Opinions de Gangnam Style Korean Kitchen Syracuse
Small mom and pop type place. Wonderful service and presentation. We were experimenting with food lol. Korean food was new to us. Food was visually beautiful and tasted even better. Server was helpful in understanding menu. Portions were generous. Bold flavor to everything, very cool. Great experience all around. Thanks for the nice quiet night out you two.
True Korean. The Kim chi was great the food was great… Insert that back of the throat rolling sound when a Korean REALLY loves something. YUM
The food here is delicious with a homemade taste and a mother’s touch. The owner is a very kind and friendly lady who is very attentive to her customers, her recipes are unique, and her appetizers are made fresh daily. My favorite is the gamja tang, a soup made with pork that melts off the bone; it has the flavor and juiciness of pork, blended in a variety of spices that enhances its flavor. I will miss this restaurant and the owner!
The food was outstanding and the service just as good. I'm no Korean food expert but I'm told this is about as authentic as it gets in Syracuse. It's a family run restaurant and you can tell the owners really care about their food and the community, I've eaten here a number of times now and it has always been a great experience.
The food is great. The people that work here are really nice and very accommodating. I asked for tofu in my bibimbap instead of meat and they made it for me and it was some of the best bibimbap I have ever had. Best Korean restaurant in Syracuse for sure.
Appears to be truly authentic Korean. It's delicious. Meals served with tea and side dishes, assorted kimchi. Pleasant and attentive service. Not much space inside, consider placing your order by phone and pick up.
Been there many times and loved the food. I have tried a few other Korean restaurants in Syracuse but this is definitely the best and most authentic one! I was in Syracuse for about 2 years and that’s my to go place for Korean food. I do miss this place and the owner as I have left Syracuse/US few months ago….
Food taste better than the ones in NYC. Lunch special are inexpensive which ends at 3pm. Love to go there whenever I'm in town. The only flaw is the path to the bathroom is kinda weird... Other than that everything else is great.
It's a very small space and definetly not fully staffed. Considering how everything is EVERYWHERE coming in here with kindness and understanding is a MUST. The food is worth it. Dukbokee, kimbob, and mandu were enjoyed by all 5 of us. The kalbi tang, osam, and miyeok guk was enjoyed by us, and dolsot bibimbob, and Terriyaki chicken was enjoyed by our companions that have never had korean food before and one was picky (but tried a little bit of everything and enjoyed it all.) Our waitress who I also assume is the owner was incredibly friendly and so kind to our kids (who were very loud in such a small space.)
The Westcott neighborhood of Syracuse, fondly called the Westcott Nation by the locals, has an excellent selection of cuisine for its size. The Gangnam replaced a pizza chain, which is excellent news! 4 of us - all first-timers - from the office went there and were very happy with our food. The BBQ wings were a favorite, as was the squid dish (but I cannot remember what it was called). The woman behind the counter was very sweet and happy to have us there. It wasn't very quick, but we weren't looking for fast food. There is fine print on the menu stating that the lunch price is a few dollars cheaper than what appears on the menu. Overall, an excellent experience.
Great atmosphere, friendly service, and amazing food! We got the japchae, mapa tofu, jjampong bokkeum, and fried chicken... so good!!
The food and service at the Korean Kitchen was amazing. The vegetable pancake was awesome and not oily like others I've had. Cilantro Bokkeum packed a punch with heat but the flavour was perfect. I don't remember when I last had service so comfortable and friendly. Keep up the great work!
Omggggodddnessssss!!! The food is exceptionally delicious. Small quaint place and treats u like family always. The lady in the kitchen is such a hard worker and makes the best Korean food. She is the best of the best. I promise u will leave there stuffed and side dishes are always different and my meal was super tasty. If I can give them 10 stars I would. Keep up the great work😉 .we will be back so soon.
