, but appropriately sized. Also, for a burger that was jammed full of stuff it was very well put together, kudos to the staff. Also, 3 meals and 2 blizzards were ready quicker than expected, and they're not too stingy with the sauce.
It's a DQ, so the ice cream is good. This location does not scan the DQ app so you don't accumulate points. If it did, it would probably be the best DQ in the area.
The staff is always friendly! The food can sometimes be cold, my cheese wasn't completely melted.
The staff were great. We all know their ice cream is great but we went this time to try the burger. It was a 4 out of 5.
We enjoy the blizzards. The seasonal cotton candy one is delicious! Looking forward to other flavors. DQ is fun after their sports
Clean dine in experience, good food, fast. If you want a quick bite to eat and are tired of the same old fast food, this place gives you (I believe) better quality products. I've tried their burgers, franks, onion rings fries and ice cream and I believe they are superior to other fast food joints (at this location).
Seasonal blizzards are best! I hadn’t been to a DQ in ages and I was not disappointed. Well maybe a little bit because while it was good, I remember it being a lot better ( that was also 13+ years ago) I digress, stick to your guns and get the blizzard you are wanting. Yes, I’m talking to you who are reading these reviews, go ahead, have a large one, you deserve it.
Stopped there today and ordered a small hot fudge sundae at drive thru. When he handed me the order there was soft serve and fudge sauce. I asked him where the whipped cream and cherry was and his responce was, "we don't have cherries and whipped cream is extra," I told him no cherry or whipped cream so it's not a sundae. I should have thrown it on the ground and drove away but I paid and str it but that's the last time they'll see me there.
I love stopping at DQ for an ice cream! Their ice cream is sweet enough and not too sugary for me. At this store, I was served by very pleasant and polite staff. Their products aren't pricey too which makes it an ideal place to bring the family for a treat. I also like the fact that this store sells ice cream cakes as well. Plus you get to have the option use their drive thru service or sit out doors and indulge. There's ample parking (handicap accessible) and some flavors of ice cream to try. Definitely a must stop place!
Yum! Edit: After our meal tonight, my girlfriend got a blizzard, and a girl delivered it to our table. Everything was normal and then she said “The person who made this wanted you to know it was made with lots of love” and she just said “Thanks?” We assumed it was a girl and moved on. Then, a guy and the girl who delivered it started loudly debating in the back whether I was her boyfriend or her brother, and we decided it was time to finish our meal in the parking lot. Super uncomfortable, but we love it here, so we’ll probably be back (maybe a to-go order next time though).
Offering soft-serve ice cream products, grilled burgers and fries, as well as pre-packaged cakes and ice cream bars, there is something for all. Their extended hours are great for catching a snack after a movie or shopping. But not sure when the frier is shut off, just after 8:30pm our fries were cold, not even heat lamp warm. 🙁 And it was $17 for two small blizzards and a large fries 💸.
My ice cream was good. My husband asked for a fish sandwich, which he said was good and also a hot fudge sundae, there was hardly any fudge (and it was on one side, no nuts or cherry). It was very loud in there due to a group of about 12 teenagers.
Good ice cream, but a slow drive through. I attribute this to offering food and ice cream. If a person in the line orders food, that can really big down the flow. Super nice service makes up for the wait.
We went for dessert after dinner on Mother's Day. I usually go to the Dairy Queen in Manchester. It's a bit nicer in South Windsor but you pay for the difference and don't get the same service. Manchester one is friendlier. I just went through the drive thru for some ice cream after dinner got a kids cone, 2 mini blizzards and 1 small shake and came out to $15. Was blessed that the car in front of us paid $5 toward our total 😊 Over all it took about 8 minutes in drive thru to get ice cream on a rainy night. Not a real good reason for there to be such a delay. Would return for the convenience if in the area but if I had a choice I would go to the Manchester one on Hartford Rd.
It's good for the kids, a quick meal with an ice cream. The staff was friendly and prompt. But we almost slipped on something spilled on the floor and my husband's crispy chicken salad was laughable. It was the size of his hand or a Wendy's side salad and only had lettuce, tomatoes and chicken. He was very frustrated. My Honey BBQ tenders were good but for the $8.79 with a drink and no ice cream I could have gone to any other restaurant and gotten a chicken tender platter.... So just an okay visit...
