Opinions de Anjappar OC Tustin
HIGHLY recommend this place. Pizza had 0 flop, perfectly cooked and the crust was stellar. Pizza a solid 8.5/10, wings were perfect, and garlic knots were tasty.
Ordered a cheeseless, gluten free pizza. Liked how crunchy the crust was and the toppings were evenly distributed and delicious, they definitely didn't skimp on the toppings like some places do. Pizza was ready in about 10 minutes. Will definitely come back again.
One of the bests NY style pizza out here in the West. Loved that they serve it well done. But albeit, may be too well done. I want to be able to eat the end crust of my pizza but it got too tough at the end. The meat that came with out pizza was juicyyy though, it kept on exploding into my face. Hahahaha Overall, 10/10 will order again.
Just discovered this fabulous pizza place offering classic thin crust and offering whole pizza or by the slice. Owned by a father/son duo, they offer a variety of toppings, very reasonable prices, and very fast service. I discovered this place on Wednesday and went back Thurs, Fri, and Sun! I'm taking everyone I know!
Saw a TikTok video about double decker pizza and was inspired for a new York pizza experience! This place didn't disappoint. The crust was perfect and just the right amount of toppings and sauce. Will most definitely be coming back.
I love this place down!!!! The guy at the front is so chill, patent, kind and honest even when I take several minutes to decide on my order and I literally dream about their slices when I'm going about my day. This is definitely the spot!! And the portion sizes vs the price and quality??!! Impressive!
Love their pizza options and their slices are HUGE! The staff is really friendly and the place is nice and clean! Long time customer here for sure!
Love this place! Definitely our favorite!! I only wish they made the NY style double decker pizza that’s all over TikTok….hopefully one day! 😏🙏🏻
We had some time to kill while waiting at another restaurant in the plaza and decided to swing by here for a slice and some garlic knots. I am so happy we stumbled upon New York Pizza! The pizza is so good and made to order. Great undercarriage, no sag, and the perfect amount of sauce to cheese. The lady who works here made us feel like family and was accommodating. It was really great food and I can’t wait to come back for more!
Walked into New York Pizza in Tustin and immediately time-traveled to 1998. You sit, you fold, you question your life choices, and then you keep eating because it actually hits… 🗽
Superb thin crust pizza. Perfectly cooked, not greasy and fresh ingredients. My favorite pizza place
Fast, solid, good priced pizza. Will be coming back.
I have orders from.this place from Uber eats 4 times. The pizza is great..i highly recommend anything with vegetables on it, it brings out the flavor more. Anything just meat can be overwhelming on the stomach. However, the dough is light, delicious, and the cheese is just the perfect combination. The flavors mix well without feeling too full or overwhelmed with grease or specific flavors. The prices are more than reasonable and the the speed of which ordered are done is incredible. The customer service is on point.
This was our stop over en route to San Diego. Loved the food options here. Totally recommend Gobi 65 or chicken 65. Default spice is good balance. For entrees we had paneer tikka masala with roti, raava dosa, appam chicken masala n fried rice. All what were ordered were good. Raava dosa n appam chicken masala were standouts.!
A place for great Indian food ! Love their traditional spicy food with delicious taste. It not for those who are not brave by any means. :-) Food arrives pretty quickly. If you order your appetizers along with your main dish, let the server know and they will bring the food staggered accordingly. Their vegetarian dishes compete with their excellent non-vegetarian dishes for taste ! I only wish they rotate and bring some seasonal dishes. Will be there again for more.
The food was really, really very good. I was very hungry, I am happy that I got to eat yummy food and came home very satisfied. We ordered the vegetarian thali, baby corn manchurian dry, veggie uthapam and the chocolate dosa. Our food came pretty fast. Our appetizer came within 2-3 mins of seating! I wish that they had folded the chocolate dosa instead of it falling out of the tray and touching the table. :( The chocolate dosa was soggy because of the chocolate syrup and my kiddo didn't eat it. I am going to order the crispy dosa with a side of the syrup next time onwards.
We were craving Chettinad food, so we checked out Anjappar while visiting Anaheim last month. The restaurant and restroom were clean, and the staff was friendly - though like many Indian spots in the U.S., they could smile a bit more. We ordered Idiyappam with Kurma and the Veg Thali—both were really good!
If you crave a tasty dosa, this place has it. I ordered the mysore masala dosa, and it was delicious. I also had this veg appetizer called ‘kuli paniyaram’ which were pan-fried dumplings made of lentils and rice. I’ve never seen that in an Indian restaurant before, but I enjoyed eating it for the first time.
