I ordered take out and it was ready when I arrived. It was excellent!
I loved the food! The babaganouj was very flavorful! I wanted to lick the plate!
Best Greek food in the Northeast . Service was excellant.
Awesome food, good service. Almost forgot to leave a review.
Great food at fair prices. Had a relaxing and quiet Sunday dinner. The food tastyed fresh and the wait wasn't long at all.
Tried and true middle eastern food. If you don't know what to order get the Munjed's platter, then you get some of everything. Say hi to Munjed for me!
This place has a great atmosphere, delicious food, and very reasonable prices. If you enjoy Mediterranean food then this place is well worth it 🙂
Perfect service.... Very delicious food. Good for kids. Waitress was amazing. The chef is super nice.
Food is always excellent!! Staff are extra friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.
Food is excellent. This restaurant does a great job of supporting local groups and alumni.
Probably one of my favorites. Amazing Greek food located on Westcott. And they always have something on tap that surprises me
I got 3 meals out of my souvlaki plate! easy to eat at several available tables.
One of my favorites in Syracuse. Went back after many years away and shawarma was just as excellent as I remember.
Laid back lowkey and really good food. Had dinner with friends. Everyone enjoyed the food and service.
Amazing middle eastern food...the best babaganoush, shawarma, hummus, tatziki, all of it! Go get some!
The best middle eastern food in Syracuse, great food, I definitely recommend, it's a place you must eat while in Syracuse.
I love the food here. It has been my favorite for over 3 decades.
Amazing Arabic food, best place in Syracuse to get food. Don't miss it, great food and a good bar.
Best Mediterranean food in Syracuse! The new location has great atmosphere as well.
Go eat here! Get the baklava cheese cake. Awesome family owned business :)
Great Middle Eastern food. We ordered the hummus, tzaziki sauce with pita chips, a chicken salad and a chicken gyro. Very very good. Will definitely be back!
This is the ONLY place to go for Middle Eastern food in Syracuse. Everything is delicious from stuffed grape leaves (dolmas) to the pasticcio. You will certainly find your favorites too.
Ordered spanakopita as starter, was not as temperature hot as I thought it might be served however was very tasty and well presented. Importantly, the Gyro dinner and Kiftka wrap both hit the mark ... plus fresh cut fries (plain and sweet potatoes) were hot out of the fryer
Food was great as always. It was a slow night when I went in. The waitress was friendly and attentive. I recommend the Munjeds platter for someone who isn't sure what they want.
This Greek/Middle Eastern restaurant is flawless. The small, cozy room is well decorated and soft middle eastern music lulls the patrons into a peaceful ambiance that sets the perfect stage for the transporting experience of the food. I think the mousaka is the best to be found in Syracuse and the hummus is second to none. The charred pita, falafel and spanikopita are reliable enough to take out of towners, fussy friends and Greek relatives with confidence. I loved the meal - and I suspect anyone - even non-fans - will find the tastes and smells exhilarating and satisfying. We're believers!
Good prices. Great food. Friendly service. The 4-sample appetizer is enough for a meal. Get the Lebanese beer, too.
Best middle eastern/Greek food in town hands down. One of the best places to eat in Syracuse,a true hidden gem, with lots of great choices of fresh food. I would definitely recommend it.
Sam is the best Middle Easter/Greek food I have had, period. Try the Grecian Delight Salad or the Gyro Wrap, but make sure to get homemade Hummas
Whoever said that lunch is boring has not been to Munjed's. I had shish kabob on pita for 8 bucks - yummy, satisfying and affordable!
The food is always wonderful, and the service is always sincere. Try the cheesecake, superb. The hummus and falafel are savory, delightful and pure satisfaction.
I love King David's but I think Munjeds is a little bit better...food is soooooo good
They always have good food. I've been visiting them since they were on the other side of wescott st. So it's been a good 38 years. They are consistent.
Came here for graduation lunch this previous May, great, quick service for a table of 7, everything was great
I live in Buffalo nowo but, when I come back to Syracuse, I MUST go to Munjed's and get take out for my whole family. 😃Friendly people and very delicious food!
The best middle Eastern restaurant in Syracuse. The hummus is far better then King Davids. Small relaxing atmosphere. local owner, proud of his food. Been going there most of my life!
I just went to this restaurant for the first time an hour ago and it was absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious, the waitress was really friendly and the architecture / design was beautiful. I would reccommend this place to anyone who enjoys trying new food.
