Delicious home made fried chicken. It wasn't greasy at all. The mashed potatoes and french fries were also good. Definitely glad I stopped here on my drive.

One of my favorites menu choices are the livers...that bein said, the livers were a huge disapointment I couldnt bite or break them. I must say that my cats were thrilled with special treat!

Man, what is that after taste on that chicken? The chicken taste spoiled. Like it had been recooked after a few days. When you ask for mixed chicken. You don't pick out the 3 smallest pieces. The fries were cold also. Didn't even attempt to hide it. Actually servered the person behind me before I go my order. We had the same thing. Then had an attitude when you tell her it wasn't ok.

Place is a little old/run down. Friends ate the chicken, once said it was okay, one said it was crispy. Biscuits are decent with honey. Hush puppies were not good which made me sad. Fried Okra was good. Prices are fair. Fish was "okay" ... Not a good place for strict vegetarians as their only option would be biscuits since everything else is fried together. Bathroom could use some work and there's nothing worse than washing your with ice cold water in the winter and have no paper towels.

Online it says the sweetwater store closes at 10, we pull up at 9:00 and they locked the door on us, I called and they said those hours does not pertain to them. They should up update the post online. We drove in from roby to make it before they closed. Very upset!!!!

Delicious fried chicken but I've gotten better service at a truck stop. They've forgotten my wife's Cole slaw now both times we visited. Definitely NOT the same Gills that I remember from when I was young..... Going to Golden Chick from now on.

Very slow and rude wait on a short very slow line with a cane yes I’m handicapped and when I got to the counter the Chinese mananger said wait 5 minutes to order , I’m already hurting don’t cell like waiting any longer I just left and will not ever come back

Well after trying gills for the first time today, I do not understand why they are always so busy outside of the fact that their is literally no other chicken place in sweetwater other than golden chick and don't even get me started on that. It was honestly trash. The livers were burnt, the gravy might as well of been water, it had zero flavor. The bisquits were literally the only thing that tasted good.

The biggest mistake that they made was getting rid of the specials for the tenders they might have lost a long time customer because it was a great deal and was reasonable kn price and they just got rid of it today I'll debate on it I go back or not

I loved gills because of their tenders. For the past year their tenders have gotten smaller and smaller. Very disappointing. Also ordered 2 corn on the cobs and only found 1 in the bag.

Just moved into Sweetwater TX. Was recommended by a local individual. Called to inquire about the products. The products were represented one way. Upon arrival, the products were not as represented on the phone. When I asked the attendant to back up the representation, she flat said NO. Ordered chicken strips. It was more like nuggets. Most chicken establishments serve mashed potatoes without gravy mixed in the potatoes. Speaking of which, the potatoes tasted like instant food. The okra was decent. The biscuits were decent. And the PRICE WAS ASTOUNDING. THE MOON WOULD HAVE BEEN CHEAPER THAN THAT. The manager was a professional FLIM-FLAM artist.

I placed my order at the counter, for a 7 piece tender combo, 2 sides, an extra corn on the cob and large drink. Came to a total of just under $20. Got my drink, and sat down to wait for my order to come up. 30 minutes later, after watching numerous customers order and get their food, I got up and asked if they had misplaced my order. They poked around but couldn't find my order, or the credit card receipt (that I'd signed). I made the mistake of not asking for or being offered a card receipt. So basically I paid $20 for a 32oz soda. Now I've got to dispute the charges with my credit card company! I used to like this place, it was my go-to quickie dinner spot. Not any more.
