Love the location of this place very close to the beach. Nice outdoor seating. Food was good, I had the fish and chips. The fish was delicious, the fries were cold and soggy. Couldn't complain because our server never came back. Some of the prices are high and a lot of the prices on the menu are based on current market price of the fish. I asked about a crab burger and it was 38.00. Service could have been better. The hostess was really nice, but our server lacked. She never checked on us, never advised why our food was taking forever to come out. Never brought us condiments for our cold fries.
Food was all excellent- oysters, seafood, fries. The fish and chips came with 5 pieces of fish! Service was great and the atmosphere was charming with a very nice little gift shop full of local wares. We were very pleased we found this cute place for a great meal during our travels to the redwoods.
We ate at so many places on our vacation. This is the only place we ate at twice! Quaint place, nothing fancy or pretentious. Great food, wonderful service! We sat outside as it's right off Trinidad Bay so the breeze coming off the water was wonderful. Inside and outside dining. Cute little gift shop inside. Delicious fudge available in the gift shop. We're still talking about this place a week later and wish we were there!
We stopped in on a road trip off the west coast and honestly, the best meal we had on our trip. We unfortunately showed up right at the end of lunch service (3:45) and were told we could not be seated until the kitchen was done with all lunch orders, which was fine. We were estimated about 15 minutes, but it ended up being closer to 40. The staff however was so kind, kept us updated, and the area is nice to walk while you wait. Once we were seated food can fast, service was top notch, and SO fresh and delish. We wished we could have rated there every day. Definitely make a point to stop in if you are in the area. Recommend the fish and chips and chowder. Also my husband had a clam infused beer that he quite enjoyed.
Such a quaint restaurant and gift shop. The staff were so kind and sweet. They let me borrow a charger I needed. Fast and attentive. And helped us pick out some unique gifts at the gift shop.
At first we were a little concerned by the organic offerings, often this means twigs and weird stuff.....but the fair offered was surprising! Onion rings, patty or tuna melts...we ordered. Our server was humorous and attentive in such a way that she made sure we were taken care of, but did not overwhelm our privacy. She was FANTASTIC! this place was comfortable, cozy, warm and inviting! Hope to travel thru again just to be able to eat here again! Thank you!
Stopped here for dinner 8/22. Everything was delicious; the clam chowder really does live up to the hype and the Trinidad Fog was a delight. I will mention that when they said the fresh catch was cooked 'rare', it was RARE. I liked it. Nice outdoor seating too.
Excellent place for food after a hike in the surroundings. We came twice over the weekend for lunch and breakfast. Food is fresh and prepared with care. Service is attentive. We’ll be back in our next trip north.
Excellent fresh oysters. The sablefish was prepared beautifully. Awesome desserts. Fun and funky location with a neat shop connected!
We had an awesome breakfast. Catherine (spelling may be wrong - sorry!) was an outstanding server. She handled some other obnoxious patrons that were there while we were like a champ while making sure all of the other tables in the place were taken care of. We got the specials - sturgeon cakes eggs Benedict and stuffed French toast with cream cheese and topped with mango compote. Soooo good! I got the seasonal lavender lemonade mimosa and enjoyed it thoroughly. My husband got the cherry soda and we both really liked it. The music they were playing was good, and the interior is really fun to look around at. Would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone and hope we’re back one day to try more of their food!
Got into town just before 9am and glad we waited 15 min for them to open. Service was wonderful and food was really good. Their house made spicy sausage was great and best gravy I’ve ever had! Also a small gift shop and espresso bar inside and a block away from some fantastic views. I only wish they opened earlier because we would for sure visit again before we get back on the road :)
Delicious food, thoughtful local organic ingredients, rich omg French toasts and such, and healthy omlets with local veggies and salads. Full coffee bar with lattes and mochas. One of the best places to eat in the area. Plus they have a great little gift shop full of Trinidad and Redwood wonders... and fudge. Really really good fudge. If there's a wait, its worth it.
Not one to post reviews, but this place was amazing. Absolutely loved the cozy vibe in the place. The service was friendly and knowledgeable and the FOOD was phenomenal! The eggs Benedict was tasty and I highly recommend the “Trinidad fog” tea!
