I'll be up front, I'm not a "fine" dining person...purely from being a single guy on holiday...but I'll confess this has been one of the best meals service wise I've had over my fortnight in Mexico. The food is of the highest quality, but the service I received whilst dining here on my last night was of the highest calibre. From the check-in with Ezbeydi, to the service from Gabriel, Pedro and Carlos, my last night was made to feel extra special by how they looked after me...to the point they were laughing and joking with me as I polished off a bottle of wine before dessert was finished. This restaurant is a serious credit to the Bahia Principe resorts, and the staff deserve all the credit for it.

Excellent dinner from beginning to end. The fabulous service started with the hostess Louismaria (sorry if I got the name wrong) who was welcoming with an infectious smile. Pedro was attentive and pleasant throughout, ending up with the head chef checking on us as the end of our dinner. The entire dinner was wonderful with the stars being the Boeuf Beef steak and the Chocolat au Caramel with Chocolate ganache, Yum the chocolate lava cake with caramel ice cream was a delicious end to a memorable dinner.

Carlos was great, very attentive. Food lacked flavour and the restaurant is extremely hot. It doesn't feel like there is any air con. Service was perfect thank you Carlos, but food a bit bland

The most difficult reservation to get in the Bahia Principe complex (you can make reservations up to 5 days before you get there, we just got lucky as there must have been a cancelation). Every course was delicious, the foie gras appetizer was one of my favourite things I ate at any of the restaurants during the week long stay. While everyone raved about this restaurant we thought Don Pablo was the absolute best restaurant overall during out stay.

Great food and our waiter Angel was amazing, very polite, nice personality and incredible service, thank you Angel and all the staff at Alux tonight.

Great restaurant for fine dining On arrival, we were given a loverly pear/ vodka cocktail Our waiter was very attentive throughout, We had the coquilles St Jaques for starters, mushroom soup, which i loved, and then the boeuf for the main course, this was so succulent and a great choice There was a splint in the desserts, I opted for the taste tatin, my wife had the cheesecake, both were really tasty Thoroughly reccomend, would have rebooted, but is now fully booked for remainder of our stay

Chef Llussel prepared a fantastic dinner from start to finish. Rouque Alux ensured our drinks were perfect and timing was fantastic. The portions are small but with all courses and the lovely bread options, dinner was perfect. We hope to visit again!

I love this restaurant. The welcome drink smelt of rosemary. the strawberry salad starter was under a smoked dome. The rack of lamb was perfectly pink.

Res only for premium, lined up at 535 got the last table only because, someone else didn’t have all 4 people there at 6 ( no holds ) and if your one of those inconsiderate late people bye bye Res 🙄 Which is wonderful, N/A Heinken was nice and cold and my wife liked the Red wine !!🍷 Birthday meal was a success

A un costado de la primera alberca en Sian Kan se encuentra el restaurante Alux, que ofrece un propuesta gastronómica sacada de Francia por lo que puedes esperar pequeñas porciones por muchísimo sabor, por mi lado puedo recomendarte (con base a lo que pedimos) La Reclatte de entrada, y la sopa de Champiñones que es mejor que la de Mariscos 🍤, de plato principal el Ciervo fue lo mejor de la propuesta culinaria, estaba preparado de forma magnífica y fue sumamente espectacular. De postre si eres mucho de dulce el de chocolate te encantará maravillas, si no, el flan puede ser la propuesta para ti. Este restaurante es el más pequeño del complejo, por lo que tendrás que reservar con bastante tiempo de anticipación si quieres cenar aquí un día. La atención fue buena en todo momento y el servicio fue impecable por parte del personal el cual amablemente resolvió nuestras dudas y dio apertura para esos pequeños gustitos que teníamos.

Carta variada con distintas opciones incluidas veganas. Platos elaborados y ricos, pero lo mejor de todo el servicio tan excelente de nuestro camarero Rubén. Volveríamos cien veces.

Llevamos casi una semana en el hotel y hemos cenado en vaarios restaurantes a la carta del complejo de hoteles. Y este es con mucho el mejor de todos. Decoracion elegante, personal y atencion esmerada. Carta amplia. Excelente el foie gras y la langosta. Reposteria deliciosa. Vinos espumosos de bienvenida y vistas sobre una piscina de pelicula. Cenaria aqui siempre que fuese posible.

The Alux Gourmet Restaurant was amazing; so good we came back for a second time during our stay. I don’t think there’s a bad dish here! The atmosphere is quiet and you have a nice view from the inside. Servers are wonderful and were knowledgeable about my allergy. The welcome drinks were a unique vodka drink with bubbles and caviar. It was surprisingly pleasant! I started with the food grois crème brûlée which was really good. My partner has the escargot which was great. I had both the onion soup and pea soup on different visits; both soups were great. For my main I had the Duck Wellington which was superb and the sauce that went with it was amazing as well. My partner had the lobster for their main and loved it. For the dessert I loved the strawberry cream dessert, which came with rose petals lining the cup! My partner tried the chocolate and pistachio desserts and loved them. Definitely try to get a booking here while staying at SK or Akumal!

