Have been here for the 2 for $22 chicken parm dinner and the sauerbraten. Both meals were very good. Staff is freindly and attentive. They are however weak on draft beer. Wine menu is pretty decent.
My favorite place to eat in the North Syracuse area. We always have great service and great food. I haven't tried their lunch menu yet but hope to soon. I still have dreams about their brown butter spaghetti with buttenrnut squash!
The service, the food, and the atmosphere always A+. We had baked ricotta and cheese topped mushroom appetizers. He had the baked cod, and I had the baked haddock. All of the dishes were delicious.
Service, excellent, as always! Meatballs, french fries, great ! Quiche & fresh fruit, perfect ! Food quality & quantity just right ! So enjoy their seafood dishes & salad varieties too ! Atmosphere always comfortable. One of The Best places to dine in the Cuse !!!!
A fantastic local spot for good food and warm atmosphere. Had a great meal here the other night!
The food was outstanding and reasonably priced. Our server, Rhonda, was hard working and efficient. The meatballs, penne a la vodka and garlic toast were the best I've had.
It is a nice place to visit and an upscale Italian eatery. And the food was great. There arancini (risotto balls) were tasty. The sea scallops & asparagus were done to perfection and the sauce was a nice compliment to the dish. I highly recommend this place.
One of my favorite places to meet my friends for a leisurely lunch! Dinner is great as well. Nestico's has awesome Italian cuisine and I have trouble deciding what to eat; it's all good! Check the Sunday paper for buy 1/get1 entrees!
Excellent food and ambiance. They don't hustle you out the door if you want to linger for talk. Our favorite place and I would recommend Nestico's to anyone who want's a great time. Especially good for spur of the moment dates!
Excellent experience! During this Covid era it's nice to go out and get great food, pleasant service and good prices. We have been going to Nestico's off and on since 2001 and it doesn't disappoint. Keep up the good work.
Placed an order yesterday afternoon for Lasagna and Pasta Pie. It came with a salad and a mini loaf of hot garlic bread! They threw in a container of butter and one of grated cheese! They meals were delicious and very generous! Normally when I have a craving for Italian I go to Francesca's in Liverpool that is much closer to where I live! The lasagna and pasta pie are all you get...no salad..no bread! I know where I will be taking my cravings to from now on! And also the customer service was excellent!
Wonderful experience every time my fiancé and I visit. The food, drinks and service are always consistent and high quality. We almost always have the same server who remembers us and our drink order when we dine which is a nice bonus.
Nestico's is the perfect place to stop for a great dinner or a drink. They have a wide variety of selections for any type of cuisine you may be looking for. Some great appetizers, including my favorite, French Onion Soup. They also have off menu specials, which expand even more off their standard menu. Their Sauerbraten is a nice option, but served only specific times. Finish off the meal with a delicious creme brulee or one of their other desert options. You are always treated well by the friendly staff and well taken care of during your dinner. I am a frequent visitor and definitely recommend them as a great dinner option.
We had a wonderful dinner here after an outpatient procedure nearby. We enjoyed the antipasta, fresh bread and then delicious meals of chicken parm and veal parm. We wrapped up with a delicious homemade cake and a creme broulle
We had some out of town guests come to visit. They wanted a family style atmosphere and Italian. Nestico's fits the bill. The food and service is great. We've been many times and they never disappoint.
As always...Nestico's did not disappoint. My daughter and I had dinner last night and our meals were incredible. I had the pasta pie and she had the lemon butter scallops and asparagus with angel hair pasta. Our server was great. Looking forward to going back soon.
When here on a whim, no reservation and they found a way to get us in. The service was both friendly and knowledgeable. The food was much better than expected at this price. Definitely recommend.
I called Nestico’s on a very short notice to accommodate a party of 20. This was for after a funeral. Peter, the owner, was absolutely amazing. He offered us accommodations and choice of small buffet or menu items. I was truly blown away at how genuine and caring he was on the phone to ensure we will be taking care of. Thank you Peter, we look forward to seeing you.
Excellent recommendation by our waitress to try the filet baguette sandwich for lunch! Perfect in every way, and quick turnaround for the order. I've had dinner here a number of times, but now I've found a new favorite lunch spot.