What a delightful hidden gem! 🤣 I do mean hidden though, I had to call to find out which door led me to the restaurant! To give you an idea of the food, and my credibility I want to share- I am Korean American and grew up on Korean food. my parents own a really well known Korean farm to table restaurant, we used to go down to the city every other week and eat out regularly and almost exclusively at Korean restaurants… When I moved up to Binghamton, I was so sad, there weren’t any good Korean spots, the places in Ithaca and Syracuse that I tried were very mainstream and simplified to suit the American palate. I ordered the YukGaeJang, a spicy beef brisket stew, and WOW. The broth was SO delicious, it was deep, beefy, and SUPER spicy, just like it’s supposed to be. The Kimchi was amazing, the fish cake was fantastic, all the sides were SO good. The owner, a sweet hardworking woman, makes everything from SCRATCH! Hard to find in ANY Korean restaurant, and hard to find done well. Syracuse residents, you’re so lucky to have this spot right here. I live in Binghamton, but will definitely be here regularly. What comfort food ☺️
This place is amazing! We lived in Korea for a while and this really satisfied my longing for good authentic Korean food. We had dolsot Bibimbop, Kimbop, and dumplings (mandu). It was all amazing! This place is a hole in the wall, but don’t let that stop you from eating there. It’s so good!
Reasonable home style cooking with a solid core of side dishes. The positives: the flavors of moms cooking, the portions, the warmth home cooking feel when you take a bite of your food. The negatives: could use an interior update and some better service. If you're into food and don't care about the atmosphere...this place is just up your alley. I'd definitely come back !!!!!!
The Korean chicken wings were some of the BEST wings I've ever ate! We always get the spicy noodles, so no complaints there. I recommend 10/10!
This place is a gem! Side dishes are different each time so you get to try new things. Food is always fresh, even the water is amazing. I went with a friend of mine to try it out and it's going to be a regular thing whenever we're in the area. Before we left, we were given a pair of tangerines. Love this place!!
Everything is homemade taste like its right out of korea
I've been wanting to try this place out for awhile and it was worth it. A great spot for fresh and authentic Korean food. There's a good sized menu with many options for whatever you may be in the mood for. I will definitely be coming back for more.
So glad to have found this little gem. Coming from Hawaii and California, my husband and I were on the hunt for good Korean food here in CNY. We were not at all disappointed! Amazing dishes! The menu was extensive and everything we ordered was so hot and delicious. Now we have another reason to brave the drive into the city. We'll be back soon!
My son and I had a delicious sit-down meal on Sunday night. The menu offers so many classic Korean dishes. The cooking is flavorful and the portions are generous. The dumplings were piled high and piping hot, the banchan was mouthwatering, the short ribs were succulent and the bibimbap was super fresh really hit the spot. The vibe seems like a hard working family business and we appreciated that they were open on a Sunday when so many other places were either closed, or too busy to serve us. Give this place a shot if you enjoy nice folks and good food.
Warm, cozy, and delicious! The staff was so kind and attentive too. We had two styles of dishes: one spicy, and one BBQ. Both were spectacular! the spicy soup was warming and filling, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. My seafood barbecue dish was cooked equally well, and the squid had excellent texture. Very fresh! We are from Ithaca, and will definitely be traveling to Syracuse again to enjoy the wonderful Korean food here!
We went here before a show at the Westcott, which is across the street. It was recommended to me by my Korean friend whose super Korean mother loves it there too. So I knew it was gonna be good. Now, it's not a fancy place. Not a ton of tables. Only one, maybe two people working front of the house. But the food is terrific. We had some dumpling and a kimchi pancake. I also had a noodle dish that I can't remember the name. Japchai or something to the lilike. Regardless... it was really delicious. Not too heavy either, which is ideal if you're about to go dance for a couple hours.
Small, mostly take out Korean restaurant. The seating is quite limited ( only a few small tables and one larger seating area ) we were lucky enough to get seated as soon as we walked in. Very casual dining. The menu was pretty extensive and is mostly standard Korean with a few dishes that are not. The food was excellent, the bibimbap was one of the best things I've ever eaten. My daughter really liked her dish as well (teriyaki tofu). The side dishes of tofu , pickled vegetables, etc. We're all excellent and traditionally spicy so I'm thankful they kept our water glasses full! I wanted to say it was a little pricey when I first looked at the menu , but by the end of the meal I am convinced the quality of the food made it worth it !
