Love love love Tacos Papo! We discovered their truck on La playa and I have used them 2 x for large catering orders for our construction site. Both times were a hit, everyone was loving the food. A diamond in the rough this place!
Excellent food - but expect a long wait compared to other taco places.
The best place to do Taco Tuesday! I got 5 different types of tacos- a total of 15 tacos and all were delicious. It was a mixture of chicken, pork, and beef. The meat was tender and the tortillas were soft. Would definitely come here again.
I love Tacos Papos & they quickly became our new favorite local Mexican spot. Taco Tuesday is hugely popular- but for me I could never get enough Quesobirria tacos & horchata. A complete perfect meal. We’ve also liked burritos & have seen folks enjoying stuff we want to try in the future like weekend menudo & ramen. Service is always super speedy & friendly. In a strip mall not fancy ambiance at all but easy parking & clean & cute inside - prices are good too!
Tacos Papo has the feel of home with food arguably better than moms. This was ky second time coming here and it's been consistent in food quality, flavor, and restaurant environment. I highly recommend the birria quesadilla and birria ramen (be sure to order extra cheese, onions, and sour cream on the side for full flavor experience). The quesidilla comes with salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. Very tasty all sound!
Really good food, good service, and the place is always clean. I love the spicy salsa!
This place is consistently amazing. Clean facility, friendly team members, made to order tacos! Always coming back!
Authentic Mexican food, good prices, good vibes, and they’re always generous with their portions. 10/10!!! 🤩
Been going here with coworkers for some time now. Especially on taco Tuesdays. They have $1.50 tacos on that day and the meat and flavor is exceptional. I've tried all variations and they're all excellent. Tripia is my fav but all are good and you can definitely over do it since they're so cheap.
the food is bomb, service is not fast, you have to call ahead or wait is like 30 to 60minutes every time. 10/10 going back today
Always on point. My grandma's favorite taqueria, we go there at least once a week.
The food is great! Everything is very tasty and delicious. We enjoy the birria ramen. My husband says their fish tacos are one of the best ones he has tasted. The kids quesadillas with meat is a generous portion for a kids meal. Highly recommend their aguas frescas
The place for Taco Tuesdays in the Union City/Fremont area! They offer $1.50 tacos on Tuesdays which is an awesome deal. Great atmosphere but they are extremely busy during the Taco Tuesday peak hours between 5-7 pm. You can expect to wait at least 45 minutes for your order.
Update 4/8/25: still the best Taco place in the area. I get my veggie Taco fix here regularly. The renovations have made the place super spacious. Service is fantastic, but because of how busy they get daily, there's sometimes 45 minutes wait especially on Taco Tuesdays. Worth the wait though. One of the best vegetarian tacos in the tricity area. PERIOD. The best!
Excellent authentic Mèxican food. Hand-made tortillas 😋 the food tastes fresh and has great flavor! I had a menudo and seven handmade tortillas, and it was great. I also had a quesabirria and the Ramen barria and delicious. I had a michelada, and it is also good. I recommend the place 100%. It is under remodeling, but it looks clean, and it is peaceful. The service was good. It has plenty of parking space and wheelchair access. Trust me, those handmade tortillas will make you eat. The price was good, not too expensive. The portions were just on point. I did love the sense of humor about "charging $5 pesos for the bathroom." If you ever been to Mèxico you'll understand. 😁
Great value and good flavor overall. The stewed meats like lengua were super tender and rich—definitely the highlight. The grilled options (tripa, asada, al pastor) were just okay; tripa could’ve been crispier, and the others lacked that seared depth. The restaurant is clean, and service is solid, though it’s mostly self-serve—order at the counter and grab your own salsas and drinks. Easy, no-fuss setup that works. I’d come back and stick with the braised meats.
First time trying Tacos Papo and will definitely be back. They have an amazing Taco Tuesday special $1.56 street tacos. Which is AMAZING! They are delicious! Plenty of meat and flavor. Their red salsa casera is perfect but not too spicy. Can't wait to try other things on their menu. Staff is nice and friendly. Place was clean and love their wall decor.
Pretty authentic food and it's actually good! Expect it to be busy on taco Tuesdays and pretty much any day at dinner time, but worth the wait. There are not too many places in the area as good as this one. Even some of the staple Mexican joints nearby have gone downhill over the years but so far, Tacos Papo has delivered on service and taste, so let's hope it continues! Let's not use fillers in our meats or cheap out on portions. Add this to your list of Mexican food spots!
