A rare Northeastern Chinese Korean restaurant. The owner is ethnically Korean, and both the Korean dishes and the Northeastern Chinese dishes are done exceptionally well.

Very well prepared kebabs made from a variety of fresh meats and vegetables. Standard fare as well, but the grilled kebab is the specialty and delicious.

Unique Northern Chinese and Korean cuisine- the name means "Sunny Countryside " and the interior is modeled to look like an old Chinese countryside tavern.

Wonderful food in an unpretentious, simple place. We ordered an assortment of different dishes between the four of us and every single one was outstanding. The beef hot pot was delicious beyond words. The service was friendly, caring, attentive. I cannot wait to go back!

J
Jordan Williams

Expensive!! But super delicious! Seriously the best Korean food I've had in a long time. Very authentic, but you pay for it. Actually the menus aren't accurate and they charged more for everything than was on the menu but I don't even care. 50$ per person and totally worth it. Get the pork intestines!

J

My family and I visited Yang Din Chun after driving by during the holidays and it was the best food I’ve ever had. I was so full but I could not stop eating. Our server was extremely nice and very patient. We can’t stop raving about our dinner selections. Sorry we didn’t get a chance to take pictures of our food but it was so damn delicious and we couldn’t wait to dive in. Can’t wait to visit again.

S

Really great authentic Chinese food. Dumplings were phenomenal and homemade. If I lived here this would be my go to. Not American over greasy little flavor Chinese food but they have that if that’s what you want and it’s probably pretty good too. Recommending to a few people I know

Great place for authentic Chinese cuisine. Food was delicious and plentiful. It is like a topas place but not small dishes. Instead they are medium to large plates to share. Just had a braised sweet&sour whole fish ( and it started out as a live fish that is kept in a large fish tank at the front of the restaurant, along with a lobster tank and a crab tank.) Also had a dish with sautéed green bean and riblets. Will go back again to try more of their dishes and their kabobs ( intestines, heart, and other meats.) Service was excellent too.

N
Nancy Radecki

Delicious, authentic Chinese food. Just wish they had descriptions on their online menu. Unique white rice - stickier with yellow flecks (don't know what this is), very tasty.

R
Robert Clark IV

This place was amazing! It has some unique dishes as well as traditional. We went with a party of six and shared SOOO much food! We had no less than 4 of the expansive Kabob menu (chicken, beef, lamb, prawn) several starters (seafood potatoe pancakes was amazing!) As well as several main courses (kung pow chicken, spicey tofu, orange chicken, fried beef). Just go, try something new!

J

This may be my new favorite restaurant!! The braised pork shoulder is absolutely amazing!! I have bought my mom and grandmother here twice now, and even my finicky grandmother enjoys and approves of this restaurant.

This is The True Northeast Style of Chinese restaurant in Syracuse area. I give it Five ⭐️ ⭐️ 🌟 🌟 🌟. I am from Northeast China so I know what the Northeast Style means. Found this place through Google maps and was so surprise to find such authentic north east region chinese cuisine. Friendly servants and excellent good food.

J

This is an authentic asian restaurant. The menu is similar to what you would see in Queens NY, which has a massive asian population. They have standard syracuse fare but also have a wide selection of exciting and well prepared choices. If your pallete prefers cheap General Tso chicken, go to the mall for greasy fast food. If you enjoy a higher culinary level, this is worth a visit

d
darrin fratus

Authentic Chinese food. In case you're not so authentic as to try blood rice sausage, they do have Americanized Chinese dishes as well. Well. But it's more fun to eat Chinese food as the Chinese eat it. Kung Pao chicken was excellent because of the sauce. Wife had the raw beef with spiced radish. The rice sausage was not advertised as being blood sausage, but that is what it was. Also quite tasty.

Our son and daughter-in-law took us here for our 50th wedding anniversary. We like to try new things and they had been there several times. Food is phenomenal and everything we chose was fantastic and we shared. Food was fresh and the presentations were colorful. Plenty of choices. Vegan dishes are available. Reasonable prices. Handicap accessible. Free parking. Service was very professional. Highly recommend!!

Great food, imoressive price. Got 4 meat courses and 3 vegetable courses split family style for $22.50/person, excellent value for the quality. Try the sauteed spicy chicken if you like triple pepper chicken from China Cafe. Real ones know.