We’ve been going to Nestico’s regularly, every Tuesday since 2020. During Covid, it was hard feeling comfortable. Since being regulars now, we feel a bit like we have an extended family and are thankful for the consistent dinners and warm, friendly staff. Thank you for being our favorite!
I've been coming here as long as it's been open. Birthday's, anniversaries, just plain hungry, Friday haddock lunches, 1/2 price Mondays, there is always a reason to eat here. I have never ordered anything I didn't like. Pizza, pasta, salads, seafood, chicken, steak- it is all delicious. It is a great restaurant and the owner is always there, always involved, bussing tables, seating people, it's very well run. Treat yourself. Go to Nesticos.
First time there and i had a large party and from the first phone call to make the reservations, I felt at ease. Such amazing service and our server Dakota was just the best. Anyone looking for great service n food, i highly recommend you look no further.
Nice small local restaurant with a great menu for all. As a vegetarian I had many options. Service and food were excellent. Visited with friends from the area
My son and I enjoyed an early dinner and it was fabulous. Baked ricotta is my fave and the salads were so fresh! The atmosphere is always relaxed and service on point! Thank you!
This long-standing establishment is consistently good! The service and kitchen teams and innovative menu are awesome! Most notably, you get very reasonable pricing for a quality dining experience! I would highly recommend Nestico's for a great italian meal--dine in or take out!
The pleasant young lady who served us was very pleasant. We ordered the battered haddock. Upgraded to sweet potato fries and the gingered salmon with rice. The later gluten free. Don't think that I have ever had a bad meal here.
Nestico's is a great family owned local Italian/American restaurants. The staff is always super friendly and most night you can find the owner Peter helping out wherever he can. They have a variety of dishes available including a small specials menu that changes often. The food is always good and they are always accommodating to food allergens or changes when requested. They also have a cozy bar with a few tables and two large TV's for watching sports. Available during nicer weather is a small patio for outside dinning as well. If ever in the North Syracuse area this is a must stop place for a great casual and cozy experience.
The food was fantastic. Pay the money and get the pepper sauce on your calamari...YUM! We sat in a high top table in a cove by itself. Our server Rhonda was very laid back and knowledgeable. I had the Bolognese and you should too. My partner in crime had the lobster roll. I've never liked them before but this one was not saucy but simple clean and delicious. Lastly, the half bottles of wine are reasonable and very well selected for the menu. If you wondering, please try!
The food was impressive! The staff Supreme. We were the only people in the restaurant eating, we felt safe, we were separated appropriately but we could still communicate effectively. We were there celebrating the life of a dearly departed loved one that we says goodbye 👋 💔 😢 that day. Being there, however small, was something that will be remembered for a lifetime. 💜🤟
Arrived at this restaurant at 4:15pm & it was just about full for dinner! Ordered chicken parmesan & it was fantastic! It seems like everything is al a carte, so if you order extra things, you are charged for them, including extra sauce for your pasta. But the service was great & the staff kept checking in on you while you ate.
Enjoyed an amazing dinner with friends tonight at this wonderful restaurant. The owner is present and walks around checking on all of the patron’s experience. The food is incredible and the sauces…wow! We will definitely be back!!!
They will be closing due to retirement but another employee is taking over and revamping the restaurant toward the end of September 2025.
Best dinner I have ever had. Tried something new and I'm glad I did. The flavor was amazing!!!! No wait to go in on a Saturday. Not enough staff on but it was a small place. Be patient and enjoy the fresh made bread.
Been living in the area for about a year now, my wife and I finally decided to go to dinner here yesterday. Food came out quickly and tasted great. I got the sliced fillet with gorgonzola creme sauce. Cooked perfectly and the creme sauce was great. My wife got lobster mushroom fettuccini, and it came with a tin of lobster meat, also cooked perfectly. Not a bad price for the quality of the food you get. Glad we went, and we will definitely be back.
Love Love Love the food at Nestico's! Lunch and dinner alike, everything is absolutely delicious. The sauerbraten, served only a few days each month, is as close to my mom's as I've ever found. The soups are wonderful, the atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is very friendly. Perfect.
First time I had been and the whole experience was great. Our waitress was friendly, prompt and made sure you weren't lacking for anything. The ambience was really nice that evening with the fireplace lit and nice music in the background. I had the lobster fettuccine and it was really good. Also enjoyed a glass of Processco with Limoncello and it was delicious. Great evening, good food ,wonderful drinks and awesome company.