This place is so cute! The entire staff was friendly and welcoming, we stopped by on our way through town and will definitely be back again. I highly recommend the Bloody Mary, their orange juice is fresh squeezed and served in a frozen glass. The chicken friend steak is probably the best I’ve had this far west . Thanks all! 10/10
My wife and I loved this small eatery in Trinidad. I was told the clam chowder was outstanding ... and it was!! I had the garlic bread bowl. I also had a root beer float with the ice cream freshly made just south in Loleto, CA at Jersey Scoops. Awesome! My wife had shrimp and chips. Shrimp was lightly breaded and the french fries were seasoned perfectly. Highly recommend!
If you are visiting Trinidad and are a fan of quality culinary experiences, The Eatery is a must try. This quaint diner sports freshly prepared seafood dishes, featuring the classic fish and chips, spicy pasta plates, premium cut fish of the day, seafood cakes and more. All of the plates that I saw today were made fresh and bountifully, presented with care and delivered with accuracy. Our server was delightful and knowledgeable of the menu. Seating in the restaurant is limited which can prove challenging for larger parties, but my party of 7 was able to wait patiently for them to accommodate us. After trying most of food options in Trinidad, this was our favorite and I would recommend this place to anyone. Note that parking may be limited, as it matches the very small town vibe in the area.
Charming, down to earth, delicious food and friendly staff. The local gift shop is fun. The sable salad is one of the best fish dishes I’ve ever had. The clam chowder was tasty, too. They have drink options for everybody.
Nice little restaurant in tiny Trinidad, CA. Very interesting, creative menu choices, from salads and sandwiches to succulent seafood. Good selection of beers though many were out of stock. Hubby enjoyed the ABC sandwich, (avocado, bacon & grilled cheese). I had the Caesar salad topped with crab, one of the best salads I've ever eaten. Cute gift shop attached, clean bathrooms. No bay view but that's just across the street.
I do not have the words! I had the clam chowder in a bread bowl. It’s the BEST clam chowder I have EVER eaten! My daughter and husband had fish and chips, which was also amazing, but they both wanted my chowder! They do not care for clam chowder! It was so fresh, NO sand, and thick! Service was great and staff was friendly! I absolutely recommend this place!!
Fantastic local diner where seafood comfort food reigns. All hands on board at this diner as not only did we have great service by our waitress, Sarah, who had at least four other tables to serve, she had support from the gift shop staff and the hostess. The clam chowder is made fresh with the right balance of clams, potatoes, celery, seasoning, and cream. Don't forget to leave room for the amazing blackberry cobbler a la mode - you'll savor every bite! ☺️
Very friendly staff, food was delicious. Burger was cooked perfectly to my liking. Fresh fish dish was amazing. Definitely recommend!
This place is outstanding! The ONLY place in Trinidad you should go to for quality seafood. This is coming from a New Englander with picky standards and having tried both seafood restaurants in town- this is the spot. Beer and food was fantastic! Cobbler and chowder were a real highlight. Will be thinking about this meal for weeks to come!
Great food! Some of the best clam chowder I've had in quite some time! Fish and chips were killer. It was a nice and fresh piece of fish too. One of our favorite places we stopped on a 8 day trip. Definitely will go back whenever I'm in the area! Visit #2 once again great fish, shrimp and chips and chowder! Great lunch spot! Beautiful views and cute souvenirs to walk around and find after
This is a place I’ve been wanting to go to for some time. The clam chowder is made from scratch and delicious with the cheesy toast! I got the Italian soda with cream, but I recommend asking for less ice. I’ll be back to try the blackberry cobbler. They have a cute little shop where I was able to pick up some chocolate & chocolate covered cherries. It was great to meet the owner who is warm & welcoming.
Because there were more of us, the waiting time was longer. The wait time can be disappointing. (It is recommended to share the WIFI so those waiting can kill time). After entering the restaurant, the waiter's attitude was very good, the food was delicious, and the cocktails were also delicious. It's worth the wait.
The food and service and atmosphere is fantastic! Fish and chips - amazing. Clam Chowder in a bread bowl. -they toast the bread and give you center too…YUM. Turkey melt with Ortega chili…OMG. You can’t seem to go wrong. A little speedy but not considering where you are and what you are getting. Will be great to fuel up the night before the Trinidad to Clam Beach run. We will be back every single time we are in town. Promise you that!
