Coldwater Cafe

My girlfriend and I went last Saturday and had a phenomenal experience. Coldwater cafe is my favorite date night restaurant in Miami county. My ribeye was perfectly cooked and was melt in your mouth good. Great service, great food, and a great atmosphere for any date night.

GREAT, in a word. I tried the Scottish Salmon and it was terrific, perfectly cooked and very tasty. They really know how to cook. I also had a dessert, the cherry- almond bread pudding, which was totally amazing. I had turned up without a reservation so I sat at the bar, and got all kinds of good tips from the bar staff - they are a good team. The restaurant is very, very good and could hold its own in much larger cities.

I was extremely impressed with this place. The quality of the food can’t be found at many places in the area. The bread was some of the best bread I’ve had. Lobster crab cake was on point. Pita chips were fresh, warm, and homemade. Heck even the water is triple filter, and the service was top notch. Social distancing is taken seriously with plexiglass separating tables.

I got the duck grilled cheese and my husband got the crab cake sandwich. The star of the show are the french fries here. Do not pass on the french fries. They are soft in the center and crispy, seasoned on the outside. Just fantastic.

Nice place with great service and fancy yet accessible food choices. Is a nicely done former bank.

Don’t miss out on this fine place! Searching for great food for dinner on the tail end of our road trip, our search results produced Coldwater Cafe. The wait would have been an hour without a reservation so we sat at the bar as suggested by the hostess. A warm welcome by the two bartenders and a lovely local woman that was sitting next to us was a great beginning. I had a blackberry mocktail, we shared the fried green tomatoes as our starter, I had the Faroe Islands salmon, husband has the wedge salad with chicken and we finished with the key lime pie. Everything was tastefully delicious! There is nothing better than quality food prepared very well 😋

One of the best meals we’ve ever had! Beautiful cozy historical building in the heart of downtown Tipp City. Everyone in our party raved about every meal we had. One of the specials on the night we were there was a sea bass with coconut rice, and it was absolutely delicious!! The deer filet and filet mignon were tender and delicious as well. Make reservations because it fills up fast but it’s very worth it.

Omg. Im so glad that I came here. It was in the cutest town. The only bad side was it was on street parking. We walked in and the restaurant looked super nice but we asked to sit outside because it was so beautiful out. They had mostly salads and sandwiches on the lunch menu. They also have a few apps, quiche of the day, and soup. I got the sweet corn bisque and it was delicious. A very unique taste. My coworker and I shared the chicken pecan salad sandwiches and the fried green tomato grilled cheese. Both were delicious and both of us loved the homemade chips. Everything was amazing and we loved the outside ambience.

Food was EXCEPTIONAL, I had fried green tomatoes grill cheese with thick bacon slices and fresh fries. The only acceptable drink with this meal was strawberry rhubarb margrita, my oh my, it was also delicious. My husband had a fish sandwich which was a big piece of fish, enough to make 2 sandwiches and their homemade potato chips. He also had a salad with their homemade house dressing, cucumber and dill creamy dressing, again YUM. And fresh bread. The service was AMAZING also. Highly recommended.

Excellent staff who are attentive to the customer needs. The food was beyond delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful.

Excellent location, great food and fantastic service. We ate outside, and did some people watching while we waited for the meal. Didn't take long to get our order. We'll be back.

This place is one of a kind. The filet was so tender, the shrimp and grits was amazing. The service was great. My husband didn't really care for the cocktail he got, they switched it out without any issues. Can't wait to go back.

Rob took me to the airport so I may go back home to Ohio to see family and my Aunt took me to this place to eat at that her and her friends ate at, just two days earluer. She was so excited and I was like, ho hum. Ya know, its just dinner. I honestly dont know or cant find the right words ...I'm not sure which, but absolutely NOTHING on that menu is bad. The place was amazing, the people were informative, and the chief is sent from God. I've been back home now for over a week and STILL, I cant think of a time in my life where I have had food that was so full of flavor!! Ever!! Even food I dont like was amazing!! But these words seriously dont do it justice. I only wish I would have taken pictures of it to show you but the aroma was so incredible that I completely forgot and dug right in. And when I was done, I was full but it didn't hurt. Wasn't even uncomfortable. It was strange but welcomed and very much appreciated. Haha THIS is a definite must visit. You won't be disappointed. Everything there is handmade there. EVERYTHING! And there's another surprise, and I'm not going to spoil it for you, because if I knew before I went,.....I would have protested. Take my word for it, you'll never forget this place. It's my favorite place to eat at now. Cant wait for my next visit P.S. We ate our dinner in the vault. This place used to be a bank. We have always had a great experience here. The bartender John took really good care of us our last visit.

Food was awsome, staff very friendly

The staff was helpful kind accommodating and prompt with amazing service. The food was highest quality. It was a lunch and I was promptly seated. They are popular so evenings I suggest a reservation. The food is top level chef and the price is fair. I ordered the salmon and some crab cakes with a side of artichoke dip. All of that was amazing and the presentation plus flavor were supreme. Then I got in a hurry to leave after paying my bill and forgot my card at the table. They kindly put it in their safe for me. Honest hard working people and definitely a repeat.

This was my first experience with " fine dining" in Tipp City because of the generosity of a new friend. Coldwater is truly a celebration of fine dining. Their creative expression of food is so unique. You must try their fried green tomatoes

It was out first time and we all enjoyed sitting on the patio for lunch. The mussels were phenomenal. The salads and sandwiches were excellent.

The dishes are works of art. I revisit often to try their specials and can't get enough of the fried green tomatoes each season! The atmosphere is perfect for celebration, intimate dining and personally I like sitting at the bar. I always feel extra good about self care when I treat myself to this experience.