Consistently Excellent! Reasonably priced, exemplary staff and the customer service is the best. I highly recommend the Pasta Rosa and their unique pasta pie. They are the only place around that makes pasta pie! Never had a bad meal or even "just an okay" meal at Nestico's because their food is outstanding!
We were able to use the upstairs for a surprise birthday party for my Mother. Our server was great, and even doubled as a photographer for a few minutes. There were 12 people in our party, and everything was great, and fairly priced.
I ordered the chicken Riggies for 4 deal and it exceeded expectations. 3 people all ate 2 big plates and there is enough leftover for each of us to have 1 more tomorrow….. the salad was extremely fresh without a single spot of brown on any of the lettuce. Every tomato was ripened perfectly and the garlic bread had the perfect amount of crunch.Do not skip over this establishment in exchange for one of the chain places that will serve you food out of a plastic bag from the freezer and microwaved. It’s obvious the back of house staff truly cares about the quality of food they put out. Not to mention I ordered at peak dinner hour on a Saturday night. 5 stars ⭐️ for sure.
Went tonight for the first time and it was wonderful! Real neighborhood feel to it, in addition to delicious food. I had pasta pie and my husband had pasta bolognese-both delicious! Our server, Katie, couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. We recently relocated from NYC and this will be one of our regulars. I highly recommend.
We absolutely love this place! The food never disappoints, service is timely and friendly, the drinks are excellent (thanks to Erica, who also makes some of the desserts), and the atmosphere is charming. It's our favorite date night place. Some of our favorites are the baked ricotta appetizer, Utica greens, pasta pie, eggplant rollatini, and tenderloin medallions with risotto. If we could order a sampling of everything on the menu, we would!!! Run, don't walk to Nestico's!
My husband and I had dinner here last night and I highly recommend. Food wonderful, I had Aunt Josie special and he had pasta bolognese. Atmosphere is very cozy with a neighborhood feel. Our server, Katie, could not have been nicer or more accommodating. We will definitely be back
Excellent food! Great service! Great atmosphere and reasonable prices. Ashley was very nice and accommodated to our satisfaction. My husband and I are looking forward to coming back here and bring my parents.
Fabulous place that does everything right! Food and setting were both great and our waitress (Katie) was wonderful! Unfortunately they are closing end of September 2025 🥺 (though Congratulations on Retirement!) If the new owners keep it at least similar to quality and vibe it will be worth exploring.
For a first time visit, it was an excellent choice. Kim the bartender was so welcoming from the moment I came and sat down, introducing me to people at the bar and very helpful about everything. Wide selection of liquor and wine. The steak and risotto was fresh and tastey without being over seasoned. The tiramasu was fresh and light. I wish the outdoor patio was open but sitting at the bar was a riot. The owner came to sit at the end of the night and chat as well. I wish they stayed open later on a weekend (was a Saturday) as the bar was filled and everyone was having a great time! Either way, would definitely return, and Kim deserves a raise for the fun atmosphere she creates!
So we have ordered from Nestico's in the past, mostly either pick up or GrubHub. The food has always been very very good! Without getting into specifics, we ordered through GrubHub (our dog was dying from Cancer and we were going to have to have her put down, and just wanted some comfort food.) It was a bad experience, unfortunately. However the reason I'm leaving such a good review was the response from Nestico's when I called. Amanda was great in listening to our issues and doing everything she could to make it right. In the end she was going to mail a gift certificate to us and to our surprise Mr. Nestico himself personally delivered it to us with an apology! This is absolutely above and beyond customer service. Not only have they retained me as a customer. I'll be letting everyone I know how amazing the service is (and the food!). Thank you so much for making things right, and then some! See you soon for dine in!