Went inside to get a cone. The place was just overwhelmed. You had two people making the orders, two people working the registers and one hostess. I was six deep waiting to get my one order. People who already ordered meals for coming up to the counter looking for the desserts. The person who was delivering the ice cream and handing out orders was just completely oblivious to what was going on. They definitely need more service. Wind up waiting 20 minutes just to get served in ice cream cone. People were complaining in line. One group had just finished your mail waiting for the ice cream they went up to the counter to ask where it was. The person cannot even answer the question of how long it would take to get the ice cream. Hopefully, ownership will make some corrections in the service if not it's going to cost them business in the future.
Food: Good, simple and not too expensive Setting: Nice, clean and comfortable Service: Young, many not wearing uniforms. One not wear "appropriate" clothing. Have to badger for Ice cream many times. Got held up for an extra 20min just waiting for ice cream almost left and said screw it. Overall: It a great start but they need a strong manager to really drive their workers and instill professionalism
Everyone was very kind, but my cheeseburger came out incorrectly and my blizzard had all the candy at one end. It was very clean and the staff was attentive the whole time. On the corporate end, the hotdogs were kind of expensive for plain, and the fries were lacking by fast food standards. It was abnormally cold, but one might expect such from a Dairy Queen and it had just rained so we were wet. Overall I wasn't miserable but I'll probably look elsewhere for more than just ice cream.
Service can be improved by training the staff about hygiene, sometimes they seem just not interested to keep it clean
If you've been to a DQ then you already know the experience. A lot of teens taking orders and not paying attention to what was ordered so a lot of orders have to be remade which just adds to the wait time. The food is just frozen and reheated so not worth the price, aside from the teen favorite $7 burger, fries, drink and sundae combo.
My Order was very simple, and the place was pretty much dead. Still my order was done incorrectly. 1 Small Oreo blizzard with extra Oreos. Charged me over $5 and barely any Oreos to be found in the entire cup!
Not the best food but hey its fast food. Asked for a extra bag....sure.....not 3 minits later i recieved my order chicken basket with orings. Chicken not cooked all the way. Its not like the old days thats for sure. Ice cream was good.
Food and ice cream are always good, but the price is just too much. Never have been to another DQ so not sure if they just take advantage of the area or what drives the prices too high, but there are plenty of other local owned ice cream shops that offer better quality and price. Try Jem's in South Windsor or Dairy Delite in East Windsor when in season
We went especially for the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard. 2 were ordered. 1 pineapple sundae. 1 fudgey, chocolate ice cream, peanut butter Blizzard with Reeses. Service was cordial and friendly - points there! The Pumpkin Pie Blizzards tasted more like vanilla with pie crust than pumpkin. (Next pumpkin craving, heading to a local place with real pumkiny flavored hard ice cream). The chocolatey goodness Blizzard came out with vanilla ice cream, and had to be returned. The pineapple sundae never came out, but they did come out to say that they were out of pineapple. All in all not a satisfying DQ trip. Will still go back for another try; but not rushing any time soon.
First time I've gone to DQ in years. I order a kids meal and small cone. First they made the choice before the food and had it sitting on the counter. Then they don't bother saying the burger comes with nothing on it or asking if I wanted anything on it. Finally the French fries are gross some mushy some over cooked. I think I'll stick to Ice Cream from now on.
We showed up and children took our order, literally an 8 yr old and maybe 16 year old waited on us, the first item I ordered was never actually ordered, when we got our food and we’re waiting on the rest for 15 min some of the older crew came up front to talk about there families business! We waited for 15 min before asking about our food which was never ordered, no receipt given yet thrown out so we couldn’t confirm it was placed! If people are waiting in front of the registers for a long amount of time it’s usual practice to ask if they’re waiting on something or if they need anything else! Waste of time 1st and last experience
Ice cream is made fine. We live near by and every time we go drive through or walk in it takes over 30 minutes for two blizzards . Service is painfully slow
If you want overpriced, usually cold, not particularly tasty grilled fast food - come to this Dairy Queen on Sullivan Avenue in South Windsor. Anytime I've relented when I needed a quick lunch, the food here has let me down. Too bad - since this was my family's favorite ice cream and fast food when I was a kid. (MacDonalds who?) Back in the day, the best burgers were DQ burgers; not any more.
