Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Casa Banana, especially from a service perspective. I have several dietary restrictions, and the staff was very attentive and careful about reviewing them and making sure what I ordered fit my diet. That level of care made the experience much more comfortable and appreciated. We didn’t order a lot of food. We shared one fish and had an appetizer salad. The salad was raw zucchini with basil, mint, tomatoes, and a light lemon based dressing, and it was excellent. Very fresh, well balanced, and flavorful. The fish was a grilled red snapper, cooked well and tasty, but quite small. If you’re sharing between two people, you’ll definitely need two mains or more appetizers plus a main. The service was genuinely lovely and attentive throughout. That said, the restaurant is expensive for what is offered. Casa Banana is Argentinian or Argentinian inspired, and the menu is heavily focused on steak. If you’re coming here, I would recommend ordering meat rather than fish, as that is clearly their specialty and likely where the value is. In summary, great service, thoughtful handling of dietary restrictions, and good food, but on the pricier side. Worth visiting, especially if you’re in the mood for steak and a polished dining experience.
My wife and I dined here and loved the wide variety of options on the menu. Our server was excellent and very attentive, and the food was both delicious and unique. To top it off, they surprised us with two complimentary glasses of champagne for our anniversary. Great vibes all around.
Great Argentinian restaurant! Cool vibes and amazing food and wine! We had fish carpaccio as a starter and afterwords one picaña and one entraña. The meat was perfectly cooked and for sure one of the best ones we had in this country!! For desert we had a chocolate dish like a 3 different kinds of chocolate combined with some salt and caramel - soooo good!! We got at the beginning like a free starter babaghanush on bread which was nice as well. Their wines are really good as well!!
Casa Banana has exceptional service and food. The baked asparagus had perfect texture and paired well with the goat cheese. I highly recommend the sea-bass fillet — the fish is soft and fresh, and the sauce is to die for. I also enjoyed the roasted leeks and the sweet potato purée on the side. We ended our meal with a Dulce de leche crepe with banana ice cream on the side. It was absolutely delicious, but I have to note that it is very sweet, with a lot of dulce de leche on the inside. The banana ice cream balanced the sweetness well. The place had a great lively atmosphere and very welcoming and attentive staff. The restaurant has an open kitchen, so you can watch your food being prepared. I highly recommend to visit Casa Banana during your stay in Tulum!
I’ve been coming to Casa Banana every time I’m in Tulum for the past six years, and it truly never disappoints. It’s one of those places I always return to without even thinking twice. The atmosphere is beautiful and inviting, the service is consistently amazing, and the food is always excellent. Drinks, vibes, quality — everything is on point every single time. It’s hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Tulum and a place that feels familiar, special, and reliable year after year. Highly recommend.
Casa Banana is an absolute gem—every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a stylish yet laid-back vibe that makes you want to linger. From the service to the setting, everything about our experience was exceptional. My wife and I are massive foodies, we travel around the food we are going to eat all of the time. We have dined at James Beard and Michellen resturants many time before. Tulum was not a place that we thought this was possible yet, as it's a fairly new area. Boy were we surprised. Casa Banana is sublime. To start we were able to book reservations through WhatsApp before the restaurant even opened for the day which made it so much easier. When we arrived we were immediately treated by two hostess. They made sure we did not have food allergies and sat us in the middle of the reaturant, not to close to the hearth as it was a little warm the day we dined lol. The first thing you notice when you walk in is that the resturant has no walls! It reminded us of a beach front home that had a covered patio. The warm amber lights and bright glow of the hearth made everything seem commie and that is hard to do! Prepare yourself as other than fans moving air it's a little warm, but I can honestly say everything was so perfect that we did not mind. It almost added to the dinner. Our waiter was superbly attentive, making sure we had new water before our glasses were empty and aaking for drink ordered as he felt nessary. The food was coursed perfectly as well, as each time we would near the end of a course one of the easily 20 staff would clear out plates, clean the table and bring us new place settings. We honestly felt that everything was executed to almost perfection. Dinner, several drinks (lol) with a tip as around $350 ish USD which for the level of food to us was perfectly reasonable. We would without question dine at Casa Banana again!
Amazing! This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Tulum. It’s an incredible Argentinian steakhouse with an open barbecue kitchen in the most traditional Argentinian style. The service was great, and the food portions were quite large and cooked perfectly. The food was absolutely delicious! It’s a bit pricey, but when compared to the tourist traps around it, it’s actually quite reasonable. Plus, the portions and quality of the steaks make for a great meal.
Our waitress was amazing! All her suggestions including the wine were spot on! I loved that they had vegetarian options.

Ambiente y servicio: ¡genial!
We really enjoyed Casa Banana! The steaks were prepared perfectly and they had the best Chimichurri I've ever tasted! Each steak is simply prepared (salt, pepper, garlic) and comes with a side of Mashed Potatoes and a Caramelized Onion. The cocktails were a little watered down, but the taste was okay - I'd honestly stick to wine instead. They have an outdoor kitchen, so you see your food being cooked on the open flames which was a nice experience. We had a reservation, but this is a very busy restaurant so I would highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time if you don't want to be waiting for an hour!
We regret choosing this restaurant over Arca to celebrate our 4 year anniversary despite mentioning it in the reservation. We arrived right at opening as the first guests out of two and were initially shown to a table at the very front. When we asked for a different seat the host did oblige even though her response came with an eye-roll. The restaurant didn't have anymore guests until 1.5 hours later. We were disappointed that there was no recognition of the occasion and a small gesture such as a candle on the dessert or a congratulations would've made the evening feel a little more special. Our server Gustavo was nice and didn't pressure us to order steaks as we only wanted seafood, he was attentive throughout dinner and offered to remake a drink at no charge when a fly flew into it before my second sip. We especially enjoyed the TONA cocktail (it's so good it should be renamed Casa Banana) there's whipped coconut foam with a banana liqueur had a nostalgic flavor that reminded us of Runts banana candy from childhood. Overall, the food was delicious and well made plus the atmosphere of wood burning fire was cozy, but the lack of courtesy left us a little underwhelmed.
Great food. Yes, its very expensive but the quality of the food is great. One of my favorite restaurants in Tulum. Make sure you have a reservation ahead of time.

Great restaurant. I think it’s the best ribeye I’ve ever had. Service was great. No real view. Small tables for 2. Somewhat reasonably priced (especially for that area).

He ido 3 veces. La comida se me hace exclente. Los precios son un robo. Realmente exagerados.
We found this spot very overrated. We got the artichokes, corn empanadas, flank steak and crepe. The artichokes were legitimately only two bites and the flavor was nothing note worthy. Empanadas were fine. The flank steak was good and the side of potatoes were excellent. The saving grace of the meal was the dessert crepe which I would easily order again. We felt a bit rushed- the plates came out very fast and he meal was over in 45 minutes. Definitely not worth the price.