The short: Amazing local restaurant where you are treated as a true guest. Food & service is amazing. The next time I'm in town I will be back. The Long: This small business will forever be part of my memory. At my uncle's recommendation I called on a Wednesday needing a reservation on Friday for a party of 12. My family was coming to Syracuse for my cousin's wedding. Our party had several guests that were....let's say, not the ideal guest. But our server never batted an eye (my sister & I did) even when we took forever to leave or when the uncle's end of the table got too loud. While enjoying our cocktails & appetizers my sister & I sat in this cozy restaurant looking at pictures our mom's cousin had brought. Smiling & laughing with my grandparents sitting across from us. They remembered every single photo. We took our time enjoying our food & each other. Walking back to our cars my sister & I sang to our grandfather a thank you song we made up as kids. We would sing this to him every time he treated us to dinner out. This would be the last time we would get to sing this song to him. He has since passed. We were so lucky to have him for 91 years. Our whole long weekend was absolutely magical & this small business was a huge part of that. Thank you for making my family a part of your community for one night. I hope to be back soon. Cheers!
We got the fettuccine Alfredo, Utica Greens, and Filet Mignon sandwich and, while it was a little on the pricey side, it was one of the best meals that my wife and I have had in a while. I am a Greens fanatic and these are REALLY good -- top five in the area. What really stood out was the Alfredo -- buttery, Parmesan, creamy -- my only complaint is that the portion was too small!!! If and when I return, I'll be trying something new, but I'll also be getting the Alfredo to take home...
This was my first visit to Nestico's and I was very happy with our experience! The service here is top-notch. Very friendly, courteous and efficient. We really enjoyed chatting with our server. The food was awesome! We started with French Onion soup and Mozzarella Triangles. Both were delicious. Then for dinner I had the short ribs and my wife had the Alfredo. Wow, absolutely delicious! To top it off the desserts were amazing too. The Peanut Butter pretzel cheesecake and lemon bar was the perfect way to finish the meal. Very satisfied with our dinner here and will absolutely return for another visit.
Our friends took us here for my husband's retirement lunch. We had never been here before. It was fabulous! The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was comfortable and calming. I asked the waitress for suggestions for lunch and dessert. Her choices were perfect. I'm looking forward to our next visit.
Nestico's is great! We have been there and ordered delivery and with every order we are happy. Nestico's has one of the best meatballs in town. Had the meatball sub recently and I couldn't have happier taste buds and tummy. Their Arincini is a must have appetizer, that cheesey fried rice ball is a perfect appetizer. Not to mention that marinara sauce for dipping is drinkable by itself! The fresh bread is fresh, nothing special about it or the butter but wait!!! It's the perfect bread to soak up whatever sauce you have leftover, that's the move to make, trust me! My wife got the eggplant tonight and she was extremely happy with it. It was a great meal once again. I highly encourage you to Enjoy!!
Four of us visited Nestico's for the very first time on a recent Friday evening. We were seated quickly because the party ahead of us must have left. The menu was large and had many offerings from classic Italian dishes to rack of lamb which one of us had. Our waitress answered all our questions with ease and she was extremely knowledgeable about each dish we inquired about. A bottle of water and a tall glass of ice resided on our table for filling and refilling our water glasses. We all thought this was a great idea and surely must save the waitresses time and the patrons frustration from having to ask for refills all the time. The other 3 dishes ordered were veal parm, delmonico steak and spaghetti pie. All the dishes were very good and I should mention that the dishes that came with a side vegetable had a bonus in that the vegetables were cooked perfectly. No mushy overcooked veggies here! We're planning on visiting again soon to try more delicious offerings.
Excellent food... The maitre d steak is the best I've ever had! Delicious salads and bread served at the table before the meal is yummy. My only complaint is the bottled water that is served is warm and I think it should be chilled or automatically bring a carafe of iced over.
This place is great. The food is excellent and the service and atmosphere is top notch. Can't wait to go back.
This was a good spot. The manager/guy who walks around and is kind of like a sly whisper is kind of a strange dude but other than that the food was good. It’s Alittle cramped when it gets busy, but the servers handle their own. I wasn’t offered dessert and was just brought the check which I found odd. Overall 4/5. Not a bad spot at all.
