Café Ficelle is hands down one of my favorite spots in Thousand Oaks. From the moment you walk in, it feels like you’ve stepped into a cozy Parisian café — warm lighting, rustic décor, and the aroma of fresh-baked bread filling the air. The pastries are outstanding — flaky, buttery, and clearly made with love. I always go for the almond croissant or the kouign-amann when I want something sweet, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything in the case. Their coffee is smooth and well-balanced, and the baristas are friendly and know their craft. Brunch here is also a must. The Ficelle Benedict and avocado toast are next-level, and everything is plated beautifully. Even when it’s busy (which it often is on weekends), the staff handles it with ease and keeps the vibe relaxed. Whether I’m meeting a friend, grabbing a quiet coffee to work, or treating myself on a Sunday morning, Café Ficelle always delivers. A true local treasure — highly recommend!

Had a wonderful brunch here this morning. The avocado toast was amazing, the eggs Benedict was on their homemade English muffins. The pastries are delicious. The atmosphere of this location is amazing. There’s more room than the other locations & the fire features make you want to sit back & relax.

Love it! Feels like walking into a genuine French cafe. Friendly staff and great food for breakfast or dinner. We go here daily and great spot to bring friends or have meetings. Love the design, from the white granite to fireplaces, great vibe. Thx for nailing it Cafe Ficelle!

Everything was amazing. The blackberry white mocha was delicious . Staff as super friendly. Food was 🤌 YES IT IS TRUE PARKING WAS BLAAA. But I didn't come here for the parking I came for the ambiance and food😆

It’s a small coffee shop. They offer coffee drinks, have breakfast menus…. Many foods are homemade. A great choice.

This place has a nice atmosphere, great service with a nice smile, amazing food, fresh good coffee, great for outdoors and indoor sitting. Clean and neat.

Love having Cafe Ficelle right down the street. The atmosphere of the place is very chill and a good spot to get some work done while enjoying some yummy food and coffee. Love having Cafe Ficelle right down the street. The atmosphere of the place is very chill and a good spot to get some work done while enjoying some yummy food and coffee. I recently ordered a cake from here and it was made by Madison. The presentation, size and taste were all spot on and it was delicious. I will absolutely order another cake from them again. That patio is worth gold! The lights, the fire pit, the lounge seating, all worth the overall experience. Prices were ok.. most pastries around $6. The staff was great, the service was really good. My only problem is the unmarked parking. It's so hard to know where to park, because even if there is a sign, I couldn't see it at night time. Could they at least put a light on it? Or clearly designate between apartment parking and Cafe parking.

My latte was ok, it tasted like my milk was steamed at too high of a temp. The pastries looked beautiful but I didn’t have one. Hopefully they can get their food figured out because this is a wonderful spot next to the civic plaza. They also serve wine and are starting to serve dinner a few nights a week.

I got a chocolate chip cookie but didn't taste fresh for $5.50 which I think is outrageous and good luck finding parking

Been here 3 times, and every time I think, maybe next time. Maybe next time it will be better, perhaps it's just my hope though. I live within a 5 min walk from here, and would love to make it my go-to spot. Food: Extremely disappointing. Avocado toast is severely lacking, brown, and not even enough to cover the toast. Food simply seems to lack substance and quality control. Kinda bare minimum gets the job done vibes. From one restaurant manager to another, gotta give people value if you want them to keep coming back. Service: Staff and managers don't initiate contact with guests (as a server would) to check on customer satisfaction and afford the customer a chance to air grievance without it coming off as a complaint. Ordered a chocolate croissant heated, and it came out stone cold. Nobody asked if I wanted to try a pastry (easy upsell) or have a sample of one ready to offer to entice. Atmosphere: No cafe music, at least not loud enough to notice or hear. Seems more like a cafeteria, than sheik cafe.

The ambiance is great but if you are looking for a quick service- this place is not for you. We placed a pastry order and it took forever to get the food.

Food is inconsistent I've eaten here many times. Most of the time the food is cold because they leave it sitting at the window to long before bringing to the table. The coffee is great.