Me and my wife came here for lunch at around 3:30 and not a lot of people were here BUT the food was delicious. They welcomed my ESA here which was great!!! We all felt really welcomed! :) I wish I could rate this 100/100! I recommend the Rice noodle dishesn

C

We love it here. We only come into Syracuse about once a month, but we have a hard time ever trying any other restaurants now that we've found Yang di Chun. The lamb skewers are incredible, the eggplant, potato, and peppers in garlic sauce is to die for, and they used to have an eggplant fried rice that I miss so much. We get plain egg fried rice now though, and it's also absolutely amazing. It has a bit of a Korean flair and they bring you mung beans and daikon kimchi as banchan, both of which are great. When it's cold, they also bring out complimentary hot tea. If you want incredible food that tastes like you've died and gone to heaven, you should try it. If you don't, well... yes you do and you should still try it! Yum.

J
Jennifer

Lamb skewers were great, I’d say they’re comparable to the ones in Flushing NY. The deep fried green beans were also tasty. The chicken skewers were alright, I’d stick to lamb. Overall very tasty. Yes they add on 15% service fee/tip to the check so you just pay whatever is on the tab exactly.

Let’s get this out of the way: the location is suspicious as hell. Smack dab in what looks like the forgotten roadside of Erie Blvd, you might wonder if you’re walking into a trap, or at least a 黑店 straight out of black myth wukong. The building looks like it hosted a buffet in 2005 and hasn’t been dusted since. Inside? A time capsule of Northeast Chinese aesthetic: shiny brick walls, plastic plants, plastic lobsters in blue tanks, and posters of spicy dishes staring at you like propaganda. Booths give you the privacy of a mafia negotiation—fitting, given our waiter looked like a retired bodyguard from Flushing: slicked-back hair, big chin, tanned like a Hainan beach bum. But plot twist: he was incredibly kind, full of recommendations, and proudly announced he had just moved upstate from Queens. ⸻ Now, the food. Oh, the food. Spare Ribs with Potato and String Beans: This was the crown jewel. Hearty chunks of bone-in pork, tender but still chewy, steeped in a Northeast-style broth. Surrounding them were planks of golden fried potato, sweet corn, and green chili peppers swimming in umami and mild spice. Like a Manchurian winter stew but kissed with southern flair. Worth the price? Honestly, yes. Lamb Liver Skewers: Charred, fatty, crusted in cumin and chili flakes. Each bite had that campfire aroma and street-food soul. You only get two per order, so order four if you have friends. Or don’t. Cold Dishes & BBQ Menu: We didn’t try everything, but the massive menu hits every essential: from cumin pork intestines to sauerkraut hotpot and sizzling fish heads. Prices are steep ($23–$39 for meats), but portions are family-style and flavors are deep, nostalgic, and unapologetically Northern. The Verdict: Yes, it’s weirdly located. Yes, it looks shady. Yes, your wallet might cry. But this is some of the best, most authentic Dongbei BBQ you’ll find outside of Queens. It’s a place that rewards the adventurous, the homesick, or the simply hungry.

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in America. The dishes are super delicious, traditional and classic . The same taste as the one I tried when I was young in China. If you want a d true Chinese taste you must go for it!

Oliver W
Oliver W

Great spices, good char and smoke on the barbecue skewers. It tastes super traditional and is reminiscent of street skewers and beer I'd grab late nights or after work. This is the kind of food that is meant to enjoyed in groups and with some beer to aromatize the spices and smoke in the meat. Prioritize the skewers and dry/spicy options on the menu as this place specializes in that. As is traditional in Chinese restaurants, they offer a wide expanse of options that may not reflect their specialty. I hope this place takes off and they can continue to grow/improve their service. I will be bringing friends here in the future.

The BEST dumplings, oh my goodness. Both steamed and fried were phenomenal. Big fan of the fried rices (eggplant, beef, egg are what we recently had), so many and so flavorful without being too salty.

Very good Dungeness crab, glad we stumbled across this restaurant. You can only find this kind of food in bigger cities like NYC or Toronto where the larger population of Asian resides. Highly recommended and will definitely goes back!!