At the time of our visit, 10/15/25, Alux was only open every other day, which means it can be difficult to get a reservation. With that said, it is a restaurant that shouldn’t be missed. When we booked our reservation, we could only get a 930p time. On the night of our reservation, we swung by around 7p to see if they had any earlier openings. They did, and they sat us right away! Their service was excellent and the food was outstanding start to finish. The escargot had a delightful flavor, but it was a tad dry, but we would order it again. Every course was amazing. The Homard et fromage (lobster tail) was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. It was a complete experience and highly recommended!

Being a party of 3, we enjoyed a lot of options provided. Our least favourite appetizer was the bread that came with cheese as i unoderstood something else from the menu (that’s on me !) We had the mushroom and the bisque, mushroom won for the taste ! We had beef, lamb and lobster for mains and the steak was the best and for dessert we had crème brûlée and peach tart, after a big meal they came a bit heavy. That said, the ambience, the service and the look of the food was amazing ! Flavours are a personal taste but we all agreed that it was worth the visit

Enjoyed this very much! The food was excellent, the staff friendly and helpful and the atmosphere beautiful, relaxed and refined. The general area around the Sian Kaan part of the resort feels hotter and more humid than the resort parts closer to the ocean - we came from Akumal and in comparison the Sian Kaan area felt hotter. The restaurant is well air conditioned though so not a problem anyway!

Great staff. The lamb was overcooked. It's very easy to do with small chops. The beef tenderloin alternative was excellent. All in all, it was a great fine dining experience . I will go back.

I recently visited this restaurant and was thoroughly impressed by the experience! The cozy and welcoming ambiance, tasteful decor, and excellent service made it a standout. While I enjoyed the delicious bread that was served, as the flagship gourmet restaurant at the resort, I expected a more impressive amuse bouche. Nonetheless, the welcome drink was a great start to the meal. As for the food, the "Tarta Tartin au Tomate" was great, and the Coquilles Saint – Jacques and Velouté aux Crevettes were decent. The lobster tail and tenderloin were both good, but the standout dish was the amazing Tarte Tatin aux Pêche Gorgonzola. The only letdown was the Flan au Fromage, which wasn't great. Overall, this is a highly recommended restaurant for anyone looking for a cozy atmosphere with excellent food and service.

Wow the food was great. Try the mushrooms soup. The steak was great too. Turn the lights down this is not a cafeteria. The service was okay. This place is close to being memorable.

Entradas: - sopa cremosa de marisco (médio); - Vieira gratinada (excelente). Pratos principais: - Lagosta braseada (muito bom); - Filet Mignon (muito bom). Sobremesa: - Tarte Tatin de pessego (bom); - Bolo de chocolate com caramelo salgado (muito bom). Avaliação final 8/10. O Sr. Garfo dá um Forte Recomendo.

Awesome food. I've really enjoyed the scallops, the lobster and the desert. Although my lobster tail had no foam as on the menu. The shrimp soup was ok but nothing special.

Service is okay. Waiter didn't understand much. Food was not good. I expected better. Very bland and tasteless. Mushroom soup had one Mushroom, no flavor. I had to blast it with salt and pepper. Scallop was the same. Lamb was dry, over cooked and flavorless..tip - add a mint chutney dressing for flavor. Place was super hot. Nothing worth going to.

Well service was fantastic so 5 star. Atmosphere was OK. Not the best restaurant setting, high ceilings and little clinical and bright so hard to get a great ambience. Menu was absolutely fantastic on paper.... food did not live up to the menu. The menu sounded great with all these different elements but it just failed to deliver to be honest. It was the restaurant I was looking forward to the most and probably the one I enjoyed the least at the Bahia Principe Resort.... second only to the Los Corales. What I will say as with all restaurants they are absolutely bang on with their allergens and always make sure they ask.

I had a private table. I paid extra for this but the restaurant was not busy I wish I hadn’t reserved in hindsight bc the restaurant was practically ours. We ordered portobello mushrooms with grasshoppers(which was actually delicious) 2 lobster tail and steak dinners, sangria, cocktails, and desert. The drinks were okay. The food was good, but the experience and ambiance of the restaurant is really what you are paying for.

Beautiful setting. Our waiter was very nice. The food was very good but small portions. I had the scallop(singular) it was good. Presented well. The tartar was really good. The bread, butter and anchovies were delicious. We ordered the lobster tail, which came with an odd soap like topping, but was good. The beef was good but very small portion. We were offered a selection of cheeses which were good, the bread was stale.

This will probably be an unpopular opinion but I didn’t like the food at the Alux Restaurant. Maybe I didn’t pick the right things on the menu or maybe my expectations were too high, but nonetheless I didn’t really enjoy my supper. For reference I had the tomato tartare, the onion soup, the duck Wellington and the veuve cliquot mousse. I personally thought the duck Wellington was too salty, and the dessert was especially bad and tasted like fake fruits syrup. However I cannot complain about the service, Rosario, my waitress was lovely and attentive. As for the ambiance, the setting is nice, next to the pool, but I found the echo, maybe due to the windows and high ceiling, ruined a bit the mood.