The lady was very nice and welcoming. The food didn’t take long to come out. It has a wider variety of Korean food than places like Secret Garden and the only place with good Beef Dolsot in the area. Overall, it’s a big step up in food quality and service in other restaurants. Will definitely be coming back!
Very nice people working here. The food was delicious. The chicken combo for 35 dollars is an excellent deal, but be warned before you get it, that it is enough to feed 3 people. 😆
The lady and the chef were amazing and very welcoming. They were quick and asked me and my girlfriend multiple times if we needed anything else. Sweet older lady who was humble and accommodating of our requests. The food was really delicious and authentic. We had the chicken teriyaki and bulgogi and Korean fried style chicken.
i DO recommend the kkangpungi especially if you're a picky eater unsure what to order, absolutely amazing. flawless order! lady is so sweet!
Got the tteok-bokki, panfried dumplings, and red chili fried chicken to share with the table. Everybody loved the apps. I got japchae which was delicious. Everyone else loved their entrees as well!!!
Amazingly delicous, authentic Korean foods!! Four of us ordered four different dishes, but they all came out really fast. Very generous amount and great side dishes as well!! The owner is very sweet and kind. We’re not from local, but we would love to visit Syracuse just to visit here again!
Great authentic Korean food. The woman who owns the restaurant is extremely nice and willing to adjust the menu to suit your taste buds. Seating is a bit crowded but the meal more than makes up for it. You should really try the Korean Pancake (seafood or vegetarian). I was skeptical at first but now I order it every time. U also will be in for a treat if you try the Korean Fried Chicken. I can't tell you how many items on the menu I have tried and still enjoy everything. Everything tastes just as authentic as sitting in a South Korean mom & pop restaurant. If anything, please stop by and support this business to maintain the variety of culinary options in the Syracuse area.
I’ve been here a year now and this restaurant never disappoints! The woman is so sweet and the food is excellent! My favorite is the Jjambong, which is a spicy noodle soup with seafood and veggies. It has two mussels and shrimps, 3-5 strips of squid, spinach, bean sprouts, and green onions! It’s a big portion and it’s worth the money. I’ve gotten the gimbap, tofu soup, the mackerel, and other dishes before and it was great too! You always get side dishes! It’s different each time and my favorite is the fish cakes. I highly recommend eating here!
Last time I eat good Korean food was with my friend Scott Kim 25 years ago in San Diego. This was it. I'm eating the left overs for breakfast as I write this. The egg-seafood pancake in the picture is an appatizer! It's a meal! Soup is literally still boiling in the cast iron bowl. Find is fresh and delicious. Beautifully presented. Menu has tiny print and tough to read, pay close attention to the # of hot peppers printed on the tiny picture!! Its spicy. My tofu seafood soup was almost too spicy to eat. Now that I'm eating it for breakfast it does not seem so spicy or I am just used to it now. At dinner I broke out in a sweat and had to get extra napkins. (As I write this my wife said I look like I'm sweating again.. I am and didn't realize it...) My wife stuck to chicken and she thought it was delicious. My 13 yr old son was adventurous with the squid. Large pieces of fresh squid a very different texture experience as compared to eating baby squid, very good with a stronger taste. The condiments were good I liked the fish paste. I'm no coniseour of KimChi to me it seemed fine but you can't go off what I say. Not the best ambiance... this looks like an old pizza place designed for takeout and downing a few slices and a soda at the booths. If you sit at the booth across from the door expect a cold breeze whenever it opens. ;) The owner is very sweet and very concerned about the quality of her food. Her daughter was the helping out as waitress/cashier for the night and her communication skills are probably key to some if their success. I am already jonesing for more and my family is looking forward to going back. In sure we will sit in the booth and complain about the draft.
Really cosy homey vibe. Food was great! Loved the pork with black bean noodle. Even the sushi was delicious and so was the shumai dumplings. Must try!!!!
Great food for a reasonable price. Every time I have been here the food has been full of flavor, from the main meal to the side dishes. The side dishes themselves are very tasty and a good variety are offered. As it is a growing business there are times when you may have to wait to be seated but don’t let that discourage you, the food is well worth it. The owner is friendly and does her best to accommodate everyone.