What a surprise! We were starving and found ourselves in this hidden gem of a town, Trinidad, CA, and needed lunch badly. We found this spot, and were totally expecting Dennys quality food at boutique restaurant prices. Man were we surprised by the quality of the food! To start, the bread bowl clam chowder was as good as any we’ve had on the West coast, perhaps even on par with chowder in New England (my wife grew up in Boston), it was super good! The salmon cakes were delicious too. And the fish n chips were as good as any we’ve had in England or Scotland on a trip we took there last year. Finally my wife got the crabby fries; OMG! Not cheap, but dang!!! Then we finished up with the blackberry cobbler with ice cream and an almond swirl fudge. YUMMY! These guys act like they’re competing for their lives when they cook! LOVED it, BEST EVER! Will 100% go back next time through this amazing part of the world! (Sorry, we were so hungry we forgot to take pics until we got to the desert 😆)
There’s so much to love about the Trinidad Bay Eatery and Gallery. Currently I am obsessed with their California Chicken Burger. It’s a perfect blend of flavors and is basically perfect. And that’s with a gluten free bun. The Gallery has so many great products as well, and is my go-to when I want to grab a special (and tasty) gift for someone. The staff are also amazing and so friendly.
This spot was amazing! It was easily the best seafood I have had in California. I can’t wait to come back. We had some locally caught steelhead (fish of the day), clam chowder, fish and chips, and the blackberry cobbler. It was all excellent! They emphasize the use of local ingredients and scratch cooking. If you are in the area, definitely check this spot out! The atmosphere was cute and cozy, without feeling pretentious or uninviting. It may look just like an ordinary diner, but don’t be fooled- this place is better than many fine dining restaurants.
We decided to take a trip down northern California coast and wanted some Pacific seafood. The locals steered us toward this place and we were very happy with our decision. The eatery had some good choices. The service and atmosphere was very friendly. The clam chowder was excellent along with my tuna. We were very happy with the experience except for the baby oysters. I still don't understand why they were so small. Just one of those things! I would recommend visiting if your in the area.
Went during Mother’s Day weekend while on vacation with friends. We had a long wait for a table but had a great interaction with staff in thee gallery shopping for tshirts and sipping on wine as we waited. Once seated we received prompt service and the food I received was delicious. I had the steelhead trout which was the fish of the day with kale and rice and a salad. All of it was seasoned and cooked well.
Only stopped for an Americano but grabbed a cinnamon Danish too because they looked good. The help asked if I wanted it heated with frosting. Of course. It was excellent fresh yeast dough thick layer of cinnamon and 7"across.the frosting came in a little plastic tub and could have smothered the whole thing. Sipping the pure black coffee, tearing that roll and dipping it while watching for whales in Trinidad Bay. Good day in the end times.
If you are around The Redwoods NP, this restaurant is a must. The city is small, tranquil and cozy, next to the ocean. The clam chowder is the best I've tried so far. I also had a blackberry cobbler which was good. I really craved some good Coke float, but it was not the case. It was regular soda with ice cream, not the original recipe.
Really delicious location for tasty elevated homemade coastal food. The clam chowder with the toasted bread bowl, AMAZING! Honestly everything we ate was fantastic. Perhaps the one downside to our meal was the fish and chips were smaller portions, but the quality more than made up for it. Even the fries, tarter sauce, etc, are homemade. No view of the ocean, but it's a short walk to see it.
Loved the clam chowder, reminded me of the first time I had it which I haven't been able to find anywhere else. Not too fishy but not too bland it was perfect. I wish I had more! Our drinks were constantly topped off and the servers were very nice and communicative! The burger did seem like it needed a little bit more seasoning but it was still really good and cooked to medium like I wanted. I want to try the Pandemic burger next time! I heard some great things about it. Fries were awesome! I had them with salt and ranch. The flour-less chocolate cake was also amazing and paired so well with the whipped cream and strawberries. My family also really enjoyed their salads and rib-eye steak. Overall it was an amazing experience and I am definitely coming back!