Sobrevalorado. Los caracoles súper secos y ridículo el trozo de caracol que le ponen. La langosta cocida de más y súper pequeñas. El pato viene dentro de un hojaldre y el hojaldre esconde el Sabor del pato. Lo peor el servicio. Estaban de cachondeo y vacilando entre ellos y a nosotros. Me pareció de mal gusto. Además solo un vino blanco para elegir.

I have visited this resort several times in previous years, and this restaurant used to be excellent, with high-quality food and memorable dishes. Unfortunately, during my recent stay, the experience was deeply disappointing. Due to restaurant booking limitations, this was one of the very few places available, so I booked it three times in advance. After the first visit, I canceled the remaining two reservations. The food quality has dropped significantly - easily by 50% compared to previous visits. The foie gras had no real foie gras flavor and felt more like a light sauce. The duck dish was essentially pastry with a small amount of duck meat inside, without vegetables or proper garnish. The French onion soup was mostly watery broth with a few pieces of onion and melted cheese, again wrapped in pastry. Desserts were particularly poor and not enjoyable at all. Presentation, cleanliness, service, and atmosphere were good, with no complaints in that regard. However, the food itself no longer matches the restaurant’s former standards. Based on this visit, I would rate the food 3 stars. This restaurant was once a highlight of the resort, but it no longer lives up to that reputation.

If you have not dined often or enjoy a white table cloth service, then add this to the BP selection for a restaurant. The service was excellent. The finishes and ambience were as expected. The food is average at best. The setting tends to set expectations but it shouldn’t. You get the same quality of food at many restaurants on the same resort. Mushroom soup had a nice presentation and was pretty good. My lobster tail was not great. Others had the beef, and I said it was good. Go for the ambience. Go for the service.

For a gourmet dining experience on the most expensive side of the resort complex, I was disappointed at the food selections and the overall quality of the meal. Hopefully this was a one off night for the restaurant but I'm hoping that they will make some changes to the menu and come up with more palatable dishes. Don't order the Chicken Wellington. Basically it's a dry shredded chicken and mushroom mess in a pastry. The cheese flan was mealy and clearly made with the whole egg, not with just yolks (which is sacrosanct for any good flan recipe). Raclette appetizer was basically white cheese melted on a brioche bun. I wouldn't be nearly as picky if this was not such an "exclusive" a la carte restaurant on the resort. But Sian Kian needs to do better. Your guests are paying top dollar for the experience. The food needs to reflect this.

Very disappointed with my dinner at Alux after so many recommendations. Maybe it was an off night? Our service was not good and it seemed like they were short staffed. Multiple items were forgotten and no drink service. Also, two dishes did not come with any side dishes despite the menu saying so. Anywho, save your dinner reservation and go to Ku’uk or Maiko instead!

I wanted to put 0 star in this review but no 0 star available. We reserved at this restaurant on the day of our arrival. 18 guests reservation but only 12 got seated. They said we only reserved for # of people seated. They didn't accommodate us as there are other people dining in. We got that but for the more than 2 hours we were eating there, there are tables available. And also, Carmen she said she's from guest experience told us she can seat the rest of the group if I pay $70 for a bottle of wine. We're here for all inclusive why pay extra. On top of that there are dirty half full of drinks on our table for our entire dinner they didn't picked up & ants on the table. The supervisors ysabel & Carlos found out the mistake for having other reservation was put in a different restaurant but no accommodation was done. Restaurant has no Aircon running so it's too hot, but their bathroom do.

Unfortunately they speak marvelous things about this place but the service is TERRIBLE. Our waiter not only was with face and in bad mood all service long, but when my partner asked for the privilege club dish the answer was “I’ll ask the chef”. Guess what? He never actually asked, he simply didn’t bother to ask. Funny though the fact that the table next to us was some French people accommodated and he was even making jokes to them while ignoring us and giving a garbage service. The worst enemy of a Mexican is another Mexican, that’s clear with people working in this place. Possibly the worst experience I’ve had in Bahia principe in all my years coming here.

We had been here in 2022, my husband had lobster and I had the beef. The service had been great and the food was incredible. But this time, ugh, first of all the atmosphere was very tense. There was a table next to us with 4 women who were eating, they left without dessert. I ordered the mushroom soup and Chicken Wellington and my husband had the Langoustine. The soup was good, but the Chicken Wellington was so salty that I only took one bite. The Langoustine was rubbery and tough. We were trying to get the server attention but he was busy running around to turn the table over. Finally we he came I told them that my plate was inedible. He seemed very confused. I told him that I would take the steak instead. He said it would take time, I said ok. It took about 25 minutes for the steak to arrive, by that time there were other tables that had arrived the same time as us and within 35 minutes they had been already finished and gone. It was uncomfortable to feel so rushed. When the steak arrived there was nothing to accompany it. Some potatoes would have been nice. We didn't finish our meal. We left and went to eat at the buffet at Tulum. Way better food and service.