The food here is awesome. Very authentic tasting Korean cuisine. The restaurant is small and can get crowded but, it is well worth the wait. I have visited Korea several times and the food here at Gangnam brings me back with every bite. I recommend this for the adventurous eater or simply for those that love food and different tastes. Service is friendly and quick. Waits can be up to 15 minutes when full. This food is straight up good!!!!
I've only been there a couple times now, but the food is absolutely amazing and I've yet to be disappointed. I'm obsessed with the galbi tang (ribs soup) and loved the chicken wings with red chilli sauce. Its a small space and definitely is no upscale restaurant, but I think the food more than makes up for it. Especially with the winter months coming up, I'll definitely be returning for that galbi tang every chance I get. The only confusing thing for me is that the most prominent door is not the door you enter into.... there is a door to the left which I thought was side door.
Kim the chef at Gangnam Style is amazing! Her food is SO tasty and authentic. I love the pancakes and bip n bop. Every time I am in Syracuse I stop to enjoy a nice meal or take one home with me. Love it!! Do not be fooled by the humble exterior & dining area. The food is terrific!
Ordered $250 worth of food for 4 people, everything was great for our big back appetite and Asian food loving tastebuds. Service is a bit slow since there are only 2 people running the place but they are very nice. Wish they had more seating but we went during an off time and were okay. Arguably the best Korean spot in Cuse.
Absolutely one of the best places I’ve been to while visiting Syracuse. We ordered 2 appetizers (tteokbokki and pan fried dumplings), 10 pc red chili (Korean style) fried chicken, and we all each got a full order meal to share with the table. The free side dishes were amazing, the kimchi was crunchy and full of flavor. I got the donkatsu and it was the best fried pork. Overall will definitely come back if I am ever in town.
The food was amazing!! The Tteok-bokki was amazing. The pan fried dumplings were nice and crispy. The red chili fried chicken was so full of flavor and had some nice heat to it. The mapa tofu was cooked perfectly and was a delicious meal. And the owner was so sweet. She really made us feel like welcome guests.
Nice little Korean restaurant that serves tasty dishes. We were in a hurry to get home, so we got our food to go. Everything was flavorful. the portions were generous, and would have probably been much better if we had eaten there (we live 80 minutes away). Regardless, we are happy that we stopped in, and we will definitely be back to eat there again. Others have mentioned the front door not being clearly marked. I’ve included a video and photo.
What an amazing find in Syracuse! There’s not much curb appeal, but once you open the door the smells will entice you immediately! This is some of the best Korean food I’ve ever had. Went with friends and tried a little bit of everything! Definitely give the Korean fried chicken a try, but everything we had was delicious. It’s also a sweet older couple who runs it, super friendly and speedy service! We’ll be back for sure. (Pictured is the gimbap, shumai, bulgogi, bibimbap, and a stir fried green bean yachae bokkeum, and the Korean fried chicken with their sauce.) The only down side is the bathroom. There’s only one for customers and staff, it was clean but could use updating. And there was a fly strip in there which no one wants to see. But it’s not like you’re visiting for the bathroom anyway.
The Ajumma was our server and cook, and she was amazing and sweet in every single way. The son I'm assuming was also very nice with refilling drinks. It got really busy around 2PM since it's lunch hour, so food took longer to come out. however, the wait did not disappoint how amazing the food was. 10/10 would absolutely come back again. What I love is also they serve Hojicha tea, if that is up your alley. Totally a plus for me. Pictured: grilled mackerel, galbi-tang, bulgogi, and banchan.
We’ve become regulars over the years not only because the owner makes absolutely delicious authentic Korean food but also because she is such a sweet and kind person. We adore her and always leave the place feeling so cared for. She generously takes care of her regulars with huge portions and extra side dishes as she considers them her extended family. She rightfully takes great pride in her food and works incredibly hard to prepare quality food. I am so grateful to have this place with high qualify, authentic Korean food here in Syracuse. She offers Jeollado style of Korean food as she is originally from Jeollado. Jeollado is renowned for its rich culinary culture, and Korea’s first UNESCO designated city of gastronomy is located in it. Her revolving complimentary side dishes are exceptionally tasty, and I always look forward to different side dishes she prepares each time. Not surprisingly, the place has older Koreans dining in every time we visit, and that really tells you her food is authentic and good. My husband and I eat vegan and she is always happy to accommodate for us, which I am really thankful for.