Food was amazing! Our waitress was very nice and took great care of my friend and I. I didn't catch her name though but she had me at baklava cheesecake 😁
Great food ! No wait ! We were on our way to a wescott theater concert and every restaurant had a wait time of 30 minutes, except this place ! The food was great so we couldn't understand why. Love it !While visiting Syracuse, got local reco to visit Wescott street for good restaurant options - we picked Mediterranean cuisine and it did not disappoint.
My wife and I looked for med. food in Syracuse when we were on the Thruway going home to Canandaigua. Munjeds had the highest rating, and we just added to it. 2 gyro wraps, med. salad w falafel, tsaziki and rice. Great meal!! They also directed us to thornden park where we sat in the car and ate. (Hot outside and thunderstorm). Glad I took their card as well be back.
Wonderful family-owned Mediterranean restaurant next to the Syracuse University campus. I had 4 mazza (appetizers) combination with Hommus, Feta cheese and olives, Tabouli and grape leaves; it was terrific. There's a great bar, a game room, a party room, and a couple of booths. I'll definitely go back for more.
Food is fantastic! Our server, Kimberly, was so much fun. So glad we met the owner/ chef and the previous owner. They are really great guys... down to earth, you can tell they take pride in their work and love what they do! Keep up the good work, ya'll. We can't wait to see you again real soon!
First time ordering our take-out, and won't be the last. Also want to grab a booth someday when that time comes. The food was excellent, fresh, hot, and delicious. This is seriously good food that someone cooks for you, and it feels that way. Like you just had something special. We enjoyed Kifta, Chicken Gyro dinners, baba and hummus and Baklava that was just incredible. Thank you!
Great service and polite staff. The food is exquisite and the wait time is short. My sister and I absolutely love going to this place. I've been to my fair share of Mediterranean restaurants and I can say that this one blows the rest out of the water.
Munjeds' food is excellent. Love Kifta kabobs and Majidas chicken platter. Best hummus around. Samer and Debbie always treat customers like family. Highly recommend.
We've been looking for good, Greek food since moving to Syracuse 7 years ago, and now we've found it. The gyros were all we have experienced in other parts of the country, yet this restaurant is just a few blocks from our home. I highly recommend this restaurant, and look forward to the end of the Pandemic so we can dine in here.
Munjed’s is great, I’ve been a couple times now and they haven’t let me down. Great people and the food is very reasonably priced and taste very good!
Delicious, authentic, Mediterranean food! I always opt for the Majida's Chicken Combo- the chicken is succulent, the falafel is perfectly crispy on the outside and seasoned well, tabouleh salad and hummus also excellent. Service is great, staff is warm, friendly and welcoming.
Ordered Munjed’s for a work event recently and the food was AMAZING! Highly recommend.
Phenomenal! Stopped in and placed an order for takeout, service was top notch. Food was amazing! I will definitely be going back! Don't forget to try the baklava cheesecake 😃
Best mediterranean food in the area. Especially if you are a student near Wescott, I highly recommend. The inside is very nice looking in the food has always been delicious there or when I’ve got take out.
Had a haddock gyro for lunch. Was there early and place wasn't busy. Staff very attentive. Food so fresh and tasty. Pistachio baklava for dessert. Divine.
Absolutely superb! The food is so fresh, incredibly unique and consistent when it comes to quality always a treat! And do yourself a favor try the baklava cheesecake. Paradise with every bite!
Absolutely delicious. Attentive service. Large menu. Affordable prices. Everything from the spanakopita to the hummus to the chicken bowl we ordered had so much flavor.
Great service! Prices are great! You definitely get what you paid for!!! Food has so much flavor!!!
Absolutely love Mujed’s, the food is delicious, the staff if friendly and the restaurant and bar are spacious with nice character and Middle Eastern ambiance. My family and I have been going there for over 30 years and it’s still as wonderful as when we first started dining there. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but my favorites are shawarma, grape leaves, and falafel.
Ordered from them for the first time and it was absolutely incredible. My husband made a mistake and got me chicken instead of beef shawarma but it was still the best shawarma I’ve ever had and I will be back to try the beef soon.
Munjed's is a hidden gem for Mediterranean cuisine, offering fresh, flavorful dishes that keep customers coming back. From their perfectly seasoned shawarma to their creamy hummus and warm pita, every bite is a delight. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service make it a great spot for a casual meal or takeout. Whether you're craving a hearty gyro or a fresh falafel wrap, Munjed's delivers authentic flavors with a homemade touch.
Very unassuming exterior but the inside is nicely decorated and very clean. Prices are very reasonable and large portions. Super friendly service and great recommendations. Lots of vegetarian options. Will definitely be coming back.