Went to the dive through just to get an ice cream they took my order promptly ,I waited 10 mins at the window and the first ice cream was wrong very simple order then had to wait again for some time I noticed the kids on there phones so that must be more important than customers probably won't be back
Do not know what the issue was on 1/9/19 in the evening. There was a car in front waiting for their order.. That wait turned from what I thought would be a few minutes to 15min.. Finally, I see the car in front getting their order of... 🥁 "2 soft serve ice cream cones! All this wait for my food for that... Then because of that entire debacle, I was unable to even eat my food! As my lunch break was just about over... Thanks! Will not go back again! And if I do then I will call ahead
To ight I treated my husband and self to the new blizzards. He got the dirt blizzard minus the worms and I ordered the caramel fudge cheesecake blizzard. He was quite happy with his but mine was a total reject. The vanilla ice cream was soupy. A drizzle of caramel on the top?? A bunch too much of the caramel chocolate bites.NO CHEESECAKE PIECES! Apparently the person making it didn't have a clue. Not sure if I'll be going back through the drive through again.
Blizzards are really expensive and there weren't any oreo pieces in it. Basically paid for an overpriced cup of icecream.
Ordered a hot fudge sundae, and $6.50 later I got a plastic cup of ice cream with a drizzle of hot fudge. No whipped cream, no cherry. That is NOT a sundae! The girl serving me said the would put whipped cream on, but cherries are “discontinued”. I might add, the server was courteous and friendly enough … and I appreciate that she isn’t the decision-maker in what their “sundaes” will include. Bottom line is: a cup of ice cream with a drizzle of sauce isn’t a sundae … and it certainly isn’t worth $6.50! See you again … NEVER. FOLLOW-UP Please Note the prompt response I received … same “Cut & Paste” response they use for all customer complaints. Obviously, they have no intention of addressing/correcting the issues brought to their attention. They “hope” I’ll try them again … NO WAY. DW obviously doesn’t take customer satisfaction seriously. By the way DQ … I am NOT a “fan”
The food has been good. But I’ve been inside eating twice and both times this woman I’m assuming is the manager is publicly scolding her workers loud enough that everyone in the store can hear also she took my order and looked like she was very unhappy about me ordering food, she almost talked as if I had done something to offend her. I’m assuming she’s a manager and as one should conduct her self in a reasonable manner or as she wants her workers to act
Outrageously high prices compared to other DQs but somehow they're always busy. The drive thru is slow as molasses. I got a chocolate shake with chocolate ic and got what tasted like a vanilla shake. Staff are indifferent. Not worth the time and money, I'd rather go without.
This was not a very good meal. I opened up the chicken strips combo box and under the first layer of fries was a very long black hair with gray roots. I tried to put that fact from my mind and attempted to eat what was untouched by it, since I didn’t have much time. I took a bite of the chicken strips and for some reason it was very onion-y?? Very odd. I can still taste the onion hours later. The fries were good, but the hair definitely colored the meal for me. I also got a mini blizzard, which was already melted on top when it was brought over to me. I didn’t bring it to the attention of the staff, because they were already dealing with food complaints from other customers. Nobody dining in seemed to be having a good experience. Pros: -portion size -french fries Cons: -everything else
Honestly, the slowest crew in the area. 6-8 minutes per car in the drive thru, regardless of time of day, AND I’ve never gotten a correct blizzard order, and the fries have always been soggy. Just go to Manchester DQ if you want service.