First impressions was not the best only because we could not tell where the front door was. BUT once you enter this amazing small hole in the wall, you will realize you have missed some amazing Korean food. The owner will remind you of your friends grandmother who loves to cook. The food came out incredibly fast and was presented like you are at your friends house. The Sundubu came out super hot and super flavorful. The Japchae was the perfect portion and super full of flavor. And the kimchee appetizers tasted like they were prepared from the grandmothers house.
Delicious gem in Syracuse. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon with the place near-deserted. Quickly got some delicious tea and kimbap - with the lovely aroma of sesame seeds on top, glistening; really good green veg filling, egg carrot etc too. Then the curry pajeon! I've never had curry flavor before but that was crispy and fantastic, especially with its soy sauce. Tteokbokki was classic with the flat fish cakes, a good amount of spice for me (with lots of water!); fantastic chew. We shared the beef rice cake stew : sudden homey vibes, strong black pepper flavor, rice cakes and clear likely sweet potato noodles in there too, beef strands tender. Dolsot seafood bibimbap : this had little squids and mollusks (I think clam), and fish cake with the spinach carrot etc with again a great sauce, seaweed paper flakes on top, an oozy egg, and the red sauce on the side for as much spice as you want! If you don't touch it the rice crust is perfect on this winter day (no burned bits but crunchy!!). Ramen is vegetarian and gave me an instant nostalgic feel. Can combine with tteokbokki for a little rappokki fun! Then, the omurice: not the oozy japanese cafe one but an egg omelette on again super nostalgic fried rice. They can always hold/put on the side ingredients if you need. This came with pork strips I think. I'm in love with ajumma's sesame leaf banchan. It's so hard to find in upstate NY and unexpected!! The texture cannot be replicated by most supermarket goods. She also had soybean sprouts, kimchi, and fish cakes. Would highly recommend. Food is delicious, owners are very friendly and caring, and atmosphere is cozy.
What a delight! This is GOOD Korean food. Everything is made by hand. The chef is the owner, and she and the woman running front of house were friendly and just lovely. The chef even came out and personally chatted with everyone who was eating here. Now, you are probably wondering how the food is? Oh, it is SO good. They could compete in San Francisco. I received 4 size dishes. Pickled daikon (yay) a mysterious, Herby, spongy green I am unfamiliar with, and a new experience is a rare treat for me, fish cake strips (my favorite) and REALLY well-balanced kimchee. I normally do not care for kimchee, but this was so good! I got a seafood pancake and a squid and pork belly dish, which also had onions, hot pepper slices, and sliced savory fried rice cake. Also, of course, a bowl of rice to eat it on. By default, I was given cold water rather than hot tea, but i found it was quite welcome today. If you want GOOD Korean food, you should absolutely give this place a try. The people are so nice, too. They treat you like family. Me: "this is all so good!" Her: ""Oh! You are good also!" Happy belly, happy heart.
It was a late Saturday evening. Alas, I realize suddenly I have an urge for Korean food and I guess what I am out in the country…45 min away from a city that possibly will have Korean food. So my adventure into the city lands me at a rather humble looking kind of take out looking restaurant. I ordered the standard Korean style Chinese menu - Tangsuyuk(deep fried sweet and sour) and Ganjjajang(Noodles with pork in black bean sauce). The thing is I wasn’t expecting a great super tasty Korean meal at a joint that looks like a takeout restaurant. Alas, I was wrong. Once I started tasting the food, I was floating up above in a gourmet heaven dancing “Kangnam Style” and devouring them (although I wasn’t really hungry hungry). Fortunately it was close to closing time, and I was able to have a little conversation with the owner and I can’t say enough on how genuinely nice and kind the owner is. I will have to say I probably had one of the best experience in Tangsuyuk and Ganjjajang of my life!
Very crispy chicken, good spice level on the Korean Spicy flavor, and the honey paired well with the chicken. Good price for a lot, we ordered the 20pc and they allowed us to get two different sauces with it. Sadly it did not come with any side dishes so we went and bought some separately.