Such a lovely spot! We went for the fish fry, and my fish sandwich was absolutely to die for. The fries were some of the best seasoned fries I'd had in a long time -- and you can just tell everything is cooked with love. I'm excited to go back and try even more!
Always enjoyable due to fresh ingredients and authentic taste. Get the soulvaki and baba ganoush
Wow so delicious. Great staff great billiards and dart room
I enjoyed the food here very much. I'm from the area and I do prefer King David's but still good atmosphere good food and an amazing area of Syracuse. Give it a try
Service was a touch slow a bit slow but curtious. The food was great. Get the souvlaki wrap, so good.
Great place for tasty food. Gyro's are great! Lots of vegetarian options, local brews and good service.
Munjed's is awesome! Authentic cuisine. Reasonable prices and portions. Beautiful interior space in a great location.
Very good. We were there with a large wedding party and they did a great job
Authentic homemade food, very reasonable prices. I would eat here again.
I've only become a fan of Mediterranean food over the past couple years but I finally visited Munjed's recently. It was outstanding, best I've ever had. One thing I've never liked was tahini sauce, I always found it to be a subpar flavor/experience. After getting their massive sampler plate (a great way to taste test a new med restaurant) I thought the food was so outstanding I decided to actually try their tahini sauce, since they seemed to get the flavors better than anybody else. I was surprised to find out tahini sauce was something I could actually enjoy, in fact loved. I can't begin to say how much I loved the food here, and I think it's a gem that many people overlook because of it's location and small size.
Very pleasant experience, the food was very tasty, servings were generous! We didn't go away hungry! The falafel from the Sides menu were outstanding!! Will definitely go back there.
My wife and I got takeout from here, we had received gift cards and we're excited to try Mediterranean food. We weren't disappointed, a variety of all sorts of Mediterranean foods from different countries and cultures, a very unique and delicious experience, if you have never tried Mediterranean food before this is a great place to start.
It was delicious said my husband. My husband had beef steak souvlaki, salad, and pita bread. He enjoyed it. I had chicken chawirma, salad, falafel, hummus and pita bread. If my meal was chicken was hot and tender it would be a perfect 5. It was good and I am so full.
I love the loaded fries from here, but I just got a take out order. I asked for no onions, I hate onions and having to pick them out of my food. The dish was loaded with big chunky pieces of onions and no tomatoes. Just check your orders when you pick up. Otherwise, everything else was great.
Friendly staff. The lamb gyro is good. I think they are a bit overpriced.
Decent bar options, food is average. It won't wow you, but it's an acceptable fix if you are craving kabobs, etc.
Ok I was in mood of eating Arabic food and looked it up on Google and found this Arabic restaurant called MunJed's and ordered a Chicken Choama. I ordered the food and exactly after two minutes I have my dish in front of me. first of all no way even in hell you can grill a whole chicken breast in two minute seems to me chicken breast was done and stick in the microwave, some Hummus and salad and pita bread on side.I have tasted Arabic food before and this was worst Arabic food I ever have tasted it was waste of money. That was not Arabic food, Arabic food is fresh has tons of flavor, spices. waste of money waste of money. I will never go back.
The woman who served me was friendly and attentive. However, I was not impressed with the food - I have had middle eastern food in various places and I did not like their hummus, pita, or gyro platter very much. Atmosphere is nice, it is a good environment to sit in - features some middle eastern decorations and music.
Today while at the NYS Fair we visited Munjed’s booth. My friend ordered a gyro salad and I ordered a gyro with fries. Service was fast and prices seemed reasonable for fair food. When the food came out, my friend questioned the meat on her salad. We were told the gyro meat was a beef and lamb mix — something she hadn’t realized, as she cannot eat lamb and thought there would be a choice of meats. We understand this was partly a misunderstanding on our end, but when she mentioned her dietary restriction, a cook in the back made a very unprofessional comment: “Then don’t order it.” That response was unnecessary and disrespectful. They “remade” the salad, but instead of fully preparing a fresh one, they just removed the meat and replaced it with chicken, leaving behind bits of gyro meat mixed in with the vegetables. This turned her off from eating it completely. Meanwhile, I tried my fries and they were so oversalted they were inedible. When my friend requested a refund, the owner offered to remake the food, but by that point her appetite was gone. Instead of handling the situation with care, the owner became argumentative and confrontational. Ultimately, she only refunded the items that weren’t eaten, and it felt like a battle to get even that. For fairness: my gyro itself tasted fine. However, the lack of professionalism, customer care, and the dismissive attitude we encountered left a very bad impression. While they did issue a refund in the end, it was only after we pointed out that vendors at the NYS Fair are expected to uphold certain standards. Overall, I would not consider visiting this booth again. A little more understanding, respect, and attention to customer experience would go a long way.