J
Jayden Lin

Food is good. The menu is a bit overwhelming(in a good way). The servers are okay I guess, but the wait is way too long. You wait for 30 min, and then you have to ask the waiter to speed up the food. I dont know how bad it is for takeout. I would recomend the dough drop egg cabbage soop though. Overall, I WOULD go again, but it wouldn't be my go to place Edit: that 30 minute night was an exception, today was awesome, the food was great, overall, inch it up a star boyz!

X
Xin Miao Lin

I have been to this place only 1 time, so could not really give any detailed review. I think that it is on the pricey side, the dishes are delicious. But the restaurant is severely understaffed because we waited forever to place an order.

J
Juno Siu

Food is decent. There boss is very talkative and friendly although consistency can be an issue. Price is a bit on the higher end but seeing is spacious and private with a clean bathroom.

nice service and good atmosphere, however food suggestion by waiter was questionable. if you think you know what you're doing then order yourself. also got bullied for not speaking Chinese(im chinese, guess it makes sense) -- overall pretty satisfied

Mark Meadvin

This is truly genuine Chinese food, like you could usually only find in a big city "China Town." You will feel a little lost with the menu unless your quite knowledgeable about genuine Chinese dishes -- I was there with an Asian friend who grew up Asia and helped me select foods he thought I could handle (the wait staff, while quite attentive, was not oriented to guiding a neophyte through the exotic menu). The food was expertly prepared, and many of the dishes are VERY spicy. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience.

The food is authentic Chinese that is good. The service was also good. Nothing is notable either way, and there is a much better option nearby.

S

The server and the host are extremely friendly and attentive. They deserve 5 stars. However, the food is way too salty. For food would only get two stars from me.

Haotian Wu
Haotian Wu

I’ve visited this place twice. While the food is decent, the service leaves much to be desired. When they get busy, it feels like customers are often ignored. That said, the food tastes great and is definitely worth a try. The cuisine originates from northern China, making it quite different from the more common southern or Fuzhounese-style Chinese food found in the U.S. If you’re here just for the food, this spot is worth a visit.

D
Danny H

The food was good, but very overpriced for the small portions you get. I suggest going somewhere less pricey.

J
Jingjin

The stir-fried dishes were good, but the grilled skewers were really dry and not tasty, worst skewers I’ve had actually... The seasoning was odd and lacked flavor. Not recommend ordering them.

M
Marielle F

This place is insanely overpriced for what it is and where it is located. We went in thinking we could get some tasty Korean BBQ but it turned out we couldn't afford any of the meat skewers they offer. Some of the skewers are single skewers priced at $8-16 and their special was for plain marinated beef skewers for $22 for 10 skewers. We ended up getting a couple plates of noodles at $12 a serving that was really mediocre but was at least a large serving. The inside was really adorably decorated though. Each booth was surrounded by Japanese style rice paper looking walls and felt intimate. The staff was also really nice and spoke English well. The beer selection was lacking, no tap beer and just bottles of typical stuff like Corona and Sapporo.

M
Michelle Johnson

The restaurant was empty, but noone asked if we needed anything. They just kept cleaning. Had to find someone to give us our bill. Food was just okay. I hated their kimchi, it was so vinegary. Asked for added tofu, got a one inch piece. Nor happy with this place.

O
O B

The food itself wasn't as good as I'd hoped for but it wasn't the reason for the 2 stars. It is actually for the unbearably horrible service. Long, long wait times for someone to greet you and bring you waters. They don't even speak to you or welcome you into the restaurant. It's a very different service culture than I'd expected for the prices we were paying for food. We ordered chicken wing kebabs (blood still running through it), spicy chicken (wasn't too bad), corn (horrible and dry), fried rice (very good) and prawns (good). The food doesn't all come out at the same time, it's like one dish at a time and a long wait time between each dish. Our waters were never filled and we didn't get enough napkins. I was excited to try this restaurant due to the reviews. However, the service was so bad it ruined everything for me. I will never come back to this place again.

Sharon Zhang
Sharon Zhang

Not that good as we expected. The food just so so. And the price is pretty expensive. And they automatically add 15% tips on top of your bill. Not very nice for that part.