Great food, great variety of options and choices for a meal. Cozy little place with really helpful service, no problem with answering lots of questions. I think our server was new because the people in the back definitely corrected him a lot, but he was great so it took away from everything. But, definitely recommend for the delicious food!
Food was very good. They were a little short-handed so service was slow. Tables weren't cleaned properly but the place was not a mess. We will probably come back. The food tasted fresh and flavorful
Food is pretty good and can be quite authentic as korean home cooking. Prices just seemed a little expensive compared to what you get on certain dishes. I tend to go towards the pork dishes and aren't overly spicy.
I had a great time at this restaurant. The place was small and all the tables were taken but it didn't take me long to get a table. I ordered a nice stew and the side dishes and the stew were pretty good. This is probably the best Korean restaurant in 'cuse. The prices of the food were as same as the ones in NYC so I think it was a bit high but totally worth it. Would visit again.
For a restaurant in the countryside, it's a Korean restaurant, but the taste is average, although the side dishes are prepared with great care.
I had the Korean style chicken wings. They were cooked well, but the sauce was sickeningly sweet. The layout of the restaurant is completely nonsensical and the service is meh. I thought it was overpriced. My Korean friend loves it so go there and judge it for yourself.
Please note I had no prior experience with the Korean food although I'd like to think I love Asian food probably most than any other. With that in mind, I was not very impressed at all. It was not bad, I just had higher expectations. There was very little protein in the maine course dishes and way too much breading and other things. Dishes had medium spice but were lacking basic seasonings and flavor. Also pretty dry, we were longing for some kind of sauce. It is a small corner joint with very few seating and not much of ambiance. The staff was friendly and attentive. So if you are in a mood for something different, I'd say give it a go. By the way, I'm not too old but I was not able to read the menu. The letters are way too small like the fine print on medicine labels.
This place is very mediocre. My wife and I are Asian food lovers and although the flavor was okay. Our Bibimbap was cold which made us question freshness. The wings had good flavor but over fried, so were the fries and they tasted greasy. The place itself is ugly and smells old and unclean. We didn't enjoy it much. Won't be back on a scale of 1-10 we would give it a 6.
They seem like very nice people but I'm sorry to say that it was disappointing. The portions were okay but for the price it's a ripoff. The food wasn't very flavorful, it didn't come out hot, and there were so many big fat flies in the restaurant. Won't be coming back.
Had to update the rating. Food quality has disappeared, and the price keeps going up. Service has always been meh, but for the prices she is trying to get now, it should be much better. Still stingy with the ban chans.
Sadly had to amend my review here. The food is top notch and the Korean woman running the place is so kind. The issue is her son. Harasses anyone who parks in “their spots”(there’s a whole parking lot dude) and now he has cameras and a microphone on the lot that he watches. Today he started scolding my friend from the outside speaker mounted on the corner of the building, as he was parked in a handicapped spot (because he’s handicapped and has a sticker clearly hanging from his rear view). Certainly lost my business and it’s a shame, this is one of my favorite restaurants in town. Be warned that if you park in the adjacent lot, you are being watched and listened to.
No one should ever eat there. The kitchen is disgusting for one just looked back there! Two The male owner likes to threaten people if you park in the wrong spot in the parking lot personally pulled a knife out on me. His mistake lol Not sure who owned the building but they need them out of the westcott area bad for the local community
I have eaten at a lot of Korean restaurants, this one is by far the worst. The food tastes like soap and I don't think their floors have been mopped in 10 years. The older lady is very nice, but the son (at least appears to be her son) is very rude and obnoxious. I will never eat here again. Good luck all
Customer service is good but the food has no taste. I’ve been to many other Korean restaurants around the country and they have very tasty marinated sauce. But this place the food tasted very bad. Also, this place is very hot and uncomfortable with no air conditioning. The food is a little overpriced too. I am calling attention to the management that hopefully they will make the necessary changes.
