Do not miss the stuffed zucchini flowers, fresh peach Bellini, pasta portofino and the stuffed beef skewers with mozerella! Luca was amazing and made the night impeccable

This place was recommended to us for dinner.. I was on the fence because of the reviews… but best and most memorable meal of the trip! We had a reservation and were told to go for the views!! When we got there we noticed the outside was closed because it would be raining later that night. I was afraid eating wouldn’t be worth it if we had to eat inside. But not at all! We had a great meal! We were able to take a couple of pictures outside before it started to rain. The man that takes the orders is very dry (it didn’t bother us but some reviews say he is wasn’t that nice). It was a pricier meal. We spent $425 for 4 people but also had 3 bottles of wine. Couldn’t recommend this place more if you are looking for a nice restaurant! We rented a car so we just drove up and parked.

My wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary having dinner. The restaurant has an amazing view and ambience. We order the zucchini appetizer with roasted goat cheese and tomatoes. For our entrees she ordered the penne pasta and pancetta (which was very good) and I got the thin sirloin which was stuffed with mozzarella and grilled with herbs. (Don’t get me wrong, it was very good, but I wish I had ordered the veal chop). We enjoyed the house red wine and a cappuccino. We were too full for a dessert, but they looked delicious.

My husband and I visited this place after hearing mixed reviews — some called it a “tourist trap,” but we decided to see for ourselves. We’re so glad we did. The view was absolutely breathtaking — truly the kind of scenery you never forget. The service exceeded our expectations. Every member of the staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming (especially Marlene, an amazingly sweet waitress). A special touch: the chef himself came to our table to chat, which made the experience even more memorable. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but you’re paying for more than just a meal — you’re paying for the exceptional service and that unforgettable view. We left feeling it was worth it.

What a gorgeous gem. The view, the food, and the service were incredible. Some of the wait staff didn’t really understand what we were saying, but that isn’t their fault. It was ours. We are in their country and didn’t speak their language. Anyway, talk about a romantic setting. And so happy to say that the food was just as good!

This restaurant was beautiful! I can’t understand the reviews where they say service wasn’t good because everyone that worked there was lovely and super helpful. They gave great recommendations that weren’t the most expensive on the menu. The food itself was amazing. The honey goats cheese on the starter is sensational and we got the catch of the day and the pasta twists as mains and they were amazing ! They even ordered us a taxi home (because warning!!! If you don’t have a car you’ll need to taxi there). So overall an incredible evening !

We just came from a amazing and very memorable meal, with an unbelievable view and atmosphere. I read many reviews focused on price and service. Let me say the service was excellent, they were accommodating and attentive. As far as price, you are paying for a phenomenal view and atmosphere. It was a perfect night and we had a table with a panoramic view of Lake Como. Tasteful food, a fine bottle of wine and a magical view of Lake Como as the sun set. What more can you ask for.

We are here for dinner and loved the views. The food was delicious but be ready to sit for a couple hours for your dinner. We absolutely loved our zucchini flower appetizer, the pastas, and all our food. We especially loved our waitress who was like a Nonna.

Cibo buono, personale gentile, vista pazzesca sul lago e una tranquillità che accompagna il pranzo impareggiabile, per non parlare della location molto bella... ma la sorpresa vera e propria arriva al momento di pagare, prezzi elevatissimi per quello che abbiamo mangiato, antipasto di fiori di zucca consigliato dal cameriere 18€ cad ... il prezzo non era indicato nel menù, non lo consiglierei ad un amico solo per il prezzo salato.

Il cibo era eccezionale, così come la vista, ma i prezzi non ripagano il tutto! Ci sono luoghi più belli ma meno cari..

Unfortunately, as American tourists, we felt taken advantage of. There were charges on our bill that we had to ask about in order to dispute and it felt intentional. The staff was only friendly to us until we called them out for charging us for more limoncellos than we ordered etc. HOWEVER, the food and view were incredible. We would maybe come back but scrutinize the bill before paying, LOL. Dine here but just beware!

Purtroppo non c'erano i prezzi menù su internet e neanche su Google Maps, di cui mi sono servito x trovare questo locale ,e abbiamo ricevuto un amara sorpresa dopo esserci seduti e ricevuto il menù cartaceo,prendendo : due bottiglie di acqua da 0.75lt, due antipasti scarsissimi e un dessert ( una minuscola fetta di torta) abbiamo speso la bellezza di 76€ . Consiglio x chi ama la cucina a caro prezzo e poco abbondante con € da buttare via però riconosco che in questo locale abbiamo apprezzato la bellissima veduta sul lago di Como

La posizione del ristorante è davvero spettacolare, sovrasta sul lago, quindi ottima location, se dovessi valutare solo quella metterei 5 stelle, ma i prezzi sono davvero esagerato per l’offerta: 12 euro per poca minestra per la bambina.. 15 per una minuscola porzione di pasta davvero condita male. Poi veder preparare la tàrtara sotto il sole cocente ci ha fatto scappare!

Bella location, cibo buono, ma comunque prezzo sproporzionato per il menu e i vini serviti.