We usually visit this place once in a while for some authentic south Indian food. Especially during Diwali they have some special dishes for a limited time. I haven't tried everything but so far the food is good. We usually order the Thali, the plate comes with multiple things. I can't remember the names of all of them. Some of the plates are very spicy, it was delicious when mixed with rice. Sometimes I wish it could have more rice and free refills.
Hidden Gem Alert: Anjappar Chettinad Indian Restaurant in the OC!! This spot is an absolute treasure! Specializing in authentic Southern Indian cuisine, including Chettinad specialties, this restaurant delivers a feast for the senses. The food was absolutely delectable—flavorsome, aromatic, and perfectly spiced. From the vibrant presentation to the exceptional quality, every bite was a delight!! Our personal favorites (and definite must-tries) include the 65 Chicken, Chicken Lollipops, and the rich, flavorful Chicken Tikka Masala. They also have Indian beer available. We tried: 65 Style Chicken Chicken Lollipops Masala Dosa Goat Biriyani Chicken Tikka Masala Chettinad Chicken We had such a lovely time exploring the bold and vibrant flavors of South India. If you’re in the Tustin area, don’t miss out on this amazing dining experience! Perfect for gatherings with friends and family!! Prudhvi, Prawin and Gabriel had wonderful customer service!! Parking may be difficult during peak hours on the weekend.
My boys loved the pizza. Thanks. Very delicious
The food was great. The paneer dosa was excellent. The coconut chutney was a bit thin and tasteless but the sambar and red chutney were both excellent. The onion pakodas were good but the green chutney they came with was watery. The ras malai was not good. It probably came out of a box. It was frozen. The restaurant was rather cold (temperature) and smelled a bit too strong of artificial fragrance.
We ordered the veg thalli. The taste of the items on the plate were quite good. The veg Khurma was very nice with the right spices of Chettinad cuisine. Their chappatti is oily like many south Indian restaurants. I wish the veg porriyal was something different than potatoes. But the potato porriyal was tasty and very similar to South homemade potato porriyal. Their website mentioned that they are open till 3 pm for lunch on weekends. But they stop taking orders by 2:30 pm. The service was fast and the staff were courteous. The restaurant is spacious with simple and tateful decor. I would recommend to others especially those who enjoy non-veg South Indian cuisine. Update: we visited as part of a large group and all items were very tasty with correct flavors.
We ordered mango lassi, onion pakoda, chicken 65, veg biryani, butter chicken and garlic naan. Consistently good food. The service was fast, we had a choice which table we wanted and the food came out right away. The serving size was just right. My friend's kids ate a good portion of the food.
Our craving for South Indian food led us here, as we wanted to avoid the drive to Artesia for the perfect dosa. Parking was a bit challenging on the weekend, but the restaurant itself was spacious and had a welcoming South Indian vibe. We ordered the Mysore dosa, lollipop chicken, and butter chicken. The lollipop chicken was a highlight—spicy, flavorful, and perfectly fried. The butter chicken was decent, though not extraordinary and it came with ghee which was a flavorful touch .The dosa, unfortunately, fell short of expectations; it lacked the signature crunch and crisp texture and was smaller than we anticipated. They had many info Chinese options which looked interesting. Service was satisfactory, and we appreciated that the food was halal. Overall a good South Indian food fix.
Friendly staff but pizza is very salty and small, not New York pizza. I bought a large and ate 6 very small slices and I wasn't even full and too salty to eat it all. Price is not good for the size but looks good on menu. Don't be deceived.
Pizza is not the best, some crunch to it. Hardly any sauce, easy on the cheese with a thin crust. 1.9 stars from me but I rounded up.
Super friendly service but jeez that Italian sub was not great. I’ve never seen an Italian sub served hot, but this one was, and there was absolutely nothing to moisten it up. No dressing or any kind of condiments. I tried to salvage it but I just couldn’t enjoy it. I should have just gotten a slice of pizza and called it a day…
I am kind of upset I paid $40 a pizza with almost no ingredients. I ordered green peppers, pepperoni, mushrooms and jalapeños.