My boyfriend and I attended a dinner here, for a first time in a very long time. Our waitress was very personable and nice and the food was simply amazing. We had ordered their version of bang-bang shrimp, which was delicious however I did not feel we were given many pieces for the price. For dinner my boyfriend had ordered the sirloin and shrimp skewer and I had ordered the Shrimp and scallop pasta rosa. I must say, both entrees were to die for. The steak had a heart flavor to it and was cooked to the proper temperature, and my pasta reminded me of something my grandmother would make! For dessert we ordered the molten lava cake and the turtle cheesecake. Now the cheesecake was astonishing, flavorful and very well presented on the plate however when it came to the molten lava cake, it wasn't anything special. It was basically a mini bundt cake with hot fudge and ice cream; but the cheesecake made up for it! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a classy night out without robbing the bank. The food was delicious, the service was spectacular, and the time of turn around was perfect.
Pretty good Italian. A group of four of us went on a late Thursday night, so the food was nice and hot. Sevice was pleasant. I didnt leave five stars because I'm not a big Italian food fan, and I felt a few things were a little higher priced. BUT the bread was amazing and so was the greens.
Great tasting food. Portions were a bit small for an Italian restaurant and no salad included with the meal. Our waitress seemed quite grumpy and inattentive. Not asking how meal was, not refilling drinks until asked more than once. Manager seemed on point and corrected the servers mistakes when told about them.
Nice Italian restaurant, good food, calamari was some of the best I've had, though I would have liked more choices of sauces.
Very enjoyable: To start the waitress was very attentive and pleasant. The owner came over to say hello, talked a while. Truly a thing of the past. It was delightful. We order scallops - WOW they were huge, cooked perfectly and the plating was lovely. The cook was certainly a star Chef, not sure how many, forgot to ask. VERY PLEASANT DINING EXPERIENCE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Started off a bit iffy with the service but once we were all set it was great. I got the chicken riggies and as a big guy I was like oh my goodness this ain’t enough. But once I ate it I was very full and it tasted amazing. I got a cannoli and it was the best I ever had.
French onion soup good and plentiful..not hot. Tuscan chicken tasty but again not hot. Filet mignon flavorful not hot. Sent back chicken fine steak still just warm.all and all aok.
A non-chain local restaurant with a wide variety menu. Daily specials and an extensive bourbon list round out the fare. Mostly known for Italian food, the place does not disappoint when you feel like something different. We were meet at the door by the owner, Peter. He offered us indoor or outdoor seating as well as bar area high tops of we wished. Out server, Laurie, is as good as you can get. Professional, pleasant and personable. She took the time to ensure our evening was perfect. Never rushing us with meal courses or the check. Speaking of check $40 dollars for antipasto, soups, two dinners and drinks. This place is a local gem
Excellent Italian specialties, great red sauce. Love the batter on the fish and chips special on Fridays. Fair prices. Friendly staff. We try to get out there at least twice a month. Always have been satisfied.
The existing menu has outdated pricing. I just uploaded the current menu as of September 2025. Prices were higher than expected for lunch ($22 for the pasta pie). The food was good, solid, not exceptional. The Utica Greens were a bit too acidic from what seemed like too much vinegar, and was otherwise tasty as expected. The pasta pie was solid, but the sauce was rather ordinary. The service was very good.
Food was very good - 1 x filet, 1x salmon, 1x steak frites and 1x soup/salad. Portion size was reasonable for the price point, which really isn't bad considering market prices these days. The seafood bisque was delicious! The risotto- very good!!! Service was great as well. Will be back for sure.
I felt as if this place was a little pricey, maybe because I had Groupon that I wasn't allowed to use. So I spent over $50 when I had planned on spending around $30. I ordered the chicken and biscuits and was dissapointed however I got a Lava cake for dessert that was good, their garlic bread was great. I filled on that after I didn't eat much of my meal. My boyfriend got the Lobster Mac and Cheese and was beyond impressed. He must have said 10 times while we were eating how much he enjoyed it. I think I must have ordered the wrong thing (I'd stick to the Italian items) I do have to say our waitress was so kind, funny and attentive. My boyfriend would definitely go back, I'm not sure about myself.
The waitress we had was awful, she was so distant and didn't get all our drinks and left out a person at our table, then we had to ask if we could order our food. I know with a group of 7 people, we automatically have a tip but really alot of the people at our table didn't because of her attitude. On a good note, the food was great but the service makes you not want to go there
Nestico's has always been one of my favorite restaurants. Very good food at a reasonable price. The wait staff has always been hit or miss. This time it was average. She did seem to be in a hurry. However, this review of my visit on 12/8/21 is not about the good food, it's about the bar charges. I had two Johnny Walker scotch on the rocks. When I get my bill, there is a $1 surcharge for each drink for ICE!! I asked the waitress why there is a charge for ice. She said 'So they can achieve the two fingers pour of liquor'. When I bartended, a two finger pour was about 2 ounces. Pour the liquor then add the ice (if requested). Not ice first then measure the two fingers. What this tells me is that I am charged for two fingers when actually I only got maybe a one finger pour. Ripped me off. $1 dollar for ice??