Cibo mediocre , rapporto qualità prezzo eccessivo , probabilmente si è pagata la vista spettacolare , non lo consiglierei

Al Veluu came as a highly recommended restaurant and it was such a disappointment. My bf and I came here for our first night of vacation dinner, it’s important to note, we’re 26. When we first arrived the server gave us our menus and quickly took our orders, I found it strange that they didn’t offer specials with such a limited menu, but no big deal. We ordered filet for dinner for 2, “cooked table-side” (according to the menu) for $100. The waiter told us we “probably wouldn’t like the mustard sauce” and offered us a red wine sauce instead, great, so we thought. About 20 minutes after we were sat another older American couple (probably late 40s) was sat next to us and we overheard the waiter listing a round of specials. Initially just disappointed we didn’t hear them, we assumed the server forgot (happens!). They also ordered the steak dinner for two. When our steaks came out, i was surprised they weren’t cooked tableside as the menu said, but they were decent and we were modestly happy with them. However, when the older American couples steaks began to be actually cooked table side, we were VERY confused. For one, why were theirs cooked table side and ours weren’t? And then we saw their steaks. The size and quality difference in the cuts of meat we were offered was night and day. While we were served small/thinner (6oz) serlions, they were served HUGE thick filets. At this point we were SO CONFUSED and should have said something but we had finished our meal, been there for 2 hours and wanted dessert and to leave. The tiramisu was fantastic. Finally, they offered to call us a cab which we accepted, except we wouldn’t have if we knew it would take over an hour to arrive and we watched 4 other tables get priority and their cabs were called after ours, picked them up first. Again, could have been down to situation except we were all staying in the same hotel .5 a mile away. My bf and I felt like the staff saw a young couple and assumed we either didn’t have money or didn’t know what to expect of a high class restaurant experience. Either way - it was clear our experience was incredibly different from those around us.

This restaurant is a real hit-or-miss. The view is spectacular but the food was nothing to write home about. Surprisingly the restaurant seems to be full every night (during tourist season at least) but feels like a tourist trap though. Our bill was 3 times higher than at other restaurants with Starter + Main + 2 glasses of wine working out to about €120 pp. It seems like they’re trying to go for an above average dining experience but attention to detail is lacking and the food quality/presentation/experience (given the prices) is average at best. If you’re after a good Italian cuisine experience then there are plenty other restaurants with more variety, less pricey and same or better food quality.

Recensione per il solo ristorante: qualità / prezzo forse il posto più assurdo dove ho mai mangiato (e mangio spesso fuori per lavoro). Ambiente carino, staff educato (niente di trascendentale ma comunque niente da eccepire)… ma 30€ per 3 fuori di zucca fritti (e fritti male) sono una cosa al di sopra del ridicolo. Il piatto era fuori menu quindi non potevo avere idea del prezzo. Se a questo si aggiunge il fatto che il vino meno caro era sui 40€.. e stiamo parlando di un ristorante NON stellato, NON di alta cucina , sul lago di Como ma non con un ambiente con bicchieri di cristallo ecc .. funghi trifolati di contorno.. anche questi erano fuori menu: 20€. Un piattino di funghi trifolati di contorno 20€… non ho chiesto il prezzo perché non pensavo MAI si potessero raggiungere cifre del genere in un posto del genere. Passiamo a fine cena.. grappe: mi si chiede quale volessi senza fare distinzioni di prezzo .. immagino a quel punto abbiano uno standard per tutte sui magari 8? 10? Anche 15€? .. 25€ per una mezza grappa perché nel frattempo aveva finito la bottiglia. Va bene siamo in alta stagione , va bene arraffare quanto più possibile .. ma 175€ di conto da solo in un posto del genere è un’assurdità totale. Sconsigliatissimo, ma non solo per il prezzo .. la qualità è buona ma non eccelsa , e quindi in una dinamica qualità / prezzo sicuramente il posto peggiore mai esperienziato (e siamo un tour operator che è costantemente a giro per l’Italia…). Triste che esistano posti che pensano di essere al di sopra delle parti e che per loro sia normale far pagare 3 fiori di zucca fritti (male) 30€. EVITARE

Consigliatissimo il bicchiere di Bellini a 22€!!! Comunque non lamentatevi dei prezzi esageratamente assurdi di questo ristorante visto che lavorate tutti in Svizzera!

This place is a total ripoff. The food is only just basic and way over-priced. Staff is kind only if you're willing to throw away your money. Yes, the view is breathtaking, but it will be interrupted by repeated performances of the owner parading among the tables, as if Joël Robuchon, fresh out of labor, having just given birth to the fried zucchini.

Had one of the worst meals here. An absolute tourist trap with mediocre food. The zucchiniflower was overly battered, ok in taste. My pasta was on the al-dente side but somehow watery in taste. The service was ok, but somehow intrusive and did not make you feel like a guest, but like a product. Italian restaurants have usually a great value to money ratio, this place does not offer this. We paid more than 130 euro for one starter, and two main dishes (incl. one glass of red wine and some water). I will never come back.... although the view is nice...but do yourself a favor, buy some local wine and just park next to it on the hill and enjoy the view.

Be aware! If you order multiple dishes and share then they charge 5 euros person per dish. There was a statement on the menu stating that shared dish would be charged an extra 5 euros but we figured that would be for multiple people who shared ONE dish and did not order anything else. Our party of 2 ordered 2 apps, 2 entrees, a side and a dessert and a bottle of wine and shared everything. We got charged an extra 10 euros per person, per item because we “shared” so 10 euros extra per item totaling extra 50 euros for nothing View is nice, food is average but getting scammed is 0/5 stars