There is a girl working the front desk with long brown hair and glasses that needs to learn how to treat their customers with kindness and some sort of respect. I went to Dairy Queen with my kids, and used one of my reward points on the app for a free blizzard. I also purchased a banana split. Great, however, I tried to use another deal for another $1 blizzard and was told that wasn't okay because I was adding two deals at once. That's fine. I had her take one of the blizzards off and put it on another transaction so my husband could use the $1 blizzard deal. However, it wouldn't go through and I was confused as to why because it said I used it even though I did not. The girl behind the register was incredibly snobby. One. Word. Answers. No desire to assist me. Seemed annoyed the entire time. Some of her replies: "I don't know. What do you mean? Yea, because. And. Uh huh. It was used on the last order." At one point, she turned her head and rolled her eyes making a face towards her coworker. Turns out it was a mobile order only coupon. It said $1 with the app or mobile order so I thought it was okay. Had she just said that, and assisted me somewhat, it would've been fine. I was showing her what I was doing and she gave no flips. Anyhow, I could get it if there was line behind me and taking a long time but there was no one else in line. The girl was just being incredibly rude and made me feel belittled. Please work on her customer service skills
Can yall actually use the ice cream lids that are given to your store. I get this overflowing blizzard that’s an absolute mess but the use a drink lid with the spoon stabbed through. Give me my spoon on the side and a proper lid like you are supposed to. Thing leaves a huge mess in my car and it’s not like dq is gonna pay for it to be cleaned or anything. They are constantly forgetting parts of my orders I work down the road so it’s the most convenient thing to grab. I once got a chili cheese dog and it was packaged vertically in the box chili and cheese everywhere I practically are a plain hot dog cause all the condiments are splattered in the container, they said they don’t do refunds….
waited in the drive thru line at a 20 minute stand still just for the cashier to refuse to take my order because it was 4 minutes past close. I will not be coming back, terrible experience.
I ordered a medium kiwi strawberry slushy. It doesn’t taste anything like the first time I ordered. And I’m not sure they gave me the right size. I should’ve stuck to the one in east Hartford.
Don’t recommend this Dairy Queen , very disgusting 🤢 ppl working in the kitchen customers service was bad they really should train there team better
Need customer service training for the employee working the window on July 30, 2022 around 5PM. I guess she couldn't understand that we said Chocolate Extreme Blizzard small so when we got to the window, I told her it was a small and the total went down 40 or 50 cents. When she hands it to us, she says that a medium was already made so we got it for the price of a small with a snarky look...as if we were getting some type of deal (like getting over). GET REAL. An additional .50 in my pocket doesn't do anything for me. Nasty attitude. Get her out of the drive thru.
This is the worst DQ. Drive a little further go to a different one. I have gone to this one a bunch of times because it is closer than Manchester to me.The food is always bad and microwaved to rubber. I simply asked for a fresh burger and fries hold the pickles. Instead got several hour old food that was in fact not microwaved and of course with pickles not to mention a smart mouthed comment from the cook. Ice cream sure, forget the food and attitude.
The food was good until I found a what looked like a pubic hair at the bottom of my french fries. I told the manager and showed him. He did absolutely nothing to fix the issue. I will never eat there again. I give you ZERO stars 0..
the most rude and disrespectful people including the manger. I ordered chicken strips and was told to pull up front to a “yellow door” that no one could ever point out and after I waited in the parking lot for 30 minutes and went back in the drive thru, they started giving me horrible attitude and were talking rudely telling me that they closed. When I first pulled up to the drive thru everyone inside saw me and yet ignored that I was clearly waiting.
We just left a long late-night line that moved fairly quickly. We ordered a Blizzard and a milkshake. The Blizzard was like soup and the shake was mostly milk and was handed to me with a cup that was covered in ice cream; no napkins given until I asked. I wouldn’t recommend anyone get ice cream from here.
I wrute this review as I sot in the restaurant, I normally go to the one in Manchester. But decided to give this one a try as it's closer. I go up and place my order, come to find out the normal things I get are more expensive in this location. I got my food in a relatively quick manner. The beef was room temperature at best, cheese un-melted. Asked the staff if they could heat it up a bit. After taking my food to the back it was brought back up to me. The staff member left it with me and said, "we can't heat this up for you" and took his leave. For my first visit I am rather disappointed to say the least.
Who the hell opens at 10:30 AM some of us essential workers need our food and there’s nothing out here. Y’all should really think of this.