I hit this place on Tuesday! And you know what Tuesday is taco Tuesdaaaaaayyyyy!!!! It’s only a 1.50$ for a taco on Tuesday and their tacos are good! You get the Mexican vibe at the place and I liked it. Will visit again on next Tuesday:P Will try Quesabirrria with beef broth drippin 🤤 next time

5 star service restaurant .The greatest and best tacos alive .I had 5 .3 asada and 2 chorizo tacos on taco Tuesday .Amazing and fantastic .I didn't want that long at all .They were accurate .$1.50 tacos on Tuesdays.Normal prices are $3.50 I think on other days. I love lengua ,pollo and al pastor also .It's close by my apartment and down the street only a few mins away .🌮 We're 100% tasty and delicious .
The Legend of the Nachos While the tacos are world-class, the Nachos at Tacos Papo are the stuff of local legend. This isn't just a pile of chips; it’s a structural marvel of culinary engineering. • The Foundation: Every order starts with a massive bed of thick, house-fried chips that possess enough structural integrity to carry the weight of the feast without turning soggy. • The Protein: Whether you opt for the smoky, perfectly charred al pastor or the tender, savory carne asada, the meat is distributed with a generosity that borders on the heroic. • The "Papo" Touch: They don't skimp on the essentials. You’re looking at a molten blanket of cheese, a scoop of creamy guacamole that tastes like it was smashed seconds ago, and a hit of crema that ties the heat and salt together. • The Heat: Their salsas are not for the faint of heart. They add a bright, acidic kick that cuts through the richness of the cheese and meat, elevating the entire experience from a "snack" to a full-blown gastronomic event.
I’m raised Mexican so I know the good tacos. These are by far probably the best tasting tacos I have had in the U.S. every bite of it, the fresh meat and the real corn on those tortillas is felt and appreciated. As far as service, I recommend having someone clean the tables as people leave. We had a hard time finding one that was wiped cleaned.
Almost a perfect 5-5-5 stars but fell just a bit short on service for the long wait time. It took over 40 minutes for 6 street tacos to-go at 8:30pm (granted, this was on Taco Tuesday). Besides that, the food is great quality, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is good. It’s very much a local spot, and I love that about it. I wish their online ordering system worked so I could order ahead for pickup, but the platform says they’re not accepting online orders, even when they’re open in-store. Allowing people to order ahead, especially with the taco Tuesday deal, would possibly reduce wait times. I mostly always get the tacos here but I also love their agua frescas, especially the pepino/cucumber one. Not related to the food or restaurant experience itself, but it appears they are using AI to respond to reviews. Not a fan.
Love this local place! Their breakfast burritos ALWAYS hit the spot (esp. with their orange sauce).
Really good food, good service, and the place is always clean. I love the spicy salsa!

The tacos are good, even after driving home and eating them semicold. But… I ordered a Super Burrito but unfortunately it was lacking by in the Super part, I asked for no lettuce (as I don’t believe lettuce belongs in burritos) and they also left out the sour cream, cheese and guacamole, so that was disappointing. Got the chips and salsa and the chips were stale. The flavor of the pastor burrito was really good and I would get it again, I just couldn’t stop thinking about the missing ingredients, since that’s the reason for upgrading to the Super version.
The orange fresco was refreshing, the horchata was not too sweet and well loved by Aiden. The nacho cheese lengua was delicious and generous meat. The only thing was there was liquid, watery bottom, I'm guessing it was from the meat soaked lengua? If they can make it cheese dry it would be perfect! Orange sauce was great but I wish there's more heat and spicier salsa. I would love to try their cabeza and carnitas next time. Will visit for sure!!
We went here and had breakfast burritos, which aren't my favorite, but they did a pretty descent job, and you can just smell the fact that the food is good here. It's a cute little joint, in a good location. Whoever decorated the inside, did a good job.👍🏻 And the service is great. They also have a pretty impressive catering truck!
We stopped by after an adoption event. The service was friendly and fast. The food can be a better. I got an Al pastor burrito and my sisters got tacos. Great variety. Affordable prices.
Food is good here, only problem is that sometimes when dining in, the wait can be more than 25 to 30 minutes to get your food, might be do to the staff prioritizing take out Uber orders.