Good food, good service, but the portions are on the small side. Unfortunately, this restaurant seems to nickel and dime the patrons: $13.50 for a Jack n Ginger, adding sauce for our Calamari $3, salad with your meal is not included, adding shrimp to your small Alfredo is $7, and even adding crumbly Bleu cheese to a salad was extra. We are not cheap by any means and we enjoy dining out frequently. Our server was attentive and timely, so we left a 20% tip on a hefty bill. But again, we will not go back (see above).
Was a very good spot 20 years ago, but not so much anymore. It's basically olive garden+ at fine dining prices. Not really sure why this has over a 4 star rating. My girlfriend's cup was stained and filthy looking. Not that it was actually dirty, the glass was just old and plastic. This is a 25 dollar a meal place at a minimum, you'd think they could afford glass. We received 2 warm but frozen and heat in the oven garlic knots, our apps were basically buy frozen and toss in sauce after the oven, and my scallops and asparagus were drenched in a lemon butter sauce that tasted like they bought a packet from Wegmans and mixed it in water, not to mention the scallops were tiny. This isn't Italian food and there's plenty of places in Syracuse that do it so much better than here, go somewhere else.
I tried to call to order the food ahead of time & left a message. No one ever called me back. I drove down there to see if I could order. There were very few people in the dinning area & no wait staff around. I walked into the bar area & there was a young girl behind the bar who took my order. I had questioned her about the pricing; online prices were different than advertised. She told me one price but then charged me higher price. Either she didn't know how to add or she forgot what she told me. A lot of bait & switch going on here. I wouldn't have gone here but, the places were we usually ordered our greens weren't opened yet. On top of a very disappointed experience the Utica Greens they advertised had bacon in it. They weren't bad but weren't great either.
Disappointing experience with this reopened restaurant. My husband and I went a few days ago. Although the atmosphere is nice and our server was great, the food and pricing were less than desirable. We were charged $30 and $40 for our entrees. I chose the chicken riggies. I was not able to eat it as the chicken was hard. No idea how you make hard chicken but it was a complete turn off. My husband ordered a seafood dish, which was served over undercooked pasta. We mentioned this to our server who said she “would let her manager know.” For the price of the entrees (which does not include soup or salad), one might have expected the manager to come over to speak with us. Unfortunately, we won’t be back. Too pricey for less than mediocre food.
Disappointed in the service and food. Our waitress seemed to be doing her best and was very nice, but we felt (a table of 6 who arrived at 4:30) the the service was slow and we had to wait a long time for food. Some dishes came out piping hot, a few of ours were warm at best. They did not have milk or apple juice which were supposed to be available. The bill for 6 adults and a 5 year old with drinks and 4 desserts was $400. You would think with the lack of availability of a few things and a complaint of overcooked shrimp, perhaps something would have been comped, especially since 1 of us hardly ate anything and chose not to bring the leftovers home. I don't know who's running this place but we won't be back, unfortunately.
Food and Service were good. The reason for the one star is they don't consider a gift card cash. We went in for dinner with a groupon. My mom surprised with at the bar with a gift card for our anniversary to use at dinner. We purposely spent more money than we were planning to because we had the gift certificate. When the bill came we handed the waitress the groupon and the gift certificate. She told us we couldn't use the gift card and that the manager doesn't consider it cash, even though our parents just gave cash to them for the certificate. I've NEVER been to a place that doesn't consider a gift card cash. The restaurant does not lose any money so what is the big deal!!! I am VERY upset, and really don't want to go back to use the gift card we now have. The manager was not interested in hearing us out and apparently many customers have complained about this ridiculous policy, we were told by our server. Word to the wise, NEVER GET A GIFT CARD
We had a party of 4 and we couldn't make a reservation, you need at least 5 people? You have to call when your on your way. Are appetizers were 1/2 good, Calamari was good the pizza had no taste, how is that possible? Dinner took forever to get there and the chicken Marsala was more of a gravy over chicken and angel hair, plus it was bland, my wife's Ginger glazed Salmon had no ginger and no seasoning. My friends roasted chicken was dry and his Fiancee had chicken and broccoli with a garlic white sause over wide noodles, it was so garlicky she only had a few bites. I am a garlic freak and I couldn't eat it ... We had no alcohol and the bill was 98$ ... That's reasonable if the food was any good! Will never go again!