Trinidad Bay Eatery and Gallery is an absolute gem on the Northern California coast and a place we looked forward to visiting every day during our stay. The location itself is stunning, with beautiful ocean views that make the dining experience even more special. The atmosphere is warm, relaxed, and welcoming — a perfect mix of a cozy café and a small art gallery that showcases local creativity. The food is excellent and clearly made with care. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. Their breakfast options were especially impressive, and the coffee was consistently great — the perfect way to start a day by the sea. The ingredients tasted high-quality and thoughtfully prepared, whether it was a simple dish or something more creative. What truly stood out, though, was the friendly and attentive staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, patient, and happy to offer recommendations. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and take pride in what they do. If you’re visiting Trinidad, this place is a must-stop for great food, amazing views, and a welcoming atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back!
The restaurant has a beautiful setup out and inside. The outdoor seating has overhead covers and very nice to enjoy your meal during sunny days! In the inside, you will enjoy a beautiful gallery space full of local businesses/artists merchandise. Some items are very cool to own if you are passing through to remember the beautiful area with. The dinning area, is very cozy and family friendly, it also has a mini bar. I love the natural lighting because of the large windows and if your table is by the main street side you will be able to also enjoy the view of the beautiful ocean. I have been here about 10 times over the past 5 years I since I've moved, and the food quality and quantity is always the above and beyond. The daily/weekly or seasonal specials are always amazing especially that the workers themselves create and come up with great things. One of my favorite specials is the Albacore Tuna Cake Benedict. The onion rings are AMAZING! The prices are a bit at the higher end. The service is always 5 stars, nice people and great attitude. If you are a short time visitor or passing through, stop by for great food.
We were starving after a long day of hiking the Redwood trails and had seafood in mind. This place did not disappoint! The menu options were all great and plenty of seafood options and not just fried stuff! To top it off the service was great and Kimberly was a great. She made sure we had all our questions answered and recommended some really great dishes. 10/10 recommend! 😋
Stopped in for breakfast earlier today. Got the stuffed French toast, and it was amazing. The blood orange curd was absolutely fantastic, and the whipped cream was surprisingly good. Very sweet, but not overpowering due to how sour the curd was. As well, best service of my life. By far. Kinda difficult being a trans traveler, but this was the first place where I wasn't only respected by the staff, but they seemed genuinely excited to see me. People got more and more friendly as they clocked me, and this has never happened anywhere else. Never change, Humboldt county. As well, kinda love that instead of mints I got commemorative matches as a souvenir. Wonderful finishing touch.
I absolutely love this restaurant! It’s such a cute spot, and the staff are always amazing and so attentive. We make it a point to come here every time we’re in town for breakfast it’s truly the best little restaurant. I especially love their hashbrowns and French toast, both are to die for. Highly recommend!
The food was absolutely incredible. We were able to sit outside with our well behaved dogs, and enjoyed the delicious clam chowder and fresh tuna melts. The fish and chips were excellent, and the little store with fudge and gifts was adorable. Staff was friendly and very helpful as we were traveling, gave us some nice suggestions of things to see in the area. Highly recommend this place.
10/10 the best restaurant! Amazingly delicious cioppino, super fresh oysters, and local/yummy ice cream. The local sparkling wine was wonderful too. Especially the cioppino... I savored every last drop. Warm/attentive service from Kimberly and the sitting hostess as well. Relaxing jazz playing in the background and fresh flowers at the table.. Thank you for such a lovely meal 💕 so grateful this restaurant was a part of our trip!
We stopped in for lunch and were seriously impressed! The fish and chips were crispy and flavorful, and the calamari was some of the best we’ve had—tender and perfectly cooked. The service was awesome—friendly, fast, and welcoming. On top of that, there’s a wine tasting room connected to the restaurant, which was a fun bonus. We’d absolutely recommend this spot if you’re in the area. Great food, great vibes! — Kemoshire | Honest reviews. If I visit it, I review it.