Got her to pick up food for a delivery but they said they didn't get the order so I had to wait longer.
Okay, the food is good but i must say the chunks of chicken they give u are not Shawerma. ...plus the hummus is too watery. Not what i was expecting at all....
I did not care for the food or the ambiance. I did expect more based on reviews but was sadly disappointed when I went there. Do not plan on going back.
I ordered take-out and waited 15 minutes while my food sat on the counter because the sole staff got the names wrong. My pastitso had no taste. Everything had a balsmic sauce dribbled over it- yuck. The babaganouj had a distinct burned flavor. I didn't expect green pepper on the salad. Then, the smallest piece of baklava I've seen. Only the hummus was acceptable. Don't bother.
Maybe it was because i doordashed but the food was very overpriced for the quality. the pita i ordered was ice cold and came in a plastic package from the store; so it’s not remotely made there. the $1 sides are barely enough to dip a single pita in- not worth it!! the hummus was okay but nothing special or great. the greek fries were completely soaked through. absolutely soggy all the way through. the toppings were nowhere near sliced up enough to eat with hands and the fries even when heated up and made crispy were eh in terms of flavor. the only reason i gave them two stars was the desperate hope that everything tastes better fresh despite placing my order and receiving it all within 20 minutes. do better or sell cheaper.
Terrible food, generic frozen food reheated at best. Very rude. Totally overpriced. Would not recommend.
I ordered both chicken and beef shawarma pitas and they both have nothing to do with shawerma .. The meat pieces are big chewy and cold. And the pita bread is very old I don't recommend this place for anyone
Horrible taste, cold food and over expensive . If you really want to taste good authentic Middle East food, go to Sumer restaurant and try food there. I mostly go to Sumer it was closed on Sunday and I tried Munjed. They even charge me for small garlic sauce which is free at Sumer.
The bread is very old and the meat is cold in the shawerma. There is more onions than meat in the pitas. This has nothing to do with Arabic food The service was very slow and it took half an hour to get the food overall wouldn't recommend it for anyone that is looking for a good experience in Arabic food This is a shame to the reputation of Arabic food
My experience at this restaurant was very unsatisfactory. I ordered shish Kabo and the meat was extremely salty and chewy. The service was really unprofessional. I don't know what else to say. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Changed the rating to one star and a new review since my first visit. I won't be back. We've had several carry-out meals from Munjed's that have been pretty bad. This was the last one though. Everything was cold. It was cooked, but cold. I bit onto an falafel and it was icy. Really disappointing. Somehow, the sweet potato fries had the consistency of jerky. Not crunchy, but tough and rubbery. Hard. And cold. I live only 5 minutes from Westcott so there is no way the food cooled off that fast. It came out cold. The first visit and original review: Excellent carry-out. Very nice menu with the full complement of middle eastern fare. Everything was fresh and well prepared. Had the Kifta which was seasoned well and nicely balanced between the skewers, hummus, and salad. Wife had a chicken gyro plate which was also quite tasty. The coup d'grace was the baklava which was made local. The wife and I have made our own which we prefer to other restaurants but since finding Munjed's, we won't have to make it ourselves again. I'm looking forward to going on for a meal with they re-open for table service.
I ordered a Greek chicken salad tonight. Tonight was the worst and I am so disappointed. I called in and informed staff who told me the chef says this is always how our salads are made. No refund no nothing. This was not my first Greek chicken salad the first couple were delicious this is the reason I returned. I paid $14 for a salad with gigantic chunks of feta cheese, vegetables and hard chicken that I had dice up myself and was not editable. Customer service was out the window. So disappointed I will never return there again. The worst.
The service wasn't bad, I wish I could say the same for the food. I will never get food there again. I got the beef shawarma dinner and could not be more disappointed. Dry, stringy, over cooked, way over salted, served with runny hummus, a bit of iceburg lettuce and a basket of very stale pita bread. In the past I have had some very good food at Munjed's but it seems like they don't care anymore.
So sad about my experience here earlier tonight. Gyro was COLD. Ingredients included stems, onion skin, etc. Wine had clearly been open days ago. Service was sympathetic but didn’t bring a hot gyro or anything like that. Shocked because there are so many many positive reviews.
