Things have changed since the pandemic, their salsas are now packaged, but still the same. Love the self serve beans and drinks and they're open late! The only thing I won't order again is the nachos, the microwaved cheese sauce is not it.

For the way I prefer my flour tortillas cooked, you just have to ask, and they do cook it longer, which makes a difference in the taste so much better. I was craving their Burritos 🌯 So good ❣️

Great clean and modern taco shop. Prices were reasonable. I love the pre-packaged salsa at the bar and selection of cilantro, onions, and peppers. It is “custom” taco shop. The thing that stands out the most for me is the security guard in the photo. He was acting tending to table out of his own goodwill. He was float floating around the restaurant being helpful to the patrons. I don’t think that was in his job descriptions but he was really going above and beyond what was expected of him. He even helps to translate the worker’s Spanish words to non-Spanish speaker such as myself.

Tasty Tacos at a Great Price!! Each taco is only about $2 USD, and the meats were so gooddd! The only minor things though: the tacos only came in corn tortilla (I wish they had flour tortilla option too), and they overpackage it in plastics (covered in plastic wrap + plastic bag) even when you’re dining in. But it’s definitely one of the best tacos I’ve had & would definitely come here again!

Tacos Gavilan is what you’d want from a chain taco restaurant. They serve up a tasty “4 bite taco” 4 bite meaning the taco is small but packed with meat when folded and really flavorful. It’s not too greasy and holds together without breaking the tortilla. Plus the tortilla is a little thicker than the street ones that double the tortilla but it still breaks. The beef is not over cooked which leaves the taco full of flavor in each bite with no burnt bits. They are more a “chain” than a street taco option but it’s solid, has great service and is a “can’t go wrong” Mexican Cuisine option. You can expect authentic dishes, unlimited self serve horchatas and an exciting vibe here. Tacos Gavilan also offers self-service beans,onions and cilantro, chile peppers, lemons and pre packaged salsa which is cleaner than everyone digging their own from a bucket. The restaurant is always clean, has TVs with music and plenty of space to find a table. I ordered the beef tacos, added a cup of beans from the self serve bar and enjoyed the Latin Music Videos. It was a great “pit stop and a taco” experience.

Honestly can't say much other than that one loved it. Got a taquito and a super mulita Al pastor and asada, respectively. Both great. Especially the mulita. Lovely soft corn shells, great guacamole, tasty cheese and not exaggeratedly flavoured meat which was actually really nice compared to the super strong Mexican flavour you sometimes find in the meat in other places. Staff were lovely even if quite busy. Cheap and simple and more than tasty for the price. Gonna return for sure

This is fast, they have touch screens to place your order and it's very clean and organized. We tried the pastor, lengua, buche, and pollo. Their food was amazing until recently. I would say as of September 2022 it started going downhill. Whoever idea it was to prepackage sauce was wrong. The old sauces were fresh and the best. The new sauces taste chemically. Their quesodilla is still one of the best. But the without the sauce it doesn't taste the same.

Burritos are skinny ..there’s more rice than meat!

I’ve ordered from Tacos Gavilan quite a few times before and never had a major issue. The food was always fine, and that’s why I kept coming back. However, during my last order, I got seriously sick about two hours after eating. I experienced intense stomach pain, vomiting, and was unwell for several days. This was the only meal I had that day, so there’s little doubt where it came from. It was a terrible experience, and I hope the restaurant takes a closer look at its food safety and handling practices. I’m writing this so others can be aware and make informed choices.

They need to improve on cleaning the trays are sticky and dirty the floor and tables with trash and nobody clean the tables after we pick our own trash and trays the least they can do is to clean food is OK like fast food has to be no big deal on meats or anything personally I don't recommend I love my Mexican food but this is not OK, if you are in hurry and on a budget one block east is a in n out restaurant much better than this

The tortillas at this place are warmed with steam (like Tacos al Vapor) instead of placed on the grill with oil. The food lacks authenticity. The rice is dry and broken. The rice is better at some El Pollo Loco restaurants. I like how they bag the onions and salsas. I will never go back. I'd rather go to some taco trucks I already know are authentic.

This was my first time here. Food was really low budget. They have those fake "agua frescas" fountain drinks, but even these tasted weird and old. I personally would not go back.

Horrible customer service. I asked for an asada plate with rice and beans. Very single. Some how this order was screwed up and I was giving other ingredients that I have a food tolerance issue with. I called and no one answered. I was forced to throw away my food. Simple solution: hire people whole speak English. You are serving customers who speak English. The menu is in English. Why is there a disconnect with the people taking the order? This is unacceptable and there is no excuse for this. My order should have been correct and this business should staff people able to SPEAK ENGLISH AND NOT GOVE CUSTOMER FOOD THEY ARE ALLERGIC TO.

My partner and I ordered food for pickup on what seemed like a slow Sunday evening for Tacos Gavilan. The order was small: three items with one modification - no beans on the burrito. After arriving home, we discovered the beans had not been omitted from the burrito. When paying $8 for a below-average sized burrito from an establishment such as TG, I would expect it to be exactly as I ordered it. Maybe I have too much faith that people will do their job and pay attention to the details. I suggest everyone check their order for accuracy if ever eating here.