I don’t even know where to start on my review. The food? The service? The food?? It was all absolutely AMAZING. Let’s start with the service. It couldn’t have been better. Created by the lady when we walked in and seated almost immediately. She went over their specials and explained everything we would have questions on. Our waitress came over and was 100% the sweetest person ever. She answered everything we asked and was all smiles. She was flawless throughout the whole experience. The food you ask? It was absolutely amazing also. My wife and I love clam chowder soup and I would guarantee this place has the best I have ever tasted. It was so perfect!! For a meal, my wife and I had the 16oz steaks seasonal (with their in house seasoning and 3 shrimp). Again, AMAZING taste and flavor. It went great with their shrimp. My son got the pasta and he loved it also. For desert, my wife and son had the Salty Sailors Sundae and I had the Blackberry cobbler. As you can see in the pictures, you will want one also. So full of flavor!! All around; the atmosphere was great. We loved the shop inside the restaurant. So many little things to buy and many handmade items from local. 100% recommended everyone eat here and enjoy it.
Surprisingly yummy food tucked away in this quiet town off the coast. They had the BEST clam chowder I have ever had (i dont even like clam chowder!!). Their Cajun Alfredo had the perfect kick of heat to it, and the serving sizes were massive! The ambience and vibes were top notch, and we especially loved the non alcoholic options. Everyone on staff was friendly, and our server Ashley was just lovely. We will definitely come back to try more next time we're in town!
Perfect place to grab fresh or baked oysters or clams with seasonal flavors, while inhaling the refreshing sea breeze outside. Unfortunately, the rest of the food didn’t please my tastes. Hoping to see more tasty and healthy options in the future. Service was quick and welcoming.
Great little place. Better than they have to be, as there isn'tmuch competition here. Good on them. The food was really good. We had fish(Cod) and chips served with cole slaw. The fish was crispy and well seasoned without being greasy. The chips were good. The coleslaw slaw was creamy and crunchy with a bit of tang, excellent. The tartar sauce was also great! Some of the best fish and tartar I've had. We also got a salad. It was seasonal garden vegetable from local farms. A bit of crunch, goat cheese, and some sweet cherry tomatoes would have made it wonderful and more balanced. The sweet corn did attempt to do that, however I think it failed. Still, a good salad. The staff were friendly, but kind of all over the place. Good people though. God bless!! We will be back to try that amazing looking soup bread bowl awesomeness! Edit* January 12, 2026. We came back! Forget everything else, get the clame chowder INTHE SOURDOUGH BREAD BOWL! One if the best chowder ever!!
After a hike on the misty shoreline we came here for libations. The sourdough bread bowl with clam chowder was an indulgence (and shareable)... The Bay Salad was divine, with goat cheese crumbles and fried lemon slices (pulled together the meal with the rich soup well)...and of course we had to try the oysters- they were fresh and full of herbs from the garden out front. Kimberly waited on us at the bar seating area, everyone who worked here was friendly and social. The only issue with this restaurant is literally every dish looks so good, it's difficult to choose : )
The place was fixed up nice, the service was very prompt but the draft beer menu was not updated so the selection was not what I was hoping for. Like most good eatery it was busy and loud at peak times but they seated us and our guests after a short wait and the food did not take long to arrive. The food was tasty and I selected the clam chowder /toasted bread bowl with an IPA and was quite satisfied
Trinidad Eatery is fantastic! The clam chowder was absolutely delicious — rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The menu has great variety, portions are ok, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Friendly, attentive staff made our visit even better. Highly recommend stopping by for a comforting meal and especially that chowder!
Delicious meal! This place was recommended to me and I didn't know what to expect when i walked in, but it more than met expectations. I got the bay salad with the catch of the day and it was awesome. Server was very knowledgeable about the wine selections as well. High-quality meal, friendly and attentive staff, what else could you ask for?
Very cute place with some yummy veggie options. Not too expensive and service was great!

Nice little place in Trinidad. My favorite was the Fanny bay oysters! The clam chowder (full order one , not the side that comes with the meal) was great in a bread bowl. (Good amount of clams). The linguine was too spicy. Scallops were perfectly cook, maybe just a little too much cooking wine in it.
Went here today during our short stay in the area and after hearing it recommended by a couple of people. Really tasty food, though a bit pricey. The staff were all very friendly and warm. We liked our breakfast so much that we came back to get takeout for dinner. Fantastic little gift shop, too!
Overall it was good, and the service was excellent. That said, 7 shrimp on the shrimp and fries is not enough 12 should be the count. And since I’m from the Deep South no seafood restaurant especially on the coast should be without a decked seafood platter. The Cheeseburger was ok, fries good. Now the clam chowder in the sourdough bowl was outstanding.