Yuqi Mao

Food is decent if you know what you want here. There is a lot of fried stuff, and the taste is authentic. Service minimal due to likely understaffing. Went with family for lunch, in the middle of this heat wave, the air conditioning was not on, that significantly dampened the enjoyment of the food. Price is reasonable for some items, but does feel a bit high for what you get. There is also an undisclosed 15% extra service fee that is automatically applied to the bill (we were a party of 4, nowhere did it say on the menu or in the restaurant that we would be charged this fee, and certainly we were not informed.). We are not in the area much, but would probably have to hesitate before going back, even though the food overall tasted decent. (If you want a good authentic spicy fried chicken dish, the La Zi Ji is excellent.)

Jh Yao
Jh Yao

The food was okay, you have to pick certain dish to enjoy the taste. The amount was big tho. As soon as they are busy, you don’t get ANY service, and the attitude was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad, all waiters were contemptuous. And you can obviously feel that that they are slacking on food as well, one of our pot was burnt and another dish was way too salty… I have been to this place many time, and we drove from Ithaca, don’t think it worth anymore. Don’t recommend if you want nice service and care, especially when they are busy!!

G

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!! I’ve Been here a lot of times. Their attitude is terrible and they charge 15 percent tips without inform you. What got on my nerves was that they served uncooked food and they refused to gave me refund even though I came here like thousands times.

J

When I went to Yang Di Chun BBQ, the atmosphere was ok but the food and service was very bad. First the food, I ordered the lobster and other stuff it was bad at the time but when I went home it was normal I brushed my teeth and stuff but at 2-3am I ran to the bathroom to throw up, when I looked at my throw up I saw the food. The service was bad every time I asked for something like a refill he is like drink it all but it was only ice and when we order the guy looked like he was annoyed also the people’s was super rude.

R
Rem Mg

!!!!They automatically add in 15% tip at the end!!!! Don’t tip extra or you’ll end up paying ~40% tip for extremely bad service. Be prepared to wait 2 hours for your food. They have like 2 waiters for the entire restaurant and you have to literally chase them down if you need anything. Food is average. Do not recommend will not come back again.

J
Julian Berman

Don’t come here if you’re looking for anything with BBQ sauce… $17 for chicken skewers. Smallest cup of tea I’ve ever seen seen with 0 refills… waiter assured my friend that there were no nuts in the food and then came back after they started eating to say there actually are nuts I’m the food…

W
Wei Zhao

Service was terrible because there was no service. Additionally there was a mandatory 15% service fee. Please don't get me wrong, if service is great I will personally tip them 20-25% of the bill. I just don't like to be forced to pay for service when it is terrible. Plus the food was expensive. I order two plates of skewer (about 3-4 stick) with little meat on it. Overall terrible experience.

S
Sumoe S

My husband and I both got food poisoning after dining here. Please check the temperature of your rice to avoid making people sick…

V
Vicky Wei

Food was good, but overpriced given the portion of some dishes… The most unacceptable thing was being automatically charged a 15% so-called service fees and no one ever informed customers about it. PLEASE AVOID TIPPING 33% OR MORE!

C
Cheese On Taco

First, I need to clarify that I am not from other resturant. OMG Food is totally horrible. Price is ridiculously unfair. Their BBQ is even worse than other dishes. As a Chinese, I highly doubt that the lamb BBQ is as worse as my dog won't eat. The lamb soup, the black lamb hair is on the skin, Probably more than my hair on my head. 100% This is my worst tried resturant in my life. After eat here, I feel guity of saying other Chinese resturants are not good. The night I ate here was a nightmare.

L Qing
L Qing

Honestly quite disappointing. The grilled lamb skewers didn’t even taste like they were grilled. The dish recommended by the staff (stir-fried bacon with snow peas) came out clumped together with starch. The server even added water halfway through the meal, which felt odd. To top it off, the bill had a mandatory 15% service charge. Definitely won’t be coming back!!!

Lil Sure
Lil Sure

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant when it came to paying the bill. The staff did not proactively provide the receipt at checkout, and I later realized they had already included an 18% service charge in the bill without informing me. On top of that, I unknowingly added a 15% tip, which means I ended up paying over 33% in tips overall. This lack of transparency felt very dishonest and left me with a bad impression. Customers deserve to know exactly what they’re paying for, and it’s unfair to sneak in charges without clearly communicating them. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to others unless they improve their billing practices.