Disappointing Experience at NY Pizza in Tustin I recently visited NY Pizza in Tustin and unfortunately had a less-than-pleasant experience. The pizza I received had numerous bubbles with uneven cheese distribution, and when I brought it to the attention of the attendant, the resolution offered was a simple apology and a complimentary soda. While the gesture was appreciated, it didn't address the core issue – the pizza itself. Moreover, the french fries I ordered were subpar, appearing half-cooked and resembling something cooked in an air fryer. I expected better quality considering it's a pizza place. Regrettably, I won't be returning to NY Pizza. My hope is that this serves as constructive feedback for the restaurant. It's essential to prioritize quality food and service to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business. Ignoring such issues could lead to a decline in customers, as not everyone may vocalize their dissatisfaction. I encourage the restaurant to take this advice to heart and make the necessary improvements for the sake of their reputation and customer loyalty. I'm requesting a full refund
King Kong appetite! But left disappointed on ingredients. Hardly any sauce and cheese on my slice. I tried paying several times for extra and still had bubbles(Pizza lovers know what I’m talking about) on my pizza. It’s great here, at least add on for what I ask. I’d love to have a full slice if you know what I mean. Not to mention this place has a small delivery radius. Have to order through a sub-contractor and pizza is usually 2 out of 5 heat temperature. Will continue to order here til otherwise. Thanks Guys.
We paid 700 for this meal and were extremely disappointed. The food was served uncooked, which is not just unacceptable but a serious safety issue. Serving raw food without proper preparation shows a lack of basic hygiene and care for customers’ health. For this price, we expected quality and professionalism, not something that could make us sick. This experience was frustrating and concerning, and we would not recommend this place unless food safety standards are taken seriously. No response from owner when we reach to out to them
We placed a large order for 19 people (including 9 children) this past Christmas Day. Although the restaurant confirmed they could accommodate a group of this size, the food quality was unacceptable and unsafe. The mutton biryani was tough and undercooked, the chicken in the gravy was raw in the middle, and the parottas were completely burnt. As we were serving young children, the undercooked meat is a serious food safety concern. We contacted the restaurant immediately, and the front desk promised a manager would follow up with us. We are still waiting for that call. Between the hazardous food and the lack of professional accountability, this was an incredibly disappointing experience.
We ordered from here on Christmas Day for a group of 19, including 9 children. We inquired beforehand if they could handle such a large takeout order, and they confirmed they could. Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. The mutton biryani was undercooked, the chicken in the gravy was only half-cooked, and the parotta was overcooked and burnt. This is a serious food safety concern, especially since we specifically mentioned the food was for children of various ages. When we called to complain, the front desk told us a manager would call us back, but we never received a response. It was a terrible experience.
⚠️ Disappointing Monday Experience – Not Recommended Visited on a Monday and left completely upset. • Chicken curry was clearly not fresh—lacked flavor and texture. • Filter coffee was cold. The person preparing it seemed unaware of basic decoction-milk balance. It felt like the milk wasn’t even boiled. • When I politely tried to explain, he refused to listen or acknowledge the issue. This isn’t just about taste—it’s about respect for customers and the basics of South Indian food culture. I expected warmth and authenticity, but left with regret.
Review for Anjappar (Ektaa Diwali Fest, Irvine – October 4, 2025) We first tried Anjappar when it opened pre-COVID, around 2019. The food and service were amazing back then, and we used to visit frequently. Over time, however, both quality and hospitality started to decline, and we eventually stopped going. After several years, we decided to give them another chance when we saw their booth at the Ektaa Diwali Fest in Irvine on Saturday, October 4, 2025. We ordered one tea and one dosa. The tea was lukewarm, but we adjusted, drank some, and threw the rest away. The staff told us to wait on the side for our dosa, so we went where the chutney and sambar trays and cups were placed. There was a lady in a white dress standing there, doing nothing, and she looked like another guest waiting for her food. Since the setup looked self-service, my mom thought we could serve ourselves. The staff at the counter were busy taking orders and handling payments, and no one was attending that area. While waiting, my mom—who is hypoglycemic and gets lightheaded without food—took one spoon of sambar into a small cup to taste. The sambar was cold, but after they refilled the container, she took another small spoon (barely 25% of the cup in total). Suddenly, the lady in the white dress started shouting, waving her arms, saying “Don’t touch that! I’m supposed to serve you!” We were stunned by her rude and unprofessional behavior. My mom calmly explained that we didn’t know she was staff, that it looked like self-service, and that the sambar was cold and watery—just like the tea. Instead of apologizing, the lady responded, “Then don’t drink the sambar,” and “It’s okay if the tea was cold.” We were shocked and disgusted by her tone and attitude. We have never experienced such rude, obnoxious behavior from anyone in the hospitality industry. India is a country where we’re taught from a young age never to humiliate anyone when it comes to food. This lady clearly lacked even basic manners, decency, and common sense in dealing with customers. The entire experience ruined our appetite. We requested a refund and left the booth immediately. After this incident, we will never give Anjappar another chance again. Truly disgusting behavior and an awful experience.
