Some good food, presentation of L&L is nothing like Hawaii. Place looks run down with hand written menus stuck to originals on the menu board. Ono's is much more like Hawaii restaurant appearance and much cleaner. Environment and people are more friendlier.

This is one of the best “fast food” chains offering Hawaiian BBQ on the mainland. There are quite a few in the area, but this is my favorite and is the only one I know that is actually rooted in Hawaii. The Kal Bi, BBQ chicken and Kalua pork plate lunches are my favorite. They also have lau lau, saimin, musubi (SPAM, Portuguese sausage and other variants), loco moco, and other island favorites along with actual Hawaiian canned drinks, which you normally can only find in Hawaii. It’s a little piece of Hawaii right here, conveniently located near the Union City BART station and the major intersection of Decoto Road and Alvarado-Niles Blvd.

Great place for Hawaiian BBQ. Love the loco moco and the bbq plates are worth it. Portions are big and it's a great value. If you like Hawaiian BBQ check this place out.

Not the cleanest place, but the spam musubi is alright. I went in here to get a snack. The spam musubi was just $3, so I bought it. I also needed to go to the bathroom. On my way there, I saw a ripped cushion, graffiti, and some garbage on the floor. The bathroom wasn't in much better condition. I returned to the counter just as my order was ready. The spam musubi was wrapped all the way in seaweed, instead of only in the middle which is more common in my experience. The spam wasn't crispy, but it sufficed. It laid on some sauce which was on some rice. Overall, the place looks a little questionable but the food is okay.

This restaurant doesn't look clean at all. Bad service. No greetings to customers. They are not interested in talking with you.

The serving is huge but the food is not that great. Only the bbq ribs, the rest is mediocre.

If you're jonsing for some local food, it'll do in a pinch but it's not as clean as other L&L's (Milpitas) and unfortunately feels second tier to some of its other branches. Most everything on the menu is what you'd expect but none of it is overwhelmingly tasty. I'm not putting Hawaii standards of plate lunches comparisons, just to be clear. To keep it on an even keel, I'm simply comparing this one to other California L&L's.

I like Hawaiian BBQ but this location is almost disgustingly dirty. Stark contrast with Ono by the Whipple exit which is sparkling clean.

Very oily fast food, it wasn't clean furniture cushions ripped open it seems they are not doing good business. Will be cautious going in here next time.

this place is horrible, horrible service horrible atmosphere there was graffiti all over the place, it looked like it was abandoned, then when i was going to the bathroom, i did 2 things instead of 1 first was to do my business and then was to barf up all my food, that bathroom is as nasty and yucky as hell this place needs to be remodeled and if you come here don't use the bathroom before or after you eat

The front of the store looks nice but my wife went in the restroom and she said it was disgusting in the women’s restroom, then I went in the men’s room and the urinal was covered in a black bag, the smell of the bathroom was a disgrace, so I went in the stall and there was graffiti everywhere. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place. Never going again. They need new management or something

I called to place an order and was hung up on multiple times. Completely unprofessional service and the guy working the register lied and stated that he told me to “call back” because I was walking in as this was happening. He also stated there was no manager or owner. This place employs clowns and their food is substandard at best. Would give no stars if possible.

The lady cashier at the cash register has been being rude lately every time I come in to order she has a thing about overcharging and purposely charging more for the order than it really is. I've never been charged for any of the sauces and she decided to charge us at the last second before we left. This place was good back over 10 years ago with polite hospitality but now it has gone down the drain with it's poor service. I would recommend going somewhere else.

The food is good props to the chef, however the Asian lady attending us at the front has a horrible attitude we greet and she says nothing. I ask for sauce and she tosses it. Horrible service and the bathrooms are always dirty it’s never cleaned. And gave us a dirty look. The prices went up but the services didn’t.

I made an order for pickup for the bbq mix plate and it was missing the short ribs and half of the beef parts and was mostly chicken chopped into weird cuts and they tied the bag so I wouldn’t see it when I arrived. Make sure you check the plate before buying and leaving their restaurant. This is the third time they did this. I thought it couldn’t happen a third time boy was I wrong. Sheesh. And their restrooms omg you must go check that out to holy crap. If they’re not putting enough effort into cleaning their restrooms they must not give a care in the world on how they prepare our orders neither. Seriously go look. Almost threw up.