Great prices! Good food. Clean bathrooms, nicely decorated & plenty of space to sit. I just took one star away because they took 30 minutes to serve our delicious menudo.
Standard Mexican spot with good prices and quantity of food. It gets overly crowded on Taco Tuesdays, sometimes over run by High School kids. You can see a steady flow of all faces of people picking up, dining and lining up to order. Service is pretty fast and friendly. And you can always find parking. I love their salsa verde.
A local favorite perhaps, Tacos Papo offers solid Mexican favorites. We ordered the Carne Asada and Al Pastor super burritos. The burritos were quite good and good sized. Good flavors all around and their green salsa is excellent. 3 super burritos will set you back about $40.
Great re-opening! Still great tacos! Fresca Horchata and Pina were good too! Sometimes the service was really slow, waiting for the food sometimes took about an hour long! But otherwise it’s good!
One of the few quesabirria spots in the East Bay Solid overall, though note that it's not available on their Taco Tuesdays. The soup is pretty good, and the cheese has that great melted bite to it. Only thing I wished was done better was the shell. If I had to describe it, it's like a better version of Taco Bell's crunchy taco shell, it's thick enough to absorb the sauce, but it doesn't quite hold after 10 minutes of it sitting out.

The food was ok, the Birria Fries I probably wouldn't get again. Just not a good blend. The Salsa had seasoning in it that you just don't add to fresh made Salsa. If I ever go back, I may have to go with what I know and that is burritos. It was a little pricey.
Shrimp burrito ok. Chicken quesadilla very greasy. Flies inside and temperature was too warm.
It is your average neighborhood fast food style Taqueria ... Not very impressive with quality and portions, but acceptable only if you you don't have a better choice close by, like El Metate in Belmont, CA.
Unable to order sodas in Uber eats... Ordered super veg burrito. Burrito was very mild. Filled with veggies. Came with three tiny slices of pickled radish, two pieces of carrots and one tiny slice of jalapeños. Burrito does not come with salsa or chips or any condiments, had to order saperatly. Very small quantity of beans and sour cream. Filled with lattuce. Bland and tasteless. No fajita veggies. Can not find salsa , pico de gallo, beans or cheese in burrito. Got salsa and chips. Chips were fresh and crunchy. Salsa again was not very flavorful, very mild, low on salt and no kick to it. Tiny serving of salsa and tasteless/ flavorless. Worker gave me hot salsa with was literally red chillie paste . Even with missing ingredients and condiments it tasted good.
Ordered birria bc of the decent ratings, but the meat has no flavor and is drier than an elephant's elbow. It feels and tastes like I'm eating dry Tuna. The salsa I paid for was not sent, nor were any other sauces to try and give some juice or flavor to this dusty beef. Do not recommend.
I Order togo Súper burrito asada Super burrito pastor Kids quesadillas Street tacos lengua And some aguas frescas horchata, Jamaica, cantaloupe Rice was undercooked Pastor meat was greasy and cold. Legua had no flavor at all looks like they soaked it in plain water to heat it up Red and orange sauce were bland Jamaica and horchata were watered down a lot the cantaloupe was the only thing I like out of everything Restaurant was empty when I ordered the food
Ordered a hot cheeto chicken burrito and was given a steak burrito. I don't eat red meat, so I went up and told them what happened. They refused to make me a new chicken one unless I paid again, so I sat there while my friends ate. I didn't complain or make a big deal about it, even though I ordered chicken and it was their mistake. What really upset me and prompted me to write this review was that a nice lady in line saw the whole interaction, tried to speak up for me, but they still declined to remake it. SHE THEN BOUGHT ME a new burrito as she was leaving, AGAIN ordering chicken, and then handed me the receipt as she walked out the door, telling me it was for me. My friends had already finished eating, but they waited with me for my food to come out. To my disbelief, when the order came out, they handed me another steak, hot-cheese burrito... The craziest part was that they refused again to remake it as chicken. I didn't want to argue and I left hungry and pretty irritated with the poor service. I was honestly shocked. What sucks is they do have good food, the hot cheeto burritos are great, but I just cannot justify coming back after this experience. If it was just me, no big deal mistakes happen, but to do it twice in a row and to waste that kind lady's money like that doesnt sit right with me.