Couldn't have been any worse. Stood at the counter waiting to be served for 8 minutes with no one in front of me when I arrived. Asked was anyone working this station and the girl pointed to another girl just standing folding napkins. Looked up at us and looked back at what she was doing. Got back in the car and went through the drive thru. My blizzard has a small piece of what looked like cardboard in it. Won't go there again. It wasn't busy the people were just dissinterested.
If I could leave zero stars I would. Four useless teenagers standing around doing nothing while I’m waiting 15 minutes for two blizzards. They would much rather be on their phones, applying Chapstick and hand lotion and sitting on counters. Management is a joke as well
Very disappointed with my interaction with the crew. Was handed a ‘milkshake’ that was completely melted. When I asked for them to remake it because it was melted an employee snarkily said ‘it’s a milkshake not a fribble’ Had it remade, the second milkshake had weird brown flaky chunks in it? Was too fed up to go back in and ask for a refund. VERY disappointed with this places employees, and quality.
Horrible customer service. Place has gone down hill. Cashier acted as if they could care less and took 20 minutes to get a simple sundae. Other employees standing around doing nothing. Avoid this place.
The young man taking orders called me dumb and said we stopped selling smoothies years ago when I tried to order one. Sorry kid you're like 16 I don't know how you've been working a dairy queen that long. first time going and not going again. Overhaul this place and get new workers.
I was in East windsor visiting from Texas. I have a daughter that works at one in Texas. I was with family and I brought in a salad from Subway. They had ordered food and I started eating my salad. The manager came around and told me I couldn't be eating the salad from subway there because owner was not gna like it. I've never been told that not even in Texas. Very disappointed never again will I go to this dairy queen. This place in my opinion is not worth a review but I had to speak my mind. Update- I have tried to reach yall at the link that was sent and it takes me no where. Really disappointed!
I usually don't write reviews but I've been to this location multiple times and the experience hasn't gotten better. I would've gone to the Manchester location but they were slammed (and I regret not waiting in their line that went into the street). I went today around 8:30 wasn't too busy but when I ordered the guy taken orders just seemed like our order wasn't worth his time. When we finally got to the window noone acknowledge us after paying for probably a good 4 minutes they were too busy tossing something back and forth and chatting. When we finally got out food. IT WASNT EVEN CORRECT half our condiments were missing and they kept trying to have us leave while still missing items. " have a good day" ... I ordered drinks and they barely acknowledged what I said and just handed out 2 drinks as lid fell off in the process. I worked food service very recently and it's a little disheartening that people act like this.
Service was horrible was rushed to order (no one behind us), they brought my sons ice cream out with food instead of waiting, didn’t give me mine and when I asked for it got questioned like I was lying, over priced for quality and service. Used to be good location in South Windsor it’s horrible now this isn’t first time but tried to give another chance that won’t happen again. And when you ask for cone then they put it upside down in bowl makes no sense if that’s what we wanted we would of asked for bowl!!
I waited in line for what seemed like forever to be handed a bag of old food!! The fries tasted like they were 5 days old, the hot dog was dried out and tasted like it sat under a heat lamp for a week and we wont get into the chili.. I wouldnt feed my dog that!! For sitting in line with no cars infront of me i expected to have at minimum fresh fries!! I was sadly mistaken!!
I had a absolutely horrible experience at this diary queen recently. I went through the drive thru to only to helped by a extremely rude employee which I believe his name is Jason. Very rude in the drive through and when I finally pulled up to the window I waited over 5 minutes just for them to open the window and take my payment. Not only was my food cold, my sundaes were practically soup and when I asked to have my sundaes remade I got a nasty look and it took them over another 5 minutes to remake two sundaes. Not to mention all the employees standing around on their phones doing nothing and just chatting with each other. Do not come to this diary queen location unless you want horrible service and horrible food.
I love Dairy Queen Blizzard. My husband and I went to treat ourselves to a take five blizzard and cherry chip blizzard. What a disappointment that was. My take five blizzard was runny and icy and only have a little Carmel, pretzels and peanuts on the top of a medium blizzard. the rest of it was just icy watery vanilla soft serve and the same with the cherry chip one. What is happening? Are you being cheap with your toppings? and the ice cream formula is terrible. I swapped from going to the Enfield Dairy Queen to the South Windsor, Ct Dairy Queen for that reason. Please fix the problems...because blizzards are a long time favorite of a lot of us...You don't want to disappoint your customers!