This is a secret treasure in warm and wonderful Tipp City. Food and wine are both incredible. We eat there as often as we can.

It's a small charming restaurant with a high end feel. The menu is filled with French style offerings. I ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer and it was crisp and delicious. The favors burst with each bite. It was enough for 3 adults to share. The salmon was lightly crisp on the outside but tender and juicy on the inside. It was cooked to perfection. I had a glass of the cabernet with my meal and it was one of the best I've tried. Our server ,Jill, went out of her way to provide us amazing and timely service. She even provided a sorbet for dessert that wasn't on the menu as I am lactose intolerant. Overall it was a great experience for all 4 of us. I would highly recommend Coldwater Cafe for adults needing a place with great food and atmosphere

A friend and I stumbled into Coldwater Cafe thinking it’d be a coffee shop to realize it was a fancy restaurant 😆 But we decided, “what the heck!” It didn’t disappoint and we went back again a couple weeks ago for lunch and the tea cake 🤤 They don’t have a huge menu, but what we’ve both had was so good both visits. The prices really aren’t bad, especially considering the atmosphere and service you get. Their customer service is top notch! So kind, professional and friendly ❤️ Our first visit, they were also generous, letting us sample some things we weren’t sure about and giving us a complimentary tea cake (it’s smothered in melted butter 🧈😍). We literally came back for the cake 😂 and of course to try other things. If you’re looking to have a fancy experience with yummy food without breaking the bank and if you like dessert (they have sooo many options and all are made in house), I 10/10 recommend!

We visited this restaurant for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We were really taken aback by the food, service, & atmosphere. We were greeted & seated promptly. The food was delivered quickly & served hot. You must try the lavender lemonade ! The server “Jay”was excellent. The restaurant was clean & bathroom superb. I’m looking forward to stopping by again!

Coldwater Café has excellent, kind servers. The food is like art. They always have fancy ingredients, even if I don’t know what it is, it always tastes amazing! I usually go with my mom, grandma and young kids.

Our family dined at Coldwater Cafe last night in the Boardroom and we had a lovely evening! We've been here many times over the years and it never disappoints. From the spectacular food and drinks to the wonderful service, it was perfect. The privacy of the room gave us the opportunity to talk and laugh and have a great time. Looking forward to many more amazing evenings at Coldwater Cafe!

This is one of our favorite restaurants in the area. I don't know if they use seed oils to cook with, but it is one of the few restaurants that doesn't bother my husband's stomach and we don't feel like garbage after eating here. That is hard to find in this area of Ohio. They seem to use real, quality ingredients. It is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for.....we would rather pay more and eat clean and not feel bad afterwards. In the warmer months, they have a great outdoor area.

Absolutely adorable little restaurant in downtown Tipp City! Some friends and I were passing through and decided to stop at the Coldwater Cafe on a whim. The service was warm and friendly and the food was wonderful! I had the fried green tomato grilled cheese with house-made chips for $17. My friends tried the house special and the chicken salad sandwich. Everything was fantastic! We've already discussed another trip because we were all too stuffed to try any of the amazing sounding desserts. Atmosphere was a little upscale, so I'm not sure young children would enjoy the Cafe, but adults definitely will. Gluten-free and vegetarian options were available. Highly recommend!

We have eaten there fore years. The food is the best, the waitresses are good also. Choices of wine, food to make everyone happy! The service is fantastic. You won’t regret going. ✌🏼♥️

A return visit for dinner this time. Evening menu starts at 4:45 pm. I had a very enjoyable meal and this also was wine down Wednesday. Special price on glass of wine $5. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Really made my dining special.

We had lunch. The place wasn't crowded. We sat at the bar side. The service was good, and quick. We ordered Chicken Tortilla soup. It was OK, little bit salty though. Also, we ordered Asian Salad. The portion was very big. It was very tasty. We would like to come back for dinner next time.

The food here is good, but the atmosphere is what makes it really special. The menu had a nice selection of items. I enjoyed their hamburger and the fries were awesome! The carrot cake was a great way to end the meal. The service was excellent, and there wasn't a long wait for our food to be served. There is usually street parking available.

The Lemon honey basil drink is delicious 😋 worth the visit. Mashed potatoes were also delicious. The steak had a good flavor, but the wait and cook on the meat being so far off from I ordered is the main reason for the 3 stars. I'm willing to give the restaurant another try. I just won't order the steak.

My husband and I dined here for dinner on New Year’s Eve. His steak was cooked perfectly, and he really enjoyed his meal. Unfortunately, my filet was completely overcooked. The bottom and sides were inedible, and I was only able to eat a few bites from the center. It was so dry and tough that I could barely cut it. My husband even apologized for suggesting we try this restaurant. I believe the restaurant would have made it right if I had mentioned it, but earlier in the evening they had forgotten my husband’s wedge salad, which we had already addressed. While they did make up for the missing salad, I didn’t feel comfortable raising another issue at that point. Because of the overall experience, I’m giving 2 stars. I’m disappointed, as my husband loved his food, but this experience has made me hesitant to return.

Went for birthday dinner. Honestly wasn’t great. Salad was good we ordered the wedge. Filet mignon wasn’t seasoned at all and had little to no sear. Taste and texture was exactly like a pot roast with this terrible steak sauce all over the whole plate mixed into the mashed not “smashed” potato’s. Very disappointing we make better filet mignon and chocolate cake at home. Our waiter Morgan was great.

Fancy place. However asked the waitress to ask the kitchen what I could eat dairy free and she did not go check, so did not end up eating anything. So cannot speak for the food.