We decided to eat dinner in Trinidad while staying in McKinleyville. The short walk down to the gorgeous Cliffside gives this place more appeal, but the food I felt was extremely bland excluding the chowder. The clam chowder was delicious. Our waitress left little to be desired. She never introduced herself, never read the specials; seemed like she couldn’t wait for us to be done occupying one of her tables. $70 for yummy chowder & a bland plate of fried fish. 😵💫 **the gift shop & espresso bar is super fun and inviting**
it was fantastic. amazing food, maybe the best fries i’ve ever had. i don’t really like mac and cheese but i LOVED the one from here. the wait was more than a half an hour but it was pretty packed so it makes sense. also a bit of a wait. BEST HOT CHOCOLATE IVE EVER HAD. nice people/ workers too!!!
This was, honestly, a delightful surprise … the town itself has very little to offer other than the beautiful surroundings. We camped close by and had breakfast here. Food was top notch and we also ordered the clam chowder to warm up for dinner that night (also very good! They don’t cheap out on clams). The restaurant was a bit run down but kinda added to the seaside charm. Service was mediocre though and we had to flag down the server for more coffee and to get a bill. Recommended though.
Stopped at this little restaurant for lunch on our way down the coast. I started with the clam chowder... 👌 My wife ordered the crab grilled cheese ($25 😳) It was good, but there wasn’t a lot of crab in the sandwich ... I had the fish & shrimp & chips ... fries were really good. Shrimp and fish were great! My son had the kid’s chicken nuggets, he enjoyed it as well.
A great family style (and run?) restaurant. Super friendly staff and we had a great meal. Very generous portions. We had to wait but they have a nice little shop where you can browse local goods, order drinks, or even get oysters while waiting.
Oct 2023: I’m back this time for lunch. Enjoyed the fresh oysters from Arcata, the fish cake special of the day (better than a crab cake with that delicious aioli). We split a fish & chip which had a harder coating and drier fish than we expected. Service is still a 5-star like before — very friendly, upbeat and fun. Sep 2019: We didn’t know what to expect with the name being eatery and store? However the service family was super friendly with each other (great partnership) and were patient with our multiple questions about the menu. We ordered the seafood cioppino and were presented with a generous serving of seafood stew. Yum! They even accommodated my gluten-free diet by making garlic cheese toast using GF toast!
Food was great! The burgers are thick i was only able to eat half but tastey, clam chowder was delicious/amazing according to wife the kids meals come with ice cream when they are done which was a pleasant treat for them and I enjoyed the fudge, the milk chocolate fudge was more towards the bitterness of dark chocolate but still yummy
Found this gem online on our way to Redwood. The clam chowder soup was delicious with chunky chunky clams! Fish and chips was a little bland(fries was good). I also had their dinner special halibut entree and it was good. I just wish the sauce could bring out the flavor of the fish more. I'm not sure why the crab cake was popular because I didn't taste any crab. Overall. Clam chowder, yes. Everything else, maybe. Great service! Friendly staff!
Patio seating dog friendly atmosphere a real plus. 2:30 PM on the Friday after Thanksgiving so 15-minute wait for an outdoor table, less for indoor. Friendly efficient service. French fries “hand punched” were plentiful and tasty. Cold slaw a bit bland. Calamari, Fish & Chips (three big chunks), Tuna Melt; each item enjoyed with some sharing going on at our table of three. On site gift shop with tempting selection of local goods and tourists tee shirts. Trinidad Bay Eatery since 1975. Fantastic location.
I arrived here for lunch yesterday around 1 pm. We did wait over 30 mins for a table, which was fine since they were packed. Once seated, we ordered our food and it took over an hour to arrive, which was disappointing. Our server wasn’t as attentive but was very nice. I wouldn’t recommend getting the eatery melts from here since the bread is like the side toast from Dennys. The eatery burger was very good but I don’t think it was worth the wait. They also have a mini store inside, which is nice, as they have a lot of local items for sale.

Food was average but service was friendly and had a hometown feel to it. Skip the Chowder.