Tired of disappointment. I've been to this location many times. The last year has been such a disappointment. Every time I get a blizzard I ask for extra peanut butter cups, and pay for it. And every time I get less than I normally get at the manchester location Without having to ask for extra peanut butter cups. Just little tiny dots of pieces. Back in the day they made such good blizzards, but now it's not been the same. I also asked for hot fudge and peanut butter sauce. I think there might have been a little bit of peanut butter but no hot fudge. Again something I asked for and paid extra for. Maybe other blizzards are better here, but their PB Cup ones are seriously lacking.
Waited in line for 20 minutes and when it was my turn to order they refused to serve me. It was 9:03. They really should have someone walk out and put a cone up in the drive thru when it gets to be 9:00, and finish serving the people who have been waiting. The past 3 times I’ve been there, there’s been an issue either with the service or my order. I’ve been going for many years. Will not be returning.
Horrible horrible service, half the staff was on their phones, no one was pleasant at all. Women in front of us asked for a side of strawberries because ordered extra and didn't get any then was given attitude by one male employee saying next time we will have to charge you even though she offered to pay for more. I asked for extra cheesecake in my blizzard and didn't get a single piece in it. Every employee looked miserable and overall it was not a nice experience. Will not be back
Ordered 2 cheesecake Blizzards. Large one had 2 small cheesecake pieces, medium had zero, NOT ONE PIECE. Your job isn’t hard guys, that’s ridiculous.
This place has gone significantly down hill. The owners clearly aren’t concerned about customer service or wait times. As it took us over 30 minutes to get our ice cream. The staff were horrendous, as they were playing on their phones, having side conversations with their coworkers and friends (visiting their friends at work) instead of helping the customers in the store. There is absoluty no sense of urgency in this entire facility, and not a manager in sight. There are other Dairy Queen’s in the region that do a far batter job handling their customer flow, and are much better managed. I wouldn’t waste your time or money visiting this DQ.
Went for the new tamarind lemonade. A medium was over $6! Seriously?! You guys can keep it. Thankfully the staff was cool and agreed with how ridiculous the price was.
I was visiting family in South Windsor and I guess I've become accustomed to the service and ice cream at the Fairfield location, because I was appalled at the ice cream and service we received tonight at this South Windsor location. When my flurry came out completely melted, i knew there was NO way they were going to flip the cup. Not that i expect a flipped cup every time, but my flurry was a melted mess, so there was no way it would have stood the test. When i mentioned it to the girl at the register, she gave me the Gen Z stare and said "well, its hot in here." They did end up remaking it for me, but it was only slightly better. Least to say, we'll skip this DQ next time.
My ice cream was served in the drive thru melted with ice cream literally seeping through the lid and all down the cup creating a huge mess. The melted ice cream on the sides of the cup were so wet they broke right through the drink tray. Staff is incompetent to put a lid on an ice cream.
Today is April 15th 2025 after 5:00 they should really get rid of the drive-thru girl that was there. She sounds miserable anytime you have to give her a little extra info on what your order was in the Drive-Thru. She seemed miserable and she seemed upset. Awful customer service
We ordered online and drove 25 minutes to get here. When we got here they didn’t have what we ordered so we asked for a refund. The extremely nasty female manager told us she couldn’t help us. She said she wouldn’t do a refund and it needed to be done thru the app. NOPE! She wouldn’t give us the owners information either. After 10 minutes of arguing we left and called DQ corporate number. They said verbatim “only the store can refund you your money” Right, just like I thought. We drove 25 min back home already and are out $15. Plus it doesn’t matter because they already refused to refund me at the store and corporate won’t refund me. Don’t use the app, and don’t go to DQ. Slimy way to run a company.
First and last time. Ordered to stay, still bagged up our food. Ordered onion rings, still got fries. When I went back to the counter to get the onion rings the attendant told the other worker “they’re right there”. She purposely didn’t put them in the order. No one apologized either. Food was decent but the whole experience and energy in that place is cold.