My husband and I went there on July 19. It was not a very busy evening (we went early) but the staff seemed a little hard to find. Waitress was nice at first, getting our beverages and taking the order. I ordered the lasagna, something they are supposed to be famous for. When it came, the sauce on the top hot and the lasagna cold inside, not warm, actually cold. I had to send it back 3 times for them to microwave it. After the third time it did come out hot. I ate what I could because all the microwaving made edges of the noodles hard. Taste was not much better than Stoffers with the same texture. The waitress disappeared after the 3rd time returning my meal. I guess we were no longer worth the bother. Well, Nestico's is not worth the bother either. We will NEVER go back and I will be sure to share my experience with anyone willing to listen.
Decided to try this place for the first time. Wasn’t satisfied at all with the food. Service was great. My fiancé had to send his fettuccine Alfredo back because the chicken wasn’t good. I had the chicken riggies. Sauce was good. The chicken wasn’t good at all. Plus the food came out super quick. Most Italian restaurants the food doesn’t come out that quick. Will not be coming back for any of the food. Way over priced for what you get. Also if you bring water for the table at least have it cold. I shouldn’t have to ask for ice. It should come with the glass I’m going to pour it into. Wait staff was great though.
I've heard a lot of people speak highly of this place... Not really sure why! Food was so-so at best. $24 steak that was charred ("med-rare") and more fat than meat... Oh, and had two pieces of bone in it! When I pointed this out to our server, she seemed like she could not care less let alone make any attempt to make it right. Never even offered to refill our waters. Won't be eating there again and can not recommend.
My sister brought me a sauerbraten dinner Thursday night. Meat was very good but 3 times as much red cabbage as noodles. Not even a handful with barely any gravy. Nothing like the pictures posted on the web site. I will not order it again
I really don't understand all the fantastic reviews. Either people don't know what great food tastes like,or they don't want to be mean. The atmosphere is great. The food is bland. Pastabillities hits everything when it comes to food. Maybe I made the mistake about going there a month before coming here, but Nesticos Alfredo is awful. I got it with chicken and the chicken had no seasoning, tasted off and the Alfredo was straight up bland. The rossoto balls were ok,but my meal was awful. I was going to say something especially with not eating my meal, but my waitress was so busy she didn't even ask how everything was. Won't be back.
Negative stars if that were an option. We ordered to go, took the food home and the order was completely incorrect. We asked for gf pasta due to allergy, a $1.50 up charge, and chicken on Alfredo, $7 upcharge. We live over a half hour away, when we called the owner informed us we would need to bring the food back in to “verify the order was incorrect.” When we stated we didn’t live in the area, we were informed this is the only option to correct or refund for our food. So instead of refunding us $8.50, they have lost a customer for life. Great customer service…
I just hate to leave a bad review for take out, but I was only going 2 miles, so I find this to be valid. Sadly, worst pasta I’ve ever had. Ordered the “Just Pasta” with angel hair, 2 meatballs and their house meat sauce. Well, no meat sauce, 2 very small meatballs and the worst part is the completely overcooked pasta swimming in water. Thankfully I ordered the mozz triangles, so I did get to eat something on my lunch, but the pasta went right in the trash. Will I be back? Probably not.
We started going back to Nesticos this summer. We had a couple of great experiences. Recently we went for dinner and had a bad experience. Our food took an hour. When we did get the food, it was not good. My salmon tasted fishy and the rice dish was unbelievably salty.
Food was overpriced for small portions. Nothing to write home about. Service fine. They seem a bit snooty for graffiti all over the side of the building. I guess it's supposed to be but I think it is just a horrible blot on North Syracuse. People who think murals are pretty on the side of buildings are nuts. And this one is just creepy.