We arrived just as they were switching over from lunch to dinner, so we added our names to the waitlist and waited about 10-15 minutes for a table. While waiting we perused through the gallery, m…
Best clam chowder this trip! The lemon vinaigrette was yummy on the delightful house salad too!\nOur server (katherine) was delightful, prompt, and thoughtful. \nWe also split the moony patty melt …

We stopped here because they advertised the best chowder in humboldt County. It did not disappoint. We started with a local apple cider mimosa that was great. My wife had the chowder and tuna …
There are only a few options for coffee in Trinidad, we would not go back to this one. Probably, the worst Hazelnut Latte I have ever had. I never tasted the Hazelnut flavoring.

$28 for a Caesar salad with no protein is ridiculous. Also, if you're going to list an item on your menu as 'Market Price', as someone is ordering said Market Price item, tell them what the Market…
My friend and I wanted some raw oysters, was told they only had grilled available! Probably a good thing, a dozen was $45!. We each just had a bowl of clam chowder which was very good. Doubt we’ll be back.
Caesar salad was good. Be advised that the “market price” for chicken was $36.00. I would not order the salad again but may return for the $17.00 burger.
We had a party of six - special salmon, fish and chips, clam chowder, clams, oysters, portabello sandwich, beet salad Fresh oysters were good, fish and chips good. Otherwise average food. …
Me and my family went there for my mother's birthday. We announced on our arrival that. But yet even after spending more than $200. We didn't get a happy birthday song or anything as to say happy birthday like something for free like other places. While we listened to 2 other tables get celebrated while we ate their overly priced meals in their 70s diner themed joint...oh and no beach to be seen just lots of trees so very misleading. The drinks were 15 each but couldn't taste the alcohol...Along with the snobby impatient staff, I will NOT be coming back.
Let me begin by reminding all readers that reviews are one experience, which means mult variables all happened that created our specific encounter, so know every day, every shift, there's never going to be a recreation of our visit. With that said, our three main indicators to hit up any restaurant were met before we finished our meal, those being: 1. Good reviews on here 2. Clean environment 3. Welcoming hosts What changed our opinion by the night's end were the following: 1.STAFF. Lots of hovering staff (which makes it feel like upper management has set a rule for all workers to always "be busy!" And lends to a stressful, somewhat facade of service? The constant flux of faces at our table just made us feel a tad overwhelmed. 2. COST. Prices were steep. (We get small business support, and love to help them prosper, but some items were just really high.) 3. FOOD. The famous fish & chips, a fave dish of hubs, was a lot of breading, which takes away from the amount of fish one actually gets. He wasn't a fan of the coleslaw, his preference is thinner in texture (I really liked his slaw myself!) I got a burger, it was OK, but we both agreed the fries were really small and hard, we love us some good fries! 4. ATTITUDE. One of the servers was very unhappy, not ours, we had Lottie (?) nice girl 👍🏻. But that other lady didn't smile once, found something to complain in every single dish from the window (and maybe the cooks were missing a lot??) She flew around looking stressed and completely unhappy and that lends to the atmosphere. All these things added together is what created our unique, maybe never to unfold again experience, but it made it an unenjoyable one for us. One where we felt the high cost for the local food wasn't a good trade off in the end. So sadly, we wouldn't return.
This place is highly recommended and smells amazing walking through the door. Anticipating an amazing meal and was let down. The fish sandwich $34 was lacking in flavour, way too bready! Crabby melt $36 was loaded however way too cheesy, couldn’t taste a lot of the crab. Both served with warm dry fries with no salt. Chowder cup $9 to-go was a singular ladle, my container was less than half full, was tasty but not enough to even enjoy. It’s okay if you want average food for high price point.
Horrible. Overpriced fish and dried out cardboard chips. Used to be a good restaurant - not any more. Pathetic now and poor service to match.

I seriously question how this restaurant passes health inspections. We ate here yesterday and ordered the clam chowder and shrimp & chips. All three of us became very sick shortly after eating. The clam chowder was clearly spoiled and tasted weird, as if it was old or improperly stored. The owner takes zero responsibility, which is obvious from their public responses to other reviews—even those reporting BUGS found in salads. Instead of addressing legitimate health concerns, blame is consistently deflected. This experience is unacceptable and unsafe. I have filed a formal complaint with the Environmental Health Department (EHD). I would strongly warn others to think twice before eating here.