Rudest waitstaff I’ve ever had, and I’m always kind to waitstaff. He literally kicked us out for taking “too long” to eat when the restaurant was empty. And he refused to apply the tax exemption to our tax exempt credit card. We were there for just over an hour and paid the extra money after giving up on explaining it to him. The worst part is, we were having lunch with a prospective grad student for the university and we’re trying to recruit her to a program and show her how fun Syracuse can be.
There were many things wrong about this place but the one that stands out is the forced tips and trying to extract more money from anyone. Doesn’t matter if its student who do part time or experienced professionals. Food was just on par. Be careful!
Too much flies above the food ,no matter we moved to another table, the flies follow , I kept waved my hand to make sure they don’t touch my face, but one fly still stand on my short ribs and start to eat.We had talk to the old lady here, she knows this situation but seems didn’t plan to fix this.I can’t stand this,so disgusting… this is the second time I come here, last time the old lady messed up the bill of tables and took the charge more than we should pay, even though she come up to solved this before we got on the uber, but she refused to refund the 20% tip of the higher bill of the table she messed up we paid. I think this stored does not deserve any tip.
The owner of this establishment is a very angry and delusional little man. If my encounter with him in the parking lot today is indicative of how he typically treats others in the community, it’s no wonder the windows of his restaurant have been smashed. For context: I must have parked in a spot that he felt entitled to - which was in no way intentional. Instead of leading with kindness and simply asking if I could move my car, I was met with anger, hostility, and confrontation. When I suggested that he took a breath and examined how he was treating me, that’s where the manipulation and gaslighting began. This is the kind of behavior that does not belong in our community - nor should it be patronized. People that treat others like this do not deserve success.
Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience at this restaurant. One of the older female employees treated me in a very disrespectful way. Her attitude and the way she spoke to customers were completely unprofessional. This left a very negative impression, and I hope the management pays attention to improving their customer service
I spent $30 on sweet and sour pork on Ubereats and it was 90% breading and every single piece of pork was burnt. The sauce also had cucumbers in it and not a single pineapple. I’ve ordered from them before and they gave me half a container of soup and soggy noodles. Do don’t buy from them if ur Korean and are expecting actual Korean food. THIS IS NOT KOREAN FOOD
Ordered tteokbokki, ramen, tangsuyuk. The tteokbooki was watery and sweet rather than spicy. The ramen was average, and tangsuyuk was just fried chicken dipped in honey. Additionally, they were trying to take forceful tips.
Hi. I want to preface my review. The food here was really really good. But after our experience on 9/11/2025, I will never go here again. My husband and I were driving thru Syracuse on the way to Canada. We stopped here for dinner on the way because they have a few vegan options which we really appreciated. I was sitting down at the table on the phone when my husband came back into the restaurant and alerted me that one of the co-owners came up to him and told him to leave aggressively thinking that my husband was a loiterer. There was a loud concert going on nearby but we weren't attending it. Just wanting to get food. My husband responded angrily outside but wasn't threatening because it was really an audacious thing to do and the owner approached angrily and did not apologize. It escalated from there and the owner demanded that we leave. His mother - who was cooking and also likely the other owner - was mortified at her son's behavior and we were forced to witness her take off her crocs and beat him with it as well as the broom and scream in Korean. It was obviously that this wasn't his first time treating paying customers this way. I paid for the food and asked for it to go and was peaceful and respectful the entire time. As we were leaving, my husband and the aggressive owner had another spat in the parking lot next door to the restaurant and he threatened to call the cops and lied and said that we were being aggressive. It simply wasn't the case and we got in the car and left. A shame really since the food was really good. But I cannot get behind treating people this way. This would have never happened otherwise have escalated if the owner didn't come in hot and accuse my husband of loitering in front of the restaurant. His behavior was hurtful and the other staff apologized profusely for him. Please reconsider the way you talk to people. Your behavior was shameful.
I just had one of the worst eating experiences of my life. I ordered the Kkanpunggi chicken and what I received was a stringy mass of fried dough covered in sauce. As I started to eat it, I realized there was almost no chicken in it at all and couldn't even continue chewing because the dough was so thick and overcooked. I had to spit out my mouthful, and I am not a picky eater. The quality of the food has gone severely down over the past 2 years, even though the prices have gone higher. I will never eat here again.
